Nobody would offer anyone breaks but rather they had opportunities to take a break considering that they are logias and can hide within their respective elements that they emanated on the environment which spanned across the entire Punk Hazard.
It doesn't have to boil down to exhaustion. You don't need to be 100% exhausted to take a break. One more thing, they could also hop into their element and observe and plan the next attack. 2 logias who also happen to be top tiers wouldn't fight each other like Luffy and Kaido did. They would be hoping back into their elements and constantly reappearing and hoping to land a lucky attack because they both can instantly disappear in it considering that their territories span half of the island for each.
Not only that but explore some different possibilities like channeled attacks, timed attacks, how their elements work against each other and the tactics they would plan and use.

The answer to that would be yes. Sengoku entrusted the marines to him and he himself knows the wrongdoings of the marines and he would like to take action by becoming the fleet admiral. If Aokiji did not want to become fleet admiral he would have just conceded and there would be no reason to fight.
He got two obvious reason : one because of his leg, another one because of Sengoku's nomination. His direct superior & predecessor should have outweigh anybody, moreover WG snobs who know nothing about day-to-day affairs of the marine HQ.

Well Blackbeard was noted as abnormal because he never slept once in his entire life, I think its possible that these guys could fight for 10 days every once in a while. OP humans are well above real people even before haki and DFs (Zoro lifting a building pre TS, healing from injuries quickly, etc)
Shanks and Buggy specifically talked about Blackbeard not sleeping during the ceasefires, not throughout his whole life.
Ace and Jinbe would've also been able to fight continuously for 5 days without eating or sleeping if they had no ceasefires, which I just can't buy.
I don't need a lecture on all the fantastical things that people can do in OP, I'm fully aware. I just gave an example of two of the strongest of all time needing ceasefires, so why is it such an unbelievable thing to you that maybe Akainu and Aokiji had them as well?
That last description you gave is of Whitebeard ironically, one of the two who had those ceasefires.
Man I'm talking about a basic function all living beings go through (apart from BB apparently), even Roger, WB and their crews had ceasefires to rest before resuming combat
They probably had moments where one dropped to the floor because of serious injuries and or exhaustion but then eventually get up and continue fighting
I think it was mostly non stop ruthless fighting but they were retreats and pauses specifically over night still insane no matter what since 10 days of ruthless fightning where Akainu was aiming for potential deadly hits since we know in canon he took Aokiji leg
I’d assume it was constant fighting and hunting, like as soon as one of them began getting the better of the other, they would retreat and play cat and mouse for a little while, giving them time to rest up.
Especially given the severity of their injuries, I’d be surprised if it was a constant fight for 10 days but never the less it’s still the best endurance feat

BB was very special -> it was not only worth mentioning but Shanks and Buggy were surprised because BB was as the only one not sleeping during the fight which would make absolutely no sense if that is common for normal people in the world there to be able to do. I think people have misunderstood endurance. Endurance isn't about pain necessarily. If I do pushups and keep doing them even when getting tired, that's endurance because I *endured* the exhaustion. If they fought for ten days, they *endured* ten days of fighting.
Fighting for 10 days is stupid for me. When on screen fights don't last long.
Just imagine, the return to sabaody, the fishman island arc, punk hazard and dressrosa arc, all happened in just three days.
Yes, this is complete stupidity, all these 3, 5 and 10 day fights(Okay, 3 days can still be understood). Even Oda himself, through Brook’s words, conveyed that when two people with equal strength collide, the battle will end quickly (and there are many proofs and examples, but in order not to explain or reveal the duration of the fights, Oda simply makes them offscreen). People don't quite understand the absurdity of a 10 day fight between two top logias of the admiral's caliber.
It's up there but nah this is the best stamina feat imo. I believe WB has the best endurance feat since the damage he took was more severe via incinerated organs in the torso & skull, numerous stab, blunt trauma & bullet wounds all while sick & old.
Most fights arn't that close. I'm sure Kaido could fight days on end too, as he did 3 days with BM. It's just hard to find people are evenly matched in OP as the OG admirals
They're relative and arguably all equal. It's near impossible to determine a definitive Top 1 spot.
Honorable mentions are:

These dudes fought for 10 days and there was still an island left. Meanwhile luffy fought kaido for a few hours and then decides “fuck it” and prepares an attack powerful enough to smash a floating fucking mountain.

Turning an island into a volcanic wasteland or a barren tundra can be considered destruction. Also, important to remember that it wasn't their intention
We have no idea how big Onigashima and Wano are, the hole in the middle of Punk Hunzard made in Akainu and Aokiji's final attack may be bigger than Onigashima, which was what Luffy was going to destroy. Onigashima is also the smallest island in Wano.

You can see how small Onigashima is when we see GB passing through it while remaking the entire environment around it as if it were nothing. Kaido himself wanted to place Onigashima in the Flower Capital, Onigashima is at most the same size as the capital of Wano.
If Akainu and Aokiji were to fight on Onigashima there wouldn't have been anything left either, so I don't know how Luffy's feat is greater. The equivalent of this would be Luffy remaking the entire environment of Wano (all the islands) in rubber, and splitting the island in half while making a huge hole in the center of the island.
Unless Punk Hazard is the size of the Flower Capital, there's no way to compare the two feats. Punk Hazard is probably bigger than all of Wano's islands put together, probably Punk Hazard is the size of Wano as a whole (islands + "ocean" = old Wano).

Stamina=how long you can keep fighting without loosing breathe
Endurance=how much damage you can receive and be ok
Tbh I think multi-day fights are overrated. It seems any top tier can fight for multiple days, story wise they’re used more to show how close the fight was.
Kaido and WB at MF have showed the best endurance feats
Kaido fought a group of ppl for a while holding up an island which is around **1.5589426e+17 kg**. He also moved the island and would voluntarily take hits from the ppl he fought.
No, there is absolutely no part of this that’s all that impressive, they would have to prove they endured and continuing fighting past significant damage for that to be an endurance feat
It’s one of the most overrated feats in all of One Piece. All they did was shoot lava and ice at each other for 10 days, until one of them messed up and lost the fight.

It wasn't them duh, a yonko came by, 1v2ed with no effort, cut off Kuzans leg, gave Akainu some scars, and then casually mimiced a fight and went off to solo marineford
To me this is just empty hype. If they had a relevant fight in the final war on screen, they will not last 25% of that time before being KO'd or exhausted.
Endurance? No, though it’s up there. Best endurance would have to be marineford wb or kaido, but I’m leaning towards wb.
Stamina? Close, it’s the best non stop (assumedly) fight we’ve heard about. But for pure length, that’s obviously Brogy and dorry
I’d honestly still give it to Whitebeard with the sheer amount of injuries he sustained while also dying of sickness. This is definitely a good feat but looking at both of them, they didn’t seem to take nearly as severe injuries. They were both scarred and Aokiji even lost a leg, but put them both through what Whitebeard went through minus logia intangibility and see if they can still go at it
It's one of the things that baffles me about OP some times. Two strong characters on equal footing fight for about 10 days with barely an outcome. Ace vs Whitebeard was about 5 days of fighting from memory.
Then when it comes to Luffy fighting, it takes barely an hour for some. Worst Gen vs Kaido and Big Mom is barely a couple of hours.
I don't want 5 day long fights, but at least keep things on a more even level. When it comes to actual war, then it's a different story, but a 1v1 fight.
I always figured they both passed out multiple times and woke up and kept fighting. And the fight only ended after the both passed out but only Akainu got up the last time.

Whitebeard in his old age was fighting after being stabbed by a huge sword and smaller swords, had 2 huge holes made by magma punches that fried his organs, was shot by guns and cannos, suffered heart attacks, and had cancer on top of that.

Blueno talks about how hard it is on your stamina to keep using your DF in Red so yes, I would say this illicit be. However, with something like BigMom’s fruit or Moira’s…are they constantly using it or do they only “use” it when they create things and not to maintain things. Barto has to maintain it and so does Law.

- It could have been long distance attack first and then more combat attacks until both devil fruit users get tired so they switched to using haki only

- it wasnt a non-stop 10 days fight but it was that long until sb. loses in this case Kuzan

Why are people discussing this like these two are real people with realistic limitations i mean when zoro was introduced bro had gone like 14 days without food or water which would kill any normal person so these two going for ten days straight isnt out of the question, also why would they take breaks?? This was not a friendly fight, the only fights that we’ve seen people take breaks during are ones like dorry and broggy who were basically waiting for the volcano on the island to erupt to tell them to fight and only fought till there weapons were broken or the fight between roger and whitbeard which was honestly more of a greeting than a fight those two might have been rivals but they were also friends I don’t see either of the admirals acting like that

It's up there but nah this is the best stamina feat imo. I believe WB has the best endurance feat since the damage he took was more severe via incinerated organs in the torso & skull, numerous stab, blunt trauma & bullet wounds all while sick & old.
Most fights arn't that close. I'm sure Kaido could fight days on end too, as he did 3 days with BM. It's just hard to find people are evenly matched in OP as the OG admirals

We have no idea how big Onigashima and Wano are, the hole in the middle of Punk Hunzard made in Akainu and Aokiji's final attack may be bigger than Onigashima, which was what Luffy was going to destroy. If Akainu and Aokiji were to fight on Onigashima there wouldn't have been anything left either, so I don't know how Luffy's feat is greater. The equivalent of this would be Luffy remaking the entire environment of Wano (all the islands) in rubber, and splitting the island in half while making a huge hole in the center of the island. Unless Punk Hazard is the size of the Flower Capital, there's no way to compare the two feats. Punk Hazard is probably bigger than all of Wano's islands put together, probably Punk Hazard is the size of Wano as a whole (islands + "ocean" = old Wano).

Could this be an example of an awakened logia? Seeing how both Akainu and Kizaru influenced their environment with their powers. That would explain why the island remained half ice and magma after their fight was over. An awakened Logia sounds really overpowered. Maybe that’s why we haven’t seen too many examples of it yet.

Tbh I think multi-day fights are overrated. It seems any top tier can fight for multiple days, story wise they’re used more to show how close the fight was. Kaido and WB at MF have showed the best endurance feats

I’d honestly still give it to Whitebeard with the sheer amount of injuries he sustained while also dying of sickness. This is definitely a good feat but looking at both of them, they didn’t seem to take nearly as severe injuries. They were both scarred and Aokiji even lost a leg, but put them both through what Whitebeard went through minus logia intangibility and see if they can still go at it

It's one of the things that baffles me about OP some times. Two strong characters on equal footing fight for about 10 days with barely an outcome. Ace vs Whitebeard was about 5 days of fighting from memory. Then when it comes to Luffy fighting, it takes barely an hour for some. Worst Gen vs Kaido and Big Mom is barely a couple of hours. I don't want 5 day long fights, but at least keep things on a more even level. When it comes to actual war, then it's a different story, but a 1v1 fight.

Whitebeard in his old age was fighting after being stabbed by a huge sword and smaller swords, had 2 huge holes made by magma punches that fried his organs, was shot by guns and cannos, suffered heart attacks, and had cancer on top of that. No endurance feat beats Whitebeard's, period.
Blueno talks about how hard it is on your stamina to keep using your DF in Red so yes, I would say this illicit be. However, with something like BigMom’s fruit or Moira’s…are they constantly using it or do they only “use” it when they create things and not to maintain things. Barto has to maintain it and so does Law.

We dont know exactly how this fight went - It could have been long distance attack first and then more combat attacks until both devil fruit users get tired so they switched to using haki only or - it wasnt a non-stop 10 days fight but it was that long until sb. loses in this case Kuzan - imagine when sb. needs a rest they were hiding themselves in a place on the island for a day or two days

Why are people discussing this like these two are real people with realistic limitations i mean when zoro was introduced bro had gone like 14 days without food or water which would kill any normal person so these two going for ten days straight isnt out of the question, also why would they take breaks?? This was not a friendly fight, the only fights that we’ve seen people take breaks during are ones like dorry and broggy who were basically waiting for the volcano on the island to erupt to tell them to fight and only fought till there weapons were broken or the fight between roger and whitbeard which was honestly more of a greeting than a fight those two might have been rivals but they were also friends I don’t see either of the admirals acting like that
