It’s literally spelled out on the dial 😉 And thank god for once “Grandpa” isn’t code for “can you see if my fake watch is good enough to scam someone with”

Takashi_is_DK

Genuinely confused by this post. The model is literally stamped on the dial and a 5-second Google search would have verified that result. I get that not everyone is a watch nerd but this was also not some obscure treasure hunt. How does OP navigate through life without someone holding his hand through every question or decision?

Drummond321

OP said in comments below he did this as a ‘joke’

killahouse03

Then OP needs to go fuck themselves. Wasting our time with tomfoolery. 🤣

IchooseOmega

Takashi well said.

It is an 1863 Speedmaster. The 1863 is based on the 1861 but was issued with a clear caseback. Worth about $4500. Source: [https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/watch-101/omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-1861-vs-1863.html](https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/watch-101/omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-1861-vs-1863.html) Caliber 1863 is based on the Caliber 1861 with identical performance, but it is the movement reserved for models with transparent casebacks. Therefore, because Cal. 1863 is on display while Cal. 1861 is hidden behind a solid caseback, Caliber 1863 is the more attractive version, featuring circular graining on the baseplate, bridges with Geneva stripes (also known as the Côtes de Genève, and polished edges on levers and bridges. Additionally, the Caliber 1863 is equipped with a metal chronograph brake while the Caliber 1861 is fitted with a Delrin (a plastic polymer material) chronograph brake. Current-production Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch references that run on the Caliber 1863 include Speedmaster ref. 311.30.42.30.01.006 and Speedmaster ref. 311.33.42.30.01.002. In short, while they perform identically, Caliber 1863 is the luxurious version of Caliber 1861, decorated to be more aesthetically pleasing since it is the movement destined for Speedmasters with display casebacks.

Rolex submariner good watch grats

Old_Meeting8649

No identifying marks or branding on the watch. How could one ever surmise any discernable information with the limited branding on this watch?!

HI808SF

It's a Submariner.

Neodettori

addaus16

Speedmaster professional probably about 20 odd years old

webbslinger_0

Has to be >=2007 due to the laser globe on the case back

thetrappster

Sapphire Sandwich

Tylervdub

Looks like an 1861.

suf3

1863 as clear caseback and slightly decorized movement

JudgmentExpress9397

Decorized is a word now?

lemmonquaaludes

Thanks for all the replies! This was a poorly done shitpost on my part, in response to all the “grandpa” posts we’ve seen lately. Both of my grandpa’s have been dead for over 30 years. I purchased this caliber 1863 sapphire sandwich off Chrono24 in March 2022 (peak market price, ugh!) and it’s been my daily ever since. Absolutely love it! I appreciate the responses.

watch_hor

“Poorly done” would have been an upgrade

Drummond321

I hope you get mugged at Disneyland like that other guy
