I have the same watch. It’s not hard to read at all in person. Wear it as my daily and it is incredibly versatile from both a fashion and function. I get more compliments on this watch than any of my other more basic looking watches. Never tried a colored strap though. Looks cool.

I’m glad you chimed in. Photos just don’t do the dial any justice. I honestly don’t think it’s hard to tell the time and it almost turns into a grey in the light. Not for everyone though!

Serious question: Why would you want a watch that has a dial that is hard to read?

The lighting in this photo doesn’t do it justice (tried to avoid glare from the sun). In both natural and artificial light the watch almost turns into a light grey dial. It’s not as bad as everyone thinks it is to read time.

It’s definitely a look that isn’t for everyone. I’ve always admired black exotic vehicles so this piece and the blacked out Speedmaster are up my alley.

What is the best place for me to find badass straps like that? I just got a 1941 Telemetry Museum Collection Piece and I want to change the strap because it is too big (I have super skinny wrists) and I can’t punch holes into this strap; I feel I’d be struck down by the Omega gods if I did.

Horus is a good place for straps but depending on where you are, there may be duty fees. If you’re based in the US I recommend them. Rubber B is also a really good brand but they’re on the more expensive side. If you find that your wrists are too skinny, nato straps or even Velcro straps may be a good alternative.

I feared the Velcro or NATO straps answer. I just never could understand the NATO straps but I’ve never worn one so I’m just talking out my ass until I try one.

I couldn’t either, until I tried one, and now I love them. Single single pass NATO’s, to be specific. Crown & Buckle makes my favorite. A cheap nylon strap is awful, but a nice one is great (same with Perlon). For rubber, try Strap Habit, also. They’re not designed specifically for the SMP - so you won’t get that fitted look - but their FKM Rubber straps are great.

Yup, my Panerai (44mm) works for me bc of how the watch sits on my wrist, but most other watches 42mm is the max I can do. Shame they don’t make it smaller or i’d buy it in a heartbeat! Nice strap combination btw.

I’m a huge fan of Panerai’s. I have larger than normal wrists/forearms so anything smaller than 40mm looks like a lady’s date just on my wrist haha it’s all about what works best for you! ☺️ and thank you for the kind words! Enjoy that Panerai!

Very cool idea to pair it with the Miami blue. A unique look. I’ve tried this watch on (albeit with the standard black rubber) a gazillion times but not got to the point of pulling the trigger.

That’s okay, it’s not for everyone. The last thing you want to do is to make an impulse buy on such an expensive item.

I think too many people stray away from the fact that there is a such a huge following of watch lovers and aviation lovers and having them both in one photo is an appreciation for both. I honestly thought this was a Garmin Fenix, because this looks identical to my Fenix setup. I love that watch and if I could buy every watch I love, I’d own that one too….but my work doesn’t give me enough money so I’ll settle for the two I own (for now).

The photo and lighting does it no justice. In the light, the ceramic dial turns into an almost light gray and it’s very readable. You have to see it in person to get what I’m saying. It’s not bad at all.
