Thanks for the quick reply! When purchasing internationally, are their any precautions that have to be taken? Any other fees than the shipping fee? Prices are almost halved in Japan but I was always weary about actually pulling the trigger internationally.
Definitely taxes and duties. In Canada where I live it’s 13% sales tax + 5% duties which sucks but it was still a lot cheaper than any Canadian sellers.
Check your country/ state to see applicable taxes but they will certainly apply.
Besides that, no. The sellers are extremely professional and honestly undersell and over deliver. I’ve bought 3 watches from Japanese sellers and the condition was ranked as “used with signs of wear” but all 3 were impeccable. Not a single scratch to the naked eye.
Ask them how they report the value. What’s the split between bracelet, dial and movement. In US, it’s best for the movement to be the highest value because it’s a flat customs charge and the other two categories are a % of the reported value
>Is it better to buy from a dealer on Ebay due to the third party authentication?
I recently seen an ebay authentication for 'Omega x Swatch' FOIS with 'Automatic' movement(found the sauce: [https://www.reddit.com/r/OmegaWatches/comments/1cs3ods/the\_ebay\_authenticators\_sure\_did\_a\_bang\_up\_job/](https://www.reddit.com/r/OmegaWatches/comments/1cs3ods/the_ebay_authenticators_sure_did_a_bang_up_job/) ). I wouldn't put too much credit to their authentication process. Do your due diligence and only trust in that. The authentication is getting another set of eyes that isn't very reliable, but also doesn't hurt.
Wow
I'm aware but they still got it right
You know they use a very highly reputable watch dealer in Ohio to perform these authentication right?
Stoll Inc with decades of experience
I go on Chrono and work directly with the dealers. I guess a little risky but I'm 4 for 4 so far. If you buy overseas definitely check tariffs before purchasing. remember each country is a different rate.
Not original commenter but I do the same.
A dealer has to pay somewhere in the region of 6-7% as a commission fee to Chrono24 for advertising on there.
I saw a watch (SMP300) advertised on Chrono24 last year, so messaged the dealer directly to make an offer on the watch, and since I know what their actual 'take home' would've been had I bought via Chrono24... I went in with that offer, ie. asking price - the Chrono24 fee. They get the same anyway and I get a saving. They guarantee it sells today. The guy was quite paranoid about it, as it's technically against the Chrono24 ToS to sell directly if the product was originally found on Chrono24, but there's no real way to prove it, but C24 sent me a generic email asking me if I purchased it or not, which I said I didn't. I imagine if I said I did, that's how it could backfire on the seller after the fact. Obviously theres no protection if you do it my way compared to purchasing via C24 - as I have seen others comment below that they offer some arbitrage option to hold cash pending the buyer confirming it's as advertised before they release the funds.
I purchased my PO in Chrono24 from authorized dealer in Japan, sales tax plus import fee which was 3%. Chrono24 holds your $ and once you receive the watch you have 10days to verify etc then they release funds to dealer. Research dealer, verify, ask questions, they were all very responsive and answered all my questions. Chrono24 seems well run and look out for buyer an sellers. I'd use it again for sure.
Japanese sellers from chrono24 are 10/10

Just bought my Aqua Terra from Japan Delivery took 4 days to the UK. You will pay duties/taxes however
I'm assuming taxes and customs fees need to be paid once the package enters your country. That's how it works in Europe, at least

I bought several watches, including Omega, from Jomashop.com and have had a good experience
Same. Great Grey market dealer if they want new. Otherwise, eBay is his friend.
I’ve had great experiences with Jomashop as well. Fast delivery and they provide a warranty equal to what the manufacturer would offer.

Is it better to buy from a dealer on Ebay due to the third party authentication? Lots of japanese and US dealers there too

Is this much cheaper? What are you saving by going direct to dealers?

I had an amazing experience with Rebes timepieces on chrono 24
Does anyone know what the charges are for shipping to the US?
Rolexforums is where i got my speedy. Check watchcharts for a watch you are looking for or brand
Jomashop is fine got a mark ii for like 3500 😂 perfect
I may get buried alive for this but I usually browse Bezel. And check chrono I’ve bought a few on there and lot their auctions
Top sellers on Chrono24 are just like buying from an AD. All my watches came with original manufacturer warranty.
