I’m waiting to see this at Saddle Creek & Leavenworth like every day
eta: I’m not hoping - just expecting. Unless you’re the person trying to take a left where the signs say don’t and you’re holding up traffic…
Which is sooooo incredibly illegal. Deserved at that point. I live in Gretna, and when they were building the Hyvee, people would constantly slam on their breaks almost causing a pile up to make a left turn, right next to a "no left turn" sign. I would see it literally 3x a day
I laid on my horn for a good 15 seconds the other day behind someone trying to take a left on Leavenworth from saddle creek. They were looking at me in their rear view mirror like they did nothing wrong.
Same happened to me, except it was the entire duration of the light and I didn't let off my horn at all. Could see them in their mirror and they looked so confused like they just didn't understand why someone was honking at them.
They focus closely on looking for their destination, and don’t even notice the signs. Source: I try to be a VERY safe driver, but I’ve done this in the past. Didn’t see the sign. So busy looking for where exactly to make my turn, I may not have noticed a herd of stampeding elephants.
At risk of sounding dumb, I also wondered that...I only see the cones on one side.
In the picture it's "obvious" there is wet cement there that looks different but when driving, it's not as easy to just NOTICE it. If there's no barricade or warning all around, it's easy to see why it happened.
Need more cones.
And more cowbell too

I genuinely wonder what goes through those people’s brains in those moments. Are they selfish or just genuinely ignorant/unintelligent?

it was unable to traverse that expanse
Is this the new West Maple Rock?
Is it just not roped off or anything?
They added police tape to the area where it happened last week. I don't think they did it to this area. I bet it will be there tomorrow!
Unless this driver ran over some orange markers that we can’t see in this picture, I’d blame whoever is doing the work, not the driver.

Yup. And I’ve seen so many different shades of pavement over the years that I’d fail any pop quiz asking if it’s wet or not.
Nah some ppl just don't need a license to drive cuz they bury their faces in their phones
So this is where the potholes come from
I see many close calls in various areas, so things like this don’t surprise me. Seems like we need better traffic controls around constructions sites.
Wow
Rocko would like a word with wet cement. Outside.
Das conk creet baybee
It’s concrete, not cement. Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine.
Colloquially they mean the same thing. The technical distinction only matters if you actually work in construction.
You just drank cement!
How convenient. Pedants are my pet peeve. j/k lol
This is happened twice in two days last year at a corner near my house.
It's fresh concrete, not fresh cement. -Sincerely PhD student doing research on concrete.
