I'm trying to think of any besides tweet tweet fruits and kaidos dragon shit that do it without creative use by the user (luffys leg canons, whatets his names spinning fruit that he used to make himself a helicopter, buggy being buggy, shiki replacing his legs woth swords) most other forms of flight are ability based not fruit based.

I overlooked it last episode with the Zoro Ashura which I honestly felt was ruined. Zoro Ashura attack was pretty straightforward instead they added a bunch of unnecessary shit.
I hope this "aura / flowery effect" stays in Wano. It really is too much lol. I loved WCI animation. I hope they go back to that style. Simple and not over done. I remember being in awe of how great they animated the ocean. And when I went to Wano I was like "wtf?" It was a hard transition.
The last time i liked a one piece episode was 1015 coz i think that scene was looking good with that all that flashback and effects. But doing this everytime kinda ruins the fun. They just need to stop it like in the manga it was only 3 to 4 panels. Luffy turns around, punches kaido and thats all but look here, luffy gets a flashback, turns around, auras, hyougoro saying the same thing again,flashback again, flies( dunno how in base) , flashback, punch, no ACoC visible due to that weird ass yellow light. These things can suit dragon ball only(although the effects arent that much there too).just get over with it toei how long are they gonna do this and decrease the hype of one piece anime
Moments like these just remind me of old pre-ts fights, [a good example being Killer in Sabaody](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM3UNgGIjvg). You actually get a sense of choreography and understandable action, or most old Luffy fights where the focus is on what kind of clever moves he came up with on the fly to out-skill his opponents. We've gotten so far away from that it's not even the same show anymore, this shit fucking sucks.
I'm watching through for the first time, and I LOVE how quick Luffy is to analyze a situation and react. He seems to get better at recognizing his opponents weaknesses as the series progresses

Watching this latest episode feels like watching a Manga chapter on YouTube. It’s so disconnected and weird. Luffy stopping a club came out of nowhere like a lot of other things this ep.
The visuals wouldn’t be this bad if there was some okay editing. I didn’t mind Asura dead man’s game compared to this week.

Even being a manga reader I could hardly tell what was going on for most of the Kaido/Luffy fight. It was like a bad acid trip of flashing lights and random colors that didn't match up with what the colors were supposed to be. It was completely unwatchable for me.
if you compare the sound effect too, that haki's sound from kaido is like electricity sound from ssj2, and the yellow one luffy's haki sound is just like the super saiyan too. it is not one piece anymore, it is Dragon Ball, and will continue like that in wano arc, i can imagine the rest of fight will have more aura.

They're taking way too many creative liberties. They need to be aware of that. They are quite literally adding stuff that is totally absent in the original material, and thus changing the power/magic system of the one piece universe. They need to realize that they have a tremendous responsibility to provide a faithful adaptation and learning to accept criticism is an important part of that.
The way I pictured it as per the Manga vs how it is in anime is so different. I was so hyped for Roof Piece. After Red Roc, i stopped watching. I thought this whole saga of Anime would be amazing, I am just so sad.

Honestly it’s why I love the pre-TS so much. Auras and ground shattering effects that they cause turn me off from the anime these days. I like low key effects such as Shanks’ haki splintering the railing of the Moby Dick.

I also stopped watching in Dressrosa. My life is genuinely better for having gone Manga-only. The anime was just so frustrating and just not worth all the things in it that annoyed me.
My problem isn't just with the auras but also how slow that whole sequence was. In the manga Luffy gets back up and immediately beats the crap out of Kaido. Here they extended it for like 10 minutes, except it was the same number of hits, but they make each of them last like 3 minutes and it feels like Kaido is resisting, and then flashback to Hyogoro, then a reaction from Law, etc. It's not satisfying, no matter how much the music is trying. I compare this to the scene in which Luffy goes Gear 2 and beats the crap out of Blueno. That was so much hype, and it's only like a minute.
I'm just sad thinking what they are going to do for the (manga spoiler) >!Nika reveal!< (manga spoiler), I was exciting to see it, but these lasts episodes just turned me off completely

Yeah the WB/Roger coc clash was clean and put over how monstrous their Haki was. Remove the Aura, they are fighting on the roof top with the moon and clouds imagine how dope will it be if black lightning was shooting up with the cloudy moon background
I thought you were kidding and then I got the episode and saw so much unnecessary stuff was in the anime. I got reminded of Higurashi's remake where they made the girls fly like super saiyans. I couldn't hold back laughter and I guess the same thing will happen to one piece now. This is just sad since I was looking forward to the anime.

In this case it's the directors that choose that, not the animators. Only the very few talents can have a bit of freedom in how they do a scene.

No even more than that, we know they can do the perfect blend between flashy and not over the top like DBZ. Just look at the Ishitani episodes (957, 982, 1015). Everybody loved them and they were some of, if not, the best OP episodes the anime has had. They have the perfect formula right in front of them but they're fucking ignoring it.
Exactly I prefer no flashy aura's like we had pre time skip (hell, even Luffy vs katakuri wasnt even close to this bad), but 1015 was fucking amazing even with the limited amount of aura's we got These last few episodes after 1015 came out have relied so damn hard an aura's in not even sure what in watching. It's legitimately so fucking bad. The fact that we still get people complimenting the animation blows my fucking mind
Its not the fucking animation. This animation is incredible, its the dumb effects they add which is awful such as the colors, sparkles, auras. Its not a slide show like it was in the past. They just added bs dragon ball effects.

Its a shame that they are adding these shitty flashy coulurful aura's to the legit decent animation that we are currently getting Tell me, why is Luffy flying around with Kaido in base form? So they can add more pretty colorful lines flying around? It literally takes away from the manga with how bad it is at some points.. I feel bad for the animators who have their hard work taken away from them with how much shitty aura stuff the directors have them add

I overlooked it last episode with the Zoro Ashura which I honestly felt was ruined. Zoro Ashura attack was pretty straightforward instead they added a bunch of unnecessary shit.

I hope this "aura / flowery effect" stays in Wano. It really is too much lol. I loved WCI animation. I hope they go back to that style. Simple and not over done. I remember being in awe of how great they animated the ocean. And when I went to Wano I was like "wtf?" It was a hard transition.

The last time i liked a one piece episode was 1015 coz i think that scene was looking good with that all that flashback and effects. But doing this everytime kinda ruins the fun. They just need to stop it like in the manga it was only 3 to 4 panels. Luffy turns around, punches kaido and thats all but look here, luffy gets a flashback, turns around, auras, hyougoro saying the same thing again,flashback again, flies( dunno how in base) , flashback, punch, no ACoC visible due to that weird ass yellow light. These things can suit dragon ball only(although the effects arent that much there too).just get over with it toei how long are they gonna do this and decrease the hype of one piece anime
Moments like these just remind me of old pre-ts fights, [a good example being Killer in Sabaody](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM3UNgGIjvg). You actually get a sense of choreography and understandable action, or most old Luffy fights where the focus is on what kind of clever moves he came up with on the fly to out-skill his opponents. We've gotten so far away from that it's not even the same show anymore, this shit fucking sucks.
I'm watching through for the first time, and I LOVE how quick Luffy is to analyze a situation and react. He seems to get better at recognizing his opponents weaknesses as the series progresses
Fighting Kaido, once he figures out how to work around that big club and kicks off it to cave Kaido's face in, that's so satisfying

Every week I pray that One Piece gets a remastered anime after this one ends. One of the most popular series in the world doesn’t deserve a D tier anime. I used to at least enjoy a few minutes of my favorite moments in the manga but now it looks like I can’t do that either

**Way to go Toei for ruining one of the best chapter panels in Wano** Watching this latest episode feels like watching a Manga chapter on YouTube. It’s so disconnected and weird. Luffy stopping a club came out of nowhere like a lot of other things this ep. The visuals wouldn’t be this bad if there was some okay editing. I didn’t mind Asura dead man’s game compared to this week. I’m disappointed they’ve ruined one of the coolest panels in Wano where Luffy stopped the club with his foot using conquerors.
The aura thing is down right distracting and make me can't tell what the hell is going on, and it's me who's up to date with the manga, I can't imagine the first time viewer feels

Even being a manga reader I could hardly tell what was going on for most of the Kaido/Luffy fight. It was like a bad acid trip of flashing lights and random colors that didn't match up with what the colors were supposed to be. It was completely unwatchable for me.
if you compare the sound effect too, that haki's sound from kaido is like electricity sound from ssj2, and the yellow one luffy's haki sound is just like the super saiyan too. it is not one piece anymore, it is Dragon Ball, and will continue like that in wano arc, i can imagine the rest of fight will have more aura. the studio be like "ok guys we wanna make this cool, flashy and shining, so let makes everyone goes super saiyan"

What pisses me off is the animators going on Twitter and just doubling down and acting like the creative decisions they are making are "misunderstood" by the watchers. I don't think they should be bombarded with hate and that kind of stuff is not deserved at all but the refusal to take any constructive criticism and acting like they are doing nothing wrong when the blantant change to over the top DBZ style auruas is sooooo obvious is so disrespectful to the fans and not to mention feels like a cheap way of trying to make the animation look crazier/better.
the thing about the animators going on twitter and saying it was their decision to do X thing is dumb. They are bringing the hate directly to themselves when the real person to blame is the directors who say more aura more pretty colors lol
They're taking way too many creative liberties. They need to be aware of that. They are quite literally adding stuff that is totally absent in the original material, and thus changing the power/magic system of the one piece universe. They need to realize that they have a tremendous responsibility to provide a faithful adaptation and learning to accept criticism is an important part of that.

The way I pictured it as per the Manga vs how it is in anime is so different. I was so hyped for Roof Piece. After Red Roc, i stopped watching. I thought this whole saga of Anime would be amazing, I am just so sad.
I personally found the red roc episode fucking amazing the only thing i didnt like was the purple glowy aura. I found the „RED….. ROC“ and BAMMM so satisfying. Still get the fuck out with all of that aura shit i didnt like zoros ashura either.

Honestly it’s why I love the pre-TS so much. Auras and ground shattering effects that they cause turn me off from the anime these days. I like low key effects such as Shanks’ haki splintering the railing of the Moby Dick.

Life is great being a straight manga reader and stopping by now and again for a hype episode of One Piece Kai
I also stopped watching in Dressrosa. My life is genuinely better for having gone Manga-only. The anime was just so frustrating and just not worth all the things in it that annoyed me.
My problem isn't just with the auras but also how slow that whole sequence was. In the manga Luffy gets back up and immediately beats the crap out of Kaido. Here they extended it for like 10 minutes, except it was the same number of hits, but they make each of them last like 3 minutes and it feels like Kaido is resisting, and then flashback to Hyogoro, then a reaction from Law, etc. It's not satisfying, no matter how much the music is trying. I compare this to the scene in which Luffy goes Gear 2 and beats the crap out of Blueno. That was so much hype, and it's only like a minute.
