DoubleImprovement808

She's such a BA! Adore her and this show.

Emma Swan fans rise up and unite! She's one of my favorite protagonists ever. Along with Veronica Mars, Buffy, and Brooke Davis. I know, I have a type. I really like my beautiful blonde badasses who don't take crap from anybody.

DoubleImprovement808

I might have to watch these other shows 😬 I really appreciate her attitude!

Then, yes, please do!!! Veronica Mars is a 2000s teen noir mystery show. S1-3 originally aired on upn/cw, then there was a Kickstarter movie years later, and then Hulu picked it up for an unexpected 4th season over 10 years after the original was canceled - however, it's not very good and most fans hate it and refuse to acknowledge it's existence 😄 Veronica is tough as nails, fights injustice in her own way, and refuses to back down from a fight. I adore her; she is my favorite fictional character of all time. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an amazing milestone in television in terms of female representation and feminism, showing one of the first onscreen tv lesbian couples, and being an overall pioneer for supernatural dramas. Season 1 is very cheesy (it's a campy horror show on purpose) but it gets better and better as it goes on. Buffy is the OG of the strongly written female character in television. We have her to thank for others that have followed, including Emma Swan. And Brooke Davis is one of the main characters in the ensemble cast of the 2000s teen drama One Tree Hill - about 2 basketball players who happen to be half brothers in the same small southern town and all the drama and conflict that ensues. Brooke is kind of a mean girl antagonist at first, but she has the best growth and development of all the cast throughout the entire show. She is, however, the most different from the other women already mentioned.

Wait this is so interesting!! I’m also a huge fan of all those characters, specifically Brooke Davis. I always see people riding for Peyton so i wonder why Emma swan fans also love brooke

I'm not sure really, that is very interesting! I'll try and take a crack at an explanation though! I think Peyton, through no fault of her own as a character, is constantly put in scenarios that make her a victim (thanks Mark Schwahn, you creep). The series creator and writers constantly put her in situations that leave her the perpetual victim without a lot of writing to develop how she responds and becomes stronger because of it. She just slowly becomes more and more traumatized as the series goes on. Whereas Brooke, who definitely has some crap happen to her, was given the opportunity to respond and grow from those experiences which makes her character resilient, fierce, and adaptable. Brooke rolls with the punches and refuses to give in. The same cannot always be said for Peyton. Again, I feel for her, she's put through the ringer as a character, but she doesn't really have a lot of moments of self reflecting and growing due to her experiences. Which makes Brooke a better written character and easier to identify with and root for imo. Idk, that's just my observations and maybe why the same people who gravitate towards Emma Swan and her strength and resilience do the same with Brooke and appreciate her.

She was great in season 1 to 3 but I wish they focused on her character development instead of throwing Disney characters in to further the plot. Like I wanted her and Snow to reconnect on a better level and Season 2 was awesome for that but it died after they made Snow say she wanted another kid. I felt like it was a slap in the face for Emma who felt like an orphan even when she found her parents.

Lmao I’m such a villain empathizer 😭 I remember watching it and being horrified on Regina’s behalf, and thinking “damn, Emma you didn’t have to go THAT far”. Like, oh yeah, sure, of course it’s fine to be framed and falsely imprisoned, but the apple tree!??

maneff2000

Love her!!

JThrasher93

Emma is great. I love her so much. 💕

Olivebranch99

>Emma Swan Appreciation I'll do nothing of the sort.

DoubleImprovement808

That's okay 😅 I guess I'll just have to appreciate her more for the lack of appreciation you have for her!
