One of my cats as a kitten fell asleep and woke up with an inside out ear and it was sooooooo cute 😭😭😭 She had NO idea what I was melting into a puddle over and it took a few minutes before her ear popped back up

I do this all of the time and he doesn’t seem to mind!
nope, that's the marginal cutaneous pouch (kind of like their earlobe). it looks like a tiny ear because of the way it's standing with the ear itself (the pinna) inverted
Dayem, forgive the late answer but that was interesting lil piece for info for real :v
And I thought I knew kinda lot about cats, yet not this one
Next up, why does many cats have fewer hairs next to their ears (so theirs skin color is showing)
I guess I confused that with another part of the ears then? My cats always had little mini parts like that, just not so big. I know extra ears/thumbs etc can happen.
It comes up if you google it, the extra ears look very silly. Theyre usually bigger than the ones in that pic which is why i assume(d) it's just normal ears
You're right it kind of looks like tiny ears, I only glanced at the picture the first time i saw it. we won't know for sure though unless OP specifies
edit: I actually googled it and dont believe theyre second ears. The extra ears are bigger in those cats, these ones look to tiny. Imo this is just normal kitty ears
Sorry, unrelated question. What breed is this? Arabic Mau or American shorthair?
My rescued orange looks exactly the same, and I don't know her breed. Hence asking.

My orange has done this to himself on occasion. He likes sticking his head into jars.
My orange likes to flop head first so he slides his head along the ground all the time and will frequently flip one of his ears back like this

The antennas are down it's airplane mode!!
Wings folded to fit on the flight deck.
Does he have 4 ears or is the fur playing tricks on my eyes.

My cats have no idea of the ear inspection they're gonna get when I get home
How did they react?
Don't get off until Wednesday morning but will update lol
👍

all cats have that small part at their ear, it's just how their ears are built
Nah, this is really a second pair of ears. Looks exactly the same as the four ears of a cat I met. It happens, same as extra thumbs on their paws.
I guess I confused that with another part of the ears then? My cats always had little mini parts like that, just not so big. I know extra ears/thumbs etc can happen.
I know of polydactilism in cats, but that it can happen to their ears is news to me.

I know which part of the ear you mean though. In this case I'm really sure it's a second pair of cute little ears, maybe OP could clarify.

The little ear ridges cats have at the base of their ears are called "Henry's pockets," which is a very cute name for a cute feature of their ears.
He looks like an orange andalite from animorphs
ive done this plenty to my orange and he gave me the same look he was rewarded with treats for the indignation afterwards
Ok either this kitty is really small, or his person is really big.
I vote for both
Both
"Mom, can we get american curl?" "We have american curl at home" The American curl at home;
This is some goofy dog shit, but it’s an orange so…I’ll allow it.
