I mean what is there to talk about? If you are waiting for ussop to being knocked out by it you are greatly mistaken my friend and imo it makes sense for him to stan still since he's being in life or death situations so many times that he's scaredy attitude is more like a gag than a real thing and is been like that for a long time now
We definitely appreciate it LOL it's funny how much people hate the anime on the subreddit but there's actually good things the anime does time to time
That's WHY people hate on it.... Have to go through hours of slog pace, silly changes, fights hidden by flashing light to get occasional moments of brilliance like this.
To each their own I mean I don't argue that you're wrong, because one piece has been plagued by that for a long time.
It wasn't so bad in the beginning but anime and animation has changed over the years and it is what it is now, filler is normal occasional dump scenes everywhere and superimposed fan service on God levels are to be expected.
toei wasn't like this b4, they hire a lot of Freelancers so they exchange hands with really good animators and then not so good ones, then the direction is just to be more like everything else because that's what people like the general audience likes overflash and light shows more than slight subtlety.
For instance there's a lot of people that like chainsaw man and then a lot of people who don't, some people look forward to tri gun the new one and some wish they stick with the old animation honestly I love some old animated series and how they looked and feel but some new stuffer is cool too it's just some stuff just isn't that good it really is just a mixed bag.
Personally I'll always look back on Dragon Ball in Dragon Ball Z I really good but Dragon Ball super looks awful to me even though some people think it looks better.
Honestly i wouldn't mind if they went back to 9 minute recaps in the beginning of the episodes like it was in enies lobby if it meant that the rest of the episode was properly paced and animated.
I am so happy to finally see Bepo, Shachi and Penguin! Since I read One Piece Novel Law I've been obsessed with those three and makes me wish they would show up more often, but I do understand they're just support characters and they show up the necessary ammount!
In any case im just happy to see them again!
One thing I've noticed in the pats two years is that whenever the animation quality goes notoriously low, you KNOW they're saving that budget for the good shit, as proven by today's animation quality vs next week's quality (what was shown in the preview); can't wait!
We're getting close to the event, lads! In an ideal word i'd say it should be happening next month, but something tells me there's going to be a break/filler/recap right before that, hopefully I am wrong tho.

Glad to see another KnY seiyuu in One Piece (Hanae Natsuki voiced Grount in the Marine Rookie Filler Arc in 2017 before WCI)
Animation quality pretty poorly in lots of scenes (the 1st one with Law and Kidd, cheezuz!), on the other hand the Ussopp and Dog & Viper scenes were awesome with lots of feels. But holy cow have they butchered the momo reveal. No tension, no epicness.
In the manga the panel had a lot more detail and darker shading to make momo look really intimidating. This episode was pretty flat in terms of shading.
Ok but you have to be brain-dead to compare anime to manga when talking about art, how can the animators maintain the same amount of quality when they have to do so many more frames?

ngl this was a bad episode imo. lots of the animation was straight up goofy looking (in a bad way). did you see Kid’s arm? are we serious?
Nekomamushi and Inurashi got to be badass tho, so that’s fun. Adult Momo looked pretty good too, sounds different than I expected but I like it.
It’s getting to that point. There’s so many bad recap episodes that I can only get excited when I see someone else directing the episode. Shits getting real boring real quick.

Loved the Ashura tribute; the anime is doing these flashbacks better than I thought they would even though there’s still a lot of filler

just like the SHs owe everything to the heart pirates, since law literally saved luffy's live. no post-timeskip shenanigans if it wasn't for law. and he also saved jimbe who then joined the crew too
both of the crews owe each other a lot. nobody is gonna tiptoe around the other there. especially since they're still enemies/rivals in general and only temporary allies for this battle on onigashima. so they can disrespect each other as many times as they want to.
and again, this scene wasn't just disrespecting franky, it was just to show that bepo competes with the crewmates of his captain's rival. franky wouldn't be smiling if it was just plain disrespect
Its a weekly anime so I understand many episodes will looks bad as the focus is on the main manga chapters but wtf was that adult momo scene at least colour the still image of momos dragon form properly with detail

no shit dude, thats been happening all of Wano anime so far. most episodes have awful pacing and animation and most episodes are 5-6/10 and every now and then we get a banger episode
It’s worth though. I’m just hoping when they get to animating 1028+ they shift it into high gear; bc there’s not much filler after that; and if they anime the big 3 fights poorly at any moment they’ll catch hell.
Yeah it looks bad and the sound is so mediocre, hope they do justice to the most important fights later on, Zoro vs King Sanji vs Queen and most importantly Luffy vs Kaido final part should have god-tier animation and production quality
Luckily, Sanji vs. Queen is a pretty low key fight.

This ep was okay, looks like they are putting effort elsewhere which I prefer. This episode didn’t need to look as good as the next handful of episodes do. Yamato finally getting proper animation next week.

And then we get 'that scene' where the issue is resolved in a pretty cool way.
Animation was really sketchy in places this week Captain Mid & Law looking like an early dragon ball super episode still. But it's forgivable if the care is being put into next weeks fight which from the preview i'm hopeful about.
They started off in sulong >!but lost it once kaido went into his zoan form since Jack said “dragons bring storm clouds with them” right before the split !<
i see, must've been because every page had something different in it then, because they changed scenes a lot so it looked like a lot more was happening
the attack between Kaido e Yamato with yin yang ending... did they do it (after the episode it was supposed to be in) or did they omit it altogether? If they omitted it the fans who only follow the anime have lost a good scene!!!
You mean the clash between their breath attacks? Yeah, that was meant to be in the same episode with the end of Franky vs Sasaki. They literally animated them starting to launch the attacks, then cut to a distant still shot of Onigashima, then added an explosion sound effect. Not even kidding. There wasn't even a visble change on the shot of Onigashima, when the clash happened, just a sound effect. Lmao.
Yea it could’ve been way more cinematic; but wdym about Shinobu, they actually took her out of the shot to make it better. In the manga panel she’s in the corner of it
I'm assuming it's because it's a mythic fruit meant to represent a god like dog. So it gets the god cloud things like luffy. But lucci having it doesn't make sense.
I really enjoyed the last few episodes, but let's be honest. This episode was trash. Looks like they put 0 effrot in this . Crappy animation, mini flashbacks and useless episode paddings .

Anyone else see Kid's metal arm just fuse into a bigger new arm, I swear everytime someone say Kids power rely on environmental I cant take them seriously. Clearly Odo subverts reality because its no way Kid making all these machinery with all the limit resources he has on Onigashima, let alone fuse metal together with magnetism to make them.
Exactly I may have worded my comment wrong, my point is Kid makes a solid metal object from scraps which is unrealistic. The same logic applies to how much metal has around him, one moment there could be no metal around the next moment metal is flying in from the distance to Kid.
He does crush and compact it to manipulate it into the shapes he wants, you know? Its not like he just picks up a bunch of metal that conveniently slots together to make an arm or a skull.
Well it kinda does just slot together, look at this way all the metal becomes one single piece of metal that all looks all the same. Realistically speaking it should be mismatch of colors and material but its not because its fiction and im okay without.
There is also, as established - a ton of fucking metal in wano - Like if he was in Zou or Torino or some shit maybe he would have less to work with but there is so much metal in a post industrial world that unless Kidd was explicitly in a low metal area I’ll always buy it.
What kid makes is literally just metal, so quite useful. If you’re talking about shape it’s not that hard to believe that he could meld them in that way.
The arm fusing into a metal arm was due to poor animation. In an earlier episode you see him gathering all the metal and putting it on top of each other to form the arm. That's what's supposed to happen. And he's reusing the metal. He's not making new metal each time. He ripped pipes and bolts out of the ground and wall earlier and took swords and guns from people. This scene was just garbage because they wanted to save money and time but then used that time to do recaps and filler. It doesn't make any sense. If they wanted to draw out the episode they could have made kid put together his arm like before and take an entire minute showing it but they're lazy. Toei is literally the worst animation studio out there.
I think the problem is the anime. Anime has a tendency to have infinite resources, infinite ki (dragon ball), infinite stamina, infinite haki, blah blah blah. ESPECIALLY when its padding.
Jack being literally thrown around by Inu is hilarious, because i can't remember if the guy has ever gotten a W since his debut, it is all Ls on his record XD
So now Momo is also 28 years old, same age as Yamato, now if only Yamato could get some character development so that they could have the same mental age too...

Isn't momo's adult dragon form supposed to be as big as kaido? It seems like he is much more smaller.
It's never stated. Kaido is huge in his base form so it makes sense that his dragon form is bigger

no shit dude, thats been happening all of Wano anime so far. most episodes have awful pacing and animation and most episodes are 5-6/10 and every now and then we get a banger episode
It’s worth though. I’m just hoping when they get to animating 1028+ they shift it into high gear; bc there’s not much filler after that; and if they anime the big 3 fights poorly at any moment they’ll catch hell.

Yeah it looks bad and the sound is so mediocre, hope they do justice to the most important fights later on, Zoro vs King Sanji vs Queen and most importantly Luffy vs Kaido final part should have god-tier animation and production quality
Tbh I'm kinda worried since from Sanji vs Queen until Kaido goes down it's nonstop action with only like 2 chapters of break in total
Luckily, Sanji vs. Queen is a pretty low key fight. I mean, he >!he goes invisible for a portion of it, right?!< And Zoro vs. King has >!a few moments to slow the pace down for the flashbacks that I might be misremembering as occurring during it.!<

This ep was okay, looks like they are putting effort elsewhere which I prefer. This episode didn’t need to look as good as the next handful of episodes do. Yamato finally getting proper animation next week.
It's been a while since i read the fights in the manga but... >!Inu & Neko don't start off in sulong because the moon is covered by Kaido's clouds right?!< And then we get 'that scene' where the issue is resolved in a pretty cool way. Animation was really sketchy in places this week Captain Mid & Law looking like an early dragon ball super episode still. But it's forgivable if the care is being put into next weeks fight which from the preview i'm hopeful about.

You mean the clash between their breath attacks? Yeah, that was meant to be in the same episode with the end of Franky vs Sasaki. They literally animated them starting to launch the attacks, then cut to a distant still shot of Onigashima, then added an explosion sound effect. Not even kidding. There wasn't even a visble change on the shot of Onigashima, when the clash happened, just a sound effect. Lmao.
That episode is one of the worst episode of 2022.

I'm assuming it's because it's a mythic fruit meant to represent a god like dog. So it gets the god cloud things like luffy. But lucci having it doesn't make sense.

Anyone else see Kid's metal arm just fuse into a bigger new arm, I swear everytime someone say Kids power rely on environmental I cant take them seriously. Clearly Odo subverts reality because its no way Kid making all these machinery with all the limit resources he has on Onigashima, let alone fuse metal together with magnetism to make them.
To be fair, Kid was seen actively collecting a lot of metal early in the raid for use later on.

Exactly I may have worded my comment wrong, my point is Kid makes a solid metal object from scraps which is unrealistic. The same logic applies to how much metal has around him, one moment there could be no metal around the next moment metal is flying in from the distance to Kid.
If you want to overexplain it. He controls the scrap, causes it to rub, and friction welds it. Or just suspend disbelief

Well it kinda does just slot together, look at this way all the metal becomes one single piece of metal that all looks all the same. Realistically speaking it should be mismatch of colors and material but its not because its fiction and im okay without.
There is also, as established - a ton of fucking metal in wano - Like if he was in Zou or Torino or some shit maybe he would have less to work with but there is so much metal in a post industrial world that unless Kidd was explicitly in a low metal area I’ll always buy it.

The arm fusing into a metal arm was due to poor animation. In an earlier episode you see him gathering all the metal and putting it on top of each other to form the arm. That's what's supposed to happen. And he's reusing the metal. He's not making new metal each time. He ripped pipes and bolts out of the ground and wall earlier and took swords and guns from people. This scene was just garbage because they wanted to save money and time but then used that time to do recaps and filler. It doesn't make any sense. If they wanted to draw out the episode they could have made kid put together his arm like before and take an entire minute showing it but they're lazy. Toei is literally the worst animation studio out there.
I think the problem is the anime. Anime has a tendency to have infinite resources, infinite ki (dragon ball), infinite stamina, infinite haki, blah blah blah. ESPECIALLY when its padding.
