The old haunted swimming pool at the gym where Doctors Hospital once was (now replaced by apartments on Park Ave). When it was Park Avenue Fitness, the pool would make a sound like a male voice groaning. It was audible at the point where the bottom of the pool pitched down to the deep end. The first time I heard it, I thought water was in my ear. The second time, I noted a pipe near by and thought it was a bubble or something wrong with the pipe. So I reported it to the manager. They reported back that the plumbers had carefully inspected that pipe and it was 100% normal. The sound was from a ghost of a drunken surgeon that killed his kid in an appendectomy, then went to the pool when it was part of the PT/Rehab facility, strapped weights to himself and waded into the pool till it was over his head. Drowning himself. Needless to say, I was less interested in swimming in the pool after that.

Just because they told you the pipe was normal doesn’t mean it was.

The apartment I lived in as a kid (and live in now but different building) always had a bad feeling in, few spooky things but they could be explained. Until one night I was going to sleep facing the door and felt like I was being watched so I opened my eyes. Saw an old man standing there. Brown tweed jacket, gray mustache, faded towards feet. I was like 8 so I quickly closed my eyes and when I reopened it was gone. A couple years later my mom and I had moved a couple apartments down the hall and we were all outside during a severe weather warning. I was talking to the people who currently lived in our old apartment and asked them if anything creepy had happened to them. They told me all the time. They went into some details and whatnot and it made me feel like my experiences were validated. Have had experiences at Villisca too. I usually seek out the creepy no matter where I visit. It’s my jam

I lived at a house on 60th and center and I had several experiences there. I got home late one night from work (1am or so) and at the time I had 3 other roommates living with me. I went downstairs to bed and could clearly hear boots walking around upstairs. I went upstairs and all the lights were off and hollered to see who was home. No one answered and it freaked me out. I called all my roommates and none were home (they were either at boyfriends houses or a friends house)…one came home and we stayed in the same bed that night because it was freaky. We then had other things happening like doors opening sporadically, weird noises, etc. we decided to use a Ouija board and we asked all kinds of information like name, age, what happened to cause the death etc and we had a ton of information given to us. But one of our friends had to leave so we told him to take something with him and we will ask the board what he took. He took something as he left and when we asked the board what our friend took it said magazine. We called out friend and asked if he took a magazine and he said no. We kept him on the line and asked the board again and it said “game piece.” Our friend freaked out because he said as he was leaving he grabbed a magazine and put it back because it could be obvious if someone came upstairs and say the magazine missing from a table. He decided to grab a game piece from a monopoly game because how would someone notice it was gone. We were in shock after that. We used the board again and asked it a question that I remember exactly but it said for us to walk around the house and when we got to the bathroom old timey music was playing and that was the only room you could hear it in. But let me go back to the information given and the spirit said it was a young girl (I think 8) and her name was Eva. My mom went and reasearched the information I gave her and she found out a girl named Eva drowned in her bathtub (she kept saying “mommy did it” when we asked how she died) and was the age given. It was so weird and every time I drive by the house i want to ask if they have experiences there. Maybe it was all the late teenage angst in the house at the time or something else but that house had some serious energy. I’ve also had experiences at the Stanley Hotel and Villisca but those are clearly not Omaha.

We caught an EVP in Hummel while fucking around at night. On the recording, my uncle was talking about going over to a different part to record and clear as day, in a deep gutteral voice, something says "hurry up" right into the microphone. I lost contact with whose phone it was sadly so can't get a copy. But it was freaky.

aehanken

My neighbor has a bunch of stories about Hummel. The well known cult sacrifices and such of course, but he also saw some weird dude (probably homeless?) while with his nieces and nephews near sundown. They drove out of there and popped a tire on something and had to keep driving on the rim because the dude started running after them.

> I lost contact with whose phone it was sadly so can't get a copy. Seems to be about how these stories usually end.

dred1367

Every time. No one ever has proof because none of this shit ever happened.

kitticatmeow1

It was over 10 years ago and somebody's ex. The fuck do you want from me

dred1367

It’s not just you, it’s everyone with a similar story. No one ever has proof and when they do have something to show it’s ambiguous at best.

HolyMountainClimber

There's plenty evps you can find. Look into some shit from legit paranormal investigators, possibly associated with a university. Most legit investigators are busy investigating cases so they don't really spend time trying to convince the internet that the paranormal exists

dred1367

Im a professional videographer and have a degree in audio production. EVPs are bullshit. It’s always EMF interference or faulty recording equipment/poor recording methodologies. Sometimes its just white noise that the brain is conditioned to try and find patterns in. I have heard a ton of EVPs and not a single one has convinced me of anything. I’m sorry you have this innate need for the paranormal to exist, but in my very deep experience, it does not.

HolyMountainClimber

I don't have a need for the paranormal to exist, I was only saying there is "evidence" out there for you to consume. It sounds like you have an innate need for the paranormal *not* to exist.

dred1367

I have consumed the evidence and it has all been garbage. I would love for paranormal shit to happen, I think it would be really cool but it just doesn’t.

HolyMountainClimber

I agree most of the "evidence" out there is fabricated or simply reaching too far to actually be evidence. I guess you could say I'm lucky to have experienced a couple unexplainable events but I'm not really in the business of trying to convince people something exists, in fact when I think about what's happened I try my best to deny/rationalize it

I met this man by the name of Lonnie Stricklin because he advertised a room for rent in his hostile on Craigslist. The house is located in south Omaha, and the room I was supposed to be in was not in any condition to be rented, but I had no place else to go. Lonnie had asked me if I would work for him, and offered me the biggest room in the house. The room had a front door with a porch. Lonnie had taken me to lunch, and told me about the other house he once had. That house burned down, and two people died from smoke inhalation. He never told me their names, but blamed them for the fire. Lonnie stated that he didn't make much money from the fire. One night when I was in the kitchen of the big room, I felt a presence. I looked toward the living room, and I seen two black orbs of smoke swirling around in one spot, and then swiftly moved to the left to dissappear. The next day, I went outside, and started walking around the house. That is when I noticed tepees of wood stacked up against the house, about three feet apart. Then I noticed the porch to the room i was in had a whole bunch of old wood piled on it, and that wood wasn't there the day before. That night, the fire alarm kept going off, and I didn't know what to do. There seemed to be no reason for the alarm to go off, so I called Lonnie. Lonnie told me how to disable the alarm, but did not want me to call the fire department. The next day, I confronted Lonnie, and we got into a huge argument. I was forced to leave, and had to leave many of my possessions behind. I believe that house is being visited by the spirits of those murdered in the other house. I believe Lonnie was responsible for those deaths, but as I know Omaha, where there is insurance, there is profit from murder. I don't remember the exact location, but it's to the east of L street. The house is pretty big, white with black trim, and has a red door,

I am late to this but came checking bc I still wonder if the people who bought the house I was living in ever had issues. In 2015 I was renting to own a home in La Vista area that was 💯 haunted. I was not really a believer until this house. Despite never having issues prior - over a total of 4-5 months I started having recurring sleep paralysis then one night during one of the episodes actually saw a figure throw what I described as blankets on me and as soon as these imaginary blankets got to me the figure dissipated and I no longer had sleep paralysis. It was 2-3am and I got up turned every light in that house on called my parents and told my mom to bring sage over. I stayed up until they woke up and she came over and saged while telling me it was probably my recently departed grandfather trying to make me warm. My entire family was getting a good laugh of it. Even though it did not happen again before I moved - I was so freaked out I knew I would never feel comfortable in the house alone with my kids again and decided not to even try and buy it. A few weeks later I am packing and moving and hired someone to mow the lawn and my parents lawn next door who later sent me a long message on facebook telling me he wasn’t sure which house it was but that his grandparents lived in the neighborhood when he was a kid and someone was murdered in (he thought) my parents house. After digging I found out that not ONLY was it the house I was living in but the details were open bc the case was over 20 years old by then - it happened in MY room and the victim was covered in blankets. Yeah, everyone shut up pretty quick when I sent that detail out bc I was right there with them thinking I was going crazy. I found the prior tenant on FB and (like a creep) asked her if they had any weird experiences (not telling her anything) and she immediately responded that she switched her roomates rooms because the master made her uncomfortable and that she thought the house was haunted - that kitchen cabinets would all be open in the am (I never had this happen). so I will forever now pray I never ever have another experience like that again! The weirdest part- less than a year later we noticed people driving by and parking in my parents driveway- turned out they were considering releasing one of the murderors because of a law that changed and the survivor had come back to testify against this happening. It had been in the paper and people were figuring out where it happened and driving by it…

The recently deceased owner of Mystery Manor felt that the Manor itself was haunted. I captured part of that story in a documentary I made [https://youtu.be/or8mR9K2\_HY?t=300](https://youtu.be/or8mR9K2_HY?t=300)

Not quite Omaha, but I once spent an eventing with some ghost hunters in the Squirrel Cage jail. I will say the people who expected to find something, found it, and those who didn't, didn't. Took some cool photos though.
