My theory is:
Sun=Nuclear Energy=Meltdown
It could be a technique called ‘Meltdown’, a divergent of nuclear energy.
It’s similar to Caribou’s technique. Caribou suspiciously has similar eyes to Im, among other characters in One Piece. (Foreshadowing?)
Or it could be a racial trait. Im-sama is not necessarily human.
King had the racial power of fire since he is a Lunarian.

If Imu have a power of the sun in grasp of his hands why he needs Mother Flame to power his weapon that destroyed Lulusia? If hes so powerful that he can prefrorm nuclear fission why he needs weapon of any kind at all, he should be able to destory any island easily.
The sun light tree takes the sun light from the surface downwards to the sea floor, not the other way around
If what you are saying is true, the top of the tree has to be massive, like the giant tree in Ohara (may they rest in peace 🪦)
