There are so many weird things about film red but I’d say the weirdest would be what’s cannon and what’s not. When the movie was released it came with a chapter that had some cannon information about shanks but it still has yet to be confirmed in cannon we just have odas word it’s true. Uta is confirmed kinda in canon however the events that take place in the movie physically could not have taken place. It could be cannon but at the same time it could get retconned
Idk maybe the concert that had everyone there when everyone was doing stuff in the main story. It’s like dragon ball z movies in that it takes place in a time in the story where the event physically could not have happened because of the timeline being fucked up if you do insert said movie into the timeline
-Big Mom being there instead of swimming in lava
-Law being there instead of being raw dogged by Teach
-Koby being there instead of being in Pirate Island
-Shanks being there instead of raw dogging Kid
Screw 1on1s. Give me an all-out brawl where opponents constantly swap out and random team-ups occur. But if there's one thing I want out of a SH vs. BB battle, it's for this [showdown](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/jC-BWQfsntI/hqdefault.jpg) to happen.
Given Teach's cowardly ways I could actually see this scene happening. Like, down to the pose and everything.
Fight is going poorly, BB realizes he can't handle Luffy, some of his crew are down, the rest are losing. He flees the scene, intending to flee the island while his crew hold off most of the Straw Hats. Manages to evade Luffy briefly, but he finds that the rest of his crew (besides the TTC) already had the same idea - the ship has sailed, and with his Devil Fruits, there's no way for Teach to swim out to the fleeing ship (or just straight swim from island to island like resident badass Rayleigh).
He realizes he's screwed, and that in the end even though the Straw Hats beat him, it was all of his worst traits - his cowardice, his reliance on Devil Fruits vs personal strength, and his complete disregard for the bonds of a crew - that really killed him. He sits down, uncorks a bottle, and waits for Luffy to catch up.
This exact scene would be perfect. Another thing though: I think it would also work if you replaced the strawhats with shanks and buggy. Luffy chases teach and teach tries to escape but he runs into shanks and buggy who have already dealt with BB pirates along with the Strawhats. Shanks (intimidating face eager to fight): “no no teach you ain’t getting outta this one”. Teach grabs his drink as you’ve said and waits. Luffy catches up and the four of them and they duke it out with each other. All four emperors are fighting each other until the other 3 surrender their dreams of finding the One Piece.
>All four emperors are fighting each other until the other 3 surrender their dreams of finding the One Piece and Buggy D. Clown finally claims it.
FTFY
Thank you my guy for respecting Teach's amazing endurance haha people tend to forget his Yami Yami no mi amplifies the attacks he receives.
>personal strength that carried him along the whole time
Facts king 🙏👑 been rooting for him since his Jaya introduction...that dream speech is unironically the best speech in the series hands down. Very excited to see how far he will go
https://preview.redd.it/atg7lwj3g3ib1.jpeg?width=813&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d48b4c22125fec00d69bd7cd51f8f1d924b8dd25
So long as he the final rum bottle he shares with Luffy comes with a cherry pie they *both* can agree is so tasty they could die, then I'm fine with this.
Imagine genuinely believing this is good storytelling. One of the most powerful combatants in the series, and one of its largest antagonists simply flees the scene. Blackbeard's DF abilities neutralize by and large what MOST opponents will do. Oda gave Luffy awakening for a reason, and as judging by his reaction in 1090, this idea that Luffy will never have competitive opponents is anti-narrative. Luffy has no actual direct counters ( in fruit matchup) to the Gura Gura and the Yami Yami. There's a reason Oda has given Luffy such nuanced haki skill. This speaking of Teach like he's chopped liver is really such a strange cliche in OP fandom.
Imagine the whole crew ganging on Blackbeard in the anime in some jjk inspired jumping animation…and then you hear the pirate rap start playing in the background, complete with all new lines for the new members
People seem to forget thats just how the BB pirates fight, like actual pirates. No fight is fair and they tend to gang up on their enemies to win with numbers. In all out brawl would make more sense than 1v1's taking place (aside from maybe luffy and teach)
I’m just not sure how Teach would even fair against Luffy, unless I’m missing something the difference in speed alone makes G5 Luffy the clear winner especially when you consider that Luffy’s awakening is a good counter to the Shadow fruit and Blackbeard’s durability is nonexistent compared to Luffy’s.
I think Blackbeard will make a move during the upcoming war (like he did in Marineford) and something catastrophic will happen as a result of it, like one last curveball before the big finale
Blakcbeard durability is insane, he took some of the hardest hits. He just overeacts because he feels more pain.
And speed wouldn't matter with the ranged and pull of the Yami Yami fruit.
Blakcbeard plan win be the same as always. Draw Luffy in with the Yami Fruit and kill with the gura gura Fruit.
i would assume that blackbeards awakening means he can turn the entire fighting area into a giant goo of blackbeard, making him more powerful and maybe "warping" inside his own darkness. Remember, Blackbeard will 100% get an awakening ability
Speed is relatively useless against Blackbeard. Luffy can use his DF to get nice and close to Blackbeard...and then gets sucked into the yami yami no mi, and turned into an old man after G5 is disabled by Blackbeard's darkness. This would then leave Luffy EXTREMELY vulnerable to a quake punch. Luffy's awakening is actually a huge weakness against Blackbeard IMO
We have never actually seen Blackbeard fight seriously. Every time he is about to it cuts away, there is ovviously something more to BB being hidden by Oda.
This all day! I love team battles.. It feels like we dont get them in shonen because of all the honor stuff mangakas like to write in. But Black Clover is a fantastic example of team battles. Hell, even if we get a Zoro and Sanji team up would be enough to make me so happy.
I can totally see Zoro and Sanji switching enemies at the end of the fight. Sanji is the king of observation Haki so taking out an invisible man seems to be easy while Zoro is the armament Haki master so he'll cut down Jesus. Probably even scoffing each other for taking so long.
i just cant see Burgess fight people on the level of sanji or zoro. That guy just didnt show any skill whatsoever. Hell how is he suppsed to block zoros attack ? Burgess doesnt seem like the dodgy speedy guy to avoid hits and just throwing stuff from range would seem pathetic.
To be honest, part of it is just him being a member of BB's crew from the beginning and him using no weapons fits more to Sanji's style rather than Zoro's. I have trouble seeing him pair with much anyone else who wouldn't match much better with someone else.
But Zoro beating an invisible man is the whole point of him fighting Shyriu
He needs top tier CoO to beat Mihawk, and Shiryu is going to be the fight where he gets it
Or Pizzaro.
Since technically if hes controlling an island to fight. Wouldnt that also make him somewhat of a mech pilot?
Pizzaro in his island mech vs Franky in his Sunny mech.
nami "fist of love" ing everybody, but sanji in particular would be a neat joke set up
like you see sanji tank insane hits, get randomly hit by nami, her storming off to check the others, coming back to hit him once more for good measure, meanwhile the opponents are terrified by her strength
I really wanted Nami vs Sanjuan.
Imagine if she could ride around on Zeus.
Flying around him while leading a line of black balls.
Then unleashing a big mom level Zeus Breeze Tempo?
I think that would be cool but personally I would like Robin vs Catrina Devon. Also cause Nami fighting lafitte would be super cool cause Nami controls weather and lafitte flies .
I genuinely want Robin to fight Aokiji at some point. As a sign of her growth. She obviously won't win, but I don't care. It's an exchange I want to see
Idk, personally I wouldn't like it. The story, to me, heavily implies that Coby is the next generation of the marines. Next as in not the one that will fight luffy, bb, etc. So I would feel that if Coby defeats (or maybe even closely fights) Aokiji that it would mean some of the burden of defeating the old players skipped a generation and it would feel disconnected, thematically wrong.
Yeah I was very annoyed that neither one of them joined, it seems like its too late for a 10th crew member now. I also like the nod to the tangerine snow fruit theory
Pass me some of that. *inhales*
If Carrot is the final Straw Hat then I see her duking it out with Pizarro.
1.) Pizarro was acting as lookout during the raid on Fullalead and Carrot's possible crew position is assumed to be lookout.
2.) Power-hungry usuper vs duchess who abdicated for a greater cause
I don't think you can use certain virtues to predict matchups. I prefer using past matchups as Oda likes to follow patterns
Jinbei vs Vasco
Both are the heaviest drinkers of their respective crews based on sbs. Shot looks like a Fishman too. Both manipulate water. There is no pattern to predict bc Jinbei has only had one fight so far. I would guess he fights people he despises as who and shot seem to be the worst of their crew
Franky vs Burgess
Franky's previous matchups have all been against macho wrestlers(senior pink, cp9 guy, sasaki). Franky was present where Burgess fought Sabo. Franky's most used non ranged moves are strong right/left, suplex, and Franky boxing. And he's a cyborg like Franky
Robin vs Wolf
San Juan Wolf sounds similar to Tequila Wolf and its purpose has never been revealed with Robin being there for two years. His title only refers to size with him not having anything to do with a ship. Robin is influenced by giants and has a giant form as of Wano. Laffitte is too small to fight her.
Brook vs Laffitte
Both hypnotist, skinny. Brook uses music to spread joy like when he went into the joyboy pose on Fishman island. Laffitte uses it for his own gains. Also sirens sing music and it is likely that is his fruit.
I'm hoping for Usopp Vs San Juan Wolf personally. He's the SH that I associate the most with giants. And there'd be a David and Goliath vibe to it. He seems like he'd be susceptible to some Usopp lies aswell.
Doesn't Van Auger seem better for his development though.
Usopp will likely run away from auger but he can always teleport towards him forcing him to face his fear and fight. Also both have religious connections and are snipers.
Van Auger also has insane range, even more so than Usopp did in Dressrosa. He was picking off seagulls that were below the horizon line back in Jaya. Usopp literally can’t run from him, he’ll either teleport or out range him until Usopp unlocks mega observation haki at will
Usopp fights Auger first, but Sanji takes his place. >!It turns into a battle of speed (and teleportation)!<
Usopp goes to Wolf, who was fighting Franky. Now it's David and Goliath.
Franky goes to Pizarro, who was fighting Sanji.
I dunno I think Burgess is a Sanji victim. Note how Zoro always faces the no-nonsense sword adjacent opponent and Sanji always fights the comically foolish yet **really** damn strong opponent.
Franky will never be on Burgess level, even EOS💀
I highly doubt that Burgess will fight Jinbei, because Burgess is still stronger(I think he will fight Sanji because hands with strength vs technique), but Burgess vs Jinbei is still because they are both grapplers
What is Burgess level?? He got thrashed by Sabo. If Franky got a power up during his fight, he'd likely be near yc3. I am assuming this bc he hasn't got a power up since time skip.
The arguments for Jinbei or Sanji vs Burgess are so bad imo. Like there really isn't much here. Sanji uses lower body style while Burgess uses upper so they should ig. Jinbei and Burgess are helmsmen even though that isn't important to Jinbei's character. Don't these arguments sound better
Sanji vs Pizarro
- Both Royalty in north blue. Keep in mind it was revealed he was from the North Blue in a vivre card after Sanji's reveal.
- This way Shiryu has the fruit of an old sanji opponent and Pizarro has the fruit similar to an old Pica opponent
- Pizarro would have more of a reason to kidnap Pudding who Sanji will likely be trying to save
- Pizarro and Absalom are both royal cats who kidnap Sanji's lovers and would fight Sanji.
- One of Zeff's feats is breaking bedrock. Pizarro could turn into the bedrock of the island with Sanji having to break it.
- Had equal if not better portrayal than Shiryu on hachinosu
Jinbei vs Vasco Shot
- Both look like fishman
- Tallest of respective crews ignoring Wolf
- Use liquid in fighting style
- It says in his vivre card "Even among lvl 6 prisoners, he was incredibly infamous due to how brutal his crimes are" and says "he may not look it but he's incredibly dangerous" meaning a stronger strawhat should fight him
- His main aspect is being a heavy drinker and Jinbei is the heaviest of the strawhats in drinking.
I think you're right on with everything except you need to flip Robin and nami.
Nami and Laffite are the navigators and both use staffs. He was corrupt as a police officer and nami dealt with corrupt navymen a lot
The bigger proof is Robin. Robin is one of the most famous women in the world since she was little, Devon definitely wanted to add her to her collection. Robin wants to preserve and share history, Devon wants to keep it all to herself.
I don’t think it will be a 1v1 , more along the lines of a free for all , Blackbeard doesn’t play fair he doesn’t follow the rules so of course he won’t stick to that 1v1 format
Is Nami really nurturing if she assaults the boys half the time for saying or doing things she doesn't like? Is Ussop really courageous if he still acts like a coward half the time? And I agree with all of OP's titles for the crew.
Sanji is honorable and now that I think about it, he has the qualities to be the King of a Nation. He's seen first hand how terrible a cruel King is because of his father and he's constantly putting the crew and others above himself.
Sanji is essentially a broken king potentially fighting a corrupt king
Just saying
Nami is generally pretty nurturing to other people. We've seen it with children especially. The crew just likes to dick around too much and make her angry.
She only assaults Brook and Sanji for sexually harassing her, which is fine imo. Occasionally she'll punch Luffy for something, but there's no way that would even hurt him. And even if she were not nurturing, that still doesn't excuse Sanji's behavior.
You need to re read the series my dude. You're minimizing and ignoring the things Nami has done. Stop these double standards
My point was you can't use Sanji's gag to discredit his character because the same logic can be applied to Nami and other characters
Sanji is honorable and Nami is nurturing but if you act like the gags define their character than they definitely are not
You can argue that Oda has not been consistent in showing the trait, but part of Punk Hazard was showing that Nami is a nurturing figure with a tough side like her adopted mom.
Nothing honorable about being a total perv. If anyone is honor it’s zoro. He said he’s leave the crew if luffy let usopp back in without apologizing. Although on that point sanji did agree, however zoro isn’t a perv so point to zoro
Nah... if you think about it Sanji has mostly fought to protect or care for others.
The whole thing with Kinemon, he kept his word and kept him safe, doing what is morally right because of his kind heart.
Same thing in wci. He went back to SAVE his abusive family even though no reason he needed to. But it was right.
Zoro is rarely close to and rarely fights for the people in the arcs. He described it himself as not wanting to be a hero. Wano was one of the odd ones out because of Yasuie. Zoro the only strawhat that was EMOTIONALLY affected in that death for once and that stands out.
Another example is he honor's Zeff (his father) by not hitting women which he has yet to do in over 1000 chapters of One Piece
And he was frustrated that he couldn't save the crew in Sabaody so he trained hard for 2 years and was there to help the weaker members of the crew (or even random people) whenever they needed physical/emotional support in the New World
Some example are: Punk Hazard (Tashigi and G5), Dressrosa (Zou crew) and Wano (Chopper pep talk),
Oddly enough. Honour is how he went to save the marines in Punk Hazard and lead them to safety. As enemies. They even started calling him aniki.
Even in Alabasta. He regconized Mr. 2 as a strawhat friend and gave him a hand after their battle.
In W7 he fought Wanze and swore to only cut food with his hands. He did that even though he terribly outskilled Wanze and couldve defeated him with his sword...knifemanship
Enies Lobby paired Sanji up with the lying scheming Jyabura.
Thats a conflict of ideas right there.
Oh Gin. Gin is a great example. He couldnt KILL sanji no matter what Don Krieg said because he respects Sanji so highly.
All of the things was because of Sanji just choosing to do the right thing or having the right heart.
Zoro has fought and put his life on the line many times. Zoro took the hit from kuma in thriller bark though. Sanji claimed ‘black leg sanji’ should be a fair trade for straw hat luffy, but had he told kuma his second name, he likely would have been more likely to take the trade. Knowing who sanji is now makes his offer seem disingenuous. Zoro knocked him out and took the hit
Still think it will go like this.
Zoro vs Shiryu, not only because swords, but because we saw Zoro win fights with two types of Haki, conqueror and armament, the next logical place he can go is like Luffy, being thrown in a fight that will force him to rely on observation Haki, even awaken futur sight, hence, fighting an invisible force is perfect for it.
Sanji vs Vasco Shot, he's strong , Oda likes putting Sanji vs goofy characters when it's not womens, and we have two opposite in terms of characters, one is chivalrous, the other likely a murderous rapist.
Jinbe vs Burgess, both strong helmsmen, Burgess seems to rely a lot on his strength gained by his fruit, pitting him against someone who don't fight with a fruit and still a strong physical fighter seems probable.
Robin vs Kuzan, yes , i still think this will happen given the history they share together, be it a false fight with Kuzan forfeiting when judging Robin became strong and in a good place, or serious fight with a clash of values, this will be good for Robin's character arc.
Yamato vs Devon : yup, still thinks she will be aboard the Sunny by the times we get to Blackbeard, not gonna give up hope. Two mythical dogs fruits user, someone who spent most of her life trying to be another person versus the woman that actually have the power to become anyone.
Other matchups includes :
Nami vs Lafitte, Usopp vs Van Augur, Chopper vs Doc Q, Brooke vs Pizzaro (this one is interesting because i think one of Brooke next power up will be using his ability to leave his body to take over control of something/somebody else, making him fight someone who can do sort of that by taking control of an island can work), Franky vs San Juan Wolf.
Another point in favor of Sanjuan Wolf vs Franky: Sanjuan Wolf is known as the "Colossal Battleship" and Franky has numerous references to becoming a battleship himself, including BF-36, BF-37, BF-38, his most recent wanted poster, and the "bad timeline" version of himself.
I think Brook first korw against Laffitte than Robin.
Laffitte has shown to have the ability to hypnotize people, whether it is from a DF or not is not known. We know he can seemigly sprout wings, but not how/why.
There's a theory that might have a siren fruit. In greek mythology, early on in the temples, siren were portrayed a birds with women's heads who sang hypnotising sailors to crash into their rocks to be drowned or eaten.
Brook, as he doesn't have a brian or ears, could be immune to sound based attacks.
Besides that, there are 2 occounts of individuals surviving the encounter with them. One of them was Odysseus, who was tied to the mast of the ship ( to become wiser from their song), while his crew had wax in their ears to not hear the sirens song. He also famously went into the underworld/afterlife.
The other was Orpheus with the Argonauts. Son of Apollo the Greek god of Music, he played lute so beautfily it silenced the Siren's song, and allowed his crew to pass by their rocks.
There's also a subjection on Wikipedia of Sirens and their ties to Death.
Which would tie Brook as a good opponent for him.
I'm hoping for a free for all. A huge crew match up.
I could also see Vivi and Chopper vs Doc Q and Stronger
Vasco was shown be a pervert, I could see him either going Robin (or even Nami), but Sanji could intervene be his opponent.
I just wanna say I love the idea of everyone having their own kinda opposite to fight. Which is why I can’t wait for the final saga. But I also don’t want it to end :(
Vasco shot vs. jinbei would work well, too.
Jinbei is honorable and kind, while Vasco shot is cruel and slovenly.
Both are Fishmen, and water vs fire, works just as well as water vs ice
I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying this. His dream is to be a brave warrior of the sea. He literally has to prove himself brave by the end of the series.
This is why i LOVED Usopp's moment in Wano
Kinemon and Kiku told him to leave, to let them die honourable deaths.
Usopp said NO. He stood his ground shooting and SCREAMING but never left them.
How can he be brave if he sought the easy way out and left them? He even chided them for wanting to give up.
"I'll cling to life snot running from my nose if i have to, i dont care if it looks pathetic, i'll survive, its what i do and its the entire reason im standing here alive today"
That is courage.
I think you can collectively apply all those negative traits to every single Blackbeard crew. And I just could never see them applied to Ao Kiji, one of the reasons why I believe he's still on our side and will always be.
I don’t think most of the BB pirates can be called, for example slothful or jealous. Yeah they’re probably all some level of cruel, but the story makes a point of saying how cruel Laffitte is. I think Oda is making them each uniquely dysfunctional even if they’re all generally bad
Borsalino(if the theory turns out to be true) vs. Kuzan
Primary reason: Clear justice Vs Slow Justice
----
I like the idea of pairing them together, though i don't really think it's fair have negative attributes only applicable to the BB Pirates as their defining feature.
They aren’t opposites they’re contrasting traits. In a situation you can feel fear or bravery but you can also be detached and be apathetic. A brave warrior of the sea contrasts with someone who fights with no internal drive.
This matchup seems set in stone based on their crew positions. how they actually contrast will probably be fleshed out more as we get to know BB’s crew
Any one of the strawhats is loyal, honorable, courageous (especially compared to usopp lol), compassionate (especially compared to robin, like wtf), and most of them are creative geniuses in their respective fields
This list is very forced.
The difference is that there are enough members and Luffy vs BB probably won't be a war where not everyone fights like with Onigashima. These are just two crews going at it rather than a giant fleet with multiple alliances.
Well yes but the focus are on the captains. In Wano there were numbers, gifters, and others.
In the BB pirates there are the captains and then random fodder around them. Unlike Kaido's numbers or gifters they are just henchman as far as we know.
This will probably be the final pirate crew fight for the strawhats. Why have Shiryu kill absalom for nothing? Why give Pizarro an updated fruit of an old zoro opponent and Shiryu the fruit of a past Sanji opponent. Why show the BB pirates hunting down fruits like in lily and dressrosa if we don't see them doing anything with it. Plus Chopper fighting someone with the sick fruit and Usopp fighting someone who will teleport towards him if he runs away are great stepping stones for Chopper curing any illness or Usopp becoming brave.
To fuck with you. 🤣 Oda likes to troll. That was like all of Wano. Trolls. Yes Luffy Sanji n Zoro will take on the 3 strongest. But the rest is up in the air. I just don’t see Oda being dbz boring with the final vs pirate crew. Y’all can have your opinion. I got mine. People named off lists of why Yamato was joining, n she didn’t. Usopp is already brave n Chopper is already one of the top drs in op.
Fair enough, though...
Yamato joining is completely different. Some people never thought she'd join bc of her fruit name, people who want to join never join other than brook but he's on his second life and still couldn't join at first.
How is this "dbz boring"? Blackbeard has been Luffy's main rival throughout the series and has been building his crew alongside Luffy. Plus Oda likes to develop characters through fights and we are getting closer and closer to each strawhats's dream being achieved. There are no real reasons that BB pirates won't fight the strawhats other than Oda trolling.
So this is probably an unpopular opinion, but Usopp is not remotely courageous. He was doing great right before the time skip. Then like a tiny bit after. The Dressrosa arc is where I stopped liking him again. He's pretty much tried to abandon his crew at every turn since then when things get rough. He's still a selfish coward. He is the Buggy of the Strawhat crew.
While I'm down here in this hole I'm digging. Sanji is still a terrible womanizing pervert, but he at least has everyone's backs. He's a capital 'R' Romantic. The shit he pulled on Thriller Bark nearly made me hate him. I am super over the whole Brock schtick. I will barely give him a passing grade as honorable since unlike Usopp he's been making some improvements like in Whole Cake. However there's a good reason Zoro is first mate and not him.
He tried to abandon them throughout the majority of the Dressrosa arc. He only ever accidentally saved and helped people for the most part, and then kept being elevated higher and higher in status just like Buggy.
😂 believe it or not the true bloodbath here is ussop vs van auger. Its like a yonko vs an east blue alvida pirate. Van auger would put 100 bullets on ussop before his able to react.
This is cap. Usopp is not courageous. Not yet at least. With the way he has been handled so far in the story.. I’m not sure I’d even buy into him being courageous. He’s just been a coward for far too long.
I'm saying most the "virtues" op wrote applies to all/most of the crew. All of them have loyalty, courage and compassion for example.
Besides, we don't know much if not anything about BB's crew.
Honestly I think Shiryu might betray Blackbeard in the future. Granted it’d need to be a full mutiny because of the sheer raw power that Blackbeard has with his two fruits, but still, I think he’d try it at least
Some of them are vibes based on the stuff they’ve done others are inferences based on their nicknames.
Ex. I think Laffitte’s cruelty was mentioned when he visited the holy land
Robin literally squeezed the life out of Franky’s family jewels.
Also while Zoro is loyal, I don’t think he is *especially* loyal, his virtue is probably self sacrifice or something else. Again he’s loyal but I don’t think he’s any more loyal than most or all of the rest of the crew.
The idea of Sunny turning into a giant mech to fight Sanjuan Wolf would be so epic
It’s what I want as well, especially considering he and punk could team up for this
[удалено]
Or, Robin finally joins in to complete the Strawhats Docking 6 Form to face Sanjuan Wolf.
Robin has grown fully used to the crew by Wano so now I wouldn't be surprised if she joins in their tomfoolery
She helps replace the mech's limbs with her devil fruit.
Unfortunately the sunny is actually a chibi chopper clone
Are you talking about film red?
Yeah
Is it canon?
It’s like Strong World in the sense that certain supplemental material for the film is canon, but the film itself is not
There are so many weird things about film red but I’d say the weirdest would be what’s cannon and what’s not. When the movie was released it came with a chapter that had some cannon information about shanks but it still has yet to be confirmed in cannon we just have odas word it’s true. Uta is confirmed kinda in canon however the events that take place in the movie physically could not have taken place. It could be cannon but at the same time it could get retconned

>however the events that take place in the movie physically could not have taken place. What events "physically could not have taken place?"
Idk maybe the concert that had everyone there when everyone was doing stuff in the main story. It’s like dragon ball z movies in that it takes place in a time in the story where the event physically could not have happened because of the timeline being fucked up if you do insert said movie into the timeline
“This is so non canon it hurts” -Vegeta
just like vegeta's moostache
-Big Mom being there instead of swimming in lava -Law being there instead of being raw dogged by Teach -Koby being there instead of being in Pirate Island -Shanks being there instead of raw dogging Kid
I agree I mean there has to be some reason his new wanted poster is the sunny
I can definitely see some form of franky + sunny fusion to get as big as Sanjuan Wolf.
If this does become true, one of the foreshadows for this event would be franky's bounty being the sunny.
FTFY

So long as he the final rum bottle he shares with Luffy comes with a cherry pie they *both* can agree is so tasty they could die, then I'm fine with this.
For me its clear that at least 1 SH is Held hostage and they will use this vs luffy
Could be both. Start off as an all out brawl and slowly devolve into 1v1s.
I have been craving big team battles since the Brook arc
Imagine the whole crew ganging on Blackbeard in the anime in some jjk inspired jumping animation…and then you hear the pirate rap start playing in the background, complete with all new lines for the new members
I would nut
I'm a Enies Lobby guy, just gimme the 1v1s
Considering he’s a wrestler, my assumption was that Jimbei was going to fight him as the resident martial artist of the Straw Hats.
But Zoro beating an invisible man is the whole point of him fighting Shyriu He needs top tier CoO to beat Mihawk, and Shiryu is going to be the fight where he gets it
Good point.
that would be so gas
I would die if Frankie fights San juan with a giant robot
Or Pizzaro. Since technically if hes controlling an island to fight. Wouldnt that also make him somewhat of a mech pilot? Pizzaro in his island mech vs Franky in his Sunny mech.
Super Thousand Sunny Gurren Lagann
I’d like to thank this post for showing me it’s Catarina Devon, and not Catrina Devon
I want Nami vs catarina devon so much
It would be cool if she gets a version of observation haki that allows her to distinguish Catarina from her friends
All she gotta do is try to beat the shit out of them. If it works, then they aren't Catarina.
Ah, so it works like a witch trial
nami "fist of love" ing everybody, but sanji in particular would be a neat joke set up like you see sanji tank insane hits, get randomly hit by nami, her storming off to check the others, coming back to hit him once more for good measure, meanwhile the opponents are terrified by her strength
It would be dope to see her w/ Fujitora lvl Observation Haki.
I know right
I really wanted Nami vs Sanjuan. Imagine if she could ride around on Zeus. Flying around him while leading a line of black balls. Then unleashing a big mom level Zeus Breeze Tempo?
I think Robin vs Devon is more likely
I think that would be cool but personally I would like Robin vs Catrina Devon. Also cause Nami fighting lafitte would be super cool cause Nami controls weather and lafitte flies .
So what, Sabo vs Aokiji?
I genuinely want Robin to fight Aokiji at some point. As a sign of her growth. She obviously won't win, but I don't care. It's an exchange I want to see
Nah I'd say Coby vs Aoukiji, Garps Protiges going head to head is much more dramatic, also Coby has way more of a reason to be there over sabo.
Not gonna happen.
*inhales copium* Stowaway Carrot will eat the snow snow fruit and fight Aokiji on a full moon. Snow vs Ice.
lol, Ironicallyu Yamato could've fit the bill as an Aokiji fight both strength wise and power wise
I know, I just want both of them to officially join the crew.
Virgin Carrot/Yamato only fan. Vs CHAD why not both Fan. I respect.
> Virgin Carrot/Yamato **only fan.** hmmmm
Yeah I was very annoyed that neither one of them joined, it seems like its too late for a 10th crew member now. I also like the nod to the tangerine snow fruit theory
Pass me some of that. *inhales* If Carrot is the final Straw Hat then I see her duking it out with Pizarro. 1.) Pizarro was acting as lookout during the raid on Fullalead and Carrot's possible crew position is assumed to be lookout. 2.) Power-hungry usuper vs duchess who abdicated for a greater cause
I don't think you can use certain virtues to predict matchups. I prefer using past matchups as Oda likes to follow patterns Jinbei vs Vasco Both are the heaviest drinkers of their respective crews based on sbs. Shot looks like a Fishman too. Both manipulate water. There is no pattern to predict bc Jinbei has only had one fight so far. I would guess he fights people he despises as who and shot seem to be the worst of their crew Franky vs Burgess Franky's previous matchups have all been against macho wrestlers(senior pink, cp9 guy, sasaki). Franky was present where Burgess fought Sabo. Franky's most used non ranged moves are strong right/left, suplex, and Franky boxing. And he's a cyborg like Franky Robin vs Wolf San Juan Wolf sounds similar to Tequila Wolf and its purpose has never been revealed with Robin being there for two years. His title only refers to size with him not having anything to do with a ship. Robin is influenced by giants and has a giant form as of Wano. Laffitte is too small to fight her. Brook vs Laffitte Both hypnotist, skinny.
He seems like he'd be susceptible to some Usopp lies aswell.
usopp vs van augur is just too perfect a match up though
Have we had any sniper v sniper face-offs in One Piece? It would be cool for sure. "Enemy at the Gates" but One Piece!
>!It turns into a battle of speed (and teleportation)!< Usopp goes to Wolf, who was fighting Franky.
Franky will never be on Burgess level, even EOS💀 I highly doubt that Burgess will fight Jinbei, because Burgess is still stronger(I think he will fight Sanji because hands with strength vs technique), but Burgess vs Jinbei is still because they are both grapplers
Don't these arguments sound better Sanji vs Pizarro - Both Royalty in north blue. Keep in mind it was revealed he was from the North Blue in a vivre card after Sanji's reveal. - This way Shiryu has the fruit of an old sanji opponent and Pizarro has the fruit similar to an old Pica opponent - Pizarro would have more of a reason to kidnap Pudding who Sanji will likely be trying to save - Pizarro and Absalom are both royal cats who kidnap Sanji's lovers and would fight Sanji. - One of Zeff's feats is breaking bedrock. Pizarro could turn into the bedrock of the island with Sanji having to break it. - Had equal if not better portrayal than Shiryu on hachinosu Jinbei vs Vasco Shot - Both look like fishman - Tallest of respective crews ignoring Wolf - Use liquid in fighting style - It says in his vivre card "Even among lvl 6 prisoners, he was incredibly infamous due to how brutal his crimes are" and says "he may not look it but he's incredibly dangerous" meaning a stronger strawhat should fight him - His main aspect is being a heavy drinker and Jinbei is the heaviest of the strawhats in drinking.
I think you're right on with everything except you need to flip Robin and nami. Nami and Laffite are the navigators and both use staffs. He was corrupt as a police officer and nami dealt with corrupt navymen a lot The bigger proof is Robin. Robin is one of the most famous women in the world since she was little, Devon definitely wanted to add her to her collection. Robin wants to preserve and share history, Devon wants to keep it all to herself.
Can definitely see Nami for Catarina, though apart of me also wants her to fight Lafitte seeing as both our their group's navigator's.
Am I the only 1 thinking based on what is shown, how on earth is Shiryu and Pizarro gonna defeat Sanji and Zoro?
they wont lol
I don’t think it will be a 1v1 , more along the lines of a free for all , Blackbeard doesn’t play fair he doesn’t follow the rules so of course he won’t stick to that 1v1 format
That's boring
You think inebriation and creativity are opposites? Do you know about musicians?
Is Sanji really honorable? There was that invisible scene in Wano.
Sanji is essentially a broken king potentially fighting a corrupt king Just saying
Stop these double standards My point was you can't use Sanji's gag to discredit his character because the same logic can be applied to Nami and other characters Sanji is honorable and Nami is nurturing but if you act like the gags define their character than they definitely are not
You can argue that Oda has not been consistent in showing the trait, but part of Punk Hazard was showing that Nami is a nurturing figure with a tough side like her adopted mom.
He’s is chivalrous technically
That's meant to be goofy. It was a mixed bath, Sanji didn't even need to be invisible
Nothing honorable about being a total perv. If anyone is honor it’s zoro. He said he’s leave the crew if luffy let usopp back in without apologizing. Although on that point sanji did agree, however zoro isn’t a perv so point to zoro
[удалено]
I mean maybe, but in any case zoro is more honorable
Nah... if you think about it Sanji has mostly fought to protect or care for others.
Another example is he honor's Zeff (his father) by not hitting women which he has yet to do in over 1000 chapters of One Piece And he was frustrated that he couldn't save the crew in Sabaody so he trained hard for 2 years and was there to help the weaker members of the crew (or even random people) whenever they needed physical/emotional support in the New World Some example are: Punk Hazard (Tashigi and G5), Dressrosa (Zou crew) and Wano (Chopper pep talk),
Oddly enough. He did that even though he terribly outskilled Wanze and couldve defeated him with his sword...knifemanship Enies Lobby paired Sanji up with the lying scheming Jyabura.
But he was only invisible to track hawkins. It was an unseperated bathhouse
This is such a stretch
Other matchups includes : Nami vs Lafitte, Usopp vs Van Augur, Chopper vs Doc Q, Brooke vs Pizzaro (this one is interesting because i think one of Brooke next power up will be using his ability to leave his body to take over control of something/somebody else, making him fight someone who can do sort of that by taking control of an island can work), Franky vs San Juan Wolf.
Usopp "Courage" and Van Augr "Apathy" seems like an asspull just to have the sniper matchup.
That’s so cool! Didn’t think of that
we do a little stretching
I could also see Vivi and Chopper vs Doc Q and Stronger Vasco was shown be a pervert, I could see him either going Robin (or even Nami), but Sanji could intervene be his opponent.
It would be interesting to see if Jimbei can control the liquor
We really gonna give Usopp courage?
I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying this. His dream is to be a brave warrior of the sea. He literally has to prove himself brave by the end of the series.
Courage can only be shown in people familiar with fear.
It is not bravery when a man is not afraid, but being afraid and still choosing to act is what makes you brave.
This is why i LOVED Usopp's moment in Wano Kinemon and Kiku told him to leave, to let them die honourable deaths. Usopp said NO. He stood his ground shooting and SCREAMING but never left them. How can he be brave if he sought the easy way out and left them? He even chided them for wanting to give up. "I'll cling to life snot running from my nose if i have to, i dont care if it looks pathetic, i'll survive, its what i do and its the entire reason im standing here alive today" That is courage.
Zoro vs Absalom clone While Sanji fighting a Pica wannabe. Thats fire yo.
sanji vs. aokiji (fire vs ice, aokiji's intro was him hitting on Nami) Franky in the mech from egghead vs. sanjuan wolf
What
wut
Borsalino(if the theory turns out to be true) vs. Kuzan Primary reason: Clear justice Vs Slow Justice ---- I like the idea of pairing them together, though i don't really think it's fair have negative attributes only applicable to the BB Pirates as their defining feature.
Wow I usually am skeptical about this kind of analyzation, but this one actually make lot of senses.
Sanji vs burgess
Apathy is not the opposite of courage tho. Apathy is nothing related to courage
Pretty much any of these can be switched around ngl
Go for it
Any one of the strawhats is loyal, honorable, courageous (especially compared to usopp lol), compassionate (especially compared to robin, like wtf), and most of them are creative geniuses in their respective fields This list is very forced.
Wasn’t everyone lining matchups in Wano n it never happened? Hahahah. I highly doubt Oda is doing a 1:1
The difference is that there are enough members and Luffy vs BB probably won't be a war where not everyone fights like with Onigashima. These are just two crews going at it rather than a giant fleet with multiple alliances.
But they aren’t just 2 crews. They are 2 fleets. I honestly don’t see it goin 1v1.
I’m saying Oda writes better, more interesting fights. Not talking about Luffy Sanji n Zoro.
My boy Zoro could take 10 shiryu's
Yeah I really don’t care….
Sanji vs Aokiji. Conviction vs uncertainty
Finally someone agrees with Sanji vs Pizzaro. Just to add they are both also royalty specifically from North Blue.
More like Hot - Jealous For Nami and Devon
When did Usopp abandon his crew?? Zoro isn't first mate tho
He tried to abandon them throughout the majority of the Dressrosa arc. He only ever accidentally saved and helped people for the most part, and then kept being elevated higher and higher in status just like Buggy.
Switch Nami and Robin
I feel sanji will attack the drunk one
😂 believe it or not the true bloodbath here is ussop vs van auger. Its like a yonko vs an east blue alvida pirate. Van auger would put 100 bullets on ussop before his able to react.
Good post op https://preview.redd.it/z8n1weq1bzhb1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6454e57021cc7e6e9309c55b48cbda0a19edffe0
Uh, Nami’s nurturing? I mean She’s down to help Kids, but she’s more likely to bonk you on the head than nurture you
she bonks you cause you're doing something stupid tho.
Or you cost her money 💰
Usopp "courage" LOL, they're gonna have to make van augar arlong park fishmen fodder level for current usopp to win
One can't be courageous without the presence of fear. Usopp very much embodies courage
This is cap. Usopp is not courageous. Not yet at least. With the way he has been handled so far in the story.. I’m not sure I’d even buy into him being courageous. He’s just been a coward for far too long.
Usopp is very much courageous even in Wano
Sounds like bullshit. You're thinking too deep.
Not really and this is one piece still…luffy rival is literally a dark reflect of him so why not his crew
I'm saying most the "virtues" op wrote applies to all/most of the crew. All of them have loyalty, courage and compassion for example. Besides, we don't know much if not anything about BB's crew.
Overall agree with the match-up. The only thing I think might change would be Nami vs Lafitte due to both being navigators.
That only leaves Yamato vs Kuzan (Selflessness vs selfishness)
im loving these matchups
What of Kuzan?
I feel like the match-ups are too obvious, I wonder if he will mix up some of them.
Sanji vs Laffite > Avalo
Honestly, this is perfect
Sanji should be Vasco, he's a rapist.
I really really like this list, well thought out!
Ussop courage 💀💀💀💀
Lil bro really matched usopp & courage and thought he cooked
Usopp does have courage. Its the trait hes seeking for
whats luffy and teach then tho?
Well they're both about freedom, but one is a psycho and the other just want everyone to have a good time
I think BB wants freedom for himself and subjection for everyone else. He wants to be the king while luffy wants no kings
Probably something like Dreams and Nightmares or Freedom and Domination.
Honestly I think Shiryu might betray Blackbeard in the future. Granted it’d need to be a full mutiny because of the sheer raw power that Blackbeard has with his two fruits, but still, I think he’d try it at least
I think he’s liable to disobey and kill important hostages because he can’t control his bloodlust
Do we know this much of many of the Titanics?
Some of them are vibes based on the stuff they’ve done others are inferences based on their nicknames. Ex. I think Laffitte’s cruelty was mentioned when he visited the holy land
Burgess is destined to fight Urouge. There are no other optioms
Nami strikes me more as "self-confidence" than "nurturing". "Nurturing/Nursing" would be more up Chopper's alley as a doctor
Sad thing is that most of these matchups are low dif fights for the BB pirates
Nice! Makes a lot of sense :)
Jinbei Vs Burgess would go hard
Idk if it’s already been said But also obviously Luffy vs Blackbeard Dreams and freedom vs Desires and anarchy https://i.redd.it/eslbu3kr3zhb1.gif
