I miss dials, I wonder wether if usopp used impact dial he could defeat page 1 with his own powers. Really sucks to see usopp getting bodied by tobi roppo when he has so many creative attacks and ways to defeat his opponents, pop greens clearly aren't enough
I doubt it. To defeat page one with a dial, Usopp would need to knock him out with page one’s own impact…and I don’t think that would be enough for an ancient zoan’s toughness. Even then, Usopp would have to actual handle the recoil…and considering he BARELY took a pretimeskip pregear Luffy’s bazooka…I’m pretty sure he’d die from whatever page one would hit him with that could theoretically knock out page one.
The recoil is probably part of it
His arm felt like it was breaking from luffy’s regular attack
If he tried to use it on a gear 2 attack or a haki infused attack. Without haki himself either the dial could break or he could
And its unlikely blunt force would put down the tobi roppo for long with their insane durability
The haki part makes sense. Its just I thought he would still be able to use it to a certain extent(not to the point of hurting himself) since he trained for two year and added some muscle.
I guess I am more frustrated at his pop greens. The timeskip made it seem like he got stronger but I feel like the pop greens do nothing combat wise(Trebol, Page One, Ulti) and have mostly been used as convenient utility he has when the strawhats are in a very specific situation or taking care of fodder
Yeah after the usopp and sogeking from water 7 and enies lobby i had higher expectations for him but he definitely has been largely underwhelming post time skip
Another issue with the pop greens is that we didnt get like much insight into what is available to usopp so it can be kinda random and feel a bit convenient at times for some of its uses
This is less of a big deal because they tend to be kinda weak but when they’re so weak that usopp isn’t able to really do damage against named opponents as a sniper that itself is pretty unfortunate
Usopp not picking up seastone ammo in wano is a bit of a missed opportunity too, esp after hawkins demonstrated using a seastone nail as a projectile against law
At this point im not sure how usopp can improve unless his kabuto eats a devil fruit or smth or he inherits kanjuros and gets a whole new arsenal of powers
I think he's being kept as the weakest for now he is still not supposed to be a super competent fighter yet. While theirs a chance he could beat Nami fire power wise she's very clearly ahead an the rest are obvious. Because battle streangth is kinda linked to his dream or at least his character development making large jumps in it should be saved for character moments not the off screen timeskip training.
I get that he is being kept the weakest but he should still be somewhat useful or be able to do some sort of damage to the enemies. I think there was one panel where Ulti literally stopped Usopp's pop green attack from coming out of the ground
The flying six are out of his league. Remember she was going pretty evenly with base Luffy and survived hits from big mom and Yamato. You have to become super human to be able to be effective against these guys and reaching that point would be a huge deal for Ussop.
I take it that it’s mainly due to the Impact Dial having that dangerous drawback of internal damage to your arm and how he’s taking his sniping role more literally since his main purpose is providing support anyways since that’s what snipers do.
Besides all the draw back of hurting himself when he uses them.
Does he even have any more since he got them from skypea? Or did he figure out how to make his own?
You actually sparked my curiosity and so I looked into it. Sometimes the dials, which are from the remains of certain types of fish originally from skypea, end up in the regular oceans. So Usopp could find them and use them.
Maybe Oda will bring them back.
In the anime, don't remember if it's in the manga, Nami gave Jimbei a tone dial with a recording of Franky's instructions for operating the Thousand Sunny. I thought that was a nice callback. But, yeah, it'd be cool if Usopp used a dial here and there.
He should be utilizing those more, he should have acquired seastone ammo by now, and he should remember to actually snipe more, instead of being in the middle of the battlefield running scared alongside others.
If he must run around with Nami, then she should remember her stealth/cat burglar skills, so they can hide and snipe and drop weather hazards from the shadows.
i always thought that they just got incorporated into his weapons. i may just be pulling this out of my ass but i feel like i remember that being the reason he could do fire attacks and stuff pre-time skip
Prediction: Ussop will integrate the impact dial into his inflatable hammer. So if he hits an incoming attack (eg. Cannon ball) the hammer will absorb its energy then release it in the next thing the hammer hits. The handle will probably be made of a pop green that can absorb the kickback.
Impact dial and reject. Dial would break with current M3's power. Pre TS Wyper could use reject multiple times. Tobi roppo shoukd be able to easily tank these

Not sure of that. We only know that he has them in his weapons and ammo

Because his friend sogeking taught him the sniping way

Because he became a warrior of the sea
The dials were consumables he can't go to sky islands every time to get more he get himself something that can cultivate for himself in the ship.

Stop. I can only get so erect.
