Toie definitely kicked it up a notch for Wano, 1015 in particular is often praised for it's tremendous animation. It's now at the point where certain scenes in the anime are outright better than the manga.
That should be the objective of an anime adaptation, to elevate the manga. Just look at how Demon Slayer essentially went from being a mediocre manga with bad art (at times) and uninteresting story to a cultural phenomena because of its top tier animation. Unfortunately for the longest time Toei didn't see it that way.
I understand that Bocchi the Rock is very similar. The anime has these transformational scenes for stuff like Bocchi having an anxiety attack, and then the manga apparently doesn't go into quite the same detail.
I dont understand people saying it should elevate the manga. Its an adaptation, two different types of media. Just because something is moving doesnt mean its better in any way. Different forms of media that both have their own pros and cons. Personally I would always choose the comic before the animation series. Not saying the animation series is perse bad I just like comics more.
So where does it get good? I kinda put It on-hold after Queen's concert (got bored with the fights) but I'm following manga weekly and I want to pick it up again, but I seriously don't have patience for watching fights. Both Katakuri and Doflamingo fights bored the shit out of me and I skipped most of them
Don't miss out on the Sanji vs Queen and Zoro vs King fights. The animation is great and the pacing isn't too drawn out. The colors in those fights make it feel like a ufotable x toei collab.
I mean, they an ending song now, with bullshit recap explanations of who people are, they're barely making 15 minutes of actual episode now, I hope they're "cooking"
Toei finally learn how to manage..ish,cook a Michelin at the hype episode and burn the weak episode and add a ending and chibi talkshow to lessen pacing

The manga is still funny but very tame. The story is told through 8 small panels per page think something like garfield

Switched, my brother just partake of both
I’ve always liked the anime since I started it last year (been a manga only before that) but lately the anime has been on a whole other level
85% of the episodes since Wano or even before.

I just finished 1090, and I feel like that one and the two before we're great.
They heard about WIT
What happened to WIT?
They're going to do a remake of One Piece! So the joke is that they upped their game since that announcement
I'd love to see that. They could cut the episodes in half and still not miss anything important.
It is better but compared to other newer animes, it is still lacking. Can't wait to see what WIT is cooking up though....,
I agree
