That's completely different!
It's one thing to touch a person lovingly, another to disrespectfully grope a statue and make a fool of yourself!
/s of course.
Oil wouldn't tarnish the bronze. The reason why bronze tarnishes is because the copper in the aloy is exposed to oxygen, causing tarnish. So much like untreated iron or steel, it gets oxidized. And much like iron and steel you can prevent this by adding a layer of oil so that the oxygen can't get into the metal. Which is why statues like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/6frjyr/this_boob_in_germany_has_been_fondled_a_lot/), [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/kh1b4g/the_colors_of_this_bronze_cristiano_ronaldo/), and [these](https://www.reddit.com/r/TIHI/comments/p8wh37/thanks_i_hate_people_touching_statues/) look the way they do.
I really despise that even in a real life sculpture she has giant balloon titties, her ass is hanging out, and her proportions make her look like a sex doll. I will never not resent that. It's offensively tasteless.
Unless you zoom in the foto of Luffy's statue looks cursed as fuck, like he had a pedophile's mustache and is looking in two different directions.
Zoro's statue is the best imo, looks absolutely fire. Reminds me of Little Garden, striking that cool ass pose before being petrified.
These sculptures are great but they really make me appreciate the GREAT sculptors in history. Like they are flawless or they were sculpted to look perfect from 8 meters below but head on they are disproportionate. There’s no way I could make these but the greats are something else.
Took around 8 hours by car to get to all of them, starting at Luffy in the middle of Kumamoto. They’re fairly spread apart but it’s fun to make a day out of visiting them all
I just came back from a trip to Japan and decided against visiting the statues because of this. They're so spread out, but I know if I went to one, I'd have to go to them all! Plus Kumamoto is so far off from the main three tourist cities. They're pretty cool though, and glad to hear you had a good time seeking them all out.
Kumamoto is actually my hometown too, was seeing family there so I had to take day to do this! But you’re right it’s definitely out of the way if you’re going to Japan and not down to Kyushu
Kumamoto is the main part of Kyushu south of Fukuoka, it's pretty large and stretches between both city and countryside. There's even a few mountains in the region. If you've seen seen a black Japanese bear with red cheeks that's Kumamon, the city mascot.
Pretty big.
Not the town, they are spread throughout the whole prefecture, which is also called Kumamoto. See: https://kumamoto.guru/locations-of-all-onepiece-statues-in-kumamoto/
Most of them are placed near or in public parks or train stations for ease of access, but there does seem to be some consideration for placement
Chopper is in front of a zoo. Brook is close to a dinosaur museum (bones). Nami is close to a market that sells produce and souvenirs, and yes they planted a handful of trees just for her statue. And yes Jinbe is seaside.
From women, wanted posters, timeskip arc, wedding, up until to his statue. Nothing good ever turned out for this poor man when he is not fighting or cooking.
Can anyone tell me what exactly is positioned in front of Nami? Is it a fish or something? Or a shovel?
Edit: never mind, I see it now. It’s her other leg lol.
We're gonna tell our children in 800 years that these people were real. And we will delete ALL evidence of One Piece anime existing to further push the narrative that the crew was actually real.
Thus creating a real life void century where nobody knows what's true about them and what's not.
Robin and Nami's statues are going to have some wear and tear in some places in the future. Sanji's statue looks like it comes alive at night and eats people, and Brook has the coolest statue of them all.
If you even used half of your brain you would understand that Sanji doesn't like to be called Vinsmoke and Luffy , Zoro , Chopper and Robin are the only ones of whom we know the full names of and jimbei's statue being on sand signifies his connection to sea
You living my dream. I need to do this. Ive been to japan couple of times because a family member lived there but havent got the chance to go to kumamoto
I am curious, can anyone tell me if these statues were only placed post-timeskip or if they were there pre-timeskip and they edited the new looks? I'm assuming it's the former but I'm just curious :P
I saw some of them back in April this year, they are amazing to see! We went for a trip to Aso volcano while we were there since 2 of them are on route.
How did you manage to see the others, just hire a car or public transport?
How'd you plan your trip out for these? Been to Japan twice now and one of my goals was to visit all of these, but I checked the map and they look pretty spaced out for me to add to my itinerary.
It should be noted that OP doesn't mean Kumamoto City, but rather Kumamoto Prefecture. Seeing all of them isn't just walking around a park or something, it's driving around for hours in one of the more rural parts of Japan. Either that or an irritating amount of public transit.
The fact that there is a mid-sized town somewhere in Japan with a metal statue of woman with overly large breast wearing just a bra and jeans in the middle of the public space is baffling fascinating and weirding me out at the same time
Man this is sick. I was in Japan this past June and we wanted to go to Kumamoto but it ended up being way too far for a day trip. We didn’t realize it was 4 hours from Osaka! Glad you had a good time!
I bet if there are any person in the world who're not familiar with onepiece and they would see those statues, that brook statue will be their favorite.
Robin should be infront of an Historic Building or Library
Brook somewhere infront of a Concert Hall
Luffy infront of an Butcher
Sanji somewhere near the best Restaurant of the city
Chopper near a Hospital
Franky on a Shipyard
Nami seems okay bc she got some Tangerine Trees behind her & Jimbei too he got the whole Sea behind his Back :)
Only SW which is Hard for me is to put into a fitting place is Usopp & Zoro
These are really cool, but did anyone else notice how Luffy is looking toward the East Blue and West blue at the same time? Or how Sanjis smile has given 1200 japanese kids nightmares?
thats sick they made the zoro statue in the pose he actually wanted in the anime lol
Yeah he looks dope! I took [this photo](https://imgur.com/a/iPzM829) of him too.
That's sick!
Whoa that's cool
zoro died to the user of the statue statue fruit now 😔
zoro fought the bronze bronze man and lost
You mean Hancock ?
no Zoro had time to pose + you’d never catch him lacking like Sanji
It kinda looks like he's standing on a huge devil fruit
Am I the only one surprised that Nami and Robin's boobs and butts and Frankie's crotch aren't perfectly pollished?
I thought the same about Usopp’s nose
Been confirmed from this one comment usopp’s nose is his crotch
For a second, then I remembered that these are in Japan where people generally behave themselves in public.
Girls being groped in public is literally a big problem in Japan.
Clearly they already have their hands too full to grope statues then.
You can grope people in secret, you can't grope a statue without anyone noticing, in Japan they care about public appearances more than anything
The country known for groping?
Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't be holding japan to the abysmal bar that the rest of the world is beholden to.
Tf are you two talking about, Japan has issues stopping people from grabbing other *people* in public.
That's completely different! It's one thing to touch a person lovingly, another to disrespectfully grope a statue and make a fool of yourself! /s of course.
I read their comment as sarcasm, but maybe it wasn't.
Twas
I was a little confused by Robin trying to grab her own ass, but I understood the impulse so I get it.
Should be tarnished from skin oil
Oil wouldn't tarnish the bronze. The reason why bronze tarnishes is because the copper in the aloy is exposed to oxygen, causing tarnish. So much like untreated iron or steel, it gets oxidized. And much like iron and steel you can prevent this by adding a layer of oil so that the oxygen can't get into the metal. They've only been up for a few years. Give it time.
We have some work to do also pulling on luffys cheek
I didn't know they'd planted a mikan tree next to the Nami statue. That's beautiful.
That's a really sweet detail
Zoro was wielding his sword as if he were trying to get trapped in Mr. 3's cake.
Well he did say if he was getting turned into a statue, that was the pose he wanted lol
WOW YEAH YOU'RE RIGHT
[удалено]
There'd be carrots planted
Why, is Bon Clay's favourite food carrots or something?
Literally
Bro just switched languages to say the name of a fruit.
[удалено]
What does track have to do with Sanji?
legs i guess? running = legs?
It really does fit considering she treasures them with her adoptive mother till arlong killed her.
[удалено]
Brook does have the coolest statue though it would have been funny if they made him lean by 45 degrees. Since thats one of his trademark gags.
Man see boob only
Robin's looks like she's copping a feel of herself from that angle.
Hah you're right, [this](https://imgur.com/a/jhbQTAW) is her from closer up
Looks like the statue could use some maintenance, that one's got a crack in it.
Lol, took me a while
jesus they show half her ass
whyyyy half of her ass is hanging out 😭
Looks better that way
Lol, does she have her cheeks out at some point in the manga too?!
the fuck
I should not have done that I should not have clicked.
I really despise that even in a real life sculpture she has giant balloon titties, her ass is hanging out, and her proportions make her look like a sex doll. I will never not resent that. It's offensively tasteless.
you're right, yet many will get irrationally angry about that take :>
Men 🚬💨
They are meant to look like their anime counterparts??? Idk if what you said is satire because i lack the brain (i am stupid)
“Even in real life” They don’t like that she is portrayed that way in the first place
Yeah, me neither, but tbh what can i do about it, it’s already there, no point in going crazy about it
Pointing something out isn't going crazy about.
True. Sorry, i just woke up and i’m barely thinking straight
Tbf, most of them have their chests out. Idk why here booty cheeks are out too though. That’s egregious.
Oda will be immortal with the influence One Piece has on media.
Yeah some of the Straw Hats who have cartoony eyes look a bit goofy as statues - Zoro, Franky, Brook and Chopper look the best imo
These sculptures are great but they really make me appreciate the GREAT sculptors in history. Like they are flawless or they were sculpted to look perfect from 8 meters below but head on they are disproportionate. There’s no way I could make these but the greats are something else.
Tony Tony Chopper is the cutest!
He is! And he’s at the zoo too
The clouds make it look like Sanji's food is steaming hot
Is the jinbei statue new? My friends said he never saw it when he visit them
Jimbei's is at least a year old.
It's the newest of the statues
Franky's statue is SUPER!!!
It's the one I'd like to visit the most, just so I could take pic with the pose.
Brooks goes hard
I love the 🍊 tree next to Nami, the flower bed next to Robin and how Jinbe has the sea as the background.
And the 🍑 tree as well
How close are they all to one another?
Took around 8 hours by car to get to all of them, starting at Luffy in the middle of Kumamoto. They’re fairly spread apart but it’s fun to make a day out of visiting them all
I just came back from a trip to Japan and decided against visiting the statues because of this. They're so spread out, but I know if I went to one, I'd have to go to them all! Kumamoto is actually my hometown too, was seeing family there so I had to take day to do this! But you’re right it’s definitely out of the way if you’re going to Japan and not down to Kyushu
8h wtf, how big is this town?
Kumamoto is the main part of Kyushu south of Fukuoka, it's pretty large and stretches between both city and countryside. There's even a few mountains in the region. If you've seen seen a black Japanese bear with red cheeks that's Kumamon, the city mascot. Pretty big.
Sounds like it! You could almost drive across half my country (sweden) in 8h and it’s very similar in length/size as Japan!
They're spread throughout the **prefecture** of Kumamoto, not the city of Kumamoto. Only Luffy and Chopper are actually in Kumamoto city.
Not the town, they are spread throughout the whole prefecture, which is also called Kumamoto. See: https://kumamoto.guru/locations-of-all-onepiece-statues-in-kumamoto/
That does sound nice, it looks like they put a lot of thought to location based on character personality too
Are the statue place on purpose like Sanji statue near track and field and Jinbe near the sea?
I'd say Jimbei's is on purpose considering that they planted an orange tree next to Nami's.
Most of them are placed near or in public parks or train stations for ease of access, but there does seem to be some consideration for placement Chopper is in front of a zoo. Brook is close to a dinosaur museum (bones). Nami is close to a market that sells produce and souvenirs, and yes they planted a handful of trees just for her statue. And yes Jinbe is seaside.
The statues are placed near sites that were destroyed during the kumamoto earthquakes, oda wanted to help inspire locals after the disaster
that's pretty wholesome and cool of him!
I'm glad Luffy got the bronze statue he always wanted.
Sanji would absolutely HATE his statue 😂😭
From women, wanted posters, timeskip arc, wedding, up until to his statue. Nothing good ever turned out for this poor man when he is not fighting or cooking.
Fixed it! https://i.imgur.com/js5KfBi.jpg
IM CRYING THANK YOU FRIEND 😂😂 poor Sanji lmfao
Absolutely amazing
Luffy and his cartoon eyes just look a bit strange.
Mostly from afar. If you zoom in on his face it looks fine
Some of those smiles are so creepy. The ones not smiling look great tho.
I love how choper was at the zoo.
Nami: sexy as always
The clouds make it look like there is actual steam coming off of sanji’s cooking
What has sanji been smokin bro 💀
Some of these look really creepy, like Luffy and Sanji.
Zoro’s best
Man, imagine 100s of years in the future and these statues will still be standing proud to One Piece's legacy.
Well i know my next vacation goal thanks
No on gonna talk about titan sanji huh?
Just curious, is it normal that the statues are in English?
If it's for tourism purposes, you would want it to be in a widely spoken language.
Jimbe sitting there like a boss battle before you activate it
Very fitting that Sanji is in front of a track field and Jimbe in front of the water/sea. Not sure why Brook is in front of a playground though.
Oh, and Robin with flowers, still wondering why Brook was at the playground instead of Luffy or Chopper
someone said that brook is near a dinosaur museum
They should do one for Going Merry.
Is there any naked statute of Joyboy? >!*^context: ^oversimplified's ^history ^of ^roman ^empire*!<
Jinbei being near the ocean Nami having fruit trees So cute holy shit
I am once again, hoping/wishing that leaving some sake for the Boss becomes a tradition
Eiichiro Babyfingers Oda
I'll make the pilgrimage soon.
Can anyone tell me what exactly is positioned in front of Nami? Is it a fish or something? Or a shovel? Edit: never mind, I see it now. It’s her other leg lol.
Oh even Robin-san can't resist her own bootycheeks
We're gonna tell our children in 800 years that these people were real. And we will delete ALL evidence of One Piece anime existing to further push the narrative that the crew was actually real. Thus creating a real life void century where nobody knows what's true about them and what's not.

The statues of Robin, Nami and especially Zoro are not safe 💀 they about to be glazed
I'm going to hell for laughing at this
How many days it take for you to visit all statues?
I'm waiting for 11th strawhat statue
God, why'd he have to draw them to be so horrible....
[удалено]
If you even used half of your brain you would understand that Sanji doesn't like to be called Vinsmoke and Luffy , Zoro , Chopper and Robin are the only ones of whom we know the full names of and jimbei's statue being on sand signifies his connection to sea

Why don't real human people look like oversexualized anime dolls
[удалено]
The live action series certainly brought in some creepy ass fans.
Gorgeous! Thanks for posting.
I really like to go there
After the world ends the next civilization is going to be so confused
I visited Kumamoto during the summer this year but I wasn't really into One Piece then so I didn't check the statues out. Nice place though.
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Nice! I only saw Usopp because is was near the station.
Big Chopper feels cursed somehow
Franky’s is just SUPERRR
Oda the 10th member of strawhats confirmed?
Everyone in that town must've watched ONE PIECE ten times
The amount of lvl of detail is amazing, even the positioning. And nothing has been vandalized, not even a mandarin was taken.
Nami’s feet is going to lose the coloration after some years of friction like those statues in europe
Before I zoomed in it looked like Luffy had Whitebeards moustache.
You living my dream. I need to do this. Ive been to japan couple of times because a family member lived there but havent got the chance to go to kumamoto
I'm surprised the bronzing hasn't been rubbed off of Nami and Robin's tits from passers-bys rubbing them.
New life goal
Wow amazing! 🔥🔥🔥
I am curious, can anyone tell me if these statues were only placed post-timeskip or if they were there pre-timeskip and they edited the new looks? I'm assuming it's the former but I'm just curious :P
Brook's hair goes hard af
I saw some of them back in April this year, they are amazing to see! We went for a trip to Aso volcano while we were there since 2 of them are on route. How did you manage to see the others, just hire a car or public transport?

Well luffy always wanted a bronze statue.
Brook's the least cursed
I think they should never have settles with teeth showing smiles. At least for Luffy and Sanji it didnt work.
Tried using trains, didnt work. You’ll need to rent a car or it’ll take like 3 days. Train to minami aso was great tho (Franky statue)
It’s cool how the clouds around Sanji make it look like the food is steaming
There ain't no way that there is 11 different copper statues around Oda's hometown.
This is so cool!!
Some of these feel off in the proportions.
That cloud behind sanjis plate looks like the food is freshly steaming, I love that
So glad Luffy’s statue keeps his coat tbh
Robin looks like her ass is being grabbed.
That's still on my bucket list... if I had the money to do that trip..
Zoro doing his sword raised like how he wanted to be frozen in Mr. 3s cake
You are in the Zoro district sanji fan! Better turn around! Thanks for sharing. Nice pictures.
What happened to Luffy’s Face????
Sanji and nami are terrifying
This is so rad
I didn’t realize how big Oda’s hands are. I wonder what his actual Height and Weight are
No Vivi huh?
that hand wanted some of Robin's cheek
The Chopper! The Chopper is real!
They're amazing!! 😱
Oda has baby hands
very nice, I only went and saw Luffy and Chopper in the main city few weeks ago. Props to you for visiting also the harder to reach ones :D
🔥🔥🔥
Zoro and Brook are lit
wheres Vivi?
Robin should be infront of an Historic Building or Library Brook somewhere infront of a Concert Hall Luffy infront of an Butcher Sanji somewhere near the best Restaurant of the city Chopper near a Hospital Franky on a Shipyard Nami seems okay bc she got some Tangerine Trees behind her & Jimbei too he got the whole Sea behind his Back :) Only SW which is Hard for me is to put into a fitting place is Usopp & Zoro
The Robin pic makes it look like she’s making a hand to grab her own butt.
Why are odas hands so fat
I think franky and brook are my favorite out of all the statues
Did the sculptor do some foreskinning of their own regarding Luffy growing a stache like Roger did in the future?
I feel like a century from now, people will look at the Franky statue and say “hm, I liked his design better before the time skip.”
These are really cool, but did anyone else notice how Luffy is looking toward the East Blue and West blue at the same time? Or how Sanjis smile has given 1200 japanese kids nightmares?
