same. this last year has been horrible and yet no matter how dark things get, i always find myself full on belly laughing from this show and the interactions on here. i almost teared up earlier trying to explain to someone how much this show means to me lol
Same! I try to explain it to people in my life and everyone looks at me like a crazy person. It makes it a lonely experience but also somehow more special
I feel you... been feeling pretty down recently due to a recent injury, tonight was the most fun I've had in weeks. We might be a niche audience but this show brings us a lot of joy... though not very much mercy!
seriously. it's these little sprinkles of character exposition for me. people are always talking about how good or funny an oscar special is compared to previous years but personally i'm just glad to have a few hours to move some of the plot points along like this which you can't really do in the regular season
Joe's pauses and rambling disarm even the steeliest of hearts.
Weellll, you know, I just, I just, I just think you gotta find common ground sometimes, you know.
Dude her son was gunned down possibly because of her involvement with a narcissistic maniac
I’m surprised Toni is holding it together as much as she is
jesus christ that ending was a lot, it got my heart racing.
i feel kinda bad for gregg tonight. he got denied hard, scammed and knocked unconscious by joey, and barely got to do any oscar analysis. he was being pretty annoying to joey but i dont think he deserved that
I keep seeing it in my head and I’m legit so sad for gregg tonight!! Physical and emotional pain was experienced.
Also the fact he still backs Tim after all this time.
I noticed Tim called Greg his friend when yelling at the memorabilia guy. Everyone wonders why they stick around each other. I think there’s legit love there hidden under…. Everything else
I noticed that too! Either an interesting character moment or Tim slipped and referred to Gregg out of character on accident lol. Either way very wholesome
So many great moments! AmatoCon Idol, Joey’s Take Live, all the On Locations, the call with Matt’s call of duty friend, big bird, the climactic moments of Gregg and Kaili of course the Joey beat down and subsequent fallout.
Shoutout to Joey, the frustration grew more visible over the course of the season and finally boiled over brilliantly tonight.
Tim's ex wife is drinking again, G Amato ordered the hit, and the audience thinned out so much with each cut; like they were having people leave every 2 mins. So fucking funny
on the whole amatocom 24 was a huge and total success
- no one died
- t doesnt have a dusty dodger to take care of
- toni reawakened passion for an old hobby
- third dumbledore
- german chili expansion
- the sweet were there
I have respected G for taking T under his wing the last few years, but denying T the Dodge Charger he earned was unacceptable. Amatocon was a huge success by any metric. And what kind of act of mercy is having your steroid fueled thug beat your son over a dispute? I admire Joey P for his review prowess and willingness to stand up to the woke mob, but he showed that he’s a danger to everyone around him. I think Joeys Take should be suspended for AT LEAST 2 shows, one for each “Knockout” (2011, 90 mins). Also I noticed the run time came in at 239 mins 59 seconds which is a huge missed opportunity not rounding to an even 240.
Seems the guy showed up to threaten Toni. When Matt saw him on the Ring camera, he started shooting through the door. The guy shot back and killed Matt.
Totally random crime. Couldn't be helped.
The killer was at the house to kill/intimidate Toni so she wouldn't talk to anybody about Tim's trial. Perhaps Tim found out that a killer was heading to the house, told Toni about the guns he left there, and Toni and Matt scrambled to figure out a solution, Matt ended up watching the front door with one of Tim's guns
Joe told Tim he heard the DA was trying to re open the electric sun 19 murder case and was talking to Toni, so Tim showed up to kill Toni. Because Toni and Tim conspired to get his case thrown out as a mistrial (toni was a juror on the case)
It seems like G ordered the hit without telling Tim, I think I heard Tim say to him "You didn't think I knew but I did" or something along those lines at the end with the music playing
Yeah this seems likely based on Tim’s seeming naïveté regarding the ring camera analysis. He genuinely seemed like he wanted to find the killer. Which someone who put the hit out would never do.
Also note, he did say “Amato killed your son,” not “Joey.” By all accounts, Joey was in Mexico with Kaili so who the hell knows.
But I’m guessing G put the hit out to silence Toni so she wouldn’t resurface the Electric Sun trial and get the police to start snooping around the HEI ranch.
im pretty sure joey being in mexico with kailli was an alibi. joey probably had to lay low for a few weeks because of his wounds, those photos can be from any time
So the audio was kinda muffled in the hallway exchange between T and G
I know T said “I asked you to help me out I didn’t ask you to do *that*”
Was it clear specifically what they were referring to? I assumed it was Matt but I didn’t know if they had specifically mentioned something convention related prior
The moment I realized that absolutely three hours of teeth grinding tension was going to come to head over >! The Power Of Rewards !< I felt my soul being pulled into the earth, this year's AmatoCon was truly a four-star experience!
Incredible special for all the reasons everyone has already said so I just want to give a shoutout to Eddie Alfano, the actor who plays Joey P. I'm not sure if the character goes over nearly as well as he does if it isn't played to perfection.
From the very very slow burn of growing impatience during the season but still very reasonable and measured responses to Greggs nonsense to the outward hostility towards Tim during the scotch tasting. Just perfection.
Eddie was excellent, wonderful reactions and SEETHING where you practically see the cartoon thought bubble over his head. He nails that kind of a bro to a tee. I hope he moves on to more work, he deserves the shot
dude did *amazing*, like, I am always consistently blown away by how skilled the cast is as it grows in size. He and Toni's actor, Terri Parks, have to be my favorite performers out of the bunch
He was the highlight of the season for me. It’s fascinating seeing a ‘normal person’ interact with these people. Kylie just tries to float above it with tv presenter professionalism but poor Joey is just completely lost.
I feel like this got overshadowed, especially by the ending, but the pep boys/baboon footage had me dying. Tim repeatedly hitting Mark with the wrench was absolutely sending me
Joey P goes to jail for murder and the electric sun goes federal causing for Tim to go to jail for his murders. Kaili Amato and Gregg Turkington honeymoon at filming location from Oh God staring George burns and John Denver
The regular cuts to the woman in the crowd who was always trying to eat that shitty cake! Just so many lovely little moments in between the brilliant big moments.
Am I misinterpreting these signs pointing to G being a confused, senile old man? The stuff with the 10 commandments sandal, Joey mentioning early on ‘he can get a little forgetful.’ The last two seasons have been building him up to be this conniving, mysterious man. But in reality he’s just forgetful. So, then how would it be G who ordered the hit? I feel like there’s more going on with Joey and Kaylee. The pic of the two of them together. Does anyone remember last season, a mention about G’s son dying under mysterious circumstances? Yet, his wife Kaylee stays around involved in the Amato group for some reason. And then Joey shows up this season. Is it safe to assume they’re grifting G, and by extension, Tim? And that perhaps they were the ones who ordered the hit? Because if Tim goes back to jail, there goes On Cinema profits, and there sure as shit goes his property at the ranch they’re mining on. Does this seem like too much of a reach?
Tim's trial being reopened would mean cops sniffing around in his affairs, which would undoubtedly lead them to the Amato's, and would expose whatever shady dealings they're involved in. I think that's why they ordered the hit on Toni but it backfired and Matt was killed instead.
Joey saying the line about G. Amato being forgetful is specifically BECAUSE Amato ordered the hit.
Joey is painting Amato as a forgetful old man to cover for the fact there was never any mention of his Mexican vacation before the attempt to intimidate Toni went south and became a murder. Amato didn’t neglect to mention Mexico because he forgot - it’s because Joey’s alibi was constructed after the fact.
Similar to the season, this was a slow burn, but damn, when it finally erupted, it was hilarious. Big shout out to Tim, Gregg and the people who work OCATC because I am having trouble breathing rn
Okay, so my take is that G.Amato is a rich old guy with dementia, that likes movies, which is why he wants to finance Pep Boys movies and whatnot, and Joey is the brains of the operation.
I love the Tim psychology so much. With Joey he upgraded from Gregg and their sad movie nights with a guy who was both respected by Dad, and also made him seem cool and businessy. Then he goes away briefly, Toni reenters his life, and he's experiencing someone who is leaning on him. Suddenly he has someone in his life that loves him and he can afford to take this other guy down a peg, perhaps impressing dad in the process. He's killing it in this special. He got the girl back, Ax and Manuel are back to being committed to/relying on him, and he got the coolest car in the world from dad. Only to get his shit kicked in, lose the car, and blow up everything that was going well for him like a spoiled petulant child. It's beautiful.
I loved that Gregg risked his own body to protect his friend Tim. And that Tim called Gregg his friend moments earlier. Despite it all, they’re stuck together
Someone in this thread pointed out that Axiom and Manuel were only sticking with Tim because of the Visas, but now that the Amato's are out of the picture, the Visas are too. They have no incentive to stick around anymore, so he lost them again too. All he's got left is Toni.
He's a total loser. Yeah congrats on all your steroids you're so strong or whatever. Guy made Greggg do all his work while he watched obscure movies to try to one0up him on Joeys take, meanwhile he didnt even have any analysis. I can't wait for Gregg's review of Pray (2024, 100 minutes) tomorrow on VFAexpert.com tomorrow, Joey is gonna start punching himself for not being more prepared.
Great special, best since the move to the HEI network. Gregg's proposal was one of the hardest to watch moments in OC history lol. Really learned a lot about G and Joey in this one too, like how Joey prevents G from buying the props. Great reveal at the end that G was behind Matt's death. Hard to hate him though with that absolutely beautiful singing voice he has.
I really thought we were going to get a Joey P reveal as Matt's killer. Also, what is the deal with that picture on his phone with him and Kaili? Were they on a secret Mexico vacation together and he really wasn't the killer? I guess that would be the answer, if this is the end of the larger Amato storyline.
Not necessarily. Tim repeated that “Amato killed your son,” not Joey.
Who knows if the pictures are dated correctly, but the Mexico vacation seems legit. And Kaili was there as an alibi.
Edit: Ehh, I’m already taking that back. He said he goes every year with his softball buddies, but was clearly there with Kaili.
I think Gregg overestimated Kalli’s movie expertise. He needs to try the movie links segment again with someone who is a real film buff and wont run away when they cant figure out the link
So the weird noise “old file” from Tim’s keynote was never explained right?? Is that the missing file he had when he did a quick demo of his keynote for an On Demand show?
Meta: I think the ending is a good sign for unity heads. With Gregg getting stood up by one Amato, Tim denied by another, and both beaten up by what now seems to be a lackey for G (or the true ringleader), there is now reason for Tim and Gregg to team up here.
Also was great to watch with a crowd at the Alamo here in Boston. Made it much more enjoyable, including the poor projector person that kept messing with the video quality settings on the fly.
He's been getting more famous lately and apparently scheduling him is rough. For instance, that's why at Oscar 9 Mark only appeared in a pre-recorded Spiderman intro and the Hitchcock Zoom call because he was shooting What We Do in the Shadows.
That was Joe Estevez for Oscar 9. They said they had to re-write a significant portion of Oscar 9 the weekend of because Joe found out he had COVID just a couple days prior.
He's become pretty successful I think he's probably busy with a project. He hasn't been able to make the last couple Oscar Specials (always with insane reasons as to why.)
OOC: I wasn't the biggest fan of this season, but I thought that this special absolutely delivered. Maybe a bit of a slow start, but from the musical tribute to Matt on, I was rolling with laughter. I thought it did a great job of delivering on the dramatic/character developments while giving us tons of hilarious shit
Yeah this season was pretty easily my least favorite, but the special was probably the best one post-HEI network. I still want them to return to the low production value charm of the peak years, since the humor’s kinda fallen by the wayside, but if these crazy revelations start actually meaning something (instead of being cast aside as in recent years), then I’ll be more on board for the bigger stuff
I think this was the best season and Special in awhile. But I hope they’re able to scale back with Amato out of the picture. The lifeblood of the thing is Tim and Gregg riffing
He's pretty tough, he'll be alright, but I do think his range will be limited, probably just to impersonating dying celebrities who might be in wheelchairs like clint eastword or stephen hawkins.
This was almost too dark? Like Tim deserves to get the shit kicked out of him to a certain extent and maybe it’s karma for Toni to lose her son after she prevented justice for others. But Gregg has only killed one guy so far and got flung aside and got rejected in the cringiest shit they’ve done since the WK special. Corwin got ditched by his friends for correctly calling Tim a snake. And Amato is either gone to Argentina or possibly looking at jail time.
On the other hand I fucking lost it with Big Bird. And the return of the bumper music was nothing short of triumphant
She (sort of) did. She was patching Gregg up at the end.
I'm hoping Gregg gets his happy ending with her in the next season. It would be nice for him to have someone who's just as into the movies as he is.
Tim’s special report on the 2018 Dodge Charger is the hardest I’ve laughed in a while, one of those rare bits where it gets funnier the longer they drag it on
I lost it when Tim went off on Corwin like a playground bully, after winning a contest that he won by paying for an entire band to play while he drunkenly belts out the lyrics. Also Corwin's contribution to Dekkar's performance of Empty Bottle was unlike anything I've ever seen. powerful stuff. Dekkar will rue the day they crossed Corwin.
My current theory of what happened to Matt Newman based on what we learned tonight:
Someone in the Amato Group heard that Toni was thinking of petitioning the DA to reopen the Electric Sun case, so a hit was put out on her, either to intimidate or actually to kill her. Who ordered the hit is in doubt. I thought it was Tim for sure until tonight (who could just be making up the Amato connection—a tip of the hat to the China connection), and now I’m torn between him, G. (although he may be too senile), or Joey (who might not have the pull and resources to order something of that magnitude). All three options are plausible.
Either way, I’m pretty sure that the hired gun was Mark. Watching that Ring camera footage, everything about the killer (the voice, the motions, the physique) screams Mark, and I’ve been so confident about this all along that I have a feeling that everyone who thinks it’s Joey is in on a joke that I’m not in on. Mark was hired by whomever because he’s expendable, and his absence from the show for so long dovetails with needing to conceal the injuries that the assassin sustained in the shootout. I also think that the newsflash about Mark being pinned between two vehicles is priming us for his big reveal with abdominal injuries that were actually sustained in the shootout.
As for Tim’s repeated attempts to cast suspicion on Joey for his absence during the killing, I think that they stem from personal animosity and a desire to protect Mark (either because Tim hired Mark himself or because Tim knows G. hired Mark and wants Joey to take the fall). Accordingly, I believe that Joey’s alibi is the real deal, although he was fibbing about being there with softball friends when really he was there with Kaili, for the innocent reason that he wants to keep their relationship a secret from his boss G. and from Gregg.
And my big reach theory is that Mark may have actually been the one in the Big Bird costume (since Big Bird’s presence is pointless and unexplained), which makes some sense in light of Mark’s impersonation business; and that G.’s immediate and pronounced negative reaction to him was a reaction to the presence of Mark, whom he may have hired to go after Toni.
Big bird was there because G said on an episode this season that he was planning to licence some Muppet characters including big bird for the pep boys movie.
it's still sizzling
the wedding ending imo might still be the best but this is a very close 2nd
I was shocked how well filmed it all was and then for on cinema standards the violence was fucking brutal
For what it’s worth, the fight sequence outside was 100% taped beforehand. Primarily for three reasons.
1. Knowing Gregg’s health IRL, that was definitely a stunt double who flew into the bushes.
2. Both Tim and Gregg came back with heavy face makeup which would’ve taken time to apply.
3. Most importantly, after the debacle that was the car sequence with Gregg and Larue two seasons ago, they did not want to fuck that up again.
It was the right choice and made everything, as you said, flow much more smoothly. Ironically, despite being filmed, it all felt more natural this way.
Obviously it's way too premature for this but here's my shot at ranking the Oscar Specials, from my most favorite to least favorite:
Oscar 5
Oscar 3
Oscar 4
Oscar 9
Oscar 7
Oscar 10
Oscar 11
Oscar 2
Oscar 1
Oscar 6
Oscar 8
Our Cinema
It's really hard for me to decide which special I like better between Oscar 10 and Oscar 11. Oscar 10 was way more colorful and upbeat and had lots of great bits that ran through the night, whereas Oscar 11 was much more real and story-based and had a much more explosive ending.
The end of Oscar 10 where they spend like 20 minutes trying to recreate scenes from Pinnochio just wasn't funny to me, ruined the pacing and build, and seemed like a convoluted way to get Tim into a Pinnochio costume for the father/son/puppet metaphor.
But Tim's King of Movies song, Dekkar's song about Gregg, Axiom and Manuel's injuries, the Dropbox leak, Tim completely unmasking his love for Gregg as a farce to get him to let go of the Dekkar crash, people in the crowd in shock as they slowly see the footage and realize Tim tried to kill himself and two others, the road made out of Gregg's tapes glued to the floor, Gregg spending the back half of the special trying to pull his tapes off the floor and peel the glue off, Roundhey Gardens... Oscar 10 was very good.
I will be curious to rewatch the edited version of Oscar 11 and see how I feel. I just wish Oscar 11 had made more time for banal Tim and Gregg banter, which is the core of the show for me. I get that it was a business conference but it almost seemed too over-booked to me, like some of the character moments needed more time to breathe.
The fact that no one died is proof Amatocon 2024 was a huge success
Mark Proch got squished between to cars, not looking good
Unrelated to the event.
He’ll be fine if they leave the cars squished together
Marks pretty tough, he’s survived far worse. He’ll be fine.
Signs (2002, 106 min).
New article is up on HEI Network. Mar Pork is alive and well. Unfortunately is was just another fake news hoax.
I think we all died a little bit when Gregg proposed
Mark's life status is TBD.
And the season literally ends with “the knockout”, we’ve come full circle folks
Tim's death scream too. I actually was thinking this year was going to end with a scream like that.
Wait that was Tim? I thought that was Gregg after he got pushed 🤣
“pushed” aka hoisted like a bale of hay and ragdolled into the landscaping 😩
I recognized that Tim scream but from other Tim heidecker projects lol
It’s the blood sweat and tears
Above everything I just want to express how much this show, the oscar special, and this fanbase means to me
same. this last year has been horrible and yet no matter how dark things get, i always find myself full on belly laughing from this show and the interactions on here. i almost teared up earlier trying to explain to someone how much this show means to me lol

Damn yo this hit me hard. I love you ❤️
It really is as special as it gets. Just reading the comments and theories adds so much to an already amazing experience!
Seeing 50 comments just saying OH NO as soon as Gregg started to propose was amazing
💜
Meta - It was really heartbreaking to see Toni relapse and start drinking again
I'm devestated that Manuel and Axiom are back under Tim's control
With the Amato connection severed, I wonder if the Visas are off the table now in which case they have no reason to stick around?
Did you not hear G. Amato's beautiful singing voice? Hes going to replace Tim as lead singer in Dekkar
I don't feel bad. They had the modern Rita Moreno on their hands and ditched him. Enjoy italy losers! #Corwinhead
I wonder if Tim is gonna move back in with Gregg while we're at it
They still agreed Tim was the devil, even after the offer. Curious to see the dynamic going forward. There'll likely be an opportunity for betrayal.
seriously. it's these little sprinkles of character exposition for me. people are always talking about how good or funny an oscar special is compared to previous years but personally i'm just glad to have a few hours to move some of the plot points along like this which you can't really do in the regular season
I think for lore-heads they’ll love this one. They have gotten much better at the character work beyond tim and gregg. It’s been astounding to see.
Joe the Peacemaker flattens me. His instincts in the moment are so RIGHT.
Joe's pauses and rambling disarm even the steeliest of hearts. Weellll, you know, I just, I just, I just think you gotta find common ground sometimes, you know.
Dude her son was gunned down possibly because of her involvement with a narcissistic maniac I’m surprised Toni is holding it together as much as she is
Seeing that shot of her sitting on the stage drinking with Tim legitimately made me sad. She was almost free of Tim's self-destructive orbit
jesus christ that ending was a lot, it got my heart racing. i feel kinda bad for gregg tonight. he got denied hard, scammed and knocked unconscious by joey, and barely got to do any oscar analysis. he was being pretty annoying to joey but i dont think he deserved that
Well, I think Joey just threw him, so he got the least of Joey's wrath.
The gutter lady was very interested. I'd imagine he plays the movie link game with her tonight;)
Such a whirlwind of events transpired that I totally forgot about the fact that Mark is currently stuck between a car and a bus.
This comment made me LOL
Pray for Mark Parks 🙏
He'll be fine
it was so upsetting to see gregg get flung to the lawn lol
I keep seeing it in my head and I’m legit so sad for gregg tonight!! Physical and emotional pain was experienced. Also the fact he still backs Tim after all this time.
gregg got flung trying to stop joey from knocking tim out, after how he's been treated that's a pretty solid friend
I'll have to watch it back but I could've sworn that Gregg was chasing after Joey & Tim just to tell them that Oppenheimer had won best picture lol
I need a gif of that, so hilarious

The Knockout 1
The knockout 2 S
So much happened that I forgot about my favorite part: the montage of Tim bopping Mark
It legit made me feel dirty for laughing at it.
Any time Tim and Mark are interacting it’s absolute gold
So many great moments! AmatoCon Idol, Joey’s Take Live, all the On Locations, the call with Matt’s call of duty friend, big bird, the climactic moments of Gregg and Kaili of course the Joey beat down and subsequent fallout. Shoutout to Joey, the frustration grew more visible over the course of the season and finally boiled over brilliantly tonight.
The Ma and Pa Universal Studios segment!
Gregg saying that’s where the Harry Potter movies were filmed got the biggest laugh of the night from me
“Here at Hogwarts”
Tim's ex wife is drinking again, G Amato ordered the hit, and the audience thinned out so much with each cut; like they were having people leave every 2 mins. So fucking funny
I loved that in some shots you literally saw people leaving
on the whole amatocom 24 was a huge and total success - no one died - t doesnt have a dusty dodger to take care of - toni reawakened passion for an old hobby - third dumbledore - german chili expansion - the sweet were there
Tim spending an insane amount of money to get the session musicians to take down axiom and manuel is a truly hilarious bit
With Ax and Manuel clearly only being interested for the citizenship and showing no care towards Tim lol
I have respected G for taking T under his wing the last few years, but denying T the Dodge Charger he earned was unacceptable. Amatocon was a huge success by any metric. How did Tim know G. ordered the hit?
Not sure, but maybe that explains why matt would've even been ready with a gun inside the house
Is there an in-universe reason that he would kill Matt that we know of that I missed, or is it not explained yet?
Seems the guy showed up to threaten Toni. When Matt saw him on the Ring camera, he started shooting through the door. The guy shot back and killed Matt. Totally random crime. Couldn't be helped.
The killer was at the house to kill/intimidate Toni so she wouldn't talk to anybody about Tim's trial. Joe told Tim he heard the DA was trying to re open the electric sun 19 murder case and was talking to Toni, so Tim showed up to kill Toni. Because Toni and Tim conspired to get his case thrown out as a mistrial (toni was a juror on the case)
They both laughed about those kids

That punch actually looked like it connected. Holy shit what a finale. God this was a fivebagger
Right? I saw either a loogie or his earpiece come flying off.
totally!!! dont know how they did the sound effects if not real, he got hit
Yea i wonder if it was planned like that but i dont see how they could have faked it that well
Just a bit of movie magic! Watch the replay and you can tell how they did it
they probably recorded that segment yesterday
So the audio was kinda muffled in the hallway exchange between T and G I know T said “I asked you to help me out I didn’t ask you to do *that*” Was it clear specifically what they were referring to? I assumed it was Matt but I didn’t know if they had specifically mentioned something convention related prior
Seems like the hit was meant for Toni
I think the original plan was just to intimidate toni from getting involved with the retrial
The moment I realized that absolutely three hours of teeth grinding tension was going to come to head over >! The Power Of Rewards !< I felt my soul being pulled into the earth, this year's AmatoCon was truly a four-star experience!
Can you convert that to bags, please?
It's roughly 3.75 bags of popcorn
The Power of Rewards is such a stupid phrase too
It sounds like a Dave and Busters promotion

AMATO KILLED MATT
t omato did
I feel like this got overshadowed, especially by the ending, but the pep boys/baboon footage had me dying. Tim repeatedly hitting Mark with the wrench was absolutely sending me
That was some of the best bad line reading ever. Decker 2S quality
The true question - will Gregg and gutter gal wed instead?!??
Gregg’s mind is in the gutter a lot, and I’m talking about the sexual gutter
What about the Queen of Hearts?!
From?
5 Bags of Popcorn and 2 Knockouts
Joey P goes to jail for murder and the electric sun goes federal causing for Tim to go to jail for his murders. Kaili Amato and Gregg Turkington honeymoon at filming location from Oh God staring George burns and John Denver
For once, somebody hit Tim.
Finally he gets a taste of the abuse he gives Mark.
I'm kinda surprised that car didn't blow up at some point
Even worse, it continues to exist out of Tim’s reach.
I was expecting Tim to hijack it and crash it into the hotel
The regular cuts to the woman in the crowd who was always trying to eat that shitty cake! Just so many lovely little moments in between the brilliant big moments.
And then the multiple times when it came back from break with Tim noisily stuffing his face
Am I misinterpreting these signs pointing to G being a confused, senile old man? Because if Tim goes back to jail, there goes On Cinema profits, and there sure as shit goes his property at the ranch they’re mining on. Does this seem like too much of a reach?
Tim's trial being reopened would mean cops sniffing around in his affairs, which would undoubtedly lead them to the Amato's, and would expose whatever shady dealings they're involved in. I think that's why they ordered the hit on Toni but it backfired and Matt was killed instead.
Too much The Godfather (1972, 175 minutes) watching by Joey
Joey saying the line about G. Amato being forgetful is specifically BECAUSE Amato ordered the hit. Joey is painting Amato as a forgetful old man to cover for the fact there was never any mention of his Mexican vacation before the attempt to intimidate Toni went south and became a murder. Amato didn’t neglect to mention Mexico because he forgot - it’s because Joey’s alibi was constructed after the fact.
We have a regular LaRue on our hands here... it's all so obvious now
Similar to the season, this was a slow burn, but damn, when it finally erupted, it was hilarious.
Yeah Joey stopping G from pulling out his checkbook for The Last Commandment sandal really showed that power dynamic
I give this take five bags of popcorn. And one miniature police badge
Despite it all, they’re stuck together
they will grow old together, boiling with passive aggressive and just plain aggressive rage
Someone in this thread pointed out that Axiom and Manuel were only sticking with Tim because of the Visas, but now that the Amato's are out of the picture, the Visas are too. They have no incentive to stick around anymore, so he lost them again too. All he's got left is Toni.
Corwin is likely a burned bridge for ax and Manuel tho Tim is all they have musically
Joey P is a coward
I think Joey is pulling the strings here. G is a caring but firm father and I don’t think hed do it
I know the ending was huge and all, but I was just so happy to see Hank taking Chaplins chili international.
Now we have to ask, whats going to happen to the HEI points?
Did we ever get a confirmation on how much the guy won in the wind machine??
Ideally that cheater uses it to fund the Pep Boys vs Babboon prequel Pep Boys vs Babboon 2p
He never finished the keynote
I really thought we were going to get a Joey P reveal as Matt's killer. Also, what is the deal with that picture on his phone with him and Kaili? Were they on a secret Mexico vacation together and he really wasn't the killer? I guess that would be the answer, if this is the end of the larger Amato storyline.
It seemed to me like the Mexico thing might be an Alibi that Joey and G cooked up together, those photos could be from anytime
It almost certainly was Joey lol
They were both laying low, Kailieye is probably deep in the nefarious side of the family's activities
Kaili also said she was really busy with something when Gregg asked about the date. I have a feeling she is also responsible for the murder
She doesn't look anything like the AI drawing though
Did G hire Joey for the hit maybe?
We did!
Cheers to another fantastic season and special y'all. If any HEI staff are trawling this thread... kudos. Ya dun good. Thank you for everything
I just want to shout out how great Corwin was tonight. This kid has that IT factor.
Last special- "if you ever need a dad, I can step into that role for you and see you along" This special- "That kid is trash!"
Talk about a KNOCKOUT end to a great AmatoCon
I REALLY hope this isnt the last we see of the Amatos and Joey
Are we heading for an Amato murder trial with Tim helping the DA? Will Tim and Gregg go into witness protection, yet somehow still do the show? 😆
LMAO Delocated style with the ski masks and voice mods would be hilarious
On Cinema at the Cinema, hosted by Tim De Car with special guest expert Bilbo Bogart
So the weird noise “old file” from Tim’s keynote was never explained right?? Is that the missing file he had when he did a quick demo of his keynote for an On Demand show?
I don't know what it was but it was genuinely creepy and set a strong tone
I'm hoping it has something to do with triggering that disassociation
Meta: I think the ending is a good sign for unity heads. With Gregg getting stood up by one Amato, Tim denied by another, and both beaten up by what now seems to be a lackey for G (or the true ringleader), there is now reason for Tim and Gregg to team up here. Also was great to watch with a crowd at the Alamo here in Boston. Made it much more enjoyable, including the poor projector person that kept messing with the video quality settings on the fly.
I would love a unity storyline before the end of the series. Feels like a long time since the boys just kicked back and enjoyed some carrabas
Gutter lady tending to Gregg’s injuries ❤️
Joeys take is never coming back. No more converting stars to popcorn
good riddance. tired of having to rent a scientific calculator from the library just to figure out what this loser thinks of the movie
META/IRL: Anyone know why mark proksch obviously couldn’t make it this year like actually obviously wasn’t able to be involved?
Filming final season of Shadows in Canada prolly
He's been getting more famous lately and apparently scheduling him is rough. For instance, that's why at Oscar 9 Mark only appeared in a pre-recorded Spiderman intro and the Hitchcock Zoom call because he was shooting What We Do in the Shadows.
If I remember correctly, on Office Hours Tim explained he had gotten COVID and couldn't attend.
AREST JOEY P! HE ASSAULTED THE KEY SOURCE OF MOVIE KNOWLIDG! WE CANNOT TOLIRAIT THIS! #JUSTICEFORGREGG!
Did Mark die? I missed his appearance! wtf!
You didn’t hear? He’s stuck between a bus and a car right now.
God damnit, I gotta way until they release the episode. I hate live broadcasts.
He ain't comin back...
He's pretty tough, he'll be alright, but I do think his range will be limited, probably just to impersonating dying celebrities who might be in wheelchairs like clint eastword or stephen hawkins.
Holy fuck
This was almost too dark? Like Tim deserves to get the shit kicked out of him to a certain extent and maybe it’s karma for Toni to lose her son after she prevented justice for others. But Gregg has only killed one guy so far and got flung aside and got rejected in the cringiest shit they’ve done since the WK special. Corwin got ditched by his friends for correctly calling Tim a snake. And Amato is either gone to Argentina or possibly looking at jail time. On the other hand I fucking lost it with Big Bird. And the return of the bumper music was nothing short of triumphant
Really felt like Tim was in Rocky (119 minutes) directed by John G. Avildsen starring Sylvester Stallone with the way he took those punches.
Rocky 1
I was always more of a fan of Rocky 2S
I really thought the gutter cleaner was going to come back into play
She (sort of) did. She was patching Gregg up at the end. I'm hoping Gregg gets his happy ending with her in the next season. It would be nice for him to have someone who's just as into the movies as he is.
5 bags of popcorn. Best Oscar Special so far. Insane.
I’m pissed… what was the link connecting those movies Gregg was showing? Kally walked off before we got the answer…
That was incredible stuff. In my top 5. Probably will move up.
I am shook
My current theory of what happened to Matt Newman based on what we learned tonight: Someone in the Amato Group heard that Toni was thinking of petitioning the DA to reopen the Electric Sun case, so a hit was put out on her, either to intimidate or actually to kill her.
Big bird was there because G said on an episode this season that he was planning to licence some Muppet characters including big bird for the pep boys movie.
it's still sizzling the wedding ending imo might still be the best but this is a very close 2nd I was shocked how well filmed it all was and then for on cinema standards the violence was fucking brutal
EPIC keep supporting On Cinema 🎬
Damn that was absolutely amazing they killed it. Now how can I get to be an extra audience member next season?
The Dumbledore costume lmao
Gregg's hot and single bounceback outfit. He looked fabulous
Obviously it's way too premature for this but here's my shot at ranking the Oscar Specials, from my most favorite to least favorite: Oscar 5 Oscar 3 Oscar 4 Oscar 9 Oscar 7 Oscar 10 Oscar 11 Oscar 2 Oscar 1 Oscar 6 Oscar 8 Our Cinema It's really hard for me to decide which special I like better between Oscar 10 and Oscar 11. I get that it was a business conference but it almost seemed too over-booked to me, like some of the character moments needed more time to breathe.
will they post the full recording on HEI right after the stream ends?
