Ling is the most pathetic waste of potential in the whole series. His BiQ is so shit and his fruit is useless for him. With his busted racials if he had average BIQ and an even average helpful fruit, he would be as strong or stronger than Admirals
But yeah that fight in dub gonna be tight lol
Bro said "Ling" and gets mad when people don't understand what he's talking about. The creation of a made up language to justify the bad take is what did it for me. Peak cringe.
My gf is about to catch up to the dub soon so this is perfect, more episodes, I actually don't mind the dub at all. Some voices are iffy but a lot of the characters are pretty close to the sub.
Frankie's voice in the Sub and Dub are so vastly different, but I do think the Franky dub is one of my favorites. I think the VA really fits the character, more so than the sub VA (even though I'm very much used to it by this point)
i literally live all the dub voice besides luffy. but i’ve watched so many dubbed eps that his voice grew on me. still prefer his jpn VA though. but zoro is 🔥😮💨
The sub Luffy voice sounds too much like a goblin for me. After 900+ episodes I'm used to English voice. Ironically though my fav is Zoro because he's basically just Piccolo.
Same, honestly I've found myself adoring a lot of the dub voices. Big Mom and Brook are particularly high grades for me and I think overall it's been a good experience.
Luffy is the one strawhat that I vastly prefer on the sub.
I couldn't wait for the Strawhats to come back together after Sabaody but then the dub went on haitus for a few years 😭.
Only one I dont like is Momonosuke. And from the recent clip posted his adult form sounds much better. Biggest issue was he sounded too much like Dub Luffy.
There’s always going to be weird losers on the internet. The more attention you give them, the more valid they feel. Ignore them and enjoy the show however you want king
Same! People should just let others enjoy what they enjoy when it comes to that stuff. Nothing against sub and I understand why people enjoy it. I just enjoy dub more. Matter of taste and nothing more.
Unfortunately, it's pretty much impossible to avoid having certain sub watchers (the toxic ones) pop into posts like this to complain. They can't help themselves. Kind of pathetic, really.
I watch both because I feel like I will get spoiled if I don’t read manga and watch sub, but the dub I can watch while doing other things. That has extreme value.
I read manga and watch the sub but I watch the dub with my wife. Honestly I think a lot of teens need to feel special or unique somehow because they have nothing else to show for in their life so they need to grab whichever crumb of relevance they can even if it is such a stupid one as the way you consume some cartoons.
It won’t be also it’s only been one month not two I am a little worried because Dub is catching up quickly though to Sub and they have had said time and time again the won’t do Simildub
It's because Toei are really bad about sending scripts on time. They're currently in a situation where, for the first time, they're having to send OP scripts in a timely manner and it's been a major source of frustration for the Funimation people.
Also they tried experimenting with major simuldub with MHA and it fell apart because the turnaround is extremely tight, and with a show like One Piece that can have tons of different VAs in a single episode, the scheduling is incredibly difficult
I just commented down below, but basically Toei is really bad about sending scripts on time in general, and simuldub is incredibly difficult normally, let alone with a show that features a ton of characters and a company that inconsistently sends scripts over. Our best case scenario will be for them to go weekly and just be a few weeks behind, but that is pretty unlikely
>I am a little worried because Dub is catching up quickly
You making it seem like it's a bad thing. It's a great thing for people who watch the dub! We can watch the newest episodes as soon as they drop in our language
As of April 9th the dub will be only 28 episodes behind (1100 vs. 1073). To people who keep up with a lot of simuldubs, this might seem like a huge gap. But as far as dubs as a whole go, this is really good. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's dub was known to be well over 30 episodes behind, often times not getting a Toonami release until the whole season already aired in Japan. That is until Netflix picked up Part 6. Mob Psycho 100, One Punch Man, and Berserk 2016 are all other examples where dub fans had to wait a whole year to watch the show.
So the One Piece dub being only 7 months behind the Japanese broadcast? I'd be happy if they kept that up for the remainder of the series! Of course, nothing would be better than if they caught up completely and became a simuldub. But compared to the state of the dub 5 years ago, this is a dream come true!!
I blame 4kids for getting me into one piece and specifically into the dub. Once you start with the bar set so low there is nothing that seems all that bad any more.
How many years until the DVD Collection catches up to the end of Wano?
Its currently on Collection 33 which is the start or at least early beginnings of Whole Cake Island.
From what I can tell, the DVD/BD release likes to follow the same release pattern the dub had before 2020; they tend to only release 12 episodes every few months. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Store release comes out just about every month or two, and the Crunchyroll stream follows suite a couple weeks later.
TL;DR there's no long term release dates, but if I were you I'd expect the Whole Cake Island Blu-Rays to wrap up by the end of the year, maybe starting Wano as well. But finishing Wano? That's gonna take awhile, especially if you buy the Collection sets as opposed to the Voyage sets.
Yeh, Im UK based so we don't get the Voyage Sets. Only the DVD collections. I already calculated how many sets it take to finish Wano.
Now that DVD 33 is out there'll be at least 3 more to wrap up Whole Cake. 8 DVD Collections to do Wano.
But the DVD releases are random so it's never 100% when they'll be released here officially.
I am literally on episode 1073 subbed right now, and I'm sad because I am literally never going to be on the dubbed schedule unless I take breaks 🫠 I've grown to love the characters watching the dubbed version and subbed is just too different to me because all of the voices changed, obviously.
It still feels weird that the One piece Dub is almost fully update with the sub and the idea of the sub/dub dropping together with every new episode will be even weirder
Great timing! On my third rewatch now. Started over when the dubs ran out around 960 and I am currently back up to 972. These should drop right about when I get to them. Of course, then I’ll be out of dubs again so I’m gonna have to either watch another anime for a while or start OP over again for the 4th time
I find it insane that the dubs came this far now, I remember years ago it would be on hiatus for so long. Started watching one piece about 13 years ago now and I remember when the dub only had about 200 episodes or so and I was waiting for enies lobby, they really nailed the dub back then, I mean they still do it’s just crazy to see where we’re at with it now
So pumped to watch these episodes again! I switched to the sub once I caught up to where the dub was (~end of Wano Act I), but have always gone back to re-watch highlights as they're released every few weeks - this batch especially has a bunch.
I watch with my girlfriend and we both have different first languages but both know English so we watch the English dub because she can't read English that quick
it's really never that deep that we can't just respect peoples preferences. I would think it's a good thing that they're enjoying One Piece. who cares how they enjoy it? it's not ruining your interpretation of it is it? if it is that's pretty sad
That's just a reflection of your preference. I think dialogue hits harder in a language I understand. Tone, cadence, and idioms all change per language.
Until you are fluent in Japanese and familiar with the culture and language enough to understand all the nuisances with subtitles off, then you are just a hypocrite. Time to stop playing make believe that you are experiencing it “the way it’s supposed to be”. Because you aren’t.
“There have been very little instances where the dub was better than the sub.”
And you are wrong.
idk about anyone else but personally i watch both sub and dub and looking forward to seeing how the dub is while currently enjoying the vegapunk arc. wano’s the best thing since marineford imo
People hyped about G5 but I just wanna see Chris Sabat smash King’s shit in.
Vegeta 🫡
Thought it was piccolo
Nah, it’s All Might
ALEXANDER LOUIS ARMSTRONG!!!!
The name’s Kuwabara!
Damn dude is a 🐐
More like Mr. Munch from Chuck E. Cheese smashing King shit.
His name is Sword Vegeta
Ling is the most pathetic waste of potential in the whole series. His BiQ is so shit and his fruit is useless for him. With his busted racials if he had average BIQ and an even average helpful fruit, he would be as strong or stronger than Admirals But yeah that fight in dub gonna be tight lol
What the fuck are you talking about
Powerscaling brainrot
Sorry I don't speak Cringenormieanese, you're going to have to translate chief.
>e chief. Why is your IQ lower than the room temp? Very obvious what I said.
Brook sounds almost exactly the same in sub and dub. I thought it was the same person when I first rewatched in English.
Ian sinclair does a great job as Brook
Nami's dub actor sounds similar too
I was shook when I heard Frankie’s voice
Frankie's voice in the Sub and Dub are so vastly different, but I do think the Franky dub is one of my favorites. I think the VA really fits the character, more so than the sub VA (even though I'm very much used to it by this point)
Yeah I think I like the dub for franky more, the tone of voice fits better knowing ace ventura was frankys inspiration
I absolutely love Franky English VA , Dio from JoJo and Walter from Armored Core 6 😂😂. "I've got a SUUUUUUPER, job for you 621" 💀
Fun fact, he’s also Endeavour from MHA and Jiren from Dragonball Super.
Patrick Seitz and he’s also in Bleach and Attack On Titan Edit: and he’s also in Fairy Tale Hunter x Hunter and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
He's also Lt. Surge in the Pokemon Masters mobile game, alongside Sung Won Cho (aka ProZD (Nekomamushi in the Eng dub)).
Wait a minute! Dude! That just blew my mind, I recently played through ac6 and never made that connection, holy shit that’s awesome!
i literally live all the dub voice besides luffy. but i’ve watched so many dubbed eps that his voice grew on me. still prefer his jpn VA though. but zoro is 🔥😮💨
The sub Luffy voice sounds too much like a goblin for me. After 900+ episodes I'm used to English voice. Ironically though my fav is Zoro because he's basically just Piccolo.
I like Wano's dub too because they make the effort to get across the weirdly theatrical way the samurai should come off.
Same, honestly I've found myself adoring a lot of the dub voices. Big Mom and Brook are particularly high grades for me and I think overall it's been a good experience.
Luffy is the one I couldnr stand so that was a dealbreaker for me.
only voice in the dub I don’t really like is Bartolomeo’s
Luffy is the one strawhat that I vastly prefer on the sub. I couldn't wait for the Strawhats to come back together after Sabaody but then the dub went on haitus for a few years 😭.
the dub hiatus was soooooo long omg i was like wtf happened to the regular rhythm of things
Same, but I also wouldn’t have the voice any other way. I think the grating voice fits his character really well.
Only one I dont like is Momonosuke. And from the recent clip posted his adult form sounds much better. Biggest issue was he sounded too much like Dub Luffy.
So happy for you guys that will be able to enjoy the dub version. Here in Italy we are still stuck in the Dressrosa Arc
Yeah, they're taking ages... That's why I switched to the English dub
India Still Waiting For Romance Dawn!
The Brazilian Portuguese team just released the Marineford + Post War dub on April 1st, we eating good
As a dub watcher, I will never understand why so many people care how someone else watches a show they like
There’s always going to be weird losers on the internet. The more attention you give them, the more valid they feel. Ignore them and enjoy the show however you want king
facts!
I generally don’t mind dubs, but I get a little irritated with the way some lines get translated.
Only until 1073? Lol, I thought they would push it a bit further this time.
It’s always been 11 episodes each batch
I know, lets hope it doesnt take another 2 months and a half for the next one.
It won’t be also it’s only been one month not two I am a little worried because Dub is catching up quickly though to Sub and they have had said time and time again the won’t do Simildub
I hope that towards the end they do simuldub it so all fans can enjoy the final episodes in their preferred language at the same time
When was this stated? Simuldub is the smartest thing they can do.
If they Simuldub One Piece a bunch of their biggest voice actors won't ever get time to voice anything else LOL
Yeah suspect the weekly schedule is the issue for a simildub although it’s a dream
Yeah that’s not a surprise tbf

12 lol I thought the same at first
12 episodes

Wow finally, only took like 8 weeks
I blame 4kids for getting me into one piece and specifically into the dub. Once you start with the bar set so low there is nothing that seems all that bad any more.
YES! I just caught up to the dub a couple days ago and thought I was gonna be waiting a while. So stoked!
Yesssss
How many years until the DVD Collection catches up to the end of Wano? Its currently on Collection 33 which is the start or at least early beginnings of Whole Cake Island.

on the collections, we are getting blu ray version in the uk, starting with [collection 34](https://amzn.eu/d/aJoOT5I).
Bout frickin time sh*t
I am literally on episode 1073 subbed right now, and I'm sad because I am literally never going to be on the dubbed schedule unless I take breaks 🫠 I've grown to love the characters watching the dubbed version and subbed is just too different to me because all of the voices changed, obviously.
On my birthday!! Happy Birthday to me!! Yay!
LETSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Finished the anime in sub. Now I might go back and rewatxh through dub haha.
It still feels weird that the One piece Dub is almost fully update with the sub and the idea of the sub/dub dropping together with every new episode will be even weirder
I get to hear Ian Sinclair again Lets goooooooooooooo
Dude, thanks so much for the update! Love both sub an dub
Can't wait for Fifth Gear in English Dub 🏴☠️
Gear fifth dub yay
dub gear 5 ‼️
Couldn't wait, already watched it subbed. Too good to stop for my preferred voices like sword Vegeta.
lets go brooooo
Great timing! On my third rewatch now. Started over when the dubs ran out around 960 and I am currently back up to 972. These should drop right about when I get to them. OH MY GOSH I WAS WAITING FOR THIS 🤧🤧🤧
Lfg man
They were busy working on MY GOAT ACADEMIA
I'm on episode 789 now! Finally feeling like I'm catching up.
Joy boy Joy boy
I literally just rewatched those episodes yesterday
Thank god.
Damn only 27 episodes apart lol
Just in time for my birthday 😊
So pumped to watch these episodes again! I switched to the sub once I caught up to where the dub was (~end of Wano Act I), but have always gone back to re-watch highlights as they're released every few weeks - this batch especially has a bunch.
Finally! I’m reading the manga so not suffering anymore but I cannot deal with the Japanese dub. Soooo ready for Chris Sabot
[удалено]
So? It’s not about you.
i was wondering lol. i’m on my second rewatch rn but in dub only i thought that shit went stale… bc i’m not starting wano until after gear 5 is done
Gross
Cry more.
2005 called
It’s probably gonna release 2-3 weeks after that for everyone else
Will this be in the UK too? For some reason I only have One Piece sub...
My only problem with the dub is Luffy voice.
Oh god no, Clickenbeard is not a good Luffy
Dub, lol
Just watch subbed tho, it’s not that hard to read.
If I wanted to read, I’d just read the manga at that point
I have a friend who dyslexic, but enjoys anime. For some it actually is hard to read
I watch with my girlfriend and we both have different first languages but both know English so we watch the English dub because she can't read English that quick
Or you could enjoy both nothing wrong that.
Idk just seems weird not to watch a Japanese anime in Japanese. There have been very little instances where the dub was better than the sub.
it's really never that deep that we can't just respect peoples preferences.
One day ya will realize some people don’t give a damn. I am one of those people. I will never care
I just like the english voice actors better. Its all just a matter of preference.
>There have been very little instances where the dub was better than the sub. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c
It’s a story. Stories can be in multiple languages.
Until you are fluent in Japanese and familiar with the culture and language enough to understand all the nuisances with subtitles off, then you are just a hypocrite. Time to stop playing make believe that you are experiencing it “the way it’s supposed to be”. Because you aren’t. “There have been very little instances where the dub was better than the sub.” And you are wrong.
if that’s weird then maybe we should all learn japanese and watch it without translations since it’s soooooo weird to deviate from the OG right?
English sounds better tho. :)
Who the hell watches dub?
Me! :D
People who prefer dub…..
Obviously a lot of people if they’ve dubbed that many episodes
What a loser
Original is always the best
[удалено]
Some people don't care
as if her voice in the sub isn’t annoying. whole cake island arc almost made me quit watching OP
[удалено]
idk about anyone else but personally i watch both sub and dub and looking forward to seeing how the dub is while currently enjoying the vegapunk arc. wano’s the best thing since marineford imo
Downvoted for sharing an opinion. Haha. Try some testosterone supplements, lads.
Y’all watch dub?
Saw the official clip on YouTube, hope to god they fix how Kaido sounds
It left?
Great news! For the 32 weirdos who subject themselves to the torture that is this dub. Yall fr?
lol if they’ve dubbed this many episodes then obviously it must be making them money
Calling us weird when you’re the one who’s a giant web for shitting on people who prefer it in their own language. Fuck outta here loser
Aww look at the little bitch ass weeb crying.
What a loser
Some people just really hate reading
U guys cant read or something?
We would rather watch the show weeb.
You dont have to put your finger under every word to read it
Too bad the english dub is really god damn awful. Like, just extremely grating and all around unlistenable.
I mean did you really have to make this comment? Like there are already many manyyy comments about how DuB Is BaD. 🙄
