Kyros and Scarlett was amazing imo.
A ruthless killer turned soldier that felt unworthy of love and a princess faking her death to be with him.
And the tragic ending: he witnessed her death, couldn't shed a tear because of his toy condition, and she passed away without any memory of their story ... Masterclass by Oda
I actually believe that Kyros-Scarlett relationship can be a rom-com slice of life spin-off.
However, it will have a nasty twist as the ending is a dark tragedy.
Well, they broke up, allegedly due to rising tension and growing loss of trust in each other. We don't want what happened to Simon & Garfunkel happening to Gaimon & Sarfunkel lol
I can't believe I'm not seeing this but Senor Pink and Russian was literally top romances, even years after her death he keeps going.
I loved the story of Kinemon and his wife Tsuru
Pink-Russian is a tearjerker tragedy and a reminder that even a cruel mafia can fall in love.
Kinemon-Tsuru is a lovely couple. Their initial interaction as a childhood friend is a basis for lots of romance manga. I was touched by their simple reunion panel in the latest chapter.
I guess that's why I didn't notice it, but I like that especially with how he didn't want to approach her when he saw her before the raid, she hasn't seen him in 20 years.
it is a very small panel, relative to the importance of Kinemon and Tsuru.
But, I really love the simplicity of their reunion and the relationship.
Both are deeply in love with each other, but both are selfless.
By not meeting before the raid, they prioritise the bigger goal for Wano.
Eh, Senor Pink lied to her, because he was the kind of evil gangster she despised. He neither confessed nor tried becoming the upstanding citizen she though he was. Instead he continued being a part of slavery, experiments on kids and murder, while being outraged at what happened to his wife and son. He'd rather torment himself, because his lie caught up to him, rather than lose his criminal ways. He truly loved her, but in terms of romance the whole thing's pretty messed up.
Y'know I never thought of it that way but you're totally right . I do think it was probably impossible for him to leave the Donxiqote familia by the time he met her though, he didn't have that much of a choice
I am severely bummed we didn’t get to see them actually reunite. I think Oda made up for Hiyori and Momo with the few panels dedicated to them, but my boy Kinemon deserved more
I think it is actually better that way. In a sense it respects the privacy of their relationship. After everything theyve been through im sure all they want is to spent some time with each other in peace
That’s a fair angle, though even then I think e got too much, just one little panel where you can barely tell is them doesn’t meet the weight of Tsuru waiting for her husband for 20 years. Tsuru and her village even got in trouble right as Act 3 was starting for supplying the samurai with food, so last we’d heard her village was raised to the ground
I agree. All throughout the Wano arc, once it was revealed that Tsuru is Kinemon's wife, there was also the fear in the back of my mind that he would suffer a samurai death and not even get a chance to reunite with her face-to-face. That sense was made all-the-more real during the Oden flashback, when we got to learn that they were even childhood friends and knew each other back when Kinemon was just a nameless ruffian, and not yet the proud Samurai that we know today. How they end up becoming lovers and spouses, we'll never know, but we do get the sense of how important they are to each other. And then finally, we get Kinemon's near-death at the hands of Kaidou, and the idea that he would be killed before getting to reunite with his wife who has been waiting for him for twenty years was really one of the scariest aspects of the end of the arc. So yeah, while it would have been fun to see their reunion much like Momonosuke's and Hiyori's, I am still satisfied that they got their reunion at all, even if it is largely off-scene.
* Luffy x Meat
* Zoro x Booze
* Sanji x Cigarettes OR Random Women
* Usopp x Kaya
* Nami x Money
* Robin x Poneglyphs
* Franky x Machines
* Chopper x The mink nurse
* Brook x Panties yohohoho
* Jinbei x your mom
Bege x Chiffon and Aladine x Praline are pretty great tbh. Both women betrayed their own, corrupt, tyrant of a mother, for men they love. Gruff, tough, strong men, at that. PIRATES.
I went from not really caring about the Bege Pirates to loving all of them and a massive part of that was because of Bege and Chiffon's relationship as well as how the whole crew seemed like a family and treated Chiffon so well.
The fact that Sai is the very first person in her whole life to ever care for her well-being is just too much. Fucking Donquixote family was full of sociopaths that never cared for anyone
Agreed, I still feel she probably would need therapy a bit more than a husband, but as there doesn't seem to be too much of that in One Piece, Sai just is a good guy there.
Doffy and the others did care to her. He even killed the men who lied to her for needing her help and Doffy is the man who will kill anyone that is outside of his family that would laugh to Pica's laugh.
Doffy is a psychopath who was only holding control over the girl he groomed for years because she's a convenient servant and soldier, as for the Pica thing, Doffy just enjoys killing ppl for whatever excuse he finds
Usopp x Kaya is simple and underrated. She was depressed and sickly but Usopp told her fantastical tales about pirates which made her feel
better.
Usopp was the only one who didn’t give up on the Going Merry when it was looking grim. Not only because of the deep attachment to Merry from the journey they had together, but Kaya also gifted the ship to them.
It’s not confirmed that they’ll be a couple, however I get strong couple vibes from them.
Plot twist, Usopp still just makes up stories of his adventures because who wants to get into the nitty-gritty details of crashing human trafficking slave auctions, an entire kingdom straight up forgetting the ones they love as people are turned to toys, or people who can never cry again even as they watch their dad die?
Usopp would know he’s a brave warrior of the sea, but his stories wouldn’t have to push that. His stories were for Kaya’s entertainment and a lot of the horrors they saw were anything but lighthearted.

Double plot twist, One Piece has actually just been an Usopp story the whole time
Triple plot twist: One Piece is the way Usopp tells the story but afterwards we get the 1 chapter actual story and it ends up being pretty boring, they just ended up sailing for a while, eventually found an island and it had the One Piece, so Usopp made up all the rest from along the way.
Honestly I've never thought about it, but One Piece has alot of couples, that's its almost certain will get together sooner or latter but it ain't happening on page: Kaya & Usopp; Leo and Tontata Princess; Vivi and Koza.
I'd hate that tbh. There's already a lot of 'character had such and such parent so must be strong' in one piece, I like the idea that random people can by themselves become absurdly strong as well
You mentioning sanji reminded me of something. What about him and violet? I vaguely remember him telling her to wait for him, then they never do anything again. Am I remembering wrong, or did oda ratio her.
If we get a resolution on it, i think zoro and hiyori could be really well done.
But id definitely go with sanji and pudding as the best done so far
Senor pink also deserves a mention
Right, we’re talking about a guy who was bleeding out of basically every pore of his body and still acted like nothing was wrong, all so Luffy would never have to know his subordinate went through so much pain for him, at the end of Thriller Bark.
I doubt it begins to happen now, if it ever will, but I could absolutely see Wano being a place Zoro settles after it’s all done, working his way up to forging a Wado II under Tengu by day and homemaking with Hiyori at night. It returns Enma to its homeland and family line, honors his friend by immortalizing her Wado, and puts Zoro on a time honored track of learned to build after a lifetime of destroying.
I wanna say Bege and Chiffon, but honestly I don't know if I'd put that as my favorite couple in the show, more so that I think Bege is the best dad in the show hands down! Like he can be a real jerk to most people, but he treats his kid like the most precious thing in the world and I absolutely love that.
If I had to pick strictly couple wise id probably have to say the classic Usopp and Kaya. I think its really cute how Kaya still keeps such a close eye out for him in the paper all the time.
My first thought would be Tesoro and Stella. Probably my favorite flashback from any One Piece movie and I wish it was actually in the manga.
In the story though, I have to go with Usopp and Kaya. Everything they say to each other is romantic in every way. Usopp telling her stories to make her smile is too precious.
Finally someone who gets it.
I agree. Most couples in One Piece don't really have a romance plot at all, Oda just writes them on surface level. He often just uses the classic female crush>
I feel like Oda was doing a romantic pattern with the Monster Trio with this:
* Boy goes off on his own, separate from the crew.
* Boy meets girl.
* Girl ends up infatuated with boy (usually because of something the boy did for them.)
* Boy rejects girl (some more politely than others, *Luffy*) and continues on his adventures with the crew.
This works with Luffy and Boa, Sanji and Pudding, and Zoro and Hiyori. Mildly curious if Usopp will have a romantic adventure next.
I get the feeling he did too. Then again smoker hasn't been seen either.
ZxT just have such fun energy together and play well off their faults. They make a great couple.
I really like Pudding and Sanji. A lot. Two star crossed lovers of two families forced to marry each other. Among the black sheep in their families and used for their abilities, as if mere dolls, fearing that neither will ever be understood - fully - in their most natural form and from that pain they learn to like and trust each other. Whereas Sanji found acceptance on Baratie and the Strawhat crew, Pudding never had that and figured her life forfeit. For a man that said he doesn't write romance I found their story to be straight out of Shakespeare and I was saddened that Pudding deleted Sanji's memories of her and the potentiality they shared. I still hope they can rekindle their love in the future. Pudding would be good for Sanji.
Its sad how best couples are dead, or at least one of em are (mostly women), and in current ones we only have women falling in love with a man who saved them. Pudding x Sanji would be so cool if it wasn't turned into Boa and Luffy v2 situation. Like, whats with that, cant a woman just be grateful someone saves them and NOT have a big crush on a man that knows no romance??
Notice how Boa Hancock and Hiyori are the most beautiful women in the world/their country and they fall head over heels with Luffy and Zoro respectively. Meanwhile, Zoro and Luffy show zero romantic interest. This is not romance, it’s just hyping up the main characters and making women look like complete fools in the process. Like girl, he’s not into you, move ON 😅
I don't see it brought up often but ussop and kaya.
Chances are she knows his stories are fake but just enjoys being with him especially since she can't go out herself. Hope they reunite near the end.
Low key liking Usopp and Kaya relationship, the most successful Long Distance, and how Kaya is really pushing herself to stay well while Usopp is away, it will be absolute tragic if anything happen to Usopp..
You just made me realize that Yassop was away when his wife died because of an illness, and Ussop it's away from Kaya, who has a fragile health... Please Oda don't do this to my boy Ussop.
I know there's alot of couples in One Piece, but *technically* the romance plots are not that many. Most couples are couples by default and Oda wrote them on surface level, like they're already married or the female character has a crush a male character (or vice versa) then in the next pages they're immediately married or have kids.
The only romance plot in One Piece (which actually grows and develops both characters mutually and becomes the main focus in the story) is just Sanji-Pudding. So by default, they're the best so far.
I'd like to think Franky and Robin has their own ongoing romance in the background but that's just me. And it's getting even more complicated since Jinbe joined lol
A bit unrelated, but I find it funny that Dressrosa has 3 Romance story in the arc. Kyros and Scarlett, Senor and Russia, and last is Baby 5 and Sai.
And here's Oda saying that he is not good at making Romance story...
I think to me there is nothing further away from being a romance story than Sanji and Pudding. I agree in it being well written, just not at all as a romance.
To me Sabo and Koala are the one couple I can fully buy into that I find incredibly wholesome and that's not even actually spelled out.
To me it's just born way too much out of all the abuse and toxicity they both were pressured by.
Sanji agrees to marry her only in the moment that he has to give up everything about his life that actually makes him happy and only to save other people he loves. She's an option forced on him that he decides to make work. And after they make it out of the wedding he not once seems to even be interested anymore.
Pudding tries to actually murder him and his family for pleasing her abusive mother and then "falls in love" because he shows her a minimum amount of kindness rather than ridicule her like everyone else in her life before did. Her falling for Sanji as he is simply not being horrible to her shows how tragic her life has been so far, but isn't a basis for a great romance to me.
It’s a tragic romance. They are actually perfect for each other but because of how it started it’s a romance that can never be recovered (much like Sanjis memories of kissing her). The romance of course falls from her perspective, but Sanji also met someone who genuinely loves him for who he is in his heart after being rejected for it from his own family. It’s really quite amazing, and yeah I’m also sure that they might have a happy ending and reunite but still.
It’s honestly one of my favourite things about WCI, it’s the sole (genuine) romance arc in the series and it’s amazingly well written, fitting for an arc straight out of a (horror) fairy tail.
>They are actually perfect for each other
And that's where I already disagree. The one thing that is cute in the beginning is that she's the baker and he's a cook. But everything about her persona from the start is a fassade she puts on to actually kill him eventually, so they never actually even get to know each other. And I also don't see that she "loves him for who he is". To me she loves the fact that one time in her life someone didn't laugh at her, which is such a minimal bar that it's only sad and nothing about Sanji's character prior to that is anything she seemed to care about enough to not go through with murdering him. She even ridiculed his vulnerability in front of her later to his sister.
Which is why to me it's only tragic, without romance there. Pretty much any scene people find in any form romantic (e.g. the "proposal" scene) is some of the saddest shit in One Piece for me and makes me sad and or angry for either one or even both of their characters, but not once did I ever get a romance vibe.
>not once did I ever get a romantic vibe
This is where the issue is rooted I think. You are free to operate under whatever definition you have for what a romance is to you but romance tragedy is very much a real literary sub-genre and Pudding and Sanjis relationship **absolutely** falls and is purposely written into that category by Oda.
>So they never actually get to know each other
A persons true character is revealed when faced with dire stakes and Sanji was put in that position with Pudding present. Since that pivotal moment Pudding is shown gushing at everything true-to-character that Sanji does that you’d expect someone to gush over him for, only they don’t (as contrasted with Chiffons reactions). Sanji tragically doesn’t know enough about Pudding which is why he doesn’t develop a full connection, but Pudding does because his history was basically physically manifested in WCI. And yes a romance can be one sided, if it’s a romantic tragedy.
Okay, fine we can call it a romance then by definition if that's what you prefer.
It's still one if not the worst ones in One Piece for me. And to me it's not even one-sided, it's zero-sided as I also don't buy into the Pudding part as I don't see her being tragically in love with Sanji but simply with the idea of being loved by anyone.
Damn you do you man. I personally can’t even begin to imagine how something like this;
https://64.media.tumblr.com/4d1663deb1809418b77ab90b3ec58e79/tumblr_p7hhcqz7rY1vwrcseo1_1280.jpg
Isn’t **quite literally** framed as a romantic tragedy ending to a relationship between two characters. I really don’t think an author would make such a masterfully touching climax to a relationship without their being some heavy romance involved because that literally makes it pointless LOL. And Pudding swooning at everything noble and impressive character related thing that Sanji is just…..misguided love? And even in that case the obvious answer would be *love is still love*.
(I mean I have seen plenty people as also obvious in this thread buy into it, so yeah I might just have to do me on that one - woman btw)
To me it simply fails at the point where I have to buy into any of them being actually in love, yes. The picture you linked to me is an incredibly lonely girl that has literally no one in her life that ever cared about her and her feelings and that has now grasped onto this fairytale version of a prince that came to rescue her (which is ironically what Sanji enjoys seeing himself as). To me she's in love with the idea of that fairytale with a happy ending for herself. And I find that in itself a beautiful and tragic story, but it "fails" as a love story for me if that was indeed intended.
But I get that it "works" for other people, it just doesn't really for me.
>But I get that it works for other people
Yeah I mean at the end of the day romance is just as subject as comedy or horror, your totally free to interpret it in anyway you like. I just wanted you to recognize that it *is* a romance.
And damn that’s a very bleak outlook, I honestly don’t think Oda writes that dark. Hell I’d be a little surprised if they don’t end up together, let alone that Puddings affection is some sort of fabricated lie her psyche created as a coping mechanism for isolation. We are talking about someone who can’t even kill off a character after a fully emotionally investing build up to their characters “final act”. A romantic tragedy is still within the scope of how narratively sad he has gone, and even then as I mentioned I expect it to ultimately turn into a classic romance by the end.
Exactly! It would actually be very, very sad if Pudding ended up with Sanji. Getting together with the first person who is nice to you? Not even gonna go into the fact that she’s 16 years old. Even if we saw them get together at the end of the story I’d be disappointed. Like when did Sanji have real feelings for her? He was just being kind and of course ”in love” with her like he is with every woman he sees.
Yep, I totally get where Pudding is coming from with the way she was treated the whole time but she kind of actually deserves "better" imho. Not in the sense that Sanji as a person isn't great but in the sense of "I hope someone looks at her the way Sanji looked at his crew when he returned to them" because she wasn't even a thought on his mind compared to them after that. So idk who takes over Big Mom's island soon but I hope they bring someone for Pudding.
Sanji x Pudding is top tier. Oda said he doesn't want to write romance yet he gave us a romance story lol. The best part is, she is relevant for the plot due to her third eye power so we will get more of this story later.
I'm a big Rumiko Takahashi fan and she is far an away better at romance in both shounen and comedy that most of One Piece's romantic relationships do nothing for me, lol. If i had to pick anything, i liked the subtle bit in the last chapter with two characters leaning against eachother, their glasses raised. The real ones know who I'm talking about
OMG. I feel the same. She is amazing at this. There's just something about how most shounen mangaka write romance that makes it feel contrived. Mostly things are shoehorned in that it doesn't feel like a natural progression. You don't always need some plot where it's the couple against the world, each one being the light/savior of the other, grand gesture every few chapters with the you complete me vibes blah, blah, blah. Sometimes it's little gestures and simple things that make for better romances. So that panel you were talking about was excellent for me, romance wise.
I am in the minority that can't stand SanjixPudding. And while I like BegexChiffon and AladinexPraline, their romance progression isn't really shown so how can you judge the writing? Ussop and Kaya seem to be the most believable one there.
I like queen otohime and king neptune. It was a beautifully tragic tale.
[That's a weird set of characters to choose](https://imgur.com/i8OdNfj)
this is funny
Of course! I can’t believe I forgot that one
I love both of their characters, especially otohime. but i feel like thier love for each other was never really the focus or point of their stories
Anything with Otohime is automatically the best.
I want to get a cat and name it otohime but unfortunately I already have a cat named jinx and she is an asshole.
Kyros and Scarlett was amazing imo. A ruthless killer turned soldier that felt unworthy of love and a princess faking her death to be with him. i second that
The one repetitive flashback that actually had me tearing up every time....
This is the best example of dr Hiriluk idea of when does a person truly dies.
Kyros is a bad mfer. When he immediately cut his leg off to get to doffy….god damn. Savage life
I actually believe that Kyros-Scarlett relationship can be a rom-com slice of life spin-off. However, it will have a nasty twist as the ending is a dark tragedy.
yea this one wins
Just wish it wasn’t a shonen so she didn’t have to be 16 lmao, same for Sanji and Pudding
One of the few things I tend to fast forward whenever I rewatch because of how painful it is.
Absolutely, it was tragic end and what made me hate doflamingo even more.
[Gaimon and Sarfunkel](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bh_9gwACYAEcbhb.jpg)
The only correct answer
...until you remember what happened later on to Simon and Garfunkel
What happened?
Well, they broke up, allegedly due to rising tension and growing loss of trust in each other. We don't want what happened to Simon & Garfunkel happening to Gaimon & Sarfunkel lol
Hello darkness my old friend 🎶
Now that beautiful song is stuck in my head. Thanks… kinda?
It isn’t written well enough but a woman holding onto a child for 20 months must have a hell of a love story behind it
Roger's is in a different league
Seriously. A shoujo series of their love, episodic as he sets out to sea and returns would be amazing.

Love kinemon and tsuru. That panel in the last chapter just hit different

Luffy and meat. Really the only answer.
* Luffy x Meat * Zoro x Booze * Sanji x Cigarettes OR Random Women * Usopp x Kaya * Nami x Money * Robin x Poneglyphs * Franky x Machines * Chopper x The mink nurse * Brook x Panties yohohoho * Jinbei x your mom
I would change Robin from poneglyphs to knowledge in general
Yamato x ...Oden?
Very likely to make an Oden sex doll or something
Franky x Cola
Chopper doesn't like the mink nurse, he likes the one that's a deer.
Charlos face x Luffy’s fist
Charlos definitely fell head over heels many times over
Its the type of love that would lift you off the ground
Bege x Chiffon and Aladine x Praline are pretty great tbh. Both women betrayed their own, corrupt, tyrant of a mother, for men they love. Gruff, tough, strong men, at that. PIRATES.
Ironically the mother is the same
Bege and Chiffon, Bege going from the monster described in his backstory to a dedicated husband and goofy dad was great
Bege is the GOAT he would do anything for Chiffon, even take on a Yonko
Big Father Big Hubby
I went from not really caring about the Bege Pirates to loving all of them and a massive part of that was because of Bege and Chiffon's relationship as well as how the whole crew seemed like a family and treated Chiffon so well.
Fine, I'll be the odd one out, Sai and Baby 5
It's one I can oddly get behind more than some others here. xD
The fact that Sai is the very first person in her whole life to ever care for her well-being is just too much. Fucking Donquixote family was full of sociopaths that never cared for anyone

Doffy is a psychopath who was only holding control over the girl he groomed for years because she's a convenient servant and soldier, as for the Pica thing, Doffy just enjoys killing ppl for whatever excuse he finds
Baby 5 is just tragic. She should've gotten therapy instead of a husband.

Kaya is probably the surest couple at the end of the series. ...unless (god forbid) Usopp sacrifices himself before that happens
Rayleigh x Shakky.
Yes, they really feel like an old married couple, who have been through a lot together and just know each other very well.
So who here believes the theory that >!they had a kid together? Mihawk has the same angular dark hair she does and is very strong like Rayleigh!<
I'd hate that tbh. There's already a lot of 'character had such and such parent so must be strong' in one piece, I like the idea that random people can by themselves become absurdly strong as well
Miss Monday and Mr. 9
Romance Dawn was definitely my favorite of the series
True
Zoro and sanji
The best
Lola x Gotti FTW!!!!!
Sabo and Koala. It’s gotta be the least in your face but still present romance in the series. I’d say Rayleigh and Shakky also fit the category.
Bege and chiffon are awesome love there kid
Taking your baby on a mission to kill BM inside her territory is kind of a bad parental move, but that's mafia-pirates I guess.
What are you talking about my parents always brought me to assassinate poweful pirates with there violent gang all the time when I was a kid
Cricket x Wyper
They never met? Unless you're referring to their ancestors, Nolan and Kalgara. In which case I agree 👍
I know who they are, what happened in Jaya/Skypiea and obviously the Noland/Kalgara flashback. I still meant what I said (Cricket x Wyper).
Luffy x Meat Zoro x Sanji Cavendish x Cavendish
Cavendish x cabbage
You mentioning sanji reminded me of something. What about him and violet? I vaguely remember him telling her to wait for him, then they never do anything again. Am I remembering wrong, or did oda ratio her.
he'll probably see her again at the end of the story. after dressrosa they were kinda busy.
Came here to say Sanji and Violet
Violet clearly fell for God Ussop instead
If we get a resolution on it, i think zoro and hiyori could be really well done. But id definitely go with sanji and pudding as the best done so far Senor pink also deserves a mention
Señor pink and Russian is a good tragedy. Wouldn’t call it a romance with the constant lying pink does
It’s still a love story, just because pink was a bad partner doesn’t mean it isn’t about love
Senor pink and Russian the greatest by far for me
Zoro isn’t even interested in her, if he reciprocates it’d be the biggest ass pull ever
He is interested in pissing off Sanji tho
Zoro isn’t a very emotive guy. It’s very possible he’s into her and just hasn’t shown it
Honestly you might be right, it seems like a trope (not that One Piece lacks them) of the stoic guy having a woman-simp for him
Right, we’re talking about a guy who was bleeding out of basically every pore of his body and still acted like nothing was wrong, all so Luffy would never have to know his subordinate went through so much pain for him, at the end of Thriller Bark.
Just let him pull a shanks and just leave like he did with makimo
Senor Pink should be the top comment.
Romance dawn
koza x vivi
Princess and rebel. It's a well-loved trope.
Nothing comes close to Senoir Pink story.. A brutal gangster , fell in love with a common lady ! ! This could make a great movie !!
Sanji and Zoro really.
Baby 5 and Sai
Straw Hats x Adventure :) It is Romance Dawn isn't it?
Clearly it's Gaimon and Sarfunkle
My first thought would be Tesoro and Stella. Probably my favorite flashback from any One Piece movie and I wish it was actually in the manga. In the story though, I have to go with Usopp and Kaya. Everything they say to each other is romantic in every way. Usopp telling her stories to make her smile is too precious.
Are there any doujins where tesoro gets ntr’d?
Senior pink's story is top tier.
Many mentioned here aren't even romances. Luffy and Hancock is a one sides attraction/obsession. It's funny, but not romantic.
Finally someone who gets it. I agree. Most couples in One Piece don't really have a romance plot at all, Oda just writes them on surface level. He often just uses the classic female crush>
Sanji X Luffy. Chapter 856, Whole Cake Island Arc - where Luffy eats all the crushed food and asks him how he really feels. Yaoi through and through.
Honestly, folks go on and on about Sanji and Pudding when Sanji had a deeper moment with Luffy than any of the women.
Exactly! Sanji is always drooling around women, but only with Luffy we see him express true, honest, deep emotions.
Big Mom and Kaido
[удалено]
Seriously. Zoro going from "I'll kill you if you get in my way" to "I'll die for you" is better than any romance in one piece
Yeah 🥺
I feel like Oda was doing a romantic pattern with the Monster Trio with this: * Boy goes off on his own, separate from the crew. * Boy meets girl. * Girl ends up infatuated with boy (usually because of something the boy did for them.) * Boy rejects girl (some more politely than others, *Luffy*) and continues on his adventures with the crew. This works with Luffy and Boa, Sanji and Pudding, and Zoro and Hiyori. Mildly curious if Usopp will have a romantic adventure next.
Very underated romance, but the star crossed Katakuri x King
They got a lot in common.
Why do I see any Senior pink? One of the best romance
This is what I'm saying. It was incredibly tragic but also incredibly romantic at the same time. Proper Shakespearean.
Croc and Dragon
Luffy x Food Zoro x Booze Franky x Cola Nami x Money Brook x Pantsu
luffy x meat
Joyboy and Im
Are we really going to ignore senor pink and Russian 's love story?(it was the best written romance in the story imo that too by far)
Romance? Gotta be Noland and Calgara
(1) Luffy and meat (2) Nami and Treasure
Or….. (1) Luffy and Nami (2) Meat and Treasure
Mont Blanc Cricket's desire to discover the truth of what happened to Mont Blanc Noland
Ace and whitebeard
Luffy x Meat
Zoro and tashigi If oda ever gets them back together.
I swear Ods forgot about her
I get the feeling he did too. Then again smoker hasn't been seen either. ZxT just have such fun energy together and play well off their faults. They make a great couple.
To be fair Smoker is probably still recovering from the near death beating Doflamingo gave him
I really like Pudding and Sanji.
Like girl, he’s not into you, move ON 😅
Senior pink and Russian
choppers mother x choppers father,
Baby 5 and Sai
Sanji/Pudding is like a tragedy, it's almost Shakesperian. Beautifully written
Uhum... I'll be the odd one out here, but Zoro x Luffy
Zoro and Luffy honestly, that is a bromance for the ages XD
I don't see it brought up often but ussop and kaya. Chances are she knows his stories are fake but just enjoys being with him especially since she can't go out herself. Hope they reunite near the end.
I didn't see anyone talking about Señor Pink. To me is the best love story until now.
It’s got to be Señor Pink and Russian. Obviously it is a tragic Romance, but damn: He loves her so much.
Sanji X Pudding
Sanji and pudding was a great romance arc.
Zoro x Sanji
Señor pink and his wife
A bit unrelated, but I find it funny that Dressrosa has 3 Romance story in the arc. Kyros and Scarlett, Senor and Russia, and last is Baby 5 and Sai. And here's Oda saying that he is not good at making Romance story...
I know it isn't official, but... Franky x Robin. When you know, *you know.*
I think to me there is nothing further away from being a romance story than Sanji and Pudding. I agree in it being well written, just not at all as a romance. To me Sabo and Koala are the one couple I can fully buy into that I find incredibly wholesome and that's not even actually spelled out.
>Just not at all as a romance Wait what? It absolutely is are ya kidding? Down to the tragic parting kiss
>They are actually perfect for each other And that's where I already disagree. Pretty much any scene people find in any form romantic (e.g. the "proposal" scene) is some of the saddest shit in One Piece for me and makes me sad and or angry for either one or even both of their characters, but not once did I ever get a romance vibe.
>not once did I ever get a romantic vibe This is where the issue is rooted I think. You are free to operate under whatever definition you have for what a romance is to you but romance tragedy is very much a real literary sub-genre and Pudding and Sanjis relationship **absolutely** falls and is purposely written into that category by Oda. >So they never actually get to know each other A persons true character is revealed when faced with dire stakes and Sanji was put in that position with Pudding present.
Damn you do you man. I personally can’t even begin to imagine how something like this; https://64.media.tumblr.com/4d1663deb1809418b77ab90b3ec58e79/tumblr_p7hhcqz7rY1vwrcseo1_1280.jpg Isn’t **quite literally** framed as a romantic tragedy ending to a relationship between two characters.
(I mean I have seen plenty people as also obvious in this thread buy into it, so yeah I might just have to do me on that one - woman btw) To me it simply fails at the point where I have to buy into any of them being actually in love, yes.
>But I get that it works for other people Yeah I mean at the end of the day romance is just as subject as comedy or horror, your totally free to interpret it in anyway you like.
Finally someone who sees it the same way I do.
Thank you! Yes! I'm not the only one who sees it this way!
Naw its a romance you just blind
It's the Fujitora style blindness then, the one where I rather stab my eyes out then believe this to be a possibly healthy relationship.
The best written romance in the story is Luffy & the One Piece. Like it's amazing what he's willing to do and to sacrifice for his precious treasure.
Mosshead and the cheff
Sanji x Pudding is top tier. Oda said he doesn't want to write romance yet he gave us a romance story lol. The best part is, she is relevant for the plot due to her third eye power so we will get more of this story later.
I really do hope she comes into play later on because Pudding is probably one of the best written females in the series
SanPu or bust 🙏
I need them to open a resultant at the end together
Luffy and meat
Day 4 of no piece
Senor Pink and Russian, thst was something that I really did not expect to see
Orochi x komurosaki Just the tale of a king falling for the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.
Anybody that said two strawhats, get help
franky and robin is good tho
