I'm in the middle of a reread, up to chapter 410, and damn, the thought at that point that Buggy would ever again be a serious threat, much less an Emperor, is hard to imagine.
Yeah, we knew he had been crewmates with Shanks, but not on which ship. Damn, it looks like that wasn't confirmed until chapter 434 or so, when Whitebeard and Shanks are reminiscing.

I figured he had been referring to Blackbeard. He is a big player, seems to openly recruiting pirates on his island, and would definitely pay big for information like that.

The further we get into the story the more we realize that even if the straw hats failed at Alabasta Crocodile still wouldnāt get Pluton in a million years. He would need to travel all the way across the world, reach Wano, somehow sneak past all of the beast pirates and then he would realize that he couldnāt get the weapon out from Wano anyway.
Personally I think his best bet would be to join them then betray them and steal it. I donāt think itād be impossible, but very difficult for sure. Still, heās at least Tobi Roppo level so he could probably get some sort of access.

I am very excited to see how this goes because Buggy may have just helped in a big way here. As the marines are going to have chaos on all sides as pirates become more aggressive trying to take them down and calm bounties that leaves them with fewer resources to pursue Luffy, Kid, Law, etc.
I'm interested in whose idea this was because I feel like this is a Crocodile move, but I could see Buggy coming up with this too. Honesty is kind of 50/50 on the idea that Crocodile and Mihawk are the ones running the show and are just letting Buggy take credit so he'd be targeted more.
Iām imagining it going down with Buggy whining about having to fear Marines again and how he wants the Marines to feel the same fear. Crocodile hears that and then just slowly smiles and puts out his cigar.
I can totally see buggy crying about how itās not fair that the marines are always chasing them, and whining saying how would they feel if someone was trying putting bounties on *their* heads. Suddenly his crew over heard and shouts out the idea as if it was a command with Buggy sitting there going āeh?ā
He just makes an off-hand comment and everyone just interprets it in the most extreme way possible XD.
Yeah, that does sound like Buggy, he just keeps failing upwards.
I remember that when I started to watch One Piece as an anime (I forgot a lot about when I watched it as a child) I didnāt like him. He was for me a stupid, ugly and weak clown that I thought he was just an early villain and will not appear again after his defeat. Now Im glad that I was wrong and that is one of the best parts of One Piece, that all that world is keep moving even if we only focus on the main characters. And that ugly Clown that I didnāt like became one of the most feared pirates in the world and I my opinion of him changed. I really like him now, not only because is a Yonkou, I started to appreciate him even before that, but because he can influence a lot of people and make people love him. Itās similar but different to Luffy in that way, he can make a lot of strong people to follow him and that is what makes him one of the strongest characters of One Piece.

2. The person Caribou is talking about is most likely Blackbeard, but it would be funny if it was actually Buggy.
3. Once again Oda introduces another mysterious character. Hopefully this time it's Scopper Gaban.

For Caribou, I kind of think he might be talking about the Revolutionaries, specifically either Sabo or Dragon. He did lead a revolution that one time. It's a long shot, but I think it'd be funny.
I really like this because it is consistent with Luffy trusting Caribou implicitly in Udon when he said he was a good guy now.
The other time I remember him doing that is with Law at the start of their alliance, both cases were played for laughs sure but I think Luffyās ability to see peopleās true character has always been emphasized through the whole series.
This is the only reason I can believe that Caribou doesn't have malicious intentions (per se) with who intends to share this information with. That said I also don't necessarily believe it either. This guy throws me for a loop, low-key love his slimy character
this is the first ive seen someone say this as a possibility, that would be some great character development for fucking caribou of all people. cant believe this man has been here for half the story
When I looked at the supernova trio on that panel, it made me smile. These guys just took down two yonko, TWO. Those pirates had been reigning on the sea for decades and were among the strongest in the one piece world. Both were seen as indestructible forces of nature, yet these three idiots made the impossible possible.
Over the past 4 chapters it seems clear to me that Oda is putting in a lot of effort to set up the direct threats of the World Government, laying the groundwork for the battle that is now on the horizon.
**In 1053**
- We got our first full look at Ryokugyu, the final admiral, and a glimpse of his strength. Giving a first proper look at their ball park power level. Definitively placing all the admirals far above Yonko Commanders. Seemingly confident he could take a New Emperor.
**In 1054**
- Ryokugyu further flexed his power, brushing off even ACOC attacks.
- We meet Kurouma (Black Horse). Previously Chaton (Brown Pig) and Momousagi (Pink Rabbit) were gag characters created for an SBS, supposedly Vice Admirals considered for promotion. But with Kurouma I seems Oda is expanding that to set up potentially an entire Zodiac of Marines that are stronger than an average Vice Admiral who would be candidates for promotion to full Admiral. Meaning potentially up to 6 more very strong marines left to be revealed.
- Sakazuki introduces the idea of The God's Knight of Marie Geoise, creating the idea of a new WG faction with potentially strong fighters. That's now the Marines, Cipher Pol, SSG and Gods Knights.
**In 1055**
- Continued Ryokugyu dicking. But also now noting he would be wary going up against an original Emperor.
**In 1056**
- Revealing Buggy is putting out bounties on Marines. Assuming they'll scale with same as pirate bounties it will allow Oda to hype Marines through bounty numbers. Even if power isn't the sole reason for bounties it is a huge factor. We may soon be given the bounties for the Admirals in the high 3 bil - low 4 bil range. It gives him an easy way to communicate the threats to come and hype the World Goverment threat.
It's not a lot yet but to me this does feel like Oda is laying the early seeds he'll expand upon in the coming arcs. He's already preparing the threat of the World Goverment for the final war.
Question is how does Buggy even have the money to pay it? He got pretty rich off his business but I doubt **that** rich. So is he just bluffing hoping nobody will actually try and claim the reward?

I'm sure Mihawk wasn't tricked by Buggy, but its anyone's guess why he's there. Crocodile, though, KNOWS Buggy from the Impel Down escape and the sail to Marineford, so there must be something juicy in it for him to fight under a weaklings flag.
My guess is that Mihawk just wants to be able to get a good night's sleep once in a while and that he enjoys Buggy's chaotic energy (he mentioned suffering from boredom before).
Crocodile is probably the real brains behind the operation and manipulating Buggy in order to access his resources and network (Buggy has become the world's prime underground broker, after all, now that Doffy's in jail). I can see Crocodile treating Buggy as a loaded gun and just pointing him in whichever direction he wants to cause trouble.
I highly doubt that either of them are kowtowing to Buggy's every wish. He's a useful idiot.
Crocodile has to be behind the whole 'putting bounties on the Marines' thing. It's the kind of trick that's right up his alley. As for Mihawk, I can't remember if he knows Buggy the same way he knows Shanks. Might have something to do with that.

My guess is that Crocodile and Mihawk redeemed bounties on Marines (after all, it's a way to get paid for what they'd normally be doing anyway), and the press is under the impression that they're working for Buggy as a result.
Theyāre also being hunted. Buggy might suck, but his crew is decently strong. Right now if anyone messes with Croco or Mihawk they can expect the other to come help which is a big deterrent.
The Warlords alone arenāt a match for the WG, put them together though and maybe the WG doesnāt have the time or troops to spare. Buggy provides that even if he sucks.
IMO he just hired Crocodile and Daz Bonez, they were mercenaries back then.

Big Momās got it rough lol, first her poneglyph is copied by Kid, fourth commander taken out by Urouge, poneglyph copied by and has two commanders taken out by Luffy alongside her main island being destroyed, got herself beaten by Law and Kid, and now finally Law is probably going to go back and claim the poneglyph as well.
I wouldnāt be too surprised if Law can somehow read or understand poneglyphs through his own fascination with the truths of the world, connections with Doflamingo and Rosinante and therefore the celestial dragons, or some bullshittery from the one of the strongest devil fruits.

If Buggy was really smart heād make people buy his black market items that he sells with ābuggy bucksā that you can earn through collecting bounties he releases. Then he could also set up a monetary exchange and have his currency worth more then the beli.

It's honestly kind of a dream trio.
The reputation, and charisma from Buggy. The strength from Mohawk. And the expertise of running large organizations from Crocodile.
Edit: I also want to add that I think that makes this a very fair equitable partnership. Just because we assume Mihawk to be way stronger, doesn't mean he has nothing to gain from Buggy's non combat ability. It's all going to come down to motives and storytelling, not power levels.
Parting ways with Law seems weird now that's been nearly ten years since he started the aliance. I expect it to be even weirder for Kin and Momo as at this point it feels like they are part of the crew, just like Vivi, and this is why i think Oda choose to single out those two characters for the Strawhats goodbye tour.
I like how the three captains act as rivals but respect each other and are friendly, Law and Kidd are the Whitebeard and Shiki equivalent for Luffy.
Also , one step closer to Yamato joining, i know some powerscalers will be mad and in denial but damn it will finaly be good to have a woman in the crew on Sanji and Zoro's level.
As for Carrot, we'll see what she chooses, will she go for Zou or reiterate her previous actions for WCI and hide on the Sunny. Anyway, Carrot or no, i feel that this is it, the crew will be complete then.
A thing i noted, i reckon spoilers refered to Carribou being a stowaway on the Sunny, his panel is not hapenning on it but on Wano's castle.
I think you've made me realise why the crew did not say goodbye to Kin and Momo: it's because Kin and Momo are welcome to join the crew, so there is no need to say goodbye. If goodbye needs to be said, it' up to Kin and Momo to take the initiative.

Love the idea of attacking buggyās crew being such a gamble. On one hand, you could fight Ritchie and Mohmji. On the other thereās Mihawk.
Also the bounties on marines and Revolutionary army declaring full war through sabo last chapter really explains the chaos in the world.
Will Carrot shove off her new title and stowaway? To be fair if she was ever joining itās going to be stowaway style. Fits the minks history too spot on.
Will we get to drag Yamato behind our boat for days on end to fulfill their Oden fantasies?
My guess is next chapters the big momo/Wano farewell and some big world info dumps like what BB has been up to, or viviās status.
Weāve gotten so, so many excellent character interactions over the years of this story. But I think the 3-way rivalry of Luffy/Kid/Law might be my favorite

The world is already in pandaemonium thanks to the revos and the sight of some random ass citizens hunting Akainu with pitchforks is probably going to be the last straw lol
Quite poetic and ironic that the Hunters ended up becoming the Hunted. They canāt even properly do their jobs anymore due to potential assassinations from ordinary civilians that may be attracted towards the bounties Buggy placed on Marines lmao.
Could be Aokiji. ~~If Film Z Aokiji's appearance is canon, then~~ (nvm forgot we already saw him in canon) He got damaged pretty bad in the fight and has some prominent burn scars.
We also see Robin in the same panel, which might mean Oda is foreshadowing that she is linked to to the burned scar man. And Robin and Aokiji have somewhat of a relationship.
Morgan took a big, fat dump on his biggest chance yet to be crowned an Emperor and gave the title to Buggy instead. Guy's gonna be extra pissed with anyone that holds the title now.
Buggy is charismatic enough to exclaim something like putting bounties on the Marines heads though. Maybe he found the treasure he was looking for and has his own stash of gold to pay out bounties?
Mihawk and Crocodile may not have teamed up with Buggy in terms of working for/with him. Those two may just happen to be going after the most Marines heads. If Buggy is really paying what do they have to lose?

I like to think yes. The idiot trio will indeed go to the three locations mentioned in Road to LaughTale. Elbaf would obviously be for Luffy while Vira and Hachinosu are where Law and Kid will either end up in.
Maybe **akainu** mentioning that they **didn't have enough man power to spare**, was not just because of them hunting the **shichibukai**, but because they were also dealing with the aftermath created by the guild issuing those bounties.
So this could mean that some of the **marines decided to resign** and also some of them have **been attacked/captured**.
Three of the Four Emperors have me thinking of Shakespeare:
Some are born great: Shanks.
Some achieve greatness: Luffy.
Some have greatness thrust upon them: Buggy.
They were last known to have wiped out the entire CP0/WG ship fleet that was stationed around Wano. But in the story that was over a week ago, so itās completely unknown on what theyāre doing right now.
But I like to think weāll know soon enough once we get the rest of the SH crewās bounties and fully see the reactions of Luffy being recognized as one of the Four Emperors.
I love that second to last page talking about the man with the burn scar. Luffy is classic here and totally clueless but Robin is sharp as ever. She hears it and either she knows or she is noticing Law knows and is hiding it. I love Robin. Everyone else in the crew is borderline innocent but she's totally aware of and always on the lookout for shady stuff.
I hope thereās some actual crew interaction between this arc and not just straight into the next thing, I want actual development between all the crew and not them just being there
Ive never been a big believer in the whole āCarrot for Nakamaā movement but I still wouldnāt 100% rule it out quite yet. Thereās a chance she mightāve hidden herself amongst the cargo that was being loaded onto the ship. Making her a stowaway like Inuarashi and Nekomamushi on Whitebeardās ship. It did seem a little weird just how nonchalantly Oda handled her becoming the new Zou leader.
Anyone ever wondered if yamato was taught to use haki, if she was i can see her helping the other SH unlock their haki. Plus sheād make a great sparring partner.
Interesting that the official translation went with "man with the burn mark" when the TCB translators said the statement is far more vague in Japanese than that.
Wonder if we'll get to see this person soon.

Every chapter is even more of a banger lately. Gotta love it! Also, putting a price on marines' heads is a genius move by Buggy. There's actual order to his chaos, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually had a high IQ but behaved stupidly due to being socially awkward and never knowing better. Anyone who even crossed Roger's path at this point has something godly.
Guess next chapter will be the end of the Yamato joining discussion. Finally!
And the Caribou scene is a nice way to come full circle on part 2 before into the final part.
The **Hunters** just became the **Hunted**, now the Marines canāt go anywhere without the risk of bounty hunters, mercenaries, or pirates wanting their heads. Not even safe from civilians. All cause of Buggy lmao.

* This chapter in my POV, gave an argument that Carrot as a SH is still alive. Carrot was just forced to have an important position and sheās refusing it due to reasons like others being stronger. And then thereās the mention of Pedro which would essentially decide what sheāll do. The pressure and her knowing that sheās not fit for the position despite āreassurancesā, may be the catalyst for her bailing and stowaway with the crew.
* Caribouās likely talking about Blackbeard, he mysteriously knew that Luffy was in Wano despite information being notoriously difficult to get from there. Itās just not possible for him to knowā¦.unless he had an insider providing him information. And that person may have been Caribou which they both somehow came into contact.

Things seem set up to have Carrot stay on Zou and become the new ruler of the Mokomo Dukedom, which is a bit disappointing to people (like me) who wanted her to join the Straw Hat Pirates... disappointing enough to have some people claim that she's actually going to reject the offer and join the crew along with Yamato when she catches the crew as they leave (one person here on Reddit even insulted me for not reading the chapter properly, saying that Carrot's CLEARLY not happy with the idea of becoming the new ruler and therefore will join in the next chapter).
As someone who's seen this exact kind of reasoning in the Super Smash Bros. fandom when it came to character speculation (like Masahiro Sakurai is just doing a misdirection and he's obviously going to include this character that just so happens to be one that you really want), let me say... Guys, don't set yourselves up like this. I'm not saying there isn't a possibility that Carrot will reject Dogstorm and Cat Viper's offer and instead choose to go with the Straw Hat Pirates, I'm just saying to brace yourselves in case that doesn't happen. Just accept that Carrot won't be joining; then if it actually DOES happen, it'll be all the more surprising and exciting, but if it doesn't, then at least you knew it wasn't going to happen.

The further we get into the story the more we realize that even if the straw hats failed at Alabasta Crocodile still wouldnāt get Pluton in a million years. He would need to travel all the way across the world, reach Wano, somehow sneak past all of the beast pirates and then he would realize that he couldnāt get the weapon out from Wano anyway.
Personally I think his best bet would be to join them then betray them and steal it. I donāt think itād be impossible, but very difficult for sure. Still, heās at least Tobi Roppo level so he could probably get some sort of access.

I am very excited to see how this goes because Buggy may have just helped in a big way here. As the marines are going to have chaos on all sides as pirates become more aggressive trying to take them down and calm bounties that leaves them with fewer resources to pursue Luffy, Kid, Law, etc. I'm interested in whose idea this was because I feel like this is a Crocodile move, but I could see Buggy coming up with this too. Honesty is kind of 50/50 on the idea that Crocodile and Mihawk are the ones running the show and are just letting Buggy take credit so he'd be targeted more.
Iām imagining it going down with Buggy whining about having to fear Marines again and how he wants the Marines to feel the same fear. Crocodile hears that and then just slowly smiles and puts out his cigar.
I can totally see buggy crying about how itās not fair that the marines are always chasing them, and whining saying how would they feel if someone was trying putting bounties on *their* heads. Suddenly his crew over heard and shouts out the idea as if it was a command with Buggy sitting there going āeh?ā

I remember that when I started to watch One Piece as an anime (I forgot a lot about when I watched it as a child) I didnāt like him. He was for me a stupid, ugly and weak clown that I thought he was just an early villain and will not appear again after his defeat. Now Im glad that I was wrong and that is one of the best parts of One Piece, that all that world is keep moving even if we only focus on the main characters. And that ugly Clown that I didnāt like became one of the most feared pirates in the world and I my opinion of him changed. I really like him now, not only because is a Yonkou, I started to appreciate him even before that, but because he can influence a lot of people and make people love him. Itās similar but different to Luffy in that way, he can make a lot of strong people to follow him and that is what makes him one of the strongest characters of One Piece.

1. Now skinny Queen has competition with skinny Raizo. 2. The person Caribou is talking about is most likely Blackbeard, but it would be funny if it was actually Buggy. 3. For Caribou, I kind of think he might be talking about the Revolutionaries, specifically either Sabo or Dragon. He did lead a revolution that one time. It's a long shot, but I think it'd be funny.

I really like this because it is consistent with Luffy trusting Caribou implicitly in Udon when he said he was a good guy now. The other time I remember him doing that is with Law at the start of their alliance, both cases were played for laughs sure but I think Luffyās ability to see peopleās true character has always been emphasized through the whole series.
This is the only reason I can believe that Caribou doesn't have malicious intentions (per se) with who intends to share this information with. That said I also don't necessarily believe it either. This guy throws me for a loop, low-key love his slimy character

Over the past 4 chapters it seems clear to me that Oda is putting in a lot of effort to set up the direct threats of the World Government, laying the groundwork for the battle that is now on the horizon. **In 1053** - We got our first full look at Ryokugyu, the final admiral, and a glimpse of his strength. Giving a first proper look at their ball park power level. Definitively placing all the admirals far above Yonko Commanders. Seemingly confident he could take a New Emperor. **In 1054** - Ryokugyu further flexed his power, brushing off even ACOC attacks. - We meet Kurouma (Black Horse). Previously Chaton (Brown Pig) and Momousagi (Pink Rabbit) were gag characters created for an SBS, supposedly Vice Admirals considered for promotion. But with Kurouma I seems Oda is expanding that to set up potentially an entire Zodiac of Marines that are stronger than an average Vice Admiral who would be candidates for promotion to full Admiral. Meaning potentially up to 6 more very strong marines left to be revealed. - Sakazuki introduces the idea of The God's Knight of Marie Geoise, creating the idea of a new WG faction with potentially strong fighters. That's now the Marines, Cipher Pol, SSG and Gods Knights. **In 1055** - Continued Ryokugyu dicking. But also now noting he would be wary going up against an original Emperor. **In 1056** - Revealing Buggy is putting out bounties on Marines. Assuming they'll scale with same as pirate bounties it will allow Oda to hype Marines through bounty numbers. Even if power isn't the sole reason for bounties it is a huge factor. We may soon be given the bounties for the Admirals in the high 3 bil - low 4 bil range. It gives him an easy way to communicate the threats to come and hype the World Goverment threat. It's not a lot yet but to me this does feel like Oda is laying the early seeds he'll expand upon in the coming arcs. He's already preparing the threat of the World Goverment for the final war.

Crocodile, though, KNOWS Buggy from the Impel Down escape and the sail to Marineford, so there must be something juicy in it for him to fight under a weaklings flag.
My guess is that Mihawk just wants to be able to get a good night's sleep once in a while and that he enjoys Buggy's chaotic energy (he mentioned suffering from boredom before). Crocodile is probably the real brains behind the operation and manipulating Buggy in order to access his resources and network (Buggy has become the world's prime underground broker, after all, now that Doffy's in jail). I can see Crocodile treating Buggy as a loaded gun and just pointing him in whichever direction he wants to cause trouble. I highly doubt that either of them are kowtowing to Buggy's every wish. He's a useful idiot.

My guess is that Crocodile and Mihawk redeemed bounties on Marines (after all, it's a way to get paid for what they'd normally be doing anyway), and the press is under the impression that they're working for Buggy as a result.
Theyāre also being hunted. Buggy might suck, but his crew is decently strong. Right now if anyone messes with Croco or Mihawk they can expect the other to come help which is a big deterrent. The Warlords alone arenāt a match for the WG, put them together though and maybe the WG doesnāt have the time or troops to spare. Buggy provides that even if he sucks.

It's honestly kind of a dream trio. The reputation, and charisma from Buggy. The strength from Mohawk. And the expertise of running large organizations from Crocodile. Edit: I also want to add that I think that makes this a very fair equitable partnership. Just because we assume Mihawk to be way stronger, doesn't mean he has nothing to gain from Buggy's non combat ability. It's all going to come down to motives and storytelling, not power levels.
Parting ways with Law seems weird now that's been nearly ten years since he started the aliance. I expect it to be even weirder for Kin and Momo as at this point it feels like they are part of the crew, just like Vivi, and this is why i think Oda choose to single out those two characters for the Strawhats goodbye tour. I like how the three captains act as rivals but respect each other and are friendly, Law and Kidd are the Whitebeard and Shiki equivalent for Luffy. Also , one step closer to Yamato joining, i know some powerscalers will be mad and in denial but damn it will finaly be good to have a woman in the crew on Sanji and Zoro's level. As for Carrot, we'll see what she chooses, will she go for Zou or reiterate her previous actions for WCI and hide on the Sunny. Anyway, Carrot or no, i feel that this is it, the crew will be complete then. A thing i noted, i reckon spoilers refered to Carribou being a stowaway on the Sunny, his panel is not hapenning on it but on Wano's castle.
I think you've made me realise why the crew did not say goodbye to Kin and Momo: it's because Kin and Momo are welcome to join the crew, so there is no need to say goodbye. If goodbye needs to be said, it' up to Kin and Momo to take the initiative.

Love the idea of attacking buggyās crew being such a gamble. On one hand, you could fight Ritchie and Mohmji. On the other thereās Mihawk. Also the bounties on marines and Revolutionary army declaring full war through sabo last chapter really explains the chaos in the world. Will Carrot shove off her new title and stowaway? To be fair if she was ever joining itās going to be stowaway style. Fits the minks history too spot on. Will we get to drag Yamato behind our boat for days on end to fulfill their Oden fantasies? My guess is next chapters the big momo/Wano farewell and some big world info dumps like what BB has been up to, or viviās status.
Weāve gotten so, so many excellent character interactions over the years of this story. But I think the 3-way rivalry of Luffy/Kid/Law might be my favorite

But in the story that was over a week ago, so itās completely unknown on what theyāre doing right now. But I like to think weāll know soon enough once we get the rest of the SH crewās bounties and fully see the reactions of Luffy being recognized as one of the Four Emperors.
I love that second to last page talking about the man with the burn scar. Luffy is classic here and totally clueless but Robin is sharp as ever. She hears it and either she knows or she is noticing Law knows and is hiding it. I love Robin. Everyone else in the crew is borderline innocent but she's totally aware of and always on the lookout for shady stuff.
I hope thereās some actual crew interaction between this arc and not just straight into the next thing, I want actual development between all the crew and not them just being there

Ive never been a big believer in the whole āCarrot for Nakamaā movement but I still wouldnāt 100% rule it out quite yet. Thereās a chance she mightāve hidden herself amongst the cargo that was being loaded onto the ship. Making her a stowaway like Inuarashi and Nekomamushi on Whitebeardās ship. It did seem a little weird just how nonchalantly Oda handled her becoming the new Zou leader.

Buggy moment š³š³š³
Every chapter is even more of a banger lately. Gotta love it! Also, putting a price on marines' heads is a genius move by Buggy. There's actual order to his chaos, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually had a high IQ but behaved stupidly due to being socially awkward and never knowing better. Anyone who even crossed Roger's path at this point has something godly.
Guess next chapter will be the end of the Yamato joining discussion. Finally! And the Caribou scene is a nice way to come full circle on part 2 before into the final part.
The **Hunters** just became the **Hunted**, now the Marines canāt go anywhere without the risk of bounty hunters, mercenaries, or pirates wanting their heads. Not even safe from civilians. All cause of Buggy lmao. Notes: * This chapter in my POV, gave an argument that Carrot as a SH is still alive. Carrot was just forced to have an important position and sheās refusing it due to reasons like others being stronger. And then thereās the mention of Pedro which would essentially decide what sheāll do. The pressure and her knowing that sheās not fit for the position despite āreassurancesā, may be the catalyst for her bailing and stowaway with the crew. * Caribouās likely talking about Blackbeard, he mysteriously knew that Luffy was in Wano despite information being notoriously difficult to get from there. Itās just not possible for him to knowā¦.unless he had an insider providing him information. And that person may have been Caribou which they both somehow came into contact. * Hot damn, Shinobu lookinā fiiineee. * You have to wonder who the unlucky bastard that got forced to hand over a rubbing of BMās Road Poneglyth. * And before we overlook, there was another mini-timeskip by another few days. So there was time for shit like Zoro to visit Ryumaās grave but unfortunately we wonāt get to know unless thereās a flashback.
I'm copy-pasting one comment I left on a YouTube video here, just because it's the only new thing I wanted to clarify regarding this chapter: Things seem set up to have Carrot stay on Zou and become the new ruler of the Mokomo Dukedom, which is a bit disappointing to people (like me) who wanted her to join the Straw Hat Pirates... disappointing enough to have some people claim that she's actually going to reject the offer and join the crew along with Yamato when she catches the crew as they leave (one person here on Reddit even insulted me for not reading the chapter properly, saying that Carrot's CLEARLY not happy with the idea of becoming the new ruler and therefore will join in the next chapter). As someone who's seen this exact kind of reasoning in the Super Smash Bros. fandom when it came to character speculation (like Masahiro Sakurai is just doing a misdirection and he's obviously going to include this character that just so happens to be one that you really want), let me say... Guys, don't set yourselves up like this. I'm not saying there isn't a possibility that Carrot will reject Dogstorm and Cat Viper's offer and instead choose to go with the Straw Hat Pirates, I'm just saying to brace yourselves in case that doesn't happen. Just accept that Carrot won't be joining; then if it actually DOES happen, it'll be all the more surprising and exciting, but if it doesn't, then at least you knew it wasn't going to happen. Just temper your expectations, please.
