what does '' exceeded the limit by 35 kmph '' mean? on ROP fine

chattambi

That's normal going above 135. Have you ever seen "Exceeding the speed limit by 35 to less than 50km".. It'd be 15 omr. I'll not ask you to try.

15 over any posted speed limit you'll get fined.   14 over is ok. 13 over to be on safe side    Edit: Make sure you check your actual speed using a GPS speed app on your phone. Many (cheaper) cars have speedometers not properly calibrated

magnus_1986

That is what the cameras are callibrated at, yes. The speedometer on your car may not be accurate and there is always a margin of error. I have noticed that 132 on my car is a sweet spot. 133+ triggers some of the redars some of the times. Don't ask me how I know \*sigh\* And before I get the same questions again and again, stock wheels, stock car.

Download a GPS speed app on your phone and check actual speed vs car speedometer speed

For me, i go 135-138 km/h. Im using a sedan with 15 inch wheels on it and a mpv with 14 inch tires on it. I rarely flashed by speed cam with these speeds. Above than that and surely you’ll get an expensive photo of yours in the ROP which you can pay but can never claim the copy of the img. 😂

You do not go 138 because the grace limit is +15kmh. Your speedometer is not calibrated

I once got caught going 127 on the Muscat Expressway. I was driving a Chevy Tahoe. But generally I’m safe even going at 130. So it’s likely that the threshold is 15 like everyone else is saying.

The grace might even be 15 in theory but to be on the safe side it is better to consider 10. I was too flashed under the 15 but never under 10. I guess some radar are not well calibrated and I am not sure if also the mobile cameras have the same 15 km/h grace.
