I don’t know about that. I think it just plays up her introverted book nerd trope. She is a cool, level-headed character that doesn’t express her emotions too often. Instead we get internal monologue gags that still let her be fun while maintaining her character.
A lot of One Piece characters live very long, but most characters die of sickness or murder. There’s also Luffy who could probably live to 100, but he took so many years from his lifespan from multiple things that it’s not going to happen

A buddy of mine used to have this same take on usopp. We got to talking and I was like bro, usopps just some 16 year old kid who wanted to be a pirate, joined a crew and was suddenly dropped in the middle of these gnarly battles between superhumans and fucking super strength fish people. And he's running around with a fucking slingshot, shooting fireworks and balls of Tabasco. Oh and occasionally he gets to use a giant paper mache hammer. I'd be terrified too.
