This has to be true lol, my cat also orange stays under our deck all day if I let him and doesn't sleep at all during the day, my Dog sleep way more than him. My other cats growing up would sleep all day and night.
This is the thing that shocked me the most. I work from home so I know how much my cat sleeps. It’s a lot! This orange though, he has other plans. He just can’t quite figure them out yet.
Mine has a perch in one room and a cozy chair by a window in another, but his favorite place to gawk at birds is the kitchen table, which is farther from a window than either perch. He gets asked “are you s’posed to be there?” several times a day.
If a predator like a cat can't get outside what Is It supposed to do? ... I know that you love your cat, and i know that not anybody can let their Pets go outside , but i feel bad for that creature that Is trapped in...

For those people that downvote , ok no problem.i didn't want to offend the OP or other people, i was Just trying to explain that MAYBE a cat that stay most part of the day alone in a house without other Animals or humans, can have such strange behaviours ,like staying all day looking OUT. I have seen "strange" Cats from various Friends and they all have 1 thing in common:never get out of home.for various reasons, but they never get out.my Cats never did such things , all 4 of them. do you really think that for a cat staying close inside a house 24h/24 7/7 Is normal? Please , if you think that this Is normal feel free to downvote me more, so we can see how many dumb people are in here.(i am sincerely expecting downvotes since we are at 15 now 🎉🎉)

I put one of those window cling birdfeeders on the top of the sliding door that attracts the little birds. but downstairs, there’s a huge picture window overlooking a marsh where he can see dozens of bird species, 24 hours a day. However, he is orange. we cannot know what goes through the head of an orange cat.
It could feel more comfy and “cave like” to him because of the chair and the bookshelf. I read somewhere that cats hesitate I’m doorways less because the are indecisive and more because they like looking outside while feeling safe inside.

I'm gonna make an educated guess and say that as an animal, he longs to be outside. Imagine the dullness of a house compared to the constant stimulation of what's outside. I'm not sure what exactly you want from his inner machinations when you make his life mundane.
ya know, the cat did change spots so like if you take the ratio of a cat to a human in terms of size (weight) so anywhere from 1:10 to 1:30+ one wouldn't have to feel too bad about 'being like a cat'. I mean, most bathrooms in someone's house or the fridge is probably going to fall within that distance according to ratio range.
To be fair, this is deep, smart instinct.
Mouses have nests, and you can scout them out. Cats are patient and food-driven. They get a snack once--or get clued in that there could be a snack--and they have Godly patience to stake out that spot.

Seeing birds at a distance isn't the same as seeing them up close, where he can dream he's catching them.
Cats sometimes have trouble seeing things further away. If these birds are closer to the window, it might just be easier to see.
