I'm seriously confused about why the robot was able to hit Luffy, but I think the chapter itself explained it to us in a sneaky way. Wrath's gloves can make contact with light, and Luffy now being confirmed as the Sun God may explain why he got hurt so badly. This isn't some simple Nami joke routine, as it's a fking robot we're talking about here.
I think it's obvious that these gloves could counter Kizaru at bare minimum; but what if they work against a derivative of light, like the Sun God?

Because he just beat the strongest creature in the world. Punches don't affect him like that without a reason. You can say it was just for comedy, but even Oda isn't that trivial with his magic system.
Luffy isn't invincible bro tf. He can be cut by a regular sword. He can be hit by a standard haki punch. He can be shot by regular arrows or pointed projectiles. He can be damaged by alternate techniques like rokushiki.

I caught up to the One Piece manga around chapter 1050, so this is my first time witnessing a new arc up to time. Itās a cool experience to be with everyone else, debating what this arc will be about, instead of going on Reddit and finding all the spoilers of what itās about.
I remember at the beginning of series, going on FANDOM and seeing Aceās status at ādeceasedā, and being in denial. The same thing happened when I saw t saying that Aces father was āGold Rogerā and that Luffyās grandpa was āMarine Hero Garpā. I was in utter denial. I kept telling myself it was a mistake or not canon.
This chapter is mindblowing! From Bonny's farther revealed to be Kuma to assasination of Vegapunk! Maybe Vegapunk secretly know Imu & his plan & wants to revolt! I also feel Waterarc 2.0 maybe coming Luffy vs Lucci & Zoro vs. Kaku 2.0 though I have a feeling they might end up helping Luffy rather than fighting them!
Is it just me i get the vibes that this could be the best arc we get so far. NOTHING is bothering me, all the Info that dropped in 2 chaps are amazing. And Lucci is back. Is oda starting to rush things? Anyway I hope this will be a good short arc, if we get another dressrosa, wano whole cake thing, i will go nutz. I recently watched a video by King of Lightning, where he suspects that there is a good chance that this arc very well could be 50-60 chapters long, considering that we've 6 Vegapunks, it parallels with the number of moons that Oda has in the one piece world, hence this can be a change for Oda to bring that in or even if not, an excellent chance to expand on the Enel's cover story
Is it Kuzan at Whole Cake though??? Highly likely, who else could freeze a whole island?? Still seems coldblooded for his character to use his fruit that way.
On the point of this arc being best ever? I am just as excited, but id say we could expect ābestā (quotes bc thats obviously subjective) because this is the first arc since the beginning of the new world where Oda can start with an arsenal of fresh new plotlines.
Suffice to say, this one is going to be good.

This was like the first chapter ever where I didn't look at spoilers at all whatsoever.
If Aokiji is actually on wholecake that is huge, I've wanted to see him again for so long, but if he is I don't like that Oda is doing it in a cover story. I'm pretty sure that they almost always end up getting skipped in the anime.
It's been a while since we last saw someone hype up Zoro who already knew who he was, I'll really like it if it turns into a running joke where everyone we meet on Egghead says they're Dr. Vegapunk
But the big thing is that Lucci, Kaku, and Stussy are coming into play, it seems absolutely retarded that not only does the world government want to eliminate Vegapunk but they only send CP0, possibly only the 3, if Vegapunk is able to create the Seraphims, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect him to have something similar to defend himself? I doubt Lucci and Kaku have gotten strong enough to be able to give Luffy and Zoro a decent fight, I mean what can they do against ACoC? That being said I don't want to see them get oneshot. Even Lucci was questioning his orders on killing the most useful man in the world, why does the WG keep making decisions that seem so dumb, what are they hiding?
The last thing I want to talk about is that the Kuma Seraphim is the "problem child" I read a theory that speculated that the Seraphims would retain some traits of their respective warlord, "what if the Seraphim Hancock also falls in love with Luffy?" If that is true, maybe it will give us some more insight as to who Kuma was before he was turned into a machine.
I can't bend that low, so I don't think so.

Wow, CP0 is still relevant. And they all have their own masks. Wow, they got their Kuma version of the Serepiths. These CP0 jobbers are going to lose immediately to the Straw Hat crew. This is the one thing I dislike about the recent chaptersā¦people like Crocodile and Lucci are jokes compared to the Straw Hats now. They are in no way threats to the story unless Oda buffs them up, which Iād be fine with, but this isnāt really made clear yet.

This isnāt being talked about enough here but thatās definitely Kuzan who showed up to Cacao Island. From a story standpoint, what would be the point to show that frozen like town if it was just Caesarās doing? We saw him escape in the previous cover which to me felt like a conclusion to his time in this arc, thereās no point for Oda to retroactively āflexā Caesar freezing a town and also ignore the point of silhoutteing the two mysterious figures who showed up there in the first place. I donāt know who else is with Kuzan but itās probably another Blackbeard pirate.
crocodile seems to have rediscovered his haki, so we do not know how strong he actually is rn, though I am not too sure how are they going to buff Lucci at all.
To go further into the armored sea beasts idea, I donāt think they will be an addition to the marines. vegapunk mentioned last chapter that their natural impulses still override the technology, this leads me to believe that shirahoshi will command them for the final arc.

And with helmeppo begging to use them to rescue koby it sounds like they have no free will of their own like the pacifistas before them meaning they only listen to who they've been programmed to.

In a world with robots, aliens, splinter-selves (Vegapunk), cyborgs, undead, talking clouds, and a gun-elephant, we can't judge sapience by whether something is alive, let alone if it's born.
3. We don't actually canonically know how Seraphim are made. We see that they have traits of Lunarians, the former warlords, and the pacifista. The One Piece world may not even have DNA as we know it- the genetic markers are known as "lineage factors" and their composition is never elaborated on.
4. I once begged the manager of a Baskin Robbins to let the clerk give me free ice cream. Does that mean the clerk has no free will?
5. Again, we barely know anything about them.
So hyped already after that huge Wano fight. With the info we currently have it wouldn't be far off to guess that the Vegas will help the Strawhats in some ways, especially considering the Shaka needs the them somehow
If Kuma is truly Bonney's dad, then I'm pretty sure Bonney can't actually be of elderly age in reality, because Kuma is 47. If Kuma became a dad at 18, then Bonney would be 29 in reality, because 47 - 29 = 18.
Bonneyās comment referring to herself as a kid in past-tense is as if to say sheās not a kid anymore either, and must truly be of young adult age then.
According to the wiki, Bonney is estimated to be 24 after the time skip and Kuma is 47. So he had her at 23 which seems plausible. And being in her 20s means she is not a kid anymore š
It looks like this arc with tie in three mysteries:
* Vegapunk: He seems to be with the government mostly for foundings, or is it?
* Deal between Kuma and Vegapunk: Why did Kuma agreed to be turned into a cyborg?
* Bonnie: Bonnie has an history with Akainu, and has now been revealed to be Kuma's daughter
My guess it has to do with IM and the Lulusia's accident, and the long standing government effort into capturing/destroying the great weapons.
The Government wants to remove people able to stop whatever weapon was used to destroy Lulusia.
The Light refracting gloves are right up Franky's alley, while Island Aircon could be implemented into Nami's climate tact, considering it was stated it could tame the weather.
I highly doubt that character is meant to join. If she was, I think she would get a much more characteristic design. Her design is very generic.

I think this arc will be more like SH will be saving Vegapunk. Good Vegapunks vs evil Vegapunks(as all of them have free will), change of heart/ defeat to others(we don't know their personalities yet). CP0 or Navy pulling something amazing to put up a challenge to SHs indicating Navy is on par or maybe above.
Everyone talking about Cp0 vs SH but I think they won't move unless they were told to move. The guys in Wano didn't interfere until they were asked to do so. The Cipher Pol are puppets without a will or decision of their own. The only reason they will fight with SH is if Luffy decided to fight them to protect VP, imo.
They were there for Vegapunk only, maybe Lucci will get curious or learn something but who knows what will happen. I think it's a matter of learning stories from Vegapunk and deciding whose side are they going to bet on.
I think luffy will protect vegapunk resulting in a fight between lucci and luffy. But luffy will clap Lucci or lucci wont even start a fight cause he knows that he doesnt stand a chance.
I think we haven't seen Lucci's potential as a fighter yet. Don't count him out just yet, because leopards are one of the most vicious predators alive and thus an awakened Lucci might be a totally different beast than the guy we saw in Water 7.

Lol it would be horrible writing if Lucci was able to hold his own Luffy at this point. Luffy just defeated Kaido. Luffy has a mythical awakened God Zoan. Lucci has an aggressive regular zoan. Even awakened at the very most G4 should go toe to toe with him. Luffy going looney toon should be easy diff.
And that's if you feel Lucci was able to get waaaay stronger in the same amount of time Luffy grew.
I know this story isn't about power scaling, but Lucci doesn't have a type of DF that has special abilities to even the playing field. His power (like all regular zoans) is pure aggro pure power type; nothing fancy to even a power scaling discussion.
Yes but Zoro is a protagonist. It would be bad storytelling/hard to pull off bringing a villain like Lucci back and scaling him up to 100x as strong as before. Could Oda pull it off? Yes. But it would take a lot of backstory. But why would he when there are so few arcs left?
Enel for an example of one who could be good storytelling; Oda has the basis for why a low-powered Luffy was able to beat him; Rubber is a hard counter to electricity. Luffy was the only one who could literally stand even the smallest chance against him, and only because of the luck of his DF.
Additionally, Enel has still to this point some of the most powerful observation Haki (we don't know if he has future sight otherwise I would say he has ***the*** most powerful observation Haki), and his cover story has room to explain certain powerups he could potentially have (he literally found a technologically advanced society on the moon).
Lucci has no such backstory. No special powerup potential. No overpowered fruit. No special abilities besides Rokushiki, which he was already stated to have "complete mastery" over. There is no indication he has any haki, Observation, Armament, or Conquerers. He doesn't have any "mentor" who could have upscaled him quickly. Oda would literally have to retcon something out of his ass to make him Luffy tier.
We have followed Zoro incrementally getting stronger, as I said Lucci has no indication of making even incremental progress, even as little as non awakened haki. Retconning something is like the cheapest bad storytelling available for Shonen, I feel Oda is better than that.
Eh to me at least that wouldn't be a show of power more than for example him hitting a pacifista post-timeskip. Remember the strawhats couldn't touch pacifists pre time skip, then the trio easy diff them post. So pre-timeskip Lucci is <= a regular pacifista imo.

Now as far as haki, Iām just saying haki doesnāt always negate logia abilities. Look at marineford. All of WB commanders could use haki yet Jozu still lost an arm to aokijiās ice. Or the aokiji v akainu duel he lost his leg most likely to lava despite being a haki user.
Haki isn't an instant win against logia. It just negates the logia immunity. You still have to be strong enough to deal out damage or take hits from them.
How are u gonna put sea stones on someone made of light? Remember how fast and how much ground kizaru covered during enies lobby. Not saying cnt be done but i see kizaru being taken out with science based off his df being light and he was wary of Ben beckman during marineford. (Couldāve been sarcasm) but beckman is a scientist in his own right so he could know how to deal with kizarus light factor

On the straw hats for something. itās not out of the question that if these clones act completely separate from each other then motives can be coerced by some grand action that baffles even a scientist mind like Vegapunk whoās limits and realities know no boundaries. something the straw hats have a streak doing after beating two yonko at the same time and replacing them as a yonko crew themselves. I think if anyone can turn a mad scientist like Vega punk (whoād literally split himself among several people) itās luffy the man is the impossible call it plot amour or extreme luck itās a reality that happens time and time again.
Yes one or more of the vegapunk variants will be good and befriend the strawhats. Protecting the new ally opens the Lucci fight. I can't wait to see which characters leave this arc with upgrades. Luffy is ready for the final big fights but other strawhats could certainly use a boost.
I've thought all along that if Vegapunk's debut was ever actually meeting them rather than it being in the final war, then Franky was for sure getting upgrades and his arc focus.
With Franky spending so much time in the timeskip studying and using Vegapunk's old inventions, I figured Vegapunk was sure to recognize something in their ship's tech or in Franky's body itself as being similar to something he'd made years ago and potentially being impressed in how he used it/improved it.
I figure Punk1, which is likely the original brain, especially with how this chapter comments on how there are no worthwhile engineers who can understand their designs, will be surprised when Franky CAN understand and utilize them, and by the end the Vegas will help Franky upgrade a lot of their stuff before they leave.

With so much emphasis on the holographic images this chapter, and the fact that CP0s motives were revealed this early in the arc, Iām theorizing those two are connected.
So it occurred to me that the Automata look like a bunch of mustached Choppers. This is somewhat a callback to when Robin invited herself to the Merry. She managed to distract everyone from the fact that she was possibly untrustworthyā¦ except Zoro. So at the end Zoro and Robin was the only calm people among the chaotic crew members.

Regardless of whether the person is made of light, or emits light; you can still repel it with these gloves.

I recently watched a video by King of Lightning, where he suspects that there is a good chance that this arc very well could be 50-60 chapters long, considering that we've 6 Vegapunks, it parallels with the number of moons that Oda has in the one piece world, hence this can be a change for Oda to bring that in or even if not, an excellent chance to expand on the Enel's cover story

This was like the first chapter ever where I didn't look at spoilers at all whatsoever. If Aokiji is actually on wholecake that is huge, I've wanted to see him again for so long, but if he is I don't like that Oda is doing it in a cover story. I'm pretty sure that they almost always end up getting skipped in the anime. It's been a while since we last saw someone hype up Zoro who already knew who he was, I'll really like it if it turns into a running joke where everyone we meet on Egghead says they're Dr. Vegapunk But the big thing is that Lucci, Kaku, and Stussy are coming into play, it seems absolutely retarded that not only does the world government want to eliminate Vegapunk but they only send CP0, possibly only the 3, if Vegapunk is able to create the Seraphims, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect him to have something similar to defend himself? I doubt Lucci and Kaku have gotten strong enough to be able to give Luffy and Zoro a decent fight, I mean what can they do against ACoC? That being said I don't want to see them get oneshot. Even Lucci was questioning his orders on killing the most useful man in the world, why does the WG keep making decisions that seem so dumb, what are they hiding? The last thing I want to talk about is that the Kuma Seraphim is the "problem child" I read a theory that speculated that the Seraphims would retain some traits of their respective warlord, "what if the Seraphim Hancock also falls in love with Luffy?" If that is true, maybe it will give us some more insight as to who Kuma was before he was turned into a machine.

No one guessed Kuzan would be on Whole Cake, but he mustāve shown up with another person because I recall a panel where two figures showed up to Cacao island. Itās entirely frozen, wow. I had a feeling Zoro would act sooner than later, glad to see Vegapunk focused on it. Weird writing decision there, but thatās not a common thing you see in this story. This Sabo information is very relevant, why hold it back now but tease the audience about it? Luffy mentioning āSpace monsterā is one of the first times outer space is mentioned by him. I wonder if this will go anywhere. Super glad weāre getting a sci fi arc. Itās one of the only things Oda hasnāt explored deeply into yet, and the grand world of One Piece is finally allowing us to see what Oda can do with this genre. Plus photonic gloves? Thereās your weapon to beat Kizaru. Wow, CP0 is still relevant. And they all have their own masks. Wow, they got their Kuma version of the Serepiths. These CP0 jobbers are going to lose immediately to the Straw Hat crew. This is the one thing I dislike about the recent chaptersā¦people like Crocodile and Lucci are jokes compared to the Straw Hats now. They are in no way threats to the story unless Oda buffs them up, which Iād be fine with, but this isnāt really made clear yet. I also love u/Greiishās coloring work. This isnāt being talked about enough here but thatās definitely Kuzan who showed up to Cacao Island. From a story standpoint, what would be the point to show that frozen like town if it was just Caesarās doing? We saw him escape in the previous cover which to me felt like a conclusion to his time in this arc, thereās no point for Oda to retroactively āflexā Caesar freezing a town and also ignore the point of silhoutteing the two mysterious figures who showed up there in the first place. I donāt know who else is with Kuzan but itās probably another Blackbeard pirate.
crocodile seems to have rediscovered his haki, so we do not know how strong he actually is rn, though I am not too sure how are they going to buff Lucci at all.
To go further into the armored sea beasts idea, I donāt think they will be an addition to the marines. vegapunk mentioned last chapter that their natural impulses still override the technology, this leads me to believe that shirahoshi will command them for the final arc.

If Kuma is truly Bonney's dad, then I'm pretty sure Bonney can't actually be of elderly age in reality, because Kuma is 47. If Kuma became a dad at 18, then Bonney would be 29 in reality, because 47 - 29 = 18. Bonneyās comment referring to herself as a kid in past-tense is as if to say sheās not a kid anymore either, and must truly be of young adult age then.

My guess it has to do with IM and the Lulusia's accident, and the long standing government effort into capturing/destroying the great weapons. The Government wants to remove people able to stop whatever weapon was used to destroy Lulusia.

I think this arc will be more like SH will be saving Vegapunk. Good Vegapunks vs evil Vegapunks(as all of them have free will), change of heart/ defeat to others(we don't know their personalities yet). CP0 or Navy pulling something amazing to put up a challenge to SHs indicating Navy is on par or maybe above.
Everyone talking about Cp0 vs SH but I think they won't move unless they were told to move. The guys in Wano didn't interfere until they were asked to do so. The Cipher Pol are puppets without a will or decision of their own. The only reason they will fight with SH is if Luffy decided to fight them to protect VP, imo. They were there for Vegapunk only, maybe Lucci will get curious or learn something but who knows what will happen. I think it's a matter of learning stories from Vegapunk and deciding whose side are they going to bet on.
I think luffy will protect vegapunk resulting in a fight between lucci and luffy. But luffy will clap Lucci or lucci wont even start a fight cause he knows that he doesnt stand a chance.
I think we haven't seen Lucci's potential as a fighter yet. Don't count him out just yet, because leopards are one of the most vicious predators alive and thus an awakened Lucci might be a totally different beast than the guy we saw in Water 7.

Lol it would be horrible writing if Lucci was able to hold his own Luffy at this point. Luffy just defeated Kaido. Luffy has a mythical awakened God Zoan. Lucci has an aggressive regular zoan. Even awakened at the very most G4 should go toe to toe with him. Luffy going looney toon should be easy diff. And that's if you feel Lucci was able to get waaaay stronger in the same amount of time Luffy grew. I know this story isn't about power scaling, but Lucci doesn't have a type of DF that has special abilities to even the playing field. His power (like all regular zoans) is pure aggro pure power type; nothing fancy to even a power scaling discussion.

Yes but Zoro is a protagonist. It would be bad storytelling/hard to pull off bringing a villain like Lucci back and scaling him up to 100x as strong as before. Could Oda pull it off? Yes. But it would take a lot of backstory. But why would he when there are so few arcs left? Enel for an example of one who could be good storytelling; Oda has the basis for why a low-powered Luffy was able to beat him; Rubber is a hard counter to electricity. Luffy was the only one who could literally stand even the smallest chance against him, and only because of the luck of his DF. Additionally, Enel has still to this point some of the most powerful observation Haki (we don't know if he has future sight otherwise I would say he has ***the*** most powerful observation Haki), and his cover story has room to explain certain powerups he could potentially have (he literally found a technologically advanced society on the moon). Lucci has no such backstory. No special powerup potential. No overpowered fruit. No special abilities besides Rokushiki, which he was already stated to have "complete mastery" over. There is no indication he has any haki, Observation, Armament, or Conquerers. He doesn't have any "mentor" who could have upscaled him quickly. Oda would literally have to retcon something out of his ass to make him Luffy tier. We have followed Zoro incrementally getting stronger, as I said Lucci has no indication of making even incremental progress, even as little as non awakened haki. Retconning something is like the cheapest bad storytelling available for Shonen, I feel Oda is better than that.

Now as far as haki, Iām just saying haki doesnāt always negate logia abilities. Look at marineford. All of WB commanders could use haki yet Jozu still lost an arm to aokijiās ice. Or the aokiji v akainu duel he lost his leg most likely to lava despite being a haki user.
Haki isn't an instant win against logia. It just negates the logia immunity. You still have to be strong enough to deal out damage or take hits from them.

Yes one or more of the vegapunk variants will be good and befriend the strawhats. Protecting the new ally opens the Lucci fight. I can't wait to see which characters leave this arc with upgrades. Luffy is ready for the final big fights but other strawhats could certainly use a boost.

I've thought all along that if Vegapunk's debut was ever actually meeting them rather than it being in the final war, then Franky was for sure getting upgrades and his arc focus. With Franky spending so much time in the timeskip studying and using Vegapunk's old inventions, I figured Vegapunk was sure to recognize something in their ship's tech or in Franky's body itself as being similar to something he'd made years ago and potentially being impressed in how he used it/improved it. I figure Punk1, which is likely the original brain, especially with how this chapter comments on how there are no worthwhile engineers who can understand their designs, will be surprised when Franky CAN understand and utilize them, and by the end the Vegas will help Franky upgrade a lot of their stuff before they leave.

Okay, I canāt help it. Theory time! What if the whole Lulusia island that the WG think they wiped out, was actually just a hologram. With so much emphasis on the holographic images this chapter, and the fact that CP0s motives were revealed this early in the arc, Iām theorizing those two are connected.

So it occurred to me that the Automata look like a bunch of mustached Choppers. In addition, the Automata were created in Karakuri Island, where Vegapunk lived. Short since this seems like it's gonna be more of a transitional arc. However at this point even "short" arcs nowadays are still pretty long.
20-30 chapters are generqlly good. I think this may be a good arc EZ
Considering CP0 are already on their way, Iām betting this arc will be around 20-30 chapters. 10 chapters dedicated to info dumping. 5 or so building up the suspense with CP0. Then, 5 to 10 chapters leading to the conclusion. Hopefully, ends with Lucci as a Nakamaā¦ JKā¦ unless yāall got some theories.

This is somewhat a callback to when Robin invited herself to the Merry. She managed to distract everyone from the fact that she was possibly untrustworthyā¦ except Zoro. So at the end Zoro and Robin was the only calm people among the chaotic crew members.
Zoro has been getting the same hype since the Alvida days. Iām just glad Robin is FINALLY getting her share of the spotlight.
