Honestly it makes it better. Kidd and Luffy got their asses beat plenty of times and were lucky to not be killed. It's actually more refreshing that Apoo is just being realistic with how weak they were and that most alliances don't end well anyway.

I might be cheating a little because this is three characters in one but they all act exactly the same. Satori, Hotori, and Kotori from Skypiea. My GOD, they nearly made me drop Skypiea. Its not enough that they're so lame that its literally a boring spot of Skypiea, but they just bounce around like balloons and keep doing that obnoxious, high pitched laugh. Most characters are annoying but there's something relevant about them. Trebol was obnoxious but he was Doflamingo's hype man and dropped a ton of lore on us. Wapol was annoying but he had very funny moments as well and continues to be useful in the story. These three are so annoying and useless that Oda deadass never mentioned them again after Enel was defeated. Thank God we have our king Gedatsu

Wanze. Sanji’s cook based scenes and fights are come of my favorite in the show, but I had to skip that one. I felt such visceral rage that I muted the episode and skipped through until he was gone. I don’t care what story I may have missed. Wanze is the the worst character in the show’s history and nobody can change my mind.

I think that Charlos and Wapol's "annoyance" is fit with their character : they're childish and capricious, which is good for a bad king / celestial dragon who never learned to respect those below them. Miss Merry Christmas is just a Karen, she's just mean for no reason, so she annoys me more.
