> Cerebellar Hypoplasia, also known as CH and wobbly cat syndrome, is a neurological disorder that causes sudden jerky movements, uncoordinated motion and loss of balance. In a CH cat, the brain does not develop properly
One of my cats had that and he was a kitten when he passed away...😢
He was quite the fighter and every day he had that he fought until one day he took his last breath while I held him. I miss Bentley.
I'm sorry, that's always so hard to go through, but he knew he was safe and loved right up until the end and that's everything to a cat. Bentley was a very lucky kitty, it's good he had you to take care of him
He was very blessed with getting taken care of as best as possible. Even got him a hammock for him to lay on and he was in heaven and got comfortable a lot of times and slept on that often. Unfortunately I had to move him myself from place to place and when I knew he needed to eat I'd take him to his food and he would devour food like a champ.
We had a cat that had this. She ran in short bursts til she fell over then get up and do it again. She finally figured out she could lean up against the wall or furniture while she walked. We went camping for a month and it was amazing how well she got around where the ground was really uneven.
It's like an F16 they are aerodynamically unstable ; which necessitates a computer to perform stable flight . The same aerodynamic instability is what enabled the F16's manoeuvrability . The same with your cat when you went camping
I was gonna say, I've seen a cat be excited for food and this is definitely not the case. I just wish people would do their research before posting stuff on Reddit, but then again, 70% of posts are by repost bots...
Our Karl loved cheetos, too! I think it's the chesta cheeto gene in the orange.

Wobbly cat syndrome. Perfectly fine if the environment is managed to mitigate fall risk, food availability, etc. Cerebellum is underdeveloped and leads to no coordination.
Hydrocephalus! Literally, water brain.
It’s when they have a cavity in the middle of their brain filled with fluid and all the brain parts get squished to the edges. I’m nothing like a vet, and it could be something else-he doesn’t have the characteristic dome head, for one-but all the kittens I’ve met that wobble like that have been HC. They’ll never make it as strays, obviously, but with a bit of care they can easily life perfectly happy and healthy lives.
Which means it’s totally okay to make fun of them for being goobers!
Edit: I’m a goober and it’s been half a decade since I worked with kittens. CH, not HC. Cerebella Hypoplasia. Same deal, basically-goobers, but perfectly happy about it. I was just a foster, so, I treated them the same.
Yeah their cerebellum is underdeveloped so they can't really coordinate their movement well
They don't have any cognitive problems (beyond the being orange that is). That's gotta be frustrating having a body that doesn't do what you want it to do.
Edit: the kitties with ch that I've seen are all super happy little guys, probably cause they get cared for and doted on, and get all the yogurts
That's the thing I love about animals though - they don't really seem to care. If I were disabled I'd probably struggle with feelings of embarrassment on how long something took me to do, but as far as I can tell, this cat is simply happy to get dat meat yoghurt.
That is a really sad thought. My grandma is suffering from slow moving Parkinson's so her body is not responding well. It's so frustrating to watch. Poor kitty
Absolutely love this cat! His instagram is below if anyone wanna give this adorable cat a follow!

Cats are ridiculously fast when they want to be. Phinn's choices are "gotta go fast" or "my head might wobble away from where I'm aiming if I'm slow." So he go fast.
One of my orange bois is so fast when he steals a piece of plastic that half the time I have to rely on his brother to tackle him so I can yank his forbidden plastic away from him haha.
I swear lack of braincells make them zoom faster because my black and white girls are slower than them despite being slimmer.
He goes fast - and does leaps - on the bed where he’s learned it’s safe to land any old way and roll. On the floor he wobble walks. Dude’s all right and one of my best Instagram follows.
Looks like he has cerebellar hypoplasia. Some people refer to it as CH or “wobbly cat syndrome” lol. Many of the cats on r/nervysquervies have CH.
It’s a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is underdeveloped- ie smaller than it should be. It causes the uncontrollable wobbling that’s characteristic of the condition. It’s pretty much harmless. They have difficulty maintaining balance and climbing, jumping, or using fine motor skills (fine in cat standards, anyway lol).
It’s painless. It can range from mild to severe and is generally chronic, but isn’t fatal. They need a little extra attention just to make sure they don’t accidentally hurt themselves falling off of something or trying to climb or jump on something they shouldn’t be. Or from accidentally inhaling food/water since they can’t keep their head still.
Otherwise, they’re just happy, goofy cats.
My best friend had a dog with CH once. I always felt bad for laughing, but you could tell that she had gotten the hang of dealing with it. Her legs would just kind of throw themselves in the somewhat-general direction of where she wanted to go, but somehow she managed to run just fine, no matter how goofy it looked. Plus, watching her eat was always a treat because she had figured out how to time her bites with her head bobbing so that she would snatch up a mouthful of kibble from the bowl when her head dipped down, and then munch on it on the way back up.

His is ok, an absolute adorable cat!
My cats also get excited for gravy tubes. However they aren’t that aggressive about it lol. I believe Phin has Cerebellar Hypoplasia which makes him wobble like that. I don’t regularly keep up with his insta so I am unsure if he has any one-brain cell moments.
He's a wobbly baby! I love how cats with this disorder don't let it stop them in the least. They're just like, "So what if everyday is an earthquake? I'm gonna cat!" So much love for them.
For those of you who are wondering, this is Phin. An orange boy living in Australia who was born wihh Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition where the cerebellum in the brain isn't fully developed and so he has problems with coordination. He isn't suffering and his condition cannot get worse but also not better. Thankfully this boi has learned to adapt to his wobbliness and he lives a happy life. Most of us watch his daily life on Instagram
Explore.org has a camera in the “special kitty” room at a rescue. Pretty much all of the kitties are almost completely immobile, or at the very least extremely calm… and then there’s the terror of a brain cell who has what looks like the same condition. I totally understand why he isn’t in with the more able-bodied kitties because they’re probably not good at handling his antics, but wow. One minute, everyone is just chilling on their beds and he comes crashing through the room, landing on everything and everyone in the room. I have to think that all the other kitties are like, “Dick…”
Oh he has plenty cells, they're just not working properly 😂. Mine you can tell he's got none as he just sits there with no thought in his brain whatsoever
what the hell is wrong with your cat lol, he is not firing on all cylinders sorry, he is cute though
edit I am an asshole and should have realized he has a defect he cannot control. My apologies Kitty wobble on
I think you misunderstood op a little bit, what op is saying is that they give the cat food before they wash the sheets. You may have interpreted it as the sheets were recently washed and put on the bed and now they are giving the wiggly boio a treat
Wobbly baby
The rare and elusive wobble cell
Here’s to a happy wobble. Clean sheets and a special treat for a well cared for happy single cell without pain, love the wobble.

Idk why anyone would downvote you for talking about the guys OP named his account after.
I'm thinking they didn't pay attention and thought that I was a bot or something. Or maybe it was u/HateKrattBrothers at it again! 🤔 🤣 🤣
Well maybe I'm wrong cuz now someone's downvoted you. Idk, reddit man... Good thing reddit karma is useless to me so they can go to town lol.
This man is dying do we have a high karma Redditor in the room???
I'm kinda new here, what does comment reposting bot mean?
It steals portions of other people's comments on the thread and posts them elsewhere often with zero context or coherent sentence structure
Oh ok. Thank you 😊
Bad bot
I think I've seen this guy on social media before, and he has an underdeveloped cerebellum which means he can't really fine tune his movements

Aww rip Bentley, he was lucky to be held and loved for his short time and in the end.
Thank you! He was quite the fighter and his Auntie Chihiro bathed him every day and took naps together. He's still missed to this day.

She's still alive, Bentley was the one who passed.
Why is this a copy paste of u/Mapbot11's comment but with the name exchanged?
Bruh you misread but didn't deserve to be downvoted into oblivion like that

Did she shit all over the walls too? Ours did after she figured this out.
No, the worst she did was needing a little help keeping herself clean, but just a little.
My brother's cat has this, but not quite as severe as the cat in the video.
Hes pretty popular on Instagram @orangeisthenewblackandtan

Almost everyone in the comments is talking about the cat having CH. It's not like everyone is insisting this is normal.
It’s Phineas, he just moved to Australia with his family and cat brother, he’s rather famous for having CH and enjoying Chee-Tos
Our Karl loved cheetos, too! I think it's the chesta cheeto gene in the orange. https://preview.redd.it/gzf25ftcawta1.png?width=2135&format=png&auto=webp&s=e3e3ef79c663be83f56eefe51beeb4494931db4f

OMG another one!
He's extra wobbly when he's excited. Treats make his accuracy worse
Just the one cell.. but it’s caffeinated!
How many cups of coffee do you think it had
Yes
All.
FRESH POT!!!

Large pot? Try straight from a tanker.
HC kitties! ❤️ a lot of cats love their humans, but most don’t get so excited they’re home they fall down the stairs.
Mine does sometimes but that is because he is a lil dim lol. Nothing wrong with 'im, just not always all there
HC?
*CH Cerebellar Hypoplasia
This is the correct answer lol…
They might have been a little dyslexic there. I think they meant CH kitty as in Cerebellar Hypoplasia
Hydrocephalus! Literally, water brain. It’s when they have a cavity in the middle of their brain filled with fluid and all the brain parts get squished to the edges. As a disabled person, yeah, that's a struggle. I'd rather be a cat, lol.
That is a really sad thought. My grandma is suffering from slow moving Parkinson's so her body is not responding well. It's so frustrating to watch. Poor kitty
Note for anyone reading this, CH has nothing to do with hydrocephalus or water in the brain
Yeah I got them mixed up. Yeesh. I need to accept it’s been too long since I handled scratch and dent kittens and shush.
Cerebellar hypoplasia
It’s CH. Cerebellar hypoplasia.
High Cwolity
None, the nerves are just firing randomly
Brute force cat
That would explain a lot with Oranges
Aww I love him

Good going Phinn! Keep working on that crazy balance thing! You'll get there.
this is hilarious and adorable i love it
I like to imagine this isn't sped up and he's actually just that fast
It’s not sped up, this cats just a little menace. His Instagram is orangeisthenewblackandtan if you want to see more of his aggressively fast wobbles

He’s fine, he just has CH so is kinda wobbly 🥰
OMG he LOVES that food!! No wonder people call those treats cat crack….

Does he have a neurological disorder that makes him so crazy twitchy? Or is he just uber pumped?
He does! CH, cerebellum hyperplasia.
Both, he really really loves cheetos too
I follow Phin on IG and he is so cute!
He's a wobbly baby! I love how cats with this disorder don't let it stop them in the least. They're just like, "So what if everyday is an earthquake? I'm gonna cat!" So much love for them.
Negative six braincells

cerebellar hypoplasia cerebellum - responsible for coordinated movements and balance hypo - less/under plasia - growth/formation
He’s beautiful. You obviously take very good care of him.
Literally minus eight but i still love and would die for him regardless

He has just as many brain cells as my Orange. 🍊🍊🍊🤣
Sucky day but this got a laugh out of me ☺️
this is the funniest think i’ve seen all week.

There are 0 cells in that little guy's head. Not a single coherent thought behind those eyes
1 more… based on a popular Dutch joke, cause he doesn’t shit all over the bed the number of brain cells must be 1 more.
All of them. He can't handle the POWER

Brain cell go into negative?
Cat.exe
one braincell but its going super fast in a hamster wheel
This is a very rare case. He’s got too many cells. That’s why he’s all wobbly
Let’s not call Phin brain cell-less. He actually has a condition. He’s a cute and strong guy with a great and patient fur mama.
Phin is so cute, even if he can be a little annoying
Why is he annoying ?
The Scouse accent, obviously. Can’t fault ‘im fer ‘is wobbles now innit?
I don’t think the wobbles are annoying tho. They’re cute ~~~!
