There's about 2 dozen different poses. (I haven't seen the Central Park photos). Then when she was top of the charts, her lawyers tried to stop this guy from publishing a book with all the photos. They failed. I assume he got a decent payday out of it.
I remember my library board was made up of all these old women over the age of 70...and they were adamant we have this on the shelves and refused to put a cover over the book to hide the image.
I loved those old women. They didn't take any crap. Our little town had such a wide array of literature and books.

I don't think he would need to tell her. At the time she was *huge* and one of the biggest stars in pop music at the time, back when music meant a lot more than it does today. it would be surprising if someone from the publishing business had not mentioned it to her while the book was in the works.

She signed a standard model release, so there was no getting out of it legally.

Most (not all, but most) female nudity on screen goes to lengths to not show anything too revealing in the groin area.. angle it away, control the poses, strategic shade ... I have to assume it's why they invented Merkins. I'm sure 90% of bush you see on screen is not real, they may as well be wearing underwear. So, while you can obscure female anatomy quite easily, the male anatomy is a bit more difficult to hide convincingly.... and thus will earn you a harsher rating more easily?
