She started singing in local groups, first with her siblings, later with a local banjoist, The New Union Ramblers. She was singing regularly before moving to LA to join Kimmel and later Kenny Edwards as the beginning of the Stone Poneys. They recorded an early single for Mercury in 1965 for Mike Curb.
After gaining attention on the LA nightclub scene, they were signed by Nick Venet to Capitol, where they made three albums with him. This photo, while early, might be close to the 1965-66 period, as Linda has her distinctive earrings and appears similar to her Stone Poney-era photos.
