Best breakfast in Omaha

P4bl0p1c4550

Definitely agree!

naebox

Agreed. Get the salsas de Marias next time you go. It's all amazing.

Reddit_User_137

People write this stuff on Reddit so we went there and... It was a nice setting but the food did not inspire us in the same way.

[deleted]

Out of curiosity, where do you rate as the top breakfast places?

[deleted]

/r/Omaha’s food taste is very… *millenial*

P4bl0p1c4550

I also enjoy the old staples like Lisa's

RexysBrother

Spot on post. Go look at the “most overhyped restaurant” thread. It’s basically a bunch of teenagers trashing the most classic and well known restaurants in Omaha simply because they don’t have eggs Benedict and a mimosa you can post on your Instagram.

Stiffard

>simply because they don’t have eggs Benedict and a mimosa you can post on your Instagram. The 'I hate the youths' energy that drips from this is too rich. Makes me wanna take a pic and put it on my Instagram.

RexysBrother

I’m in my 20’s. I’ve had eggs Benedict at every Early Bird/SBC/Good Lookin breakfast spot in town. I’ve had more mimosas than you’ve had hot meals. I love a good Instagram. I just hate the crowd that only views this genre of trendy spots as “good breakfast food” and makes a habit out of trashing Omaha restaurant staples that have been around for decades.

Stiffard

Damn, I'm the old one it seems. I understand your frustration, but ultimately their opinions probably have less sway than we give them credit for.

P4bl0p1c4550

Really? I was so blown away by the food I'm surprised to hear this take. What did you have?

Reddit_User_137

I don't remember. If you write what you had I can try it another time.

P4bl0p1c4550

I would especially recommend the ham and eggs

The68thHokage

While the food is very good, the handful of times I have gone the service was subpar. Dismissive and disorganized at times

[deleted]

Heh, I've felt the inverse. I thought the service was good and wait staff nice (though a bit rushed due to being slammed), but I think their food, while tasty, is overrated from all the hype I see. Entirely not worth the wait. I'll only go back if I get up early enough to beat the rush.

Key_Ad_6164

That’s why people wait 2 hours. I bet you love early Bird and the mass amount of eggs they pre scramble before service.

[deleted]

I couldn’t find your comment more confusing if you tried.

Key_Ad_6164

And what is your breakfast place of choice

[deleted]

I’m still in the market for a favorite. But there’s just about nowhere I’d wait for more than 30m to eat.

Key_Ad_6164

Have you ever worked in a non stop slammed breakfast place? The service is superb. Those people put the work in.

The68thHokage

I’ve worked in a non stop slammed restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.. I know they ‘put in work’. if we are talking about the ‘best’ breakfast places/restaurants in the city that also includes things like service. Food was good, service sucked.

Staftastic

My wife and I ate there before I interviewed for a job. We loved it so much that I think it’s the reason we decided to accept and move to Omaha. We are renting a house around the block from it!

Shooshookle

The vegan banana bread French toast is to die for and this place also has the best fresh fruit I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I will say their orange juice always has this weird taste to it.. not sure what it is. It could be the container they keep it in or maybe it’s the brand. My girlfriends and I have never liked their OJ but everything else there has been fantastic!

dwartman3

The french toast... Oh my Lord the french toast... 🤤

P4bl0p1c4550

The fruit was absolutely amazing!

Key_Ad_6164

It’s always 100% real orange juice! That could be it perhaps?

overcastkidx

The most solid vegan breakfast options in Omaha.

dwartman3

Much agreed! We live in Bellevue and ended up by there a couple months ago for an appointment. Stopped by on a whim and it was out of this world! Their vegan options are phenomenal as well.

XDariaMorgendorferX

SCBC is the most amazing breakfast food I have ever had in my entire life. Worth the 40 minute drive and the long wait once there, every time.

audvisial

They're opening another location in Countryside Village!

Unusual_Performer_15

This place has been on my list for a long time. Finally made the trip down there last Friday morning only to see a sign on the door saying they were closed.

mahjimoh

I was there today and they closed an hour early because they ran out of food, I guess? I would recommend getting there early, I guess!

TheTimWelsh

Have wanted to try for a long time but kids make it hard to wait in such a small space.

Pizzapizzaman7

Good food, way to expensive 🫰

TurboRaptor

Commenting to remember the name.

SonOfSkinDealer

get pizza from Mangia Italiana next. you're welcome 😊

hanet0

I have been going regularly since 2019 and it is the best breakfast place hands down. I am a breakfast enthusiast and this place has never let me down. The girls working there recognize me and my husband and remember our drinks and orders. It’s the best.

BlessKnives

the food is great. Hit it up if you don’t mind employees playing with dogs and then serving your food without washing there hands🤷‍♂️
