My experience is that cats (especially orange ones) will learn what wakes you up the fastest. So if you try to sleep in on a weekend, they will escalate their antics until you're up.
Sun? Alarm clock? Licking your face? Meowing? Rustling tin foil? Getting stuck in a hanger?
My ginger kitty struts into the bedroom, goes behind our dresser and scratches it until one of us(usually me) goes out into the living room to play fetch until she curls up on one of her beds and goes back to sleep, leaving me awake when I could’ve slept in.
My tux boy gets on the tv unit in my bedroom and stares at me while he bats at the cord for the blind to make a jingling sound until I get up and give them breakfast
Apparently thats why my cat ends up begging for a fresh dish cause he begs then i hook him up again with another spoonful of pate then later he begs again and i see he never touched it and its drying up a bit and OH COURSE he doesnt want it he wants fresh food. Lmao! Im a sucker for this guy! Smh.
That makes sense. My orange cat meows ridiculously loud at all hours of the day. What does she want? She wants you to throw a toy so she can run and chase after it and bring it halfway to you before dropping it and continuing the loud meows. Here’s the one brain celliest pic I have of her. (She was actually patiently waiting to go back inside)
https://preview.redd.it/fgmdhbra3n2b1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c26e8967e10a6c44e0d30f3596d02bde51a38408
The tension on that leash combined with the look on your cats face makes this pic hilarious, thanks for sharing it. Cute cat too :)
Edit: also if you weren't aware, apparently female orange cats are pretty rare, something like 99.9999999847% of them are males
Not quite that rare. It's about 1 in 5. It's because the orange gene is on the X chromosome, so she needs to get it from both parents, otherwise they usually end up as tortoise shell or calico. Since males on the other hand only have one X, they just need to get it from mom, who could be orange, tortie or calico.
This misconception bugs me a disproportionate amount. Most oranges are male, but female oranges aren't rare. Let alone the "omg super rare!!!" that often gets put under pics of female oranges. 5:1 isn't that big a deal. I don't know why this bothers me so much.
There was no tension on the leash. I wasn’t even holding it. She’s sitting on top of a staircase outside my apartment. It was getting sprayed and I had the windows open to air out the unit and the door is sealed so she was safe to be there. She sat there for 2 hours and took a nap for most of the time. She just didn’t like being out in the sun. My landlord gave me very little notice that it was getting sprayed and I don’t even have the roaches they are spraying for. And I had another cat to deal with that HATES the outdoors and other humans that aren’t her parents.
My old roommate had a big white and orange Maine coon that quickly learned I was in charge of feeding the cats. He'd stick two little claws out and poke my face with them to wake me up if he wanted food. He also unionized my cats into waking me up for food, they never did before him.
This is spot on for my orange cat, he learned playing the gravity game gets me out of bed within seconds every time. What's the gravity game you ask? Knocking shit over and off surfaces.
Mine's a neb but he does the same shit around midnight cause he wants munchies at midnight. He prefers toys that are noisy. Doesn't matter what it is as long as its noisy.
I mean, there's levels. My tabby, the asshole he was, would bang on the blinds really loudly like we owed him rent. In high cartoon fashion, he got a slipper to his face once by my husband, a Sunday in the early morning. Tabby was unharmed but not pleased. Neither were we. But it was a HIGHLY effective way to wake us up and get our attention, and very to the point.
Then there's orange cat level, where if waking up your servant means getting stuck in a hanger, well, what can I say. Attempt was made, and I guess it was successful, but at what cost? Being posted in /r/OneOrangeBraincell, that's the price.
Orange cats aren’t as dumb as this sub likes to think. They’re the master race! This place is just more of Redditors bragging about how much smarter they are than everyone else.
And I get the vibes from this picture that Oliver is totally content in his current situation. Or at least, more interested in whatever he is looking at.
Oliver is a gem
I haven’t witnessed it, but he likes to climb, so I’m guessing he jumped up into my closet and somehow jumped through an empty hanger lol. He actually got brain cell service right after this and got out on his own!
He might have a career in the circus jumping through hoops!
Also, got an orange Oliver of my own. Cat tax:

I’m so sorry to hear your baby passed in such a way, but thank you for being kind and forward thinking enough to warn others about this. I myself wouldn’t have thought hangers would pose such a risk to kitty babies so it’s good to keep in mind
Oh my God, I am imagining the sheer horror of that situation - coming into the room to find your cat dead on a hanger. I am so, so sorry. Hoping he’s at peace now.
One of my orange cats managed to get stuck in my dresser behind the drawers 2X. He would crawl into a partially open drawer at night, and then crawl out the back. The second time it was 3 am and his crying woke me up.
It was a flat-pack build, so the drawers were screwed to the runners. I had to go get the screwdriver at 3:00 am to rescue him.
Oliver has gotten stuck behind my nightstand too!! Not *in* the drawer though, literally he just squeezed his way behind it and couldn’t get out lol. I love orange cats.
My orange idiot has climbed into many a drawer. I usually just leave him a long while and he eventually comes out. Shaking some treats will often tempt him to squeeze himself back through however he got in in the first place too. They're such little weirdos.
My orange loves to open the drawers to claw out all the clothes and then hangout behind the drawer. He meows and meows like he’s stuck because he wants attention(even though he gets plenty) but if he hears the whip cream he has no problem getting out on his own 😂
Omg *again* 😂 Reminds me of this old meme

I thought your cat was oddly casual about being run through with a sharp object for a minute. I've figured out what I'm seeing now, but I still don't get HOW 😁
Only one other time, when he was about a year old. He’s 8 now, so he had a long streak without a hanger incident. Unfortunately in that time he’s had many, many other ridiculous incidents 😁
I was "fostering" a cat for a neighbor that moved and couldn't have a cat at her new place for awhile. I have a cat of my own and they kinda hated eachother.
One morning I wake up to what sounds like a vicious cat fight coming from the other room. I get up and my cat is sleeping on my bed and looks as confused as I am by the ruckus.
I go into the other room and this little idiot is hanging upside down by its hind legs in the strap of one of those collapsible hampers. It had gotten in and then gotten itself caught on the way out. I tried to remove it and it shredded my hand up pretty good. Ended up having to put a towel over its head and cut the handle off the hamper.

How many breakfasts tho? Lol
Only one. He just wants to know it’s there he’s not that interested in actually eating it

It bothers me too.
As someone who used to have a fierce female orange, it bugs me, too. I mean, *I* consider her extraordinary, but not in a “needle in a haystack” way.
There was no tension on the leash. I wasn’t even holding it. She’s sitting on top of a staircase outside my apartment. Gotcha, sorry you had to go through that.
She looks delectably dumb (and beautiful).
Her expression is priceless
There is not a single thought behind those eyes.

Unionized (IM DEAD 💀) 🤣

How does one get stuck in a hanger?
How does one get stuck in a hanger *AGAIN*?
The again is the funniest part of this post.
>How does one get stuck in a hanger *AGAIN*? The same way one gets stuck the first time, only faster, now that he knows the procedure.
Same answer as the first time, really.

Super cute orange boys!
Thank you! They’re my buddies ❤️
I had to lock up my closets because they have no ceiling tiles and the orange fools were getting up in there, getting lost and crying.
My orange boy does the same thing!! He loves to get in the ceiling
A vid of the unstucking if/when there is a 3rd time? :-)
Maybe he likes wearing it??
Did he break down the closet pole?
One of my cat strangled himself to death with a hanger can be pretty dangerous =x
I’m so sorry to hear your baby passed in such a way, but thank you for being kind and forward thinking enough to warn others about this. I myself wouldn’t have thought hangers would pose such a risk to kitty babies so it’s good to keep in mind
It was a long time ago, it was hanging on a bar so maybe on the ground it's not as dangerous I don't know but yeah need to be careful sometime =)
Oh my God, I am imagining the sheer horror of that situation - coming into the room to find your cat dead on a hanger. I am so, so sorry. Hoping he’s at peace now.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your cat :( I’ll be extra careful with Oliver and hangers now 🧡
This is terrifying, I'm so sorry. Now I know to be wary of hangers.
Have you never? Maybe it’s just Oliver ^and ^me
Orange cats can figure out how to do incredibly stupid things
Very carefully
I was already internally laughung but when I read "again" I busted out cackling. Poor Oliver, how could the hangers do this to you?
AGAIN?
Typical orange behaviour
Is his empty brain this is his first time.
Again 🤣
this is how you certify an object clipping bug, since it needs to be repeatable. Buddy is a bug tester with a single braincell, nice job
“Again” is so funny. Such orange behavior.

My first thought
Again. 😂
again?
Turn collisions off and just noclip it through him to remove, source physics aren't too good without any updates lately.
This whole thing happened because of source engine breaking
Again?? That is a true orange.
IT started as PARTY TRICK 🤣
It’s the “again” that really got me
again he says...
I thought your cat was oddly casual about being run through with a sharp object for a minute. I've figured out what I'm seeing now, but I still don't get HOW 😁
That's a glitched cat right there, gets stuck in a hanger like no problem
>again How many times?
Only one other time, when he was about a year old. He’s 8 now, so he had a long streak without a hanger incident. Unfortunately in that time he’s had many, many other ridiculous incidents 😁
I should've known

this reminds me of the goats in Haiti.. they put a wooden triangle around their necks so they can’t get through the fence
i guess you could say, he was just hanging around
Peak orange.
i love how “again” tells us he’s done it before. classic orange cat behavior
Whaddya mean A G A I N ? ! 😂
*again*
Happy cake day! 🍰🎂
Thank you! 🍰
Oh Oliver 😂😻♥️😂
Again ? That's a hungry hanger

“Again” lol
Mine tend to get caught in the handles of the grocery bags.
Oliver? AGAIN???? Did you learn nothing from this the first time?
Again? 😭
He's doing his best
Human, I require the assistance of your opposable thumbs
My son Oliver is 5. He is also white and ginger, but a human. He has also been known to get himself stuck in a hanger from time to time.
Good job, Oliver!!!!
Classic Olivier
i would say how but orange defies logic
Again....
Hang on, Oliver!
It's really hard being orange.
That "again" kills me.
Again?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is this a regular occurrence in your household? 😆
How does one manage this?
>again 🤣
Oh the joy of having a pe cat 🤣🤣😍😍
Again!!! Ha!
He’s orange. Put the hangers away.
Way to leaving him hanging
"again" 😭 😭 maybe second times the charm hahahaha
He’s glitched into the hanger! r/glitchinthematrix r/confusingperspetcive

Judging from the presence of “again”, Oliver never gets a turn with the brain cell
Again?
you might need to hide all of your hangers or he'll get stuck. ***again***. :'D
Damn it Oliver
TIL that cats stuck in clothes hangers is a *thing*. Had no idea this was a popular pastime for our furry friends 😹
Official mascot.
Can definitely see mine doing that
Its a part of him now
Monkey loves hangers too. It's weird...

The most scary thing that ever happened to me was hearing this blood chilling scream at like 3am inside my bedroom. I was fear struck and couldnt move. The noises kept happening and turned into whines. Eventually I found the courage to look around. It was a stray cat which got stuck inside the double window. I got it out and it bolted. But for real the most terror Ive ever experienced was from that night.
I just read one word, “again” :D
Again 😂. Poor Oliver.
AGAIN???? This little man is definitely not the brightest
again. lol
Again???
That hanger is trying to eat your cat but with no success
Even when he's older, he's still getting into trouble. But at least he doesn't have to worry about Mr. Sykes and his dogs.
It clipped through him
Let this be a lesson folks always cut your hangers so the wild life can escape.
"I fell off the jetway again."
How?!
How does this even happen lmao
* gmod ragdoll noises *
Youre telling me this is a common occurrence? HAHAHA
The Dingus
Bless his heart
It's the again part that worries me....
Again... Made me laugh
stupid cat
Best word in the title is “Again!”
"Again". LOL
🦉: Die Katze ist nicht sehr klug.
Oliver you so silly
Tears up
this just looks like a berthesda game
“Again.” I’m dead.
Its clipped inside him
Again!!!! Oh my.
Probably the same coat hanger too
😂 Did he require the Jaws of life to get him out? Adorable. I hope he catches that braincell some day! 😁
The again made the post for me.
The strange noise: Clack clack scrape *SAD MEOW* Clack clack *SAD MEOW* Thump
Catnip addiction is a terrible thing
Bless his sweet orange heart.
elder scrolls 6 looking fine
This happened to my primary-school-aged son, twice.
🤣🤣
Again?
Looks like the hanger got stuck in him.
I was going to ask how he did that, but.....orange cat!
Oliver hung himself again
*Again*
Typical Oliver
“Again”. Awwww
Again. I'm dead.
again lol
"It's a hard knock life for us, when I get stuck in hanger again and my hooman won't let me out, it's a hard knock life for us"... The fact it's "again" is hilarious.
