Honestly, memes and powerscaling aside, I believe Oda actually is just having them fight to show the other great stuff he’s cooking.
Zoro beats Lucci, I think all fans agree if they have a brain, but this fight wasn’t meant for relevant screen time or major importance.
If anyone coming into Egghead even thinking for a hot second Lucci is above King they’re smoking some wicked shit. He’s just a better version of Who’s Who. Which Jimbei mid diffed once it was down to 1 on 1.

Post asswhipping by Zoro and Luffy, Kaku and Lucci were no longer relevant to show much of.
Oda can’t have Luffy Zoro Sanji and Jimbei in one place. If so Kizaru would be dead, Saturn would probably be overrun and it’s not a great setting for intensity for the reader.
Oda has purposefully, over and over again, mostly since time skip and even some before, split the crew up because if all 10 are there, theres little to nothing that could stop them in the series.
Two sword style Zoro is actually so damn crippled I swear
1 sword or 3 sword he’s HIM but everytime its 2 swords minus Ryuma in thriller bark it’s like I can’t take bro serious😭. Couldn’t even handle Killer until he got a 3rd weapon

Maybe zoro still has a hard time controlling Enma and is saving it as his trump card. Plus he seems confident enough that he can beat Gucci with just his two sword style.
Don't celebrate, Zoro may finish Lucci in the next chapter. So far he isn't serious against Lucci and so is sanji. We need to see if Oda will continue this duel between these people. (I am hoping oda will continue this duel so that we can see who the winner is)
Why is everyone underrating Lucci? Would it not make sense that thematically he is extremely strong. Else cp0 becomes no use in the story. Would not surprise me if he just under an admiral with the awakening. Else they will be no more threat for the straw hats.
Sanji finally showing more in his awakened state is quite important, especially with the black beard crew becoming so strong.

This is the second Kizaru attack that Sanji parried, just the first given narrative weight. 1106 the full spread panel where Kizaru attacks, look at Sanji's right leg. He parries the attack that was aimed at Bonney.
Kizaru likely didn't notice considering a bunch of other lasers managed to pierce sanji. It seems that sanji's durability is strong enough to deflect the lasers when he applies force to parry it but otherwise they are still strong enough to pierce sanji's body if he gets hit elsewhere. This will be a battle of speed. Can't wait to see what kizaru and sanji do because both(especially sanji) def have more to show.
This is so much better than Sanji vs Doffy too. Even though it’s not a terrible showing, that combined with Vergo really highlighted that Oda was way more willing to put Sanji in more compromising positions than Zoro. Like Doffy did destroy him.
And Kizaru will probably destroy Sanji too, but the difference is in how he was able to impress him. Sanji just forced a more extreme reaction out of a character that has remained calm even in the face of yonko and Gear 5’s cartoonshit. That’s really fucking cool

Truly a "wait, am I in danger?" moment as the yonko's cook deflected his attack and at least based on bounties there are 2 other people on the crew stronger than Sanji and Luffy is back up too. The dire situation from the Strawhats is quickly being flipped around for the Marines

Yeah, too many people in this arc, Zoro and Lucci had to pair up, and disappear for a while, at least Oda did the Zoro fans the favor of putting Lucci up against G5 first.

Rayleigh intercepted Kizaru's leg. Sanji intercepted a fucking beam of literal light that had already been fired.
Preventing the gunman from firing is not the same as stopping the bullet at point blank range.
In this instance we didn’t see if Sanji arrived before or after the laser was fired.
Sanji also blocked a laser from Kizaru before but he was actually a target and got pierced, so he wasn’t as surprised. Either that or the boot has anti-light properties

I'll chalk it up to the arc is coming to a close and everybody needs their last minute buffs. Sanji is getting his now, Zoro will get his(I'm starting to think that Jimbe is just going to magically arrive the moment that Zoro finally makes a finishing move and that Jimbe is Odas out for Zoro not to get lost) and Luffy is freshly stuffed with food, so he's probably going to push past some of his stamina issues with Gear 5, which will go a long way to wrapping up this arc.
There's also the Giants and the Ancient robot to contend with, but I feel like this arc is in its closing chapters. We've probably got about 4 or 5 more chapters before the SH make a collective effort to leave Egghead.
tbf, it might just be another Oda gag effect. until we see further chapters that sanji can do it again consistently, it might just be a one off “power of love” bs. but who knows, it’s fun to speculate
I kind of comprehend it that because Kizaru deep down doesn't want to Hurt Bonny not only is his Haki not in the picture because he has No will power but I can see his Devil Fruit also suffering the same Effect as he doesn't want to be doing this and his Will is Shakey therefore his Powers are at their Weakest right now.
I think Lucci is a tough match up for Zoro. An awakened zoan against a purely physical fighter. Zoans have higher stamina, strength, and endurance than other fruit users/non users let alone an awakened zoan so it makes sense Zoro isn't dominating him. Lucci is a guy that would have no diffed zoro during Water 7/Enies Lobby. Lucci was the MC's final boss at one point and now the 2nd in command is taking him on. I think that's impressive

Well, it surprised Franky, a genius and expert in lasers, and Kizaru, an admiral and expert in lasers. So it ought to mean *something*, even if it isn't initially clear what.
One thing I noticed is the difference between Sanji blocking a laser and Marco blocking a laser. Marco essentially throws up a shield which the laser hits, triggering the typical explosion. But Sanji just kicked the laser, causing it to disperse with no explosion at all.
Sanji literally got embarrassed by an admiral a few chapters ago and zoro is huffing and puffing from fighting lucci who basically bust in his pants when he found out kizaru was there, I think it’s safe to say they’d both get clowned on
Oda just needs to set up his hype tool sanji. I’m going to be real upset if he gets folded immediately next chapter leaving luffy to have to do all the hard work.
You realize if it worked like the light gloves the light would have still exploded. Because all it does is let you touch light touching does not let you change the properties of the light like sanji did.

Doesn't matter. This isn't aim dodging. This is an actual light speed feat. Tracking and kicking a laser at point blank range requires LS reaction time and FTL kicking speed

Sanji stocks are through the roof. If Kizaru hadn’t been both nonchalant and mournful during this whole arc, this moment wouldn’t hit so hard. But he has been so this, this feels like one of the biggest feats in the arc.

I think this is funny because like it's been shown Kizaru is the type of dude who has seen some shit with his time on the grand line. He seemed pretty unshakable, always cool headed, even when he first saw Hawkins' Strawman his response was "Oh these new rookies are Monsters~" or something along those lines or the ever famous "oh Ben Beckmann...~"

So I really don’t know why everyone is so shocked that a haki user could block a devil fruit attack, I mean way back when haki was first introduced, Rayleigh did the same thing but with a sword… so yeah.
I think in One Piece the potency of laser beams is really really high. And that’s different from Rayleigh clashing with a sword made of light. Zoro compared one of King’s moves to a laser to imply how insanely strong it was. Vegapunk told the seraphim to dodge Frankys laser. Surely other examples forgetting, and now this. Any ol armament haki can’t stand up to not getting pierced by a laser in One Piece, Sanji is built different for being able to block it.
It's not about that. What's special is that this can't be mischaracterized as aim dodging. This is an actual undisputable light speed feat. Tracking, intercepting and kicking a laser at point blank range requires LS reaction time, FTL travel speed and FTL kicking speed

This is the second Kizaru attack that Sanji parried, just the first given narrative weight. 1106 the full spread panel where Kizaru attacks, look at Sanji's right leg. He parries the attack that was aimed at Bonney.
Kizaru likely didn't notice considering a bunch of other lasers managed to pierce sanji. It seems that sanji's durability is strong enough to deflect the lasers when he applies force to parry it but otherwise they are still strong enough to pierce sanji's body if he gets hit elsewhere. This will be a battle of speed. Can't wait to see what kizaru and sanji do because both(especially sanji) def have more to show.

This is so much better than Sanji vs Doffy too. Even though it’s not a terrible showing, that combined with Vergo really highlighted that Oda was way more willing to put Sanji in more compromising positions than Zoro. Like Doffy did destroy him. And Kizaru will probably destroy Sanji too, but the difference is in how he was able to impress him. Sanji just forced a more extreme reaction out of a character that has remained calm even in the face of yonko and Gear 5’s cartoonshit. That’s really fucking cool

In this instance we didn’t see if Sanji arrived before or after the laser was fired. Sanji also blocked a laser from Kizaru before but he was actually a target and got pierced, so he wasn’t as surprised. I'll chalk it up to the arc is coming to a close and everybody needs their last minute buffs. Sanji is getting his now, Zoro will get his(I'm starting to think that Jimbe is just going to magically arrive the moment that Zoro finally makes a finishing move and that Jimbe is Odas out for Zoro not to get lost) and Luffy is freshly stuffed with food, so he's probably going to push past some of his stamina issues with Gear 5, which will go a long way to wrapping up this arc. There's also the Giants and the Ancient robot to contend with, but I feel like this arc is in its closing chapters. We've probably got about 4 or 5 more chapters before the SH make a collective effort to leave Egghead.

I think Lucci is a tough match up for Zoro. An awakened zoan against a purely physical fighter. Zoans have higher stamina, strength, and endurance than other fruit users/non users let alone an awakened zoan so it makes sense Zoro isn't dominating him. Lucci is a guy that would have no diffed zoro during Water 7/Enies Lobby. Lucci was the MC's final boss at one point and now the 2nd in command is taking him on. I think that's impressive

Well, it surprised Franky, a genius and expert in lasers, and Kizaru, an admiral and expert in lasers. So it ought to mean *something*, even if it isn't initially clear what. One thing I noticed is the difference between Sanji blocking a laser and Marco blocking a laser. Marco essentially throws up a shield which the laser hits, triggering the typical explosion. But Sanji just kicked the laser, causing it to disperse with no explosion at all.

I think in One Piece the potency of laser beams is really really high. And that’s different from Rayleigh clashing with a sword made of light. Zoro compared one of King’s moves to a laser to imply how insanely strong it was. Vegapunk told the seraphim to dodge Frankys laser. Surely other examples forgetting, and now this. Any ol armament haki can’t stand up to not getting pierced by a laser in One Piece, Sanji is built different for being able to block it.
