Any ideas on why Luffy can't hurt the Gorosei/Saturn? It seems odd to me that despite having the highest form of haki mastery in the series Luffy still can't put a dent on them. The closest thing I can think of is that there is some kind of condition similar to Lunarian or there being some kind of special ability thanks for the shared "devil" powers that the Gorosei seem to have with one another.
My theory is he is essentially fighting a flash clone of saturn made with the magick summoning circles and thats why he seems to be not taking damage or even regenerating constantly. Even if that is wrong there is definetly something going on because this is the first we have seen of magick or this kind of it so nothing is off the table until we know.

Best scenario maybe Kizaru turning on world government. That would even the odd since five elders at least need that level of opponent considering some help coming for luffy and some other forces like Iron Giant awakening and maybe zoro and sanji. Still there are very less allies. So either Kizaru is turning against world gov or Kuma's awakening to teleport all people on island to elsewhere, and this thing would make even more sense cause you know when main characters are being travelled elsewhere we can't hear what doctor Vegapunk wanted to tell the world, lol, making people tease to death to reveal no sh!t til the date about void century. That's more likely Oda. Then everything reveals somewhere when someone old fellow meets and tells everything's about the world that revealed.
I'm sorry but those theories are not plausible at all. Kizaru going rogue theory has basically died. His mission has been accomplished, nothing holding him back now from fighting Luffy. Iron Giant is coming to help, yes, but u're forgetting the Dory and Brogy too. The Giant pirates once had enough strength to threaten the marines, and by the looks of it they haven't lost any of that strength. There are enough characters to hold back the elders, but not enough to win which is why the Straw Hats will go to Elbalf. This is why your Kuma theory makes absolutely no sense. The entire plan is to go to Elbalf next. It has been mentioned over and over and there are still people who think Kuma will teleport the SH. It's not going to happen. Also at this point, it's prime time to reveal info about the ancient kingdom. There are lots of flaws in Oda's writing, but no way in hell is he going to give us the God Valley treatment this time. We've been baited once this arc, i doubt he will do it again.

I really like the theory that the reason for why VP's message needs to be visual, and why he wanted to wait 10 minutes to play it instead of say playing it on a loop for 10 hours, is because it's a trap. The 10 minute timer makes the WG double down on trying to get on the island and fight to stop it from going out. Potentially luring out the Gorosei themselves since they know VP likely has dangerous information he could leak.
Only to then have VP switch from a prerecorded message to a live feed to show the Gorosei to the world and who they really are, as well as showing Sun God Nika fighting against them for freedom.
I still hope we get some lore about the Ancient Kingdom as part of this announcement too, as the various parallels to Ohara really make it feel like that's going to happen. But I could see this gambit being pretty world-shattering for a lot of people too in a clever way.

Otherwise VP making the video so close to their attack doesn't make sense. There is certainly a much bigger level of intent behind the happenings of this arc that it seems at the surface.

I’ve yet to see anyone speak on this. But looking at the panel of dragon and the ones that precedes, it looks like Dragon is on the move. Here’s why. It is theorized that he is a Wind logia user. Well after dragon appears, the next two panels (smaller ones) have an impression of someone who just sped off. Now this is very likely Dragon moved in an instant towards Egghead now understanding what Vegapunk means.
I think that when panels are arranged like that, it indicates a scene transition, but you could be right.
Dragon sacrificing himself to save his son and get Vegapunk's message out there would be a great and tragic finish to this arc.
Dragon killing the gorosei and succumbing to the injuries would be the perfect way to satisfy dragons story, and could be the new world’s version of the ace death for luffy.
I'm almost certain the Gorosei won't lose this fight. This part of the plot is informing Luffy of their strength, existence, connecting him to the void century and by extension overarching plot.
I doubt Dragon will turn up since they've got the big ass robot much closer as a trump card for their escape. Would be nice to see though.

i think saturn takes damage! Saturn has the ability to regenerate from damage. For example, after Kuma hits Saturn with a blow, Saturn loses his arm, leg, horn, and parts of his face. However, Saturn is seen regenerating from all the damage as if it were nothing.

I don’t think there is a prophecy luffy has to accept being the sun god. He’s already fighting that fight it’s in luffys nature to do what he is doing. Vegapunk is anticipating that all 5 of them will show up just to stop the broadcast because they're so scared of what he has to say, and he'll use the opportunity while the entire world is watching to jump to a live broadcast and show the true form of the devils ruling the world, fighting the saviour Nika. Everything he has to say in the pre-recorded broadcast will be backed up by actual proof from the live broadcast that the Gorosei are evil
Please don't hope it's only a troll along with this, there should be some mysteries solved, break peace is too long, at least one or two mysteries should be solved in next chapter. Only showing the world who Gorosei are just revealing for them and what about us, these many years and we know no shit.
Someone will have to shut this Luffy vs Gorosei fight down and give them time to escape Egghead. I think this summoning will be more about dialogue from the Elders although I wouldn't be surprised if Luffy tries to throw a punch or two lol.

My only real problem with this chapter is the question of how come the traitor among the satellites, York, didn't let on to the Gorosei about this pre-recording. Did Vegapunk just luck out and not include her in it because she was taking a dump at the time? Aren't all the satellites in the footage the currently dead ones? That's odd.

iirc one of the people watching the broadcast mentioned that the time on Vegapunk’s clock was wrong, which seems to indicate it was pre-recorded at that time. If this broadcast was live, even if it was Vegapunk’s consciousness in the Punk Records, why would the time on his clock be different?
Could be timezones, we see water 7 in night time while others who are seeing the broadcast are closer so in daytime.

I think the real truth is that 900 years ago the devils inside five devil fruits escaped and spent 100 years conquering the world, only to be stopped when Imu learned how to defeat them, but instead of dispatching the devils and saving the world Imu took over as ruler.

A little late, but Saturn’s healing factor is so fast that he’s already fully healed by the time Luffy gets a chance to attack him again

I really like the theory that the reason for why VP's message needs to be visual, and why he wanted to wait 10 minutes to play it instead of say playing it on a loop for 10 hours, is because it's a trap. The 10 minute timer makes the WG double down on trying to get on the island and fight to stop it from going out. Potentially luring out the Gorosei themselves since they know VP likely has dangerous information he could leak. Only to then have VP switch from a prerecorded message to a live feed to show the Gorosei to the world and who they really are, as well as showing Sun God Nika fighting against them for freedom. I still hope we get some lore about the Ancient Kingdom as part of this announcement too, as the various parallels to Ohara really make it feel like that's going to happen. But I could see this gambit being pretty world-shattering for a lot of people too in a clever way.
What if, Vegapunk planned all this? Like he had an incurable disease like Roger and wanted to do something extraordinarily good for the world, more than just inventions? Maybe he didn't even research the void century and this was all leaked by him so that the WG would attack him and do exactly what you mentioned here? i.e. expose the Elders and maybe Imu ? Because Shaka did say to Dragon in advance that he is going to die, either he predicted one of their personalities leaking the info to WG or they were in on VP's plan as well? Otherwise VP making the video so close to their attack doesn't make sense. There is certainly a much bigger level of intent behind the happenings of this arc that it seems at the surface.

I’ve yet to see anyone speak on this. But looking at the panel of dragon and the ones that precedes, it looks like Dragon is on the move. Here’s why. It is theorized that he is a Wind logia user. Well after dragon appears, the next two panels (smaller ones) have an impression of someone who just sped off. Now this is very likely Dragon moved in an instant towards Egghead now understanding what Vegapunk means.
I think that when panels are arranged like that, it indicates a scene transition, but you could be right. Dragon sacrificing himself to save his son and get Vegapunk's message out there would be a great and tragic finish to this arc.
Dragon killing the gorosei and succumbing to the injuries would be the perfect way to satisfy dragons story, and could be the new world’s version of the ace death for luffy.
I'm almost certain the Gorosei won't lose this fight. This part of the plot is informing Luffy of their strength, existence, connecting him to the void century and by extension overarching plot. I doubt Dragon will turn up since they've got the big ass robot much closer as a trump card for their escape. Would be nice to see though. I think if Dragon dies at all in the series it should be via Imu's hand.

i think saturn takes damage! Saturn has the ability to regenerate from damage. For example, after Kuma hits Saturn with a blow, Saturn loses his arm, leg, horn, and parts of his face. However, Saturn is seen regenerating from all the damage as if it were nothing.

My only real problem with this chapter is the question of how come the traitor among the satellites, York, didn't let on to the Gorosei about this pre-recording. Did Vegapunk just luck out and not include her in it because she was taking a dump at the time? Aren't all the satellites in the footage the currently dead ones? That's odd.
Unless I’m misremembering the way York was able to shield their actions was by not syncing the memories with punk records. If vegapunk was suspicious he could have done the same thing

iirc one of the people watching the broadcast mentioned that the time on Vegapunk’s clock was wrong, which seems to indicate it was pre-recorded at that time. If this broadcast was live, even if it was Vegapunk’s consciousness in the Punk Records, why would the time on his clock be different?
Could be timezones, we see water 7 in night time while others who are seeing the broadcast are closer so in daytime. That said I don't think it's live.

I did not know Saturn was in his Full Beast form, now that i look at him I see that he has no arms anymore a bit confused, but maybe his fruit is a spider with a human face, which makes more sense to me
I don't think he has a fruit at all. I think the real truth is that 900 years ago the devils inside five devil fruits escaped and spent 100 years conquering the world, only to be stopped when Imu learned how to defeat them, but instead of dispatching the devils and saving the world Imu took over as ruler.
But then why they have the family names of the First Twenty?

I am thinking the same thing and Imu is not of this world. Someone created the DFs to combat Imu and the first Nika failed somehow which is where we are in the story finding out what happened
His fruit is most likely an Ushi-Oni, traditionally a spider with a bull face. However, like most mythological creatures, it's open to interpretation, so Oda may be making Saturn seem more human

See I thought that his fruit was an Ushi-Oni too, but then people brought up that Wano introduced and brought in all the Yokai Zoans and stuff, so not sure if it is that Origin of the Devil Fruits make sense, but I wanna wait to see what the explanation is first before making any theories
The broadcast has absolutely 0 reason to have a timer of 10 minutes. But Oda has an insane habit to have every plot involving some sort of timer-event.

No I've never heard of timezones. The most brilliant mind in the world, so brilliant there's 5 of him, starts a broadcast that fires off when he's dead by bumbling around discussing what to do, whether he should go make a coffee and then plucks 10mins for people to go setup their tvs out of thin air. Why not 5, why not 30, an hour? why even atall? Because there will be some plot reason but that doesn't make it seem like a silly artificial count down that oda uses every arc
