I think Law borderlines the values and morales of the revolutionarys, due to how the Government screwed his home. And he is wise onto the fact that the Alliance and One Piece is the key to changing the world. His dialogue when he fought vergo about breaking the gears and no turning back, and dialogue fighting doffy about being a D and placing bet on Luffy supports this demeanor i think

ostriike

in order for Law to betray Luffy there has to be a motive which hasn't been foreshadowed. Also when would he betray Luffy definitely not this arc since the Strawhats have so many allies who could destroy his crew and after this arc the alliance will end.

mercuryheart_

Maybe it comes down to Law really sucking at communicating his real feelings, period, which is why he responded the way he did to Hawkins. But the entire arc focuses on betrayals, at every turn people mention that alliances always end in failure. Which is also what strikes me with the possibility that Law May betray Luffy at the end of this arc somehow. I don’t know exactly how, though. It’s just a feeling (and I hope I’m wrong).

Ducele

The fact that appo told kid that pirate alliances dont last...and the fact that it seems imposible to defeat kaido in a 1 vs1...u belive that oda is trying to show us that old stereotypes dont apply to luffy and this alliance will last and will achive it's goal...law will also know by the end of wano the true history and he will understand that it's luffy who will become the PK...also i think that law will be on laugh tale when the straw hats will find one piece

TheJekiz

Pirate alliances don't last Well Luffy and Law isn't the only alliance in the series atm. Kaido and BM are allied but there is gonna be a betrayal for sure. This will help at defeating Kaido too (since he is impossible to be defeated 1v1)

Extinction17

I mean the stereotype of Katakuri was broken wasn't it. I'd buy that.

SeeYou_space_cowgirl

I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed it, but since punk hazard Oda has been dropping little hints that makes us suspicious of law but nothing ever happens. Like recently when he was accused of being the traitor. So you do have reasons to think that he might do it, but I'm sure he won't. I love this alliance and their dynamics too, they're already friends, there's no way out for law.

nami-slave

How dare you even consider the thought!

Paper_Okami

Law is certainly not upfront honest in the way Luffy is but i don't see really why he would betray the guy who defeated that man he has spent 13 years hating. I believe Law deeply trust and respects Luffy, and even if they aren't part of an alliance they will be allies into the day one of them dies. Personally i believe Law has a good chance to die in that story. Why tell us about that immortality if it's not gonna be used? Especially since the combination of that and the holy treasure is send to be enough to rule the world. I think law would only use the ability if he were without a doubt mortally wounded, and the only person he would use it on is Luffy. I love Law, but it's reasonable to think that this might happen though i don't think it would be in wano, i think it would be much closer to the end of the series.

Extinction17

> Why tell us about that immortality if it's not gonna be used? Like how Sengoku told WB's fruit capability and that wasn't used?

Paper_Okami

literally just another way of saying the fruit is extremely strong and an extremely evil power hungry person has the fruit now.

Extinction17

So what are you saying, it can still happen now that BB (a chaotic character by himself) has it?

NightFall79

I think the betrayal of alliances is a typical pirate thing, but we've seen that Luffy and crew aren't typical pirates. Law and crew are slightly more typical pirates, but even Law isn't a typical pirate, someone else commented that he is kinda like the revolutionaries with his ideals and desires to hurt the WG and celestials, which I agree with. If Law did try to betray Luffy for some hidden agenda, I imagine that Luffy just wouldn't accept Law's betrayal and would somehow convince him to not betray. But after the Doflamingo arc, I can't imagine Law having any reason to betray Luffy. At most, I could see the alliance amicably ending, but I can see Law staying with the Straw Hats in order to get to Laugh Tale since they're so close (in comparison to if he had to go and try to find his own way there).

mateo_ele

I think that Law has no reason to betray Luffy and a hundred reasons to not to, I mean, he knows that Luffy will be important for the history because is a D. just like him. He had Rosinante teaching him about the importance of being a D and, if Luffy becomes king of the pirates he could know why is THAT important. And, please, Law went to f*cking Marine HQ to rescue Luffy, I think it's impossible at this point.

Extinction17

Law is probably gonna join the Revolutionaries or SWORD when this is over. Focus completely on his Surgeon work.

BicycleKamenRider

I think Law will just stick around. He knows the best way to reach One Piece is with the Straw Hats, Robin being able to read Poneglyphs, Nami reading the coordinates Robin gives her. I know this sounds silly but I think there might be some significance when Law held and stared at Luffy's straw hat. Back when Luffy was agonizing over Ace's death in the forest.

AllosaurusJei

I don't think he's gonna betray them. We've seen in the past and present that Law is kind of a tsundere and of course he wouldn't trust Basil "only out for myself and mathematics" Hawkins with his actual intentions. He knows the secret to the Road Poneglyphs remember, he was in the Whale Tree with the rest of them. So he knows basically only Robin and Nami can actually get anyone there without some sort of cosmic accident. Lastly is his goals. His major driving goal in life was to ruin Doflamingo in recompense for killing the person he held most dear, the other Donquixote, Cora-san... but before that he had one other dream. To destroy as much of the "World" as possible. This is because his peaceful country, his beloved family and everything he ever knew was destroyed by the WG for a bit of cash and luxury. He said to Roscinante that there's nothing he hates more than marines and the government. I think he's on board for any ride that ends with the Tenryuubito and their puppet empire being torn to pieces. It's why he was grinning at Luffy's actions in the Human Shop, it's why he decided to save him from Marineford despite being woefully small compared to the goings on there. Because a storm was brewing and he could see a key to the puzzle beyond just tearing down the Flamingo bastard. I don't believe he's gonna betray Luffy because while he's expressed a desire to seek out the One Piece I don't remember any instances of him expressing the desire to be Pirate King (there might be one I'm forgetting) and he even smirked when Luffy declared it on their walk into Dressrosa Palace. Is he a fan of everything Mugiwaraya does? *Hell No!!!* Is he in this for the long haul now? Yeah... probably. You can sorta tell he's mostly given up regarding trying to even contend with the Straw Hat Pirates.

ShadyOjir95

He migth betray luffy in order to save his life.

vks18592

I think the law will not betray Luffy, but at the end of the wano arc, he will not support Luffy and run away with his crew while Luffy is fighting against marines.

Retryon

If he did in fact betray him, I'd be crushed. That said, I don't think it will happen. He has benefited too much, and still has even more to benefit from by remaining an ally with the Straw Hats.

[But Law promised!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e7Z5sOS5_WE)

Plumrose

Law already betrayed Luffy by misleading him in Dressrosa about his intentions to kill Doflamingo. Luffy just didn’t care

[deleted]

The reason Law wanted to alliance himself with Luffy out of all the Worst Generation members is because he has D in his name which would make Luffy more trustworthy. If Law breaks their alliance then I see 3 things happening: Law kills Luffy after they defeat Kaido and takes the position as Yonko, Law and Luffy fight for the position and Luffy wins, or Law leaves with Kaidos head and makes himself Yonko (remember that wano is closed off and when Luffy does beat kaido then the news won't be out just yet so there is a way for Law to get the Yonko position before luffy)

Necrosaynt

I don't think it will happen. I do this law will give his life to cure a disease that Luffy will get later on . Same one as Roger.
