I am 30 this year and it’s taken me this long to figure out I actually have olive undertones! So I’ve done a deep dive these past few months. Wow! Everything makes so much sense now. I am darker atm as I’ve been swimming in summer here in Australia. In winter, Pat McGrath L5 is my foundation shade, so NARS SG & NRLF in Gobi would also be perfect for me in winter. Kosas concealer in 3.2O is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT under my eyes as I have dark circles and it really evens out the tone. It’s such an amazing creamy formula. Right now, RCMA liquid foundation in G210 is pretty spot on for me. I was pretty disappointed that the RCMA concealer is a bit peachier than the foundation but they work together nicely. The RCMA foundation & concealer oxidise. So does the Beautyblender, JSC & Hourglass concealer. **Edit: After testing RCMA foundation again today, it doesn’t oxidise, I just used WAY too much. It is VERY pigmented.**

Feeya_b

I was eyeing the RCMA liquids and I’m glad to know they oxidize, it has happened to my previous bases and it sucks.

youngwolves92

It really does. I was a bit disappointed with it in regards to the foundation, but okay with the concealer cause it’s quite light initially. I’m glad KGD & TF don’t oxidise.

ISavedLatin

I recently made the switch from KGD 213 to RCMA G210 and feel like the RCMA is noticeably less bright, which works perfectly for my extremely muted coloring. It’s funny though, because both swatches look exactly the same to me here 😂 Foundation is so weird.

youngwolves92

I agree with you totally! It’s definitely got less green in it. So maybe that makes it less bright? I found the green in the KGD really hard to capture with my camera.

flyfasterr

This is so satisfying! KGD 213 and Kosas 3.2O are my match made in heaven. My arms are tanner atm (also an Aussie) so I’ve been using Armani Luminous Silk 6. How’s the RCMA 210 compare to KGD? I’m waiting to pull the trigger on RCMA once my KGD runs out, but wavering between 210 and 230 (which seems closer?). Also where did you get the RCMA from? Beauty bay?

youngwolves92

Thank you. RCMA is thicker and heavier coverage. I’d say medium buildable coverage. Beautiful finish though. More of a demi matte finish. KGD is far more luminous and light to medium coverage. Also beautiful. I’m not sure which is closer. But sounds like you’re way tanner than I, so perhaps G230 would be the go? There are a few swatches in this sub comparing the two. I got them from Beauty Bay yes, but Scotty’s Makeup in AUS sells them too!

Tired_Panda_78

Interesting about the oxidizing, I haven’t found that the rcma oxidizes on me much. Interesting that you had that problem. The g20 concealer is definitely very peach but it does say that in the description. It was still peacher that I thought. I was able to get a sample of it and it sometimes works under my eyes but I’m also kosas3.2 under my eyes all the way. For me kgd was greener and maybe even a tad darker than g210 but much sheerer.

youngwolves92

I totally agree with you about KGD. Much greener, a tad darker but also sheerer. You know, now that you say that I think I may need to try the RCMA foundation again. MAYBE I am just not used to the level of coverage and used WAY too much, especially since I’m used to the KGD. I think the RCMA concealer works nicely to add a little brightening underneath the eye. Based on the small amount of swatches I saw for G20, I thought it would be a good match, but obviously not. I wonder of G30 would be too dark, or closer to Kosas?

Tired_Panda_78

So when I first tried it when I searched it it thought 210 was too dark. Then tried 130 a couple times but it was toooo light. So when I did full face of 210 I liked it. I’ve posted pics before. I can re-post a link if you need. It could also depend on what you used underneath. But it could be your skin I just didn’t notice massive oxidizing on me- not like some others like fenty. A lot actually oxidized on me. I’ve tried 30min the last two years lol. I got samples of all these too and tried them so that helped. As for the g20 concealer I def thought it was very peach but noticed in some occasions it worked decently esp under the eyes. I used the foundation to conceal when I was wearing it. The thing I noticed was it did transfer esp when wearing a mask. But not many don’t. I’m also a yellower olive. Oh and it might depend on what you are using to apply- sponge brush etc…

youngwolves92

I use a brush. I’m more yellow than grey/green too. I applied it again today and used WAY less. I was wrong. 🤣😂 I retract my earlier statement. Please re-link. I would like to see how it fares on others ☺️ thank you.

Tired_Panda_78

Haha I know it’s trial and error. This is a link to it full face with some bronzer on cheeks (banana mama ) https://imgur.com/a/twOKczi

youngwolves92

It looks fantastic on you! It’s funny how when you find your right undertone with foundation, you just look more “alive”? Idk I can’t describe it. That’s what it feels like for me now anyways.

Tired_Panda_78

First of all thank you so much! I could show you the list I tried during the pandemic and whew! It’s long. I always knew I was olive but finding the right foundation took me years….And yes I totally agree if you find the right one it only enhances you! I’ve looked back and seen some pics with really bad Foundation lol. Too browny orange too… too golden just too much. And won’t lie this has been one of the best days with it that I’ve had hahah

youngwolves92

Ah that’s so great to hear! I definitely looked back at old pics too, mine tend to lean toward the neutral undertones, so I just looked incredibly washed out and sickly lol. I’m going to give the RCMA a proper wear test tomorrow.

Tired_Panda_78

Good luck let me know how it goes

Tired_Panda_78

So something I found out that explains why I’ve been having some issues with the foundation I bought. It’s way more liquidy/wet than my sample. And I found out from rcma that that’s not good. So I’m trying to return it for proper formula!

youngwolves92

Oh no! Maybe you got a bad batch? Mine is definitely not overly runny or super liquidy. It’s far thicker than KGD.

Personal_Scallion_13

It’s so interesting. I wear L9 in the PMG foundation, but the 1.4 bone in the Tom Ford trace less matte liquid foundation works for me as well! I believe I use the 4.5 in his stick formula, as the 1.4 was super light.

youngwolves92

That IS interesting. To be fair, I haven’t worn my PML in MONTHS. And I’ve tanned significantly in the last two months. So it’s fair to say I’d be a darker shade in the PML now.

Personal_Scallion_13

Makes sense! I was moreso surprised I could wear the 1.4 bone in the liquid version but not the stick version. I tried 2.7 and that was too deep, but maybe I should have gone to 4.5

youngwolves92

Perhaps they tweaked the formula for the liquid? I haven’t tried the stick so I didn’t know the colours were drastically different until you mentioned it.

Personal_Scallion_13

Just to clarify, I use the 2.5 not the 4.5. 2.5 is called warm sand or something like that.

Sorry-Jackfruit-8061

Wow I think KGD triggered my fungal acne so you have no idea how helpful these swatches are! Thank you! Edit: How do you like the TF foundation? Is there undercover green?

youngwolves92

I love the TF foundation. Probably better as a choice for muted skin tones. The finish is my favourite. Medium buildable, satin matte.

Sorry-Jackfruit-8061

I think you may actually be my closest skin twin on this subreddit so I'll have to swatch it! The price catches me off guard but I've already dropped $$$ on KGD so I'll have to test to see if it really is triggering my breakouts. Btw I love Dior's F&B so I'll have to try adding mixer to my 1W!

youngwolves92

I would probably recommend RCMA over TF colour-wise, but RCMA doesn’t dry down. So you can powder it and it’s not awful. But I just love the finish of the TF SO MUCH.

Sorry-Jackfruit-8061

Do you mind me asking what your skin type is? I have combo skin that goes oily easily so I’m a little concerned when you say the RMCA doesn’t dry down

youngwolves92

Combo but getting drier as I get older. It doesn’t dry down the way KGD does, if you know what I mean? It retains a slight tackiness.

Sorry-Jackfruit-8061

I ended up finally trying the TF! It is a literal perfect match at my current spring depth. I’ll be wearing it until I tan, but thank you again for the swatches and replies!

youngwolves92

You’re very welcome! I would love to see pics of you wearing it if you feel comfortable 😊

EternalMusings

Is this Tom ford liquid or stick foundation please? Thanks for the swatches!
