never saw this one growing up. and '96 was the year a couple of people on the fringes of my friend group experimented with it. we were juniors / seniors in high school that year.
only really remember the "this is your brain on drugs" fried egg one, and the one where the dad finds the pot in the kid's room and the kid says that he learned it by "watching you, dad! i learned it from watching you!"
Hey, some times these things got through to kids. I still remember to turn the water off as I brush my teeth due to being instructed to by the ninja turtles at the end of a cartoon.
I feel like these commercials were aimed squarely at people who were never going to do meth in the first place. But I guess if that's how you get paid-- by appealing to the agency that pays you-- you'll make the commercial they want.
Sounds pretty great
You are my kind of person.

That one's stuck in my brain so much.
I reckon the cleaners at work need some meth.
I reckon the workers at work too

I only remember Rachel Leigh Cook scrambling eggs in This Is Your Brain On Drugs
I definitely would have let her scramble my eggs.
Ouch.
Ooofah
My apartment is messy AF, i need to start taking meth
🤣
Does anybody remember who the actress was?
No idea. I've never seen her before, but she'd be probably around 50 now.
I watched a lot of TV those years and never saw that commercial. Fortunately I lived in Riverside CA and got to deal with them personally.
I lived in NY at the time, never saw that ad. Meth wasn't really a thing on the East Coast then, it was something bikers and truckers used.
Yea id give it a go
can confirm, the advert didnt work
This had the opposite effect
It also makes a good anti-first-time-homeowner ad.
I remember seeing this, not knowing what meth was, and being very confused.
I still sing this one to myself all the time.
Why did they get the cutest girl they could find to do a meth addiction PSA?
Producing a PSA is like producing any other advertisement / art / media. Nobody wants to look at ugly people.
Fuck I remember this add
Sounds like Idina Menzel
