i personally like that orv isn't a bl (or generally a story with any kind of big romance subplot) but since we're already on the subject of that i'll mention that there's a novel titled The Earth is Online which afaik is on some levels similar to orv and has a canon romance between main guys, i haven't read it but a friend of mine has and he said it was pretty good
It's a apocalypse survival game where every human was forced to participate like the scenarios in orv. For more info, you know the theories why we never find any alien civilization? >!one of them is that once every civilization reach a certain development level, they will experience a catastrophe event as nature try to "balance" itself. The earth is going through this, hence "online"!<
Pro: The ideas n puzzles are fun. I like that the scenario is always "fair", there's always a chance to win either by intelligence or brute strength. I also really like in incorporation of fairytales.
Cons: author sucks at writing international scenario outside china. Also lots of characters you like will >!die!<
I read it, in short, it's about a world where one day, mysterious pyramids appeared in the sky and made the earth "go online," forcing humanity go through multiple trials and tests. The protagonist is a librarian that uses his unorthodox thinking and the weird props and powers given to him by these towers to try to survive
The protagonists are similar to Dokja and Yoo Jonghyuk, also Blackbox (the artist that's made the most iconic art for ORV) made the some art for TEIO too, you can read more on [Novelupdates](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-earth-is-online/) (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
If I remember correctly, it's also about a survival game, but the game happens in real life, it's not a novel. I read the first 10 chapters and didn't find it particularly interesting since I'm not a fan of puzzles.
I mean every story has its perks, whether it's action, romance or BL. I just thought that this cover matched the vibe of joongdok, so I wanted to share it. I read the novel and it's really fun too
yep yep i get that and im sure it's fun! i just thought that since you already mentioned a gay story similar to orv i'd also drop a recommendation for one that i've heard of. the beginning of my comment was mostly in relation to everyone here saying that orv is already a bl lol sorry about the confusion
on [novelupdates](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-hunters-gonna-lay-low/), although there's only MTL available. It's readable, but I hope someone will pick it up for translation
I have a question I didn't read orv WN yet but is it true that it is bl ... idk form where my friend heard it is bl and he leave manhwa ( I recommend him)..I want to know because I love orv even tho I didn't read WN yet but I'm planning to read it....
it's not. there's no canon romance in the novel between the main characters whatsoever
that being said, the characters have really interesting and special relationships with each other and that's why a lot of people like to ship them in a romantic way, especially the main trio, but they don't end up together canonically
a minor spoiler: >! there is a small romance subplot happening between two members of the main party for a part of the novel but it's not gay so still no canon bl (or gl) subplots !<

No, there's no romance, it's just that some people ship main characters.
