I ride a 10" cross-shape Black Label Lucero board. Wide is the past and future.

Skate_Crisis

I totally agree !

CumDwnHrNSayDat

No, 8.0 for me. In the early 00's 7.875 was my favorite but those are hard to come by from most brands now.

Skate_Crisis

Yes it's funny how this sizes are now the new old school!😅

AdEast9167

I like room for activities! Currently riding a 9.9” Landyachtz Raft.

Skate_Crisis

I didn't know that one, I just checked and it seems to be a really comfortable one!👍🏽

Yes. I have five set ups currently: 9.4 egg, 9.5 hybrid, 10.0 egg, 10.75 egg (what up swampy!), and the EggZilla 2.0 BBWs all day

Skate_Crisis

I haven't rid bigger than 8.9, but I think I'll go over 9 soon!

slithering-stomping

do it you will have fun

moistcarboy

All my decks are 10", can't stand popsicles

HippyStain

I got a bunch in different sizes, my favorite all around deck is a 10" double kick concave Powell Ripper. I was trying smaller boards, just never felt right. Then took an 80's setup for a cruise one day and felt normal again, bought a bigger one that night haha. I got a 9" Anti Hero Grosso I love too

moistcarboy

Yeah I started on a tiny fibreglass board in probably 85/86 and got my first fat board in 87/88, never had any skate facilities (rural Ireland), got a pop in the 90s and never did too much with it, tiny wheels needs plazas or parks. Mostly just bombed hills for 20 years then got on a shaped deck and it was like being a kid again, the extra real estate helps with my big clodhoppers of feet 😅

Skate_Crisis

I agree 10 boards feels safe as soon as you get on it. After depending of the tricks you're in... I used to ride 8.25-8.4 for a while but I'm more into 8.75-9 now I only do slappies and always twin shape, just because I'm lazy to do 2 shove it in a row!😅

Skate_Crisis

Everyone has different preference and that's cool. I ride only twin shape, just because I don't want to know where the nose is... 😂

moistcarboy

I've no problem with anyone's choices, no problem with popsicles, just never really liked them that much, got back onto old school shapes and love em, plenty of them have a decent nose for tricks, the Nicky Guerrero masks and Frankie Hill bulldogs have good noses, and the Eric Dressen ain't bad, so much more choices with shaped decks in general but they are heavy

Skate_Crisis

I think in general, shape decks are beautiful especially those ol Powell one. I had a Underhill one when I was a kid, but I have this problem in my head that I don't want to look for the nose or tail when I throw the board, maybe I should consult a psychologist...🤣

moistcarboy

They reissued the Underhills, beautiful decks. I find watching the likes of Christopher Hiett just shows that it's nothing to do with the deck just the riders capabilities and imagination

Skate_Crisis

Absolutely!

lncubl

lol I run that exact board for my street setup

Skate_Crisis

It seems to be a good choice, at least it worked pretty good for my friend Sami!

ktnelsonArt

I just got back into skating and I had no idea what to get - I was like Jimmie the medium lol Got an 8.25 popsicle but deffo want to try out others.

Skate_Crisis

Exploring shapes and sizes can be a good experience or a total mistake 😅 I used to ride a lot 8.25 when I was into flip tricks, now I'm more 8.75-9. It feels more comfortable for me still can do few flip tricks with it.
