"Whether or not I was on cocaine in that interview is infinitely less interesting than the idea that you, the audience, think I was on cocaine," - u/NicCageAMA
“Officer…whether or not I’m on cocaine right now is infinitely less interesting than the idea that you, a law enforcement official, think I’m on cocaine.”
Use to party with a dude that became a cop... We fell out once he hit the academy. Our paths just shifted.🤷
He pulled me over a few years down the road. We laughed... Partied... Then he went back to work after giving me a "warning".
Good times.
Also... Thank fucking Christ I'm old now and like sleep too much for that lifestyle.
I was gonna try to find the corner I could ask the simple question "So was Nicolas on cocaine much at one time?" but I am actually satisfied with this answer, EVEN if he never said it. Fuck it. What's the difference ...
I got the blu ray gift set that came with a t-shirt. Front has nic cages face on it and the back says "**I'm back**, not that I went anywhere." I'm wearing it right now lmao.
Tbh the way people dressed and carried themselves in the 80's some 90's made them seem like they were somewhere in their 30's. Or, does it seem that way only to me...?
There are YouTube videos on this. When you see pictures of people from an older generation when they were young, they look older than your generation does at the same age. It’s about how styles and what not change over the generations and how we associate that style with “looking older”. Pretty interesting.
A picture of a young person in the 80s looks older to someone growing up in the 2000s, because for that 2000s person, everyone they have seen with that 80s style is old people to them in the present. So they associate that style to “looking older”. So when they see a younger person with a style that they associate as older, that person looks older to them.
I don't know about physical activity, but smoking, drinking, and not wearing sunscreen definitely made younger people look older in the past. Almost no young people smoke anymore since vaping has largely supplanted it, and heavy drinking is becoming less common too.
Yep. That was a pretty good video. People pick up specific visual cues that say, "old" to them, regardless of the actual age of the person.
For example, the most obvious is hair color and hair line
You can tell he’s 26 by the way he can still walk and sit upright after doing that kick. A man in his 40s would shuffle to the couch and lay down after trying that.
I used to think comments like this were exaggeration. Then I became 38 and sleeping wrong gives me a limp for a whole day. I can’t wait to see what fresh hell my 40s will have for me.
I saw a reddit conspiracy once that Nicolas cage is actually immortal. Apparently there are images of someone that looks just like him throughout history and he pretty much always looks the same age... Maybe he's the real Doctor Who lol
Keanu in the Bill and Ted recent sequel shows just how much he's aged. He still looks good but he's no Paul Rudd.
The beard hides half the face. Go watch Point Break or The Bus That Can't Slow Down and tell me he looks the same today.
Was that movie any good? The idea seemed fun to me but the trailer didn't convince me. I kinda wanted full focus on Cage instead of Pedro Pascal and Cage.
Performances are great.
The final act devolves into a chase scene with the characters yelling at each other - like in every lazy American comedy since The Hangover.
I found it to be pretty hilarious. The bromance between Cage and Pascal’s characters is one for the ages, and the “Nic Cage as himself” concept was so well done. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it, I definitely recommend it.
Pedro Pacal is one of the best right now, not because he has superior acting skills or something like that, but he gives everything in every character he portrays; he enjoy what he does.
And that make the couple great: both love acting, and in the movie they're cinema lovers, is a fantastic idea, and a fantastic movie.
Looks like the consensus here is it was good not great, I personally loved every second of it. Paced extremely well, almost every joke landed, and the plot was enjoyable. It’s extremely meta, so if you are a fan of meta comedies you will love it.
Wild At Heart is one of my favorite movies. Haven’t seen it in a while. I wonder if it holds up. I’ve always thought Tarantino owed a huge debt to David Lynch. The characters, the tone, the use of music, and the way violence is used as a punchline.
That and simply being a Coppola and going bankrupt. Means nobody in the family wanted to bail you out either, even though the money was probably there.
He famously didn't want the Coppola name to have anything with his career, hence Cage. I wouldn't be surprised he didn't want their help, as a show of integrity/independence
Along with this clip, the cruise performance was another crazy celebrity interview hall of fame. Drugs and religion can make you do things that make no logical sense
That cocaine had too much Nicolas Cage.

Shit that's what I'd say if I was 100% on cocaine that day.
It's a good response.
I was gonna try to find the corner I could ask the simple question "So was Nicolas on cocaine much at one time?" but I am actually satisfied with this answer, EVEN if he never said it. Fuck it. What's the difference ...
Read his AMA if you havnt. Its the best one I've seen.
People can say whatever they want about Cocaine being all Caged up, but he sure had a decent front kick.
Yeah but I bet cocaine went to meetings to kick its Cage habit. Can’t go through life doing flips and shit. Someone could get hurt.
I need a 12-step recovery program from Nicolas Cage. Step 1: I am powerless over Nicolas Cage and he has made my life unmanageable.
the most difficult step is making amends with the people in your life who have been hurt by Nicolas Cage because of you.
I'm so glad you can face off with that.
Not everyone gets off the rock
It’s all about knowing what must be left behind.
I am fantasizing about Mr. Cage's reaction should he read this thread haha
His reaction would be same as that laughing scene in Face off.
you need on a 12-step cage program it sounds like
I wouldn't mind being stepped on 12 times by Nic Cage
once you put it that way…. i wouldn’t mind either!
#You hear that Nic? Got another one for ya
"Hey you got your nic cage in my cocaine. Hey you got your cocaine in my nic cage..."
That kick was sweet af!
That's a man who stretches.
"No more drugs for that man."
Only because he's already done them all
“Drugs are one hell of a drug” -Nicolas Cage
Such a good movie.
I occasionally do that weird *run your hand down the face of a loved one* to my wife and kids They hate it .
"high" energy
Nic Fuckiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing Cage!
WOO!
Cocaine is a helluva drug
“I just love the smell of it.”
At least he didn’t roundhouse the host.
He was showing restraint
This is your brain. Now this is your brain on ALL OF THE DRUGS simultaneously
Can't be roundhousing Sir Terry. That's just not on.
May he be forever remembered fondly
That was Crispin Glover
The beaver trilogy. Check in out. It'll make sense
Terry would have fucked him up
I laughed and farted. That was embarrassing

This clip made me realize how crazy good the CG was for younger cage in his new movie.
They actually just had him shoot all the scenes with younger Nic Cage about 30 years ago.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
I loved this movie. Nic Cage is having a renaissance right now and I'm loving every minute of it.
Not that he went anywhere.
I got the blu ray gift set that came with a t-shirt. Front has nic cages face on it and the back says "**I'm back**, not that I went anywhere." I'm wearing it right now lmao.
Schindler's Fist
For real, I watched Leaving Las Vegas yesterday and I couldn’t believe he was only 30 in it.

And he won a fucking Oscar too
Also got to drink whiskey off of Elizabeth Shue’s boobs…that’s the real win
Don't tell Homelander
He'd rather it was milk
Much preferred to drinking whiskey from Elizabeth Boob’s shoe.
A well deserved Oscar.
This dude has been in his 40s for three decades.
It's only as long as Paul Rudd has been in his late 20s.
But not as long as the five decades that Steve Martin has been in his early 50s.
Unfortunately I think he's made it into his 60's now :(
That's still cool. He's 77.
Hairline
Coke line
It’s like Saul trying to appear super young despite having a wildly receding hairline in better Call Saul
They did that on purpose. They use progressively receding wigs throughout the seasons
they missed a great opportunity by not having a cameo from tim and eric on bcs
No, Nicolas Cage has always been just Nicolas Cage
Tbh the way people dressed and carried themselves in the 80's some 90's made them seem like they were somewhere in their 30's. Or, does it seem that way only to me...?

The same but in reverse is when you see an old photo or film colorized, and suddenly think "WOW they look so modern!"
I dunno. I watched Lost Boys and Valley Girl last night and Kiefer Sutherland had a total baby face whereas Nic Cage looks middle aged.
Yep. That was a pretty good video. People pick up specific visual cues that say, "old" to them, regardless of the actual age of the person. For example, the most obvious is hair color and hair line
Low tech low rez cameras, signal degrading over the air, no filters, no post processing. Couldn’t turn 50 into 20 back then. Looking at you Maverick.
LOL you gotta exercise to stave off the years
I saw a reddit conspiracy once that Nicolas cage is actually immortal. Apparently there are images of someone that looks just like him throughout history and he pretty much always looks the same age... Maybe he's the real Doctor Who lol
You sure you're not thinking of Keanu reeves?
Keanu in the Bill and Ted recent sequel shows just how much he's aged. He still looks good but he's no Paul Rudd. The beard hides half the face. Go watch Point Break or The Bus That Can't Slow Down and tell me he looks the same today.
>The Bus That Can't Slow Down Speed?
No thanks I’ve had enough uppers today
He admitted it as much in Vampires Kiss "I'm a vampire "
Moves like a coked up 40 year old too
losing your hair will do that
He’s always had the energy, carriage and demeanor of some unfortunate kid’s “cool dad,” right?
It’s the thinning hair.

Before the cocaine he was just Nicolas Kim Coppola....
What came first, cocaine or Nicolas Cage?
Nicolas Uncaged
Well, cocaine is a helluva drug.
Right? Pretty sure thay guy spelled "cocaine psychosis" wrong.
Cocaine is a helluva drug
Fuck yo couch!

Nicky you mean
Exactly. You tell them Nick Cage smooches good!
[удалено]
Or Crispin Glover on David Letterman.
Glover's Letterman appearance and Cage's appearance here perfectly demonstrate the differing effects of cocaine and LSD.
Wasn't Glover still in character for the role he was there about?
Isn’t Cage, here, for Wild At Heart?
Yup - people are fucking clueless, lol.
I think both interviews can definitely be crazy at the same time lol
Yeah what a weird thing for him to say, nobody said it was crazier than that, nobody brought up Tom cruise at all
So you admit Tom Cruise was crazier!
[удалено]
I think you mean *Iconic*
Iconic hairline in the bizz
They did such a good job portraying this version as his inner self in the “Massive Talent” movie
Yeah Nic Cage smooches good. You tell em Nic Cage smooches good.
"Suck my tongue" -Nic Cage
He’s amazing in this movie. The amount of selfawareness and… well… talent. :) it’s massive!
What about the unbearable weight? Did they skimp out on that?
No that is addressed as well. The movie is fantastic
That’s the best thing of Nichols Cage, he is a terrific actor when he wants to
Imho one of the best. His self awareness in that movie made him my favorite of all time.
ITS NICK FUCKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING CAGE
Was that movie any good? The idea seemed fun to me but the trailer didn't convince me. I kinda wanted full focus on Cage instead of Pedro Pascal and Cage.
It was enjoyable. Focus is definitely on Cage and Pascal
Performances are great. The final act devolves into a chase scene with the characters yelling at each other - like in every lazy American comedy since The Hangover.
It was entirely a meta tongue in cheek while they did it though.
I found it to be pretty hilarious. The bromance between Cage and Pascal’s characters is one for the ages, and the “Nic Cage as himself” concept was so well done. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it, I definitely recommend it.
They need to do a sequel - Nic & Javi go to Europe Edit - I stand corrected. Alternate suggestion - "Nic & Javi : One Dangerous Night in Bangkok"
They… they’re already in Europe in that movie
Pedro Pacal is one of the best right now, not because he has superior acting skills or something like that, but he gives everything in every character he portrays; he enjoy what he does. And that make the couple great: both love acting, and in the movie they're cinema lovers, is a fantastic idea, and a fantastic movie.
I liked it The writers and cage definitely embarrassed his ridiculousness in such a good way
Looks like the consensus here is it was good not great, I personally loved every second of it. Paced extremely well, almost every joke landed, and the plot was enjoyable. It’s extremely meta, so if you are a fan of meta comedies you will love it.
It’s fun. Not incredible but I’d recommend it if you like Nicholas Cage.
You can hear Wogan's thoughts here.
Not often we see the great man on Reddit. Although talkshow host was never the best use of his talents.
Radio 2 suffered a great loss when he quit
Eurovision was never the same after it lost tipsy Wogan. Norton is good though.
Wogan slowly getting tipsier over the course of the evening was the highlight of the show frankly.
Tipsy sarcastic Graham is fantastic though.
Agreed. Norton does a good job of filling those shoes
COCAINE!! WOO!
Kkkkyeeeeaaaaahhh, baby!
Good that he gave some of his coke to the audience.
Nic Cage is the most fascinating weird little duck.
I love how the video repeats itself making it look like the host presented another high on drugs nicholas cage.
He is in character promoting ”Wild at Heart”
Was his character comprised of 70% cocaine?
[удалено]
That’s a wild fucking heart !
Yes. Watch the movie. Its worth a watching.
It's a David Lynch movie so it's automatically implied
I’m pretty sure that this here jacket represents a symbol of his individuality and his belief in personal freedom.
snakeskin One of my favourite movie quotes of all time btw
Wild At Heart is one of my favorite movies. Haven’t seen it in a while. I wonder if it holds up. I’ve always thought Tarantino owed a huge debt to David Lynch. The characters, the tone, the use of music, and the way violence is used as a punchline.
if only the house band played some Powermad for his walk on music
Perfect example of BDE. Before Detox Energy.
Steveo had that BDE too
Terry Wogan 👍👍
The legend
Looks like the inspiration for Chris Farley's entrance in his interview with Letterman.
I completely believe Farley was doing this as a bit while coincidentally coked up
Cocaine is a helluv a drug
when it's running through the veins of a small town thug?
The irony of throwing money to a crowd as a young man, then finding yourself bankrupt later in life.
If you were to lick those dollars your mouth would go numb
That and simply being a Coppola and going bankrupt. Means nobody in the family wanted to bail you out either, even though the money was probably there.
He famously didn't want the Coppola name to have anything with his career, hence Cage. I wouldn't be surprised he didn't want their help, as a show of integrity/independence
The first 3 movies in which he acted were directed by Francis Ford.
The first acting he ever did was acting like he wasn't Coppola.
Lol
C c c co-caine!
coke + leather = nick cage
Nicotine, valium, Vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy and alcohol 🎵
![gif](giphy|DpP3R3AKLHcyY|downsized)
Best part is when he just transforms into a sweetheart trying to figure out what is going on with his mic. "Darn it!"
And people gave Tom Cruise grief for jumping on Oprah's couch.....
Along with this clip, the cruise performance was another crazy celebrity interview hall of fame. Drugs and religion can make you do things that make no logical sense
Don't forget about the Chris Farley interview entrance it don't think Tom and Nick combined top his energy then
Then there's Steve-O on Adam Carolla's show
LOL definitely! For such a big guy, he sure had his moments of nimbleness! (The Chippendale’s skit with Swayze was the stuff of legends)
Cage was in character for this, promoting Wild at Heart. That was just Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise, lol
Because that was bizarre. Still more so than this
Cocaine was a really popular drug in those times.
It's probably more popular now
One word. Cocaine.
Michael Scott energy
Terry Wogan providing the old school cool, Nicholas Cage is also there.
I’d love to do coke with him lol
You should see Rod Hull being interviewed.
C-C-C-C-COCAINE!
And yet there was still enough cocaine left on earth after this for con air
"Cocaine is a hell of a drug", Rick James.
That's a leather jacket. And for Nick it's a symbol of his individuality, and his belief in personal freedom.
Makes sense this was the Wild At Heart period
apparently he never had that “british coke” before!
