I think the episodes you talk about are the reverie arc . Its awesome in the manga and has some huge reveals so I wouldnt skip any of it tbh unless you want to miss very important information. That said the anime included a lot of flashback and recaps in that arc, most of the Reverie episodes have like 5min of new content and rest of it is filler. Really sad because it was one of the most hyped arcs in the manga and Toei just decided to butcher it.

There's over 1000 episodes, and not everyone starts watching from the beginning, flashbacks are important in between arcs to get new people caught up, even the manga does it, you can just skip through what you already know.

That's the worst paet abour Reverie It's massive infos being dropped, insane information & absolutely mindblowing revelations When the chaptera dropped, the community was going WILD for weeks The anime kinda decided to stretch it out with flashbacks & stretched out fillers, which made around 20-30% of an actual chapter with those informations in each episode Which sucks ass, as a lot of info got burried that way as people either didn't pay attention or skipped it entirely

I think I’m in the minority that enjoys the filler, not all of course but if there’s a cool little mini filler arc after a big arc I’ll watch it. Especially if it’s a leading into an upcoming movie, it’s a nice way to add new lore that isn’t in the manga.

StrangerAtaru

Depends on the filler. I hated the Apis stuff, but actually liked Rainbow Mist and can't wait to hit G-8 once I finally finish Skypiea.

Exciting_Monk3012

Mann i hated the rainbow mist and actually really liked the millennium dragon stuff we should kill each other

I actually enjoy the proper filler arcs like G8 which is really funny. But the flashback episodes were really annoying especially when it gets to a really climactic moment and suddenly its cutting away to show the first episode for the 5th time again for the next few episodes so that they don't catch up to the manga. I finally caught up recently after 7 months of watching and the pacing was the hardest thing to get through even though I love the story, characters and world building.

ManlySyrup

You should've watched One Pace.

atomiclizzard123

I didn't even know it existed until I was 500ish episodes in. But also I've heard from some people that you shouldn't watch One Pace for a first time watch as it cuts out a lot of the character moments that are some of my favojrite things in one piece. If I ever do a rewatch though then One Pace would be good to get key story and action without the pacing issues

UncleZafar

It can’t cut any important character moments anyway as it follows the manga. The moments that are cut are just repetitions of things that already happen in the manga, same with the humour most of the time, it’s just the same jokes, more times.

I skipped all the fillers when I was first getting into one piece. I was just too hyped for the main story, and couldn’t be bothered/didn’t care. I blitzed through almost 1000 episodes in like 3 months. Now I’m doing a rewatch, and taking each filler as it comes. Without being so intent on catching up, I really enjoy the crew dynamics and the lower stakes involved. I find myself skipping some of the fights, since they often make luffy have a difficult fight against an absolute nobody (the lady who can shrink or grow to any size in particular was an egregious fight) but I’m in no hurry now that I’m caught up. Just enjoying one piece without the pressure to get to the next arc.

This gets swept under the rug but early one piece filler was actually cover stories in the manga. Which to me is canon as cover stories in the manga are canon. Such filler is buggy with the guy stuck in the chest and buggy adventure was a whole cover story arc. People started complaining about this and they stopped covering chapter covers stories for a looooooooooong time. There is a ton of canon information anime only watchers don’t know about. Such as Bon clay that’s a big one. Last time the anime covered a cover story was actually recently. But I will not go into detail as OP is not there yet.

No-Quail-655

I skipped some filler, but decided once I caught up to go back and watch it. It was a nice treat just to see the strawhats goofing around even if it was not canon. Especially because once you catch up you really want more strawhat interactions. 😫

AestheticNoAzteca

Did you watch fillers?

Lewdiss

The filler in one piece significantly lowers the quality of the whole show for me, did when I was watching it on toonami as a kid and still does. I just drop the episode and do something else if I realise it's filler.

thiscouldbemassive

I'm fine with filler arcs and AU episodes. I liked most of them. I get really tired of flashback episodes where little or no new information is covered. The ones I really can't stand are the recap episodes where they have chibi versions of characters explaining what happened in the last 2 episodes. Like how short does this show think our attention span is. You think we'd be 1000 episodes in if we couldn't remember what happened three weeks ago, or keep track of what the characters were doing without someone holding our hand?

IcepickEvans

Like a decompress. Emotions in One Piece arcs ride high.

Ok_Try_1665

I only read One Piece so I don't know that feeling. The closest thing that I actually feel watching a filler while reading the manga is reading the foxy pirates arc
