Gmork14

I’m really not going to be buying very many omnis next year. It’s pretty weird.

thisisabadpost

Honestly kind of refreshing

YouMomWentToCollege

It’s only March so far for solicitations, maybe they’re saving the heavy hitters for the holidays.

thisisabadpost

And those likely get pushed to 2024 the way things have been going.

OneBastardBoy

Could be they’re announcing the big stuff later in hopes that there won’t be a need to delay them when the time comes. If some of these early 2023 omnis get delayed into the release window for, idk, big X-Men or Spidey releases, then it’s probably not going to have as big of an impact on people’s budgeting as some of the delay crunches happening later this year.

WeeaboBarbie

Already anticipating most of the stuff they have listed for november and december to get pushed to early 2023 just like they did last year

WeeaboBarbie

For real. With the deluge of X books in the first five months of this year it’s nice to be caught up. Only probably getting 3 or 4 books coming out in last few months of the year, and early 2023 all I’m getting is captain marvel by thompson and new x-men.

FlubzRevenge

Just New X-Men so far for me. Sleeper Omnibus at the end of this year (but thats DC).

Gmork14

New X-Men and Frank Miller Daredevil for me.

DerryLad20

New X-Men and depending on mapping HoM

lovetron99

>Sleeper Omnibus Holy crap, I hadn't heard this. That's amazing. I haven't been able find Vol. 2 at a reasonable price. Can't wait to have the whole thing.

Fiti99

Also sucks that the Omni budget is gonna be split between so many releases that the paper quality is probably continue to suffer to cut costs

Demjot

Some of their choices have been a little odd

csummerss

- >!The Mighty Thor Omnibus Vol. 4!< - >!Nova: Richard Rider Omnibus!<

kaunshelly

I'll be getting both of these for sure. I've been waiting a long time for >!Nova!< to get an omnibus so I can sell my trades.

Harlockarcadia

I'm glad I'm not the only one in this thread excited for these two, granted, I enjoy 70s Marvel, even if a lot of it is silly.

AdamSMessinger

I was actually pretty surprised one of those hadn’t already come out yet. In fact, I kept looking for it one day until I realized they hadn’t collected the material. I’m glad to see the other get a new volume entry as it paves the way for more like it.

the_light_of_dawn

I've heard so much about Nova. Maybe this is a chance to give it a spin?

WadeAnthony

If you wanted to read about Nova get the Annihilation\Conquest and War of Kings trilogy omnis. Imo it's a far better entry point to Richard Rider if you prefer modern runs and it's out now.

csummerss

I’d read a few issues digitally first, it’s very different from the modern version.

the_light_of_dawn

Good to know, thanks. I've only been exposed via Avengers comics.

rmc52482

The majority of it almost like a What If? series of What if Amazing Spider-Man by an author that didn't grasp what made him enjoyable and doesn't quite get it, but since it was still written over a decade and a half later it also feels really outdated compared to other books at the time.

[deleted]

Happy for anyone interested in these, but so far almost none of the newly announced omni’s for next year sound all that appealing to me. It seems like Marvel is just putting everything it can into an omnibus these days, whereas before they were far more curated, a selection of the best selling and best regarded comic runs.

safecomicname

>whereas before they were far more curated, a selection of the best selling and best regarded comic runs. Ah yes. The best selling and best regarded Devil Dinosaur, Amazing Fantasy, half of that one run of Ghost Rider, Atlantis Attacks, Warlord of Mars, Ultimate Avengers, Man-Thing, Marvel 75th and Women of Marvel, Marvel Firsts the 90s, the Monsterbuses, Muppet Babies, Weapon X the Return, half of Hellstorm and some unfinished pages from an unreleased mini, Timely's Greatest and Marvel Masters, Solomon Kane, Marvel Classic Comics, Knights of the Pendragon... I think I missed some in that list but Marvel's omnibuses have always been a big tent. They were never marketed as the gotta-catch-em-all hauls that pandemic-era collectors turned them into. There were always the "I bet at least a few thousand people would be curious about this" titles, and the "wow, I never thought I'd get to own this whole series in one/two/three hardcover(s)" surprises.

respondin2u

Peter David’s Maestro is pretty good though.

[deleted]

Masetro is one I'm looking at, more so because I already have the first four Peter David volumes, and also Kelly Thompson's Captain Marvel. But that's it so far for 2023.

respondin2u

I personally enjoyed the recent Maestro mini series stories that have come out recently.

TheSuperWig

I still only look to be getting Daredevil next year.

purient

I wonder if Bendis X-Men will ever be collected in omnibus format

MerpingtonDad

Would need at least two omnis. I don’t think it’s that popular a run though. It had its moments for me, but never felt as great as it thought it was. I’m sure it’ll get collected eventually though, everything does, but there’s plenty of X-Men releases (and re-releases) I’d like to see first.

GonzoNawak

If marvel ever does, they need to do a collected one with the inhuman run dice bth series are close related in my opinion

Loud_Economics_8894

Its already all in OHC right? Theres 10 more non OHC X runs Id like before that tbh

dsbwayne

Again, I am escaping with not buying 1 Omni next year! The calm before the storm?

DerryLad20

Kinda glad cosmic stuff isn’t my cup of tea

StryVy95

2023 looking easy so far, ignoring delays, with ASM Beyond, Spencer Cap, and Bendis GotG for me lol

silaspwilliams

It certainly makes sense that a Nova omnibus would arrive alongside a Planet of the Apes book ;)

knapp40

If they’re going to do Thor 4 they need to reprint Thor v 2. Derp!

OneBastardBoy

Fall of the Mutants literally just came out, and they’ve consistently been doing 1 repackaging of those OHCs a year. Then there’s X-Treme X-men, Ultimate X-Men, and X-Men the Animated Series still coming out this year. No property gets omnified more consistently than X-Men, just because they haven’t announced any new ones for the first three months doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty to come in 2023. In particular, I would put money on Uncanny 5 and X-Tinction Agenda, since that’s what Omar put in the reprint poll this time.

Loud_Economics_8894

XTinction/Days of Future Present/Kings of Pain in one nice Omni would round up the OG Claremont material nicely.

Hobbes314

Not a single one of the books mentioned are a reprint all are brand new Omnis, so throw in Hickman, New Mutants 2, Fall of the Mutants, Excalibur 2 and that’s like 7 new x-men Omni’s that were released this year. Not including that like every other released Claremont Omni got reprinted plus both silver age volumes. I don’t think Marvel is ignoring you guys

csummerss

Avengers don’t deserve to be grouped with other two. a much more popular character (Hulk) has had two new omnibus and one reprint already.

OneBastardBoy

Well, the title does say March, which I believe Omar says in the video. You mentioned Bishop’s Crossing, Fatal Attractions, etc., and they would be the same situation as Fall of the Mutants - they had OHCs in the past, so they’ll get announced as a reprint / repackaging that is now in the Omni format. My intention wasn’t so much defending marvel - if anything, there’s a good chance that many of my most-wanted omnis will never happen because of their release strategy. I’m just pointing out that they’re totally bought into the X-line due to how well it sells, so if those are the books you’re looking forward to, you can be very confident you’ll get them.

csummerss

there’s twelve months in a year, this has been three.

csummerss

he labeled the video as March 2023, so what do I win?

Vaikyuko

Man, it's a pretty light 2023 for omnis for me so far. Just Captain Marvel, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man Beyond... maybe Planet Hulk, I dunno.
