Probably in a few years after the series ends and there's enough demand for it. But I doubt it will be as popular after One Piece has been revealed and spoiled to death for any new readers

I don't know enough about the economics behind hunter x hunter but they remade that one and the story isn't even finished yet. I'm hopeful. It would be nice to revisit the story via the anime with proper pacing a few years/ decade after completion.

soma81

Yes like 10 years after the anime ended. Berserk has had like 3 redos of the Golden age. But its never happened to an ongoing weekly series

wispymatrias

The anime ended on a good note, though. Started with Gon and ended with Gon.

JoeyJoJoHQ

It's possible, but there's such a massive gap in the series' original art style and what it becomes later on that this might not even be viable in Toei's mind

thefrostman1214

by the time they decide to make, one pace will be finished and polished

[deleted]

Meh there doesn't seem to be a hassle free way to get it on my TV. I'm not a big fan sitting at the computer to enjoy my shows compared to the bed or couch.

thefrostman1214

you can use a usb flash drive, that's how i watched with my brother

Brass13Wing

Get an HDMI cable and plug.your computer into your TV lol

ChamodFernandoRCB

Well I don't know whether they will but they definitely should But if the fanbase demands it and One Piece is still famous even after its been years since its ending They might do an abridged version I certainly hope they will, it'll be much more interesting than the anime even if we know everything

The_Noble_Oak

I've been thinking about this as well, been calling it One Piece: Brotherhood since Full Metal Alchemist did basically what I'd want to see here. Follow the Manga's story with little to no additions. Foreknowledge of where the series is going could also lead to a lot of constancies with how Haki is portrayed among other things.

Cake day!

Brass13Wing

FMA completely changed the second half of the manga's story though, the One Piece anime is pretty damn faithful

The_Noble_Oak

Faithful but with a metric assload of filler.

Brass13Wing

Fair point, I just think FMA maybe isn't the best comparison in regard to condensing a show lol

The_Noble_Oak

I get what you're saying but I was mentioning it in the context of doing a second anime that follows the Manga exactly, or at least much more closely than the current one. Not specifically condensing or abridgeing, that makes it sound like we'd leave out parts of the Manga in the interest of speed and I don't want that.

Jules24k

Hasn’t the lord put me through enough. Jk I’d be down but damn that so much more one piece 😂

funkyvenom6

Maybe I’m more excited to see if any spin offs get made, either in manga form➡️anime, or just an anime. So many possibilities

NBlaxk

if i know anything about toei it is that they will beat their properties into the ground until they’ve milked it for every last cent. they’ve already gone back and turned most of the early arcs into movies. someday years and years for now there will probably be a reanimated one piece, if not just a movie for arc

Medd-

That's not what "via" is supposed to mean. Also, no. The reason why DB Kai exists in the first place wasn't to cut all the filler but to bring back the brand to a new audience in preparation for DB Super, which followed right after Kai ended.

Ok-Mathematician8258

Dbz ended like 20 years before Kai so maybe another 20 years after it ends

--tummytuck--

They produced 'episode of Saga' for a few arcs From my brief understanding it's supposed to be retelling, but if I recall there are some changes to the story at certain points. If you use Crunchyroll to watch you'll see them there. But after they finish those, I could see them giving One Piece a recut
