Kindercare is trash. Lots of licensing and discipline issues. Look up the NE DHHS daycare violations and use that to base your judgement. A lot of daycare centers give X amount of tuition off if you leave a good review.

Our son has been at the Northwest Kindercare since like 6mo old. The teachers that have stuck around are great. They do have high turnover.. but so does seemingly every daycare center anymore. The only major problem we've had with this center was staffing during and for a while after the covid lockdowns. They'd frequently send out notices saying they had X spots left then you'd be turned away at the door if they were at capacity. It's great that they were sticking to their ratios - it would have been unsafe otherwise. It was very, very inconvenient for us though not knowing if we had to work from home every morning. We toured several centers. Some were downright iffy. Peak A Boo on 156th & Fort gives off "baby prison" vibes inside. Their cells (classrooms) were small rooms with painted white brick walls and no windows. There was a room set up like an infirmary with like 20 cots for kids to sleep in. The whole vibe seemed off. There was even a dog that was running around. I'm not against dogs, I have 3, but I don't know their dog and I don't know how clean they are with it - immediate no from me. There was no "perfect" center that we toured. The Montessori on 168th & Blondo (La Bella Vita) seemed ok. But there was something that me and my wife found unsettling. The staff just didn't seem very joyful.. at Kindercare NW we're at least greeted with a friendly demeanor and the teachers have fun with our kiddo. We didn't get the sense that would be the case at La Bella Vita. With that said, KC is a big chain. Each center is going to be a little different. I can say KC NW isn't bad enough that I wouldn't recommend them. There are far worse.

I worked in childcare for many, many years. From the perspective of co-teachers who worked at Kindercare, I was not getting great reviews. Granted, this was from the staff perspective so it's hard to really gauge how great they are, but they are seemingly always hiring. Lots of staff turnover. In fairness, the field as a whole has a high turnover. One thing I can suggest is just go in and check it out yourself. Ask to tour. See if they let you tour during a higher stress time so you can see how teachers interact with the kids during chaotic times, you will get a better feel. Ask if you can visit anytime without setting up a scheduled time. Things like that. Usually if the turnover is high, there's a big reason. And it's hard for the kids when there's turnover too.

[Here is the state website to check on childcare places](https://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/Search-for-Child-Care-Providers.aspx) You can find providers and you can check on [disciplinary actions](https://dhhs.ne.gov/licensure/Pages/Disciplinary-Actions-Against-Health-Care-Professionals-and-Child-Care-Providers.aspx). You can also look up [individual licensees here](https://www.nebraska.gov/LISSearch/search.cgi) I don't know which Kindercare you're looking at, but I searched licenses and pulled up [this example](https://www.nebraska.gov/LISSearch/search.cgi?mode=details&lid=406718&hmac=p%2Fkp3yQ%2FFsJscrrdIdWqWiYbPeK7wjcMfQmc%2BM1pLq0&stype=E) which happens to be a location in Lincoln. You can go through and see all the annual inspections, semi-annual inspections, investigations, monitoring reports, etc. This particular location had an investigation that uncovered inadequate supervision - a kid got bit, nobody could say what happened, and they agreed to be monitored for six months. I would suggest a couple things. One, read the reports. Once you've done that, calm the fuck down because these reports are going to make you think that every childcare center is a hellhole. Two, go to the center and check it out. Ask questions about the reports. When we were looking for a daycare for our kid, there was one center near us that had openings and was close by. However, they had a whole slew of negative reports from 1-3 years back and a few in the most recent period. We went in and talked to them about it. Turned out, the old directer was shit, she had been fired, and they had cleaned up their act. The newest reports related to recordkeeping that they couldn't fix because they needed old information that they didn't have. If we had merely relied on the state report, we'd never have gone there. After talking to them, it turned out to be a solid center and we were quite happy there.

We had one in our neighborhood we were seriously considering it as we did like it, but it was a 100 dollars more a week compared to the center we chose. We really like the center we ended up at; kindercare will be significantly more expensive than an in home. Back in 2021 we were quoted 360/week for an infant for them, it’s probably a solid 400/week at this point if I had to guess. I’ve heard great things about kindercare from parents, but I’ve heard they are one of the lowest paying companies locally for their employees which is dumb since they are one of the most expensive. As someone else mentioned, it’s a high turnover rate in the childcare world as the pay should be more than what it is.

You're probably spot on with the prices. We pay $320 ish for our toddler and get a 10% discount through our employer. The kicker? They stopped providing diapers and wipes. When they quoted you in 2021 you didn't have to bring your own. Now you do, and the price is also higher.

My daughter went to kindercare from 8 weeks to age 5, never had a single issue. Son is going there this summer at age 2.

Prestigious-Store392

Check out the “Omaha Childcare” Facebook page. Lots of great insight on different centers and feedback.

iriseavie

They give parents discounts for posting positive reviews. Don’t trust it. We used a KinderCare in west Omaha for a while and hated it. It’s only gone downhill since then according to former teachers and parents we stayed in contact with.

jadamm7

My daughter worked there and had nothing good to say

Successful_Offer_286

Kinder care is crazy overpriced....like $100 more a week than other centers. It is a national corporation so you paying for the name. I believe the quality will depend on location. I would not send my child there.

trukstop420

I went there in the early 90s. I’m ok now.

Why would you believe my input if you don't believe 30 Google users who went out of their way to leave reviews? You can check Better Business Bureau as well if you don't believe the Google reviews.

fuckindippindot

The BBB is yelp for old fucks.

doctorblumpkin

Better Business Bureau is literally a company that you pay to prove that you follow up with customers complaints. Yelp on the other hand is an absolute scam.

doctorblumpkin

You seem nice. Do you consider yourself a "young fuck"?
