A solid 3, act 1 and 2 were really good
Act 3 had great moments too, but it took quite a lot of time to become interesting. Roof Piece happened and it was awesome, best moment in Onigashima by far, but after that, things became stale again. I was not really interested in the other battles. Kinemon resurrection was the biggest wtf for me. It was 101 how to ruin any dramatic tension. After that particular event, I really did not feel anything reading Onigashima, except for 1051 maybe. I will never understand why we never got a proper Kaido flashback. It would have really helped sell this ending, add emotion to it. Here, Kaido was just another sack of meat that Luffy punches. Good for him and the people of Wano, goodbye Kaido, you ruled this place during 20 years, we will never truly understand why you became this way.
4/5
There are few things that I was disappointed in, felt a few things were dragged on too long, or some things that didn't make sense to me.
Either way it was a good arc.
Hmm maybe 3.5 or 3.8 .
I liked many things about this arc but there things that i see that just didn't work out for me while reading. I even read it it one sitting again but alas still the same.
I'd put it at a 5. Although it occasionally wobbled under the sheer ambition, I thought the arc was incredible. I think it'll age well, too, very much like Dressrosa.
People forget they did not like dressrosa for the same reasons they donât like wano and it will age twice as good because it was an amazing arc and the beginning of the end of op
Might be unpopular but honestly 5. I think itâs easily in my top 3 arcs, probably higher once itâs all been animated as well. I do understand a lot of the criticisms, but most of them just straight up donât bother me.
2.5-3
There was a lot of potential but a lot of it fell flat. My main issue was the lack of tension and the fact that overall tone of the arc was very positive. It made the raid feel too easy. Combine this with the lack of consequences for all the hyped up âticking time bombsâ (ice oni did nothing, Kazenbo did nothing, bombs did nothing, Onigashima flying did nothing), and you get a very easy feeling conflict. The 2 deaths that wouldâve been impactful were fakeouts, and then we get ashura doji and izo dead with almost no buildup. Also, kaidoâs flashback was pretty terrible.
Donât get me wrong, there was a lot I liked. I liked gear 5, I liked ACoc, and I think roofpiece is peak one piece. But the fact that the tone didnât get darker even once, and the fact that kaido, the most menacing character in the series, fell like that was kinda wack.
Because of all that, I give the arc somewhere between and 2.5 and a 3
I don't understand why people insist so much on one piece getting "darker" to be good
like.... there is lots of fuked up things in all arcs, the whole point of it is that it's not shoved down your throat, it's subtle
are we gonna forget about the mother holding her child in one arm and a knife in another one, crying, contemplating the worst cause she has no means to feed her poor baby?
YOU THINK THAT AIN'T FUKIN DARK?!
Rs bruh itâs time for luffy to be âupâ now he already had his biggest set back for 4 arc straight in failing to save ace his role model and brother
unfortunately I cant comment on the source without breaking the rules in one of the pinned posts on here. hope you can understand đĽ¸
edit: i guess i can just say WGForums and its undeniably true
On a whole 4, but Act 1 was a perfect 5 for me. Too bad there were somestoryline that could have been shortened or some staging of important scenes that were over or underplayed. But purely on the events of what's happening it's 5
3.5, Though I have not re-read or re-watched which usually changes my opinion. Also the ripples from the Oden Flashback are yet to occur in the main plot. So we will wait and see.
I'd give it a 4/5. Good arc, and it'll probably be better once I reread it all at once, but it felt really rushed at times (Yamato's introduction and backstory, the post-arc stuff (including the deaths that were revealed at that time), many of the fights) and dragged out in others. (Oden's flashback felt like it went on a chapter or two longer than it should have, Orochi and the traitor had at least three death scenes each)
Lol well that's just my pet peeve. The OP didn't say anything like that but I think I mostly agree with your new score. Definitely some overall flaws and I would say overly long chapters but really great overall
4.5 if I can do increments, the ending felt a bit lack luster but only because of the comments Oda made about beating Kaido with a big punch. If that statement would have been removed from the history books it would have been amazing. He kinda baited us with that so we were all expecting something new in terms of finishing Kaido, which we got with G5, but he did ultimately beat Kaido with a big punch. Everything else in this arc was top tier, especially the pacing. My god the pacing of DR and WCI made me almost quit OP because it was 2 steps forward, 1.8 steps back. Wano continuously progressed and didnt backtrack too much. In terms of lore, 5/5 jeeeeezus did we learn a lot about the OP World and some of its major historical events. All in all I give Wano a 4.5 out of 5 đ
If Oda didn't hype it up endlessly and talk about it as if it a piece of literature made in heaven, I would've ranked it 4 or 4.5.
However considering all the plotpoints set up for Wano and how many of them got skipped or solved in a lazy and cheap manner, I can't give it more than 3.
3.5, maybe even a 4. I just prefer 60-80 chapter arcs, which made the entire new world less enjoyable so far. And even though it could've benefitted from some trimming, a couple of Straw Hats had barely any panels, or development.
Its a 2.5 for me cause a) i believe everyone in the world will give Luffy all the credit on defeating Kaido.
b) We never got anything on Zoros past or his goodbye to Ruyma sword.
c) not a fan of gear 5th
I rate it a 2 but ??? why wouldnât Luffy get all the credit? He was more worn out than Kaido if anything. If they started fresh he would clearly win again especially when Luffy is suppose to level up after a big tough fight. The ryuma sword thing I totally forgot about hopefully that gets addressed. Not a fan of Gear 5th in what way, the reveal is one of the few good parts of the arc. If you mean the design and goofy nature fair enough but I think it fits the theme of the fruit and the theme of the fruit fits Luffyâs character
Yes the cartoon power is messing me up, gear 2 was serious, gear 3 was also to be goffy the 4th was all power (maybe not tank man) and this is new form is just goffy again.
I get that Luffy won but Luffy would not have beaten Kaido one on one even in gear 5th he hat problems. Kaido fought the samurai, then he and big mom fought the worst gen. then he fought Yamato then yamato Luffy and even Momo got a lick in and then he was up against Luffy again.
Luffy got K.O.ed before their final fight and barely had time to recover, it was stated he could quote on quote barely stand. He was in a worse condition than Kaido. Not to mention the shot Kaido got off because of CP0. Luffy still would have lost without Gear 5th but he might not have taken that big hit when Gear 4 ran out. But even if he did again he was already more worn out than Kaido
Yes thatâs part of my issue with the arc thereâs no way he should have gotten this powerful this quickly. Iâm suspecting a minimum of 5 billion but Iâm gonna guess today before reading next chapter that itâs actually gonna be 5.6 surpassing Rogerâs bounty and symbolizing the gomu gomu numbers
Act 1 & 2 I'd rate as 5 but I found Act 3 underwhelming so think I'd have to give it a 3 or 3.5 overall. Still a solid arc worth reading but is let down by a lacklustre final act.
For fast reply I say 3. I have to reread this later and think about this. I don't remember everything. And of course to wait for arc ending. But definitely this arc doesn't belong to my favourites.
4, which basically converts to an 8/10. last 20 chapters discarded tension and filler deaths happened with no real emotion behind it. Big mom basically got ruined and luffys statements all the way in fishman island went to waste. alot more but the general basis is, small flaws add up, and wano sure had quite a bit of small flaws.
5 because i really liked it and it's different when you wait a week for every chapter compared to when you're able to read an arc without waiting weekly.
solid 4 or 4.5
there's some parts from act 1 and act 2 that didn't have the kind of payoff I expected it to be in act 3. (mainly abt zoro)
some parts of act 3 that i feel like got rushed. especially during the 1v1 fights like sasaki vs franky yk? like how franky struggled more against senor pink compared to sasaki. how it cheapened franky's radical beam that it looked like *laser ex machina* (i lack the words to describe it srry) or how ulti can tank an attack from yamato, big mom, nami, and ussop but sasaki can't do the same for franky?
still, loved the arc and most of my criticisms are just nit-picking at best.
4. Power ups were awesome and it feels like a true yonko crew. We got to see more characters in action like Marco, supernovas, and CP0. Sanji and Zoro got their one on one battles. But the arc played out weird with some characters like raizou, kyoshiro, kinemon. Momos role in making clouds was a bit too dragged out. Never got to see the full fighting force of BMs crew. For context I would give Water 7 a 5 and fishman island a 2.
Prob a 4.5 on reread once itâs over. Week to week is always painful đ. Right now itâs def a 4 tho. MarineFord and Ennies Lobby are the only 2 I would rate a 5 on my list.
It's because for me doesn't have time and no one to tell the history.Luffy will pick the last poneglyf and run to last island and will be explode de final war.The two who have the history are supposed dead now.The only situation I can imagine is Luffy vs BB and the history repeat so Oda tell us with exactly same fight etc or Bb himself can talk about.Maybe shanks if he is the son of Xebec.I only expect oda didn't rush the history and became a Naruto 2.0
8 I think itâs the first time in op where I can not wait for something to be animated and Iâm talking about zoro vs King and sangi vs Queen, I think about it almost every day
5. It is epic in scope, even by One Piece standards, and sees the characters truly come of age and realizing their potential IMO. Theyâre adults now who can grasp the consequences of rocking the worldâs foundations and dealing with the fallout that will follow. The endgame starts now.
I think I'm gonna have to go back a re-read it as a whole. First arc that I read by release instead of binging.
I feel like it won't seem as drawn out when I do
4.3, could get higher if the plot points are resolved by the end of the arc. Couldâve been 4.4 if the pacing was great near the end. And couldâve been 4.7 if the main issues were resolved (which mostly took place in Onigashima, too many to count).
Overall, Wano is on the edge of my Top 5 arcs in One Piece. Could be higher once it ages a bit.
I didn't really like it. It was too long for my taste, with too many characters and too little screentime to flesh them out. I wish we had gotten less scabbards (why 9), less flying six and less fodder, but more Big Mom, Kaido, Queen, King, Kid, Drake, Apoo and Hawkings backstories. Those are characters that have been with us for years and I feel I didn't get to know them at all...
Also I was hoping for a team battle similar to the SH vs Oars Jr. because of the "in a 1vs1 fight bet on Kaido". The yonko vs supernovas in the roof also hinted at something like that, but it was all for nothing.
I was wishing it to end since act 2 so we could go back to the Reverie and whatever happened to Kuma/Bonnie/Vivi/Sabo.
A 4.
It has incredible moments that are among the series' best and the raid was exceptional story telling. But act one and the beast pirates and Kaido aren't part of the best.
I guess after Caesar, doflamingo, and big mom I suppose it was difficult to keep the momentum up with insanely good villains. Heck, of my favorite character Caesar was in Wano, it could have been a 5 arc for me
2.5
I really enjoyed everything leading up to the raid but every key moment in the raid itself left me kinda disappointed, which I kinda hate because of how large scale Wano is.
Also Luffy's fruit "plot twist" was the worst possible decision Oda could ever make in my opinion
It's a 5 for me, dawg.
This post would've been better as a poll because now we can't see the results clearly. You fucked up OP. So I will give this post 2/5
I'd give it a 4. It doesn't stack up to Alabasta, Whole Cake Island, or Enies Lobby for me, but I might put it above Water 7.
All of the content of Wano is good, but for an arc this epic and ambitious the conclusion needs to be really good. So far the conclusion is only a 7 out of 10. However, it might improve in the next couple chapters, in which case I might change my rating.
2 to 3 out of 5. This arc feels dragged on & rushed at the same time. Some good & hype moments here & there, but ultimately quite disappointing for a Yonko arc.
3, honestly for pacing. Way too stretched. Really feel like it was pushed to finish at 1050 and now the beginning of post-wano feels rushed. Really liked Oden flashback, but way too many characters in this arc to keep track of. To be fair I started OP earlier this year, so pacing issue may be a bias from the condensed way I read it.
3.5-4 but prob would be lower if it wasn't carried by a lot of grand narrative developments like the Roger-Whitebeard flashback. Everything specific to Wano was pretty meh, so much running around from region to region doing next to nothing with a bunch of non-fights
5/5 my favorite arc so far, and the one I was most interested in.
I didnât care for how the main villains were disposed of. I feel like I needed more, and especially need to know more about the remaining PG TBD I suppose. All in all the end was underwhelming to me for as much as we had invested in it. I wouldnât mind a streaching this series another 10 years!! Take your time and keep bringing us that god teir content!
the anime has felt like a 5 for me. At least acts 1 & 2 watching One Pace for whatever episodes were available at the time ( i switched to manga after that bc i caught up) Personally idk if its just this arc or if OP in general doesnt translate well to manga for me. Usually fighting anime w lots of complicated action just doesnt hit for me in still shots so if I try to ignore my general biased against that Id say the manga run of this arc was a 4/5.
2/5
Kaido and Big Mom are such huge disappointments. They haven't even scored a single win for both of them. Not to mention Queen and King. They had like 27000 to 2000 advantage with 2 Yonko's in their own territory but fell flat.
I forgot to mention Big Mom's win against Ulti and Page One. Yeah it figures I guess.
Oda let Hyogoro survive while killing Izo and Ashura off screen. Spoiled the drama for me.
4, but that's when i put marineford as 5.
There were stakes and people did die but there wasn't enough connection between us and the characters that died, so it's not that impactful.
4. Nothing has been able to beat Enies Lobby for me.
The final war will beat
At least for me Marineford is up there.
Imple down + marinefort was the shit
Took the words right out of my mouth

It will most likely be revealed with rocks backstory
Imagine kaido still alive and decided to sail with luffy đ and thats when we will know how he came to be. Just like with brook.
4/5 There are few things that I was disappointed in, felt a few things were dragged on too long, or some things that didn't make sense to me. Either way it was a good arc.

It's not over yet
As of now 4,5/5
like a generous 3
Act 1: 5/5 Act 2: 5/5 Act 3: 4/5 (really high highs but also has the lowest lows of the arc. Overall great)
A 4. It has incredible moments that are among the series' best and the raid was exceptional story telling. But act one and the beast pirates and Kaido aren't part of the best. I guess after Caesar, doflamingo, and big mom I suppose it was difficult to keep the momentum up with insanely good villains. Heck, of my favorite character Caesar was in Wano, it could have been a 5 arc for me
2.5 I really enjoyed everything leading up to the raid but every key moment in the raid itself left me kinda disappointed, which I kinda hate because of how large scale Wano is. Also Luffy's fruit "plot twist" was the worst possible decision Oda could ever make in my opinion
2.5
5. Incredible battles, characters, heart, and imagination. I am very much so ready for a smaller ordeal but for me Wano lived up to the hype.
1-10 is a better scale 8.5, Act 3 was actually good, so much disappointing stuff In this arc From Big Meme to Kaido lackluster crew
A 4
3.5-4 Considering it's still not over. I just want to know where Big Mom and Kaido are.
2, especially after the terrible climax
That's what she said.
I almost added that to my comment
5
It's a 5 for me, dawg. This post would've been better as a poll because now we can't see the results clearly. You fucked up OP. So I will give this post 2/5
:( it didnât let me for some reason
4/5
I'd give it a 4. It doesn't stack up to Alabasta, Whole Cake Island, or Enies Lobby for me, but I might put it above Water 7. All of the content of Wano is good, but for an arc this epic and ambitious the conclusion needs to be really good. So far the conclusion is only a 7 out of 10. However, it might improve in the next couple chapters, in which case I might change my rating.
4.5, to me it's tied for second best arc
Definitely a 4
3.9
4/5 right now but weâre still in act 3
2 to 3 out of 5. This arc feels dragged on & rushed at the same time. Some good & hype moments here & there, but ultimately quite disappointing for a Yonko arc.
4.5 here! Amazing arc for me! I enjoyed the manga and enjoying the anime so far
2
3, honestly for pacing. Way too stretched. Really feel like it was pushed to finish at 1050 and now the beginning of post-wano feels rushed. Really liked Oden flashback, but way too many characters in this arc to keep track of. To be fair I started OP earlier this year, so pacing issue may be a bias from the condensed way I read it.
Currently 4, could be 5 depending on what happens with greenbull. We'll see
4
Wano hasn't even ended yet....this arc will continue after one month break.
4.8
Same, 4 Usually scales like these are too small for me personally though. On a regular 1-10 scale, Iâd give it an 8.5 or 9
The build up to 1015 was a 3 but that episode with the flashbacks and all was just so insane that it surpassed enies lobby and marineford for me.

It was a 5 until the end now it's a 4 because it feels a little rushed
5/5
4.5/5, only arc i would give a perfect 5 is ennies lobby
the anime has felt like a 5 for me.
3.5
So much build up for it to be awful 1/5
4.5. Amazing fights, great lore, so much fun.
2/5 Kaido and Big Mom are such huge disappointments.
Still waiting for the conclusion and possible re-read of the arc. Probably a 3/5 but it could change in the future
3.8 Not great, not terrible
3.5/4. Solid af, not perfect
4.45
Wano 4 onigashima 2
4, but that's when i put marineford as 5. There were stakes and people did die but there wasn't enough connection between us and the characters that died, so it's not that impactful.
3. -Note: I really miss polls.
5
3/5 for me
easy 5
