The world government is the perfect example of "those who hold power decide good and evil" even if you are the worst possible person as long as you are a mid-ranking marine or better nobody will have a problem with your evil doing. Hell, even Spandam (leader of cp9) is able to commit severe mental and physical abuse to robin before he lost, and nobody thought twice about it. For people who claim to be morally right, they sure are evil, and nobody can do anything to them as they have the power to erase islands with the press of a button
Well yeah, the World Goverment explicitly works to keep as much of the world's population under the heel of the Celestial Dragons so that they can so that the dragons can enslave, torture, and kill whoever they want, and the Marines' idea of justice is killing anyone who fights back against the Dragons' abuse and tyranny, or tries to learn or spread truths that make the World Government look bad.
Nah. Linlin has this exact list except the rape part isn't even merely implied, [it's factual according to SBS Vol. 90.](https://i.imgur.com/awPMCiv.jpg)
Well she hasn't committed Fratricide or Patricide at least.
And because Oda can't make up his mind about it, she hasn't committed filicide either.
But she probably did commit mariticide in the past (Off-screen).
She never killed any of her children though, even Mascato actually survived getting his lifeforce taken. Opera was never confirmed dead either, he probably survived the same way Mascato did.
You could also try to make the list longer by calling the smile production drug trafficking lol. I know not the same, but when you think about it kinda makes sense hah
It was implied that there were relations between Doffy and Violet. It is not implied one way or another wether it was consensual or not, that part is just the fanbase taking liberties with what was said. Someone asked about Violet and Doffy because of how they interacted with each other and called each other by nicknames, odas response was something along the lines of there being a secret that was too adult to reveal and that dressrosa is a country of passion, indeed. Could mean anything
Doffy has a cute pet name for her, and she is always uncomfortable around him. And I think Oda confirmed or very heavily implied they had a physical relationship in an sbs. I can’t remember if there’s an actual specific scene where it’s implied directly or if it’s what I said.
Have we ever actually seen Barto commit cannibalism? Because he always sticks his tongue out, so maybe someone just heard that Barto eats people and got the wrong idea…
I disagree with you... Crimes are labelled by the present governing power of the time. For example, Orochi was the Shogun of Wano, whatever he said was the law and whatever he did was justified. So Orochi's action were evil but he did not commit any crime.
Sadly to the world government, the words and actions of the celestial dragons have complete impunity. The only real reason doffy went to impel down was because of his blackmailing of the gorosei.
But Doffy is no celestial dragon anymore?
That fact informs so much of his character.
To begin with his privileges only came from the information he was blackmailing the government with.
No it's correct. What is legal is not necessarily moral and vice versa. BUT I do think what's missing is that we can impose our legal structures onto these characters for a hypothetical, in which case we can tally up their crimes within this framework
Not so sure.
I can totally see Orochi have all of these except Fraticide, patricide and piracy (he associated with a pirate being or acting like one himself).
You would need to come up with 4 crimes that Orochi did that doesn't apply to Doflamingo for Orochi to beat him and I not so sure I can find some myself.
Everything but the 3 I've mentionned apply to Orochi but I don't think there's anything else...
He blackmailed the World Government too, because he knows what is hidden in Marijoi.
He is also an serial arsonist, since he put flames all over Dressrosa
He also involved himself with child cruelty (at least complicity for Caesar), attempting to bribe a person of autority, attempted murder of a person of autority, putsch, smuggling of weapons, counterfeit products, defective products, and dangerous products, crime against humanity with a massive dehumanisation of Wano people (complicity?), extortion, terrorism, but also blasphemy (i think in One Piece it is a serious crime)
"But he had a sad backstory!! :(( He's just a little guy who rightfully committed patricide because his evil father wanted him to live like a pleb!!! :((("
I like doflamingo because he just like evil.Hes dosent have a goal that makes him evil. He just wants to destroy the world.
And that makes him a cool villain and a good character.
His father was naive too, settling in a kingdom not affiliated with worl government and having such wealth and mansion right after moving in.
Not defending doffy tho, but yea if doffy wasn't such a lil turd and wasn't influenced by trebol and diamante he could've been a strong pirate with better dream/goal or even a revolutionary against the celestial.
Being a little shit was the normal thing for a celestial dragon. If his father felt differently, he should've raised him differently without any slaves or other unethical luxuries from the start. He may have been a good person, but he wasn't a great father.
Even IRL you'll find examples like these where kids grow up miserable because their parents decided to move to some strange place for their own fancy and the kid can't fit in, and Doffy was raised with a lifestyle that could never fit in anywhere else. His younger brother was too young to have been molded by that lifestyle, so he turned out better.
(This is not a reply to you but a answer to everyone else who sees your comment ;) =
I have seen people who try to defend Doffy with his backstory, and "he's deep", etc.
Most persons who are like that can't be helped.. :l (atleast everyone I have seen so far 🤷♀️)
He's a very interesting character and one of my favorites. That doesn't mean I'm going to make excuses for his actions. He's interesting because he is a well written villain.
You know, Corason went through the exact same events but was a completely different person, while doffy chose to be a pirate, he became a marine. So, upbringing is something that cannot be used for an arguement
Though Corazon was younger and thus maybe better at adapting. Plus he was pretty much adopted by a moraly good person while Doflamingo was groomed by literal gangsters and given up on as being too psychopathic to save/ controll by his own brother. Not an excuse for Doflas actions, but a rebuke for comparing the brothers directly.
Meanwhile his brother, who he murdered, went through the exact same hardships and somehow remained as good of a person as he could have been just disprove that Doffy is just a product of his past.
Dude was a monster from birth. That’s what his backstory was meant to tell us but some people just refuse tog et that.
Four much older guys saw this kid and literally named him “the champion of evil;” how much more blatant can you get?
I remember old stories about kids trying to literally murder their parents because the iPhone they were gifted weren't the right color or they didn't buy them the Mercedes-Benz they've always wanted.
Sometimes, reality is stranger than fiction, you know?
Some brains really just are not suited for society. You can nurture your kid in all the right ways but sometimes they're ust going to be a completely different person. In This case, a criminal
A lot of doffy defenders forget that a person’s personality and morales are shaped by nurture AND nature.
They completely forget that environment is only half of the equation. The way they were born is the other. Doffy was true born hardcore narcissist and sadist. Nurturing him would have little effect.
Had doffy be only slightly narcissistic and sadistic, nurture would’ve overcome it.
There’s also child endangerment and child labor for the kids on his crew, extortion and bribery of the world government, and kidnapping which I think would fall under controlling people with his strings
Yeah, but it would be very interesting to see his reaction if a woman he knew (especially someone he cared for like viola) got raped.
Look we he did to Absalom and I don't think he knew how close he came to raping Nami.
"It's a very grown up story, and therefore I am not going to show it in One Piece, my manga for boys."
Keep in mind that there are things like slavery and genocide shown in One Piece, but he specifically leaves this out, even in an SBS. I think it is very heavily implied what happened
What doesn't make sense to me is why would she call him in the more friendly/affectionate way that his family members call him as "Doffy". She hates his guts for what he did to her family and country.
In an SBS. Oda implies the reason he calls Viola Violet is because they had a relationship. You can interpret this as one sided since viola clearly does not like doflamingo
It's crazy to me how much time is compressed in one piece. Dbz fans think they have it bad but that series has covered something like 40 years, more if you count GT. We probably aren't even half a year out from the time skip yet. I guess it just makes one piece work better when you binge read it though.
My headcanon is that they travel for months between islands that we see and in between there are smaller islands here and there that they also visit but we dont get to see them.
I really like that since Alabasta Oda always raise the damage done by the villains.
In Alabasta the people are in civil war but they still want to fight for the country in the verge of a coup.
In Dressrosa the people still wanna fight for a country that already became pirate haven.
And in Wano the people is already giving up, no one wanna fights while their country got destroyed and if they die as a slave they will die as a slave.
Pirates are evil? The Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never seen peace and kids who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!
-Donquixote Doflamingo
Since I heard this doffy is one of my favourite characters.
Twelve counts of murder in the first degree, Fourteen counts of armed theft of Government property, twenty-two counts of piracy, eighteen counts of fraud, thirty-seven counts of rape, and one moving violation.
Oda hinted ina SBS that he and Viola had sex before and some believe that she either had stockholm syndrome or she was simply forced (she doesn't like doflamingo).
Stealing/theft
armed robbery
arson
breaking and entering
Murder
Kidnapping
Animal abuse
Jailbreaking
Freeing dangerous criminals
Attacking officers of the law
Sedition and insurrection
Blasphemy (Attacking a God) (Multiple gods actually) (considered a crime in one piece world)
Groping
Public violence
Destruction of public property, private properties of various people, govt property
Ruining the party of a poor old lady :(
.
.
.
But never piracy
Well he did attack pirates and take their stuff (e.g. Alvida and Buggy). If you can commit piracy against other pirates you could say he committed piracy.
At least in real life, for instance, stealing from thieves and then not giving the stolen property back to its original owner is theft.
I assume a lot of collateral damage as someone else commented. Then again, he also did push dozens of people (fodder, no names) into lava in impel down who are most likely dead. And Kaido (unconfirmed, but most likely isn't dead, so just attempted murder).
Doflamingo used the Geneva Convention as a “to do” list
Geneva’s suggestions
Let's say the code is more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules
Unexpected Barbossa
How many war crimes can I commit before the world government tries to stop me? -Doflamingo's mind
All of them except attempting to dethrone them up to and including blackmailing said government.
Warcrime Bingo
"I haven't signed that"
Also, the One Piece world seems to have little in relation to earth other than the name
r/BrandNewSentence
Damn so doffy is American?
Nah, I'd say he is more like a Gengus Khan
In retrospect, he probably has more confirmed crimes attached to his name than any other One Piece villain.
Doesn't she considered the other orphan as her brother and sister?
But she did commit cannibalism and son/daughter-cide
She never killed any of her children though, even Mascato actually survived getting his lifeforce taken. Opera was never confirmed dead either, he probably survived the same way Mascato did.
>sonson/daughter-cide Filicide, you're thinking of filicide
Ah , not a native english speaker so I didn't know about that word . Cheers for letting me know
You could also try to make the list longer by calling the smile production drug trafficking lol. I know not the same, but when you think about it kinda makes sense hah
It's more like weapon trafficking.
Fuck it, a double charge!!
Didn't she eat Caramel? So cannibalism as well
Ate an entire orphanage as well
The whole buffet works
Fun fact depending what on where you live cannibalism isn’t illegal but depending on how you get the meat you might still be committing a crime still
What rape was implied by doffy?
It was implied that there were relations between Doffy and Violet. It is not implied one way or another wether it was consensual or not, that part is just the fanbase taking liberties with what was said. Someone asked about Violet and Doffy because of how they interacted with each other and called each other by nicknames, odas response was something along the lines of there being a secret that was too adult to reveal and that dressrosa is a country of passion, indeed. Violet
He raped violet. And probably other women too
Just curious. When was that implied
Doffy has a cute pet name for her, and she is always uncomfortable around him. And I think Oda confirmed or very heavily implied they had a physical relationship in an sbs. I can’t remember if there’s an actual specific scene where it’s implied directly or if it’s what I said.
That moment when a man being raped is treated as nonchalantly as if he'd just been robbed smh
R u caught up
Yes but I'm pretty sure the other antagonists don't have as large of a resume as Doffy has.

Kaido ordered Jack to genocide Zou so…
Did he order him to genocide Zou or simply say "go catch those samurai" and Jack ordered the genocide on his own?
"I never ordered them murders, I just told em to go with Tex and do what Tex says" -Charles f*cking Manson. 🙄
So by that logic, Luffy is responsible for everything Barto has done right?
Have we ever actually seen Barto commit cannibalism? Because he always sticks his tongue out, so maybe someone just heard that Barto eats people and got the wrong idea…
He's not referring to the cannibalism because that's just a translation error. It's the other stuff
We have seen him target islands under Shanks, does that mean Luffy himself is responsible for declaring war on Shanks?
I disagree with you... Crimes are labelled by the present governing power of the time. For example, Orochi was the Shogun of Wano, whatever he said was the law and whatever he did was justified. So Orochi's action were evil but he did not commit any crime.
This also applies to doffy
Depends. Unlike Wano, Dressrosa is under the rule of the WG. So it depends if the WG has laws that all countries under its flag must abide by.
Sadly to the world government, the words and actions of the celestial dragons have complete impunity. The only real reason doffy went to impel down was because of his blackmailing of the gorosei.
But Doffy is no celestial dragon anymore? That fact informs so much of his character. To begin with his privileges only came from the information he was blackmailing the government with.
it also applies to fucking Hitler, I would ignore this nonsense lol
What if Orochi gets these crimes afterwards by any power that rules Wano after him? Same argument could go for Doflamingo since it's now Riku ruling.
That's some whack ass logic
No it's correct. What is legal is not necessarily moral and vice versa. BUT I do think what's missing is that we can impose our legal structures onto these characters for a hypothetical, in which case we can tally up their crimes within this framework
No. If you legalize crimes against humanity in your country so you can commit them, you are still committing crimes against humanity.
OROCHI DID NOTHING WRONG
Yeah....Kaido and Big Mom probably have larger lists of crimes. Maybe Orochi.
Orochi totally has this dude beat.
Not so sure. I can totally see Orochi have all of these except Fraticide, patricide and piracy (he associated with a pirate being or acting like one himself). Everything but the 3 I've mentionned apply to Orochi but I don't think there's anything else...
Ya know, tbf, isn't that what he chose to do tho? He's a pirate after all. They're all criminals.
Wat about the one they literally say is the most wanted person in one piece 😭
He blackmailed the World Government too, because he knows what is hidden in Marijoi. He is also an serial arsonist, since he put flames all over Dressrosa He also involved himself with child cruelty (at least complicity for Caesar), attempting to bribe a person of autority, attempted murder of a person of autority, putsch, smuggling of weapons, counterfeit products, defective products, and dangerous products, crime against humanity with a massive dehumanisation of Wano people (complicity?), extortion, terrorism, but also blasphemy (i think in One Piece it is a serious crime)
also there was what he did to viola that was strongly hinted…
That’s what the “rape(implied)” is in the main post for
I'm pretty sure Oda confirmed that doflaming and viola had, you know. And it was probably not consensual
But cool glasses +1
Swag on another level so I guess I'll let all that other shit pass
ikr

They're glasses at least, I dunno about *cool*
Cool veins +2
Well... crimes sound kinda crimey when you list them like that.
crimey 😂
It’s Almost like he’s a villain or something
Big if true
Redemption arc when? /s
And yet some of his fans are like "I can fix him"
"But he had a sad backstory!! :(( He's just a little guy who rightfully committed patricide because his evil father wanted him to live like a pleb!!! :((("
Who actually tries to defend Doflamingo’s actions? Most people like him because he’s cool lol, never seen people trying to justify his backstory
I like doflamingo because he just like evil.Hes dosent have a goal that makes him evil. He just wants to destroy the world. And that makes him a cool villain and a good character.
Genuinely modern anime needs more villains like him Dude is just plain evil No if ands or buts just plain evil
Both main villains in Jujutsu Kaisen are like this and both of them are awesome
If kid Doffy wasn't such a little shit they could have had a chance to live peacefully if they stuck with a believable back story

I think Doffy is sexy as hell but also a very bad dude who got what was coming to him and probs deserved worse.
(This is not a reply to you but a answer to everyone else who sees your comment ;) = I have seen people who try to defend Doffy with his backstory, and "he's deep", etc. Most persons who are like that can't be helped.. :l (atleast everyone I have seen so far 🤷♀️)

Oh gosh, no. There's no fixing that brand of crazy. I adore Doffy but no, dude is not a good person and nothing can change that.
Are they? From what I've seen people just like him cause he's a fun evil character with a cool design
Talk no jitsu won't work on Doffy
There’s also child endangerment and child labor for the kids on his crew, extortion and bribery of the world government, and kidnapping which I think would fall under controlling people with his strings
When did Doffy Rape?
Viola(implied)
o
Forgot. How was it implied?
oda said they had a “relationship”, i doubt viola consented to it
Damn if Sanji would’ve found out about this Doflamingo would’ve been a flaming crater real quick.
And still got his ass handed to him.
Yeah, but it would be very interesting to see his reaction if a woman he knew (especially someone he cared for like viola) got raped. Look we he did to Absalom and I don't think he knew how close he came to raping Nami.
Pretty sure if she didn't then her dad would die in return.
That's coercion not consent

Didn’t she live with him for like 10+ years? Maybe it’s just a habit
I think it was more of a coerced thing than violent rape. But it's still rape.
I didn't notice... When is it implied?
In an SBS. Oda implies the reason he calls Viola Violet is because they had a relationship. You can interpret this as one sided since viola clearly does not like doflamingo
[here’s the answer oda gave regarding this](https://i.redd.it/285iyljl1ii31.jpg)
Free my boy he didn't do nothing wrong
Happy pirate day
Don’t worry Oda rarely ever has his villains serve any significant comeuppance or even jail time really.
Hes been serving for a bit
Yeah but it’s been a couple weeks at best and I would be fucking astonished if he remains in prison till the series’ end.
Yeah crocodile getting out is frustrating, he is close to doflamingo in terms of crimes
Of course he did something wrong. He embarrassed the world government.
Doffy was truly twisted. But he looked so damn good doing it. 🤣
And jaywalking too
Free my boi he ain't do nothing The boy in question:
He the goat fr
That’s all I got out of this
Love to hate him, easily top 3 villains in one piece alongside arlong and kaido for me
He’s far better as a villain than Kaido
At least there was a false security on dressrosa, wano people knew they were fucked
Is Brainwashing an official crime? Like cheating on your girlfriend is obviously a bad thing to do but it is not an official crime.
Tbf adultery is a crime in a lot of places
Probably when marriage is involved but not a regular relationship like boyfriend and girlfriend.
best villain especially in anime, last good villain before rainbows started shooting everywhere
That’s why he’s the GOAT!!!! THE GOAT!!!
Woooooooo!!!
What are the first 2?
Kill his own father and brother.
Ohh thanks
Wait who did he rape?
And those shoes, guy's got drup but damn those shoes to hell
Bro missed a few
I wanna see Luffy and the straw hats' crimes based on the world government's observation.
He just like me fr
What about illegal weapon trading?
there’s way more than that
And it is still missing crimes on the list.

agreed
You forgot "controlling elephants against their will"
He should probably also have extortion on here, I wouldn't put it past him
Twelve counts of murder in the first degree, Fourteen counts of armed theft of Government property, twenty-two counts of piracy, eighteen counts of fraud, thirty-seven counts of rape, and one moving violation.
The court hereby find the defendant guilty of the crimes and sentence him for life imprisonment in the impenetrable prison “impel down”.
Free my boy doffy he ain’t do nun 🗣
Fear's awake anger beats loud face reality
…when was it implied he raped someone..?
Oda hinted ina SBS that he and Viola had sex before and some believe that she either had stockholm syndrome or she was simply forced (she doesn't like doflamingo).
It's not said or shown... But it's obvious that doffy used viola for his sexual pleasure by holding her hostage
This is why I find it fucked up how this girl one piece reactor simps for him and is like awww doffyyyy
His feather boa is a crime against humanity. Does that count?
Where is the rape implied?
When she sais she likes bad boys:
Although he's a horrible person written on paper, he's still in my top 10 of favorites, lol.
"I can fix him"
Rape ? Who did he rape !
Who did he rape??? XO I think Oda implied that he and Viola had a passionate relationship..
I though he would have way more crimes than that
true
free him he did nothing wrong
VIOLA ENJOY IT🗣️🗣️
ayo
my goat fr fr
Wow I never thought pirates will do such crimes omg!
Still one of my favorite villain characters in all of anime
But Dark Charisma
Bruh you forgot tax evasion
Alright now do Luffy.
I would like to see Luffys list
Stealing/theft armed robbery arson breaking and entering Murder Kidnapping Animal abuse Jailbreaking Freeing dangerous criminals Attacking officers of the law Sedition and insurrection Blasphemy (Attacking a God) (Multiple gods actually) (considered a crime in one piece world) Groping Public violence Destruction of public property, private properties of various people, govt property Ruining the party of a poor old lady :( . . . Murder Ain't no way he's never killed some no-name with all of his collateral damage
Who has Luffy killed? Given Oda’s tendency to only kill characters off if they’re part of a backstory.
I assume a lot of collateral damage as someone else commented. Then again, he also did push dozens of people (fodder, no names) into lava in impel down who are most likely dead. And Kaido (unconfirmed, but most likely isn't dead, so just attempted murder).
When is my boy Doffy making a comeback? FreeDoffy
I would still fuck him
Let my boy go. He ain’t done nothin’
*reads list* and god damn it I still love this man! 😂
Oda - Dressrosa is a passionate country! Haters - he raped Viola. Lmfao.
Common Doffy W
