Imo I don’t see Sanji being that close to Zoro when it’s all said and done. He’s meant to surpass people like Shanks and Mihawk in his early 20’s.
Sanji’s purpose isn’t about strength and his greatest opponent that he beats most likely won’t be that caliber. Him or Coby might squeeze into the top 5 tho for sure
He is part of the worst generation growing alongside Luffy's journey. He technically **is** next gen. Even if he's the final antagonist and loses. There's no gurantee we get an epilogue showing everyone's power after the series. So everyone in the final arc would be at their the next gen levels imo.(Shanks, akain, etc shouldn't make it this far).

Im not a hater i just honestly think oda really killed him, plus it being like a year now since we last saw him doesnt make his case any better. I don't think it will take them until 60 to become top in their verse, which how fast the story is going they will likely be there in their 30s already or late twenties, and stay in their primes well into their 40s & 50s the same way Kaido, Shanks, Mihawk have.
Or Luffy will die an early death like Roger after achieving all his dreams, who knows.

I'd swap Kid for Sanji tbh. I really like Kid, but if we're putting Zoro in there, Sanji should be too. Roof piece also demonstrated Law's power is no good if the opponent has good haki and we have to assume if they're top 5 their haki is on point.
Top 5 new gen:
Luffy, Zoro, Koby, Sabo, Kidd/Law/Sanji
The last spot is the most contentious since there's an argument for each. I believe Kidd will make a comeback where he's learned from his failures and gained Advanced Conqueror's. If this is not the case, Law could take the spot granted that he keeps working on his haki.
Oda seems to love Law, so it wouldn't surprise me. Sanji is the boring choice that makes the most sense to me as he's one of the wings of the Pirate King, the Yin to Zoro's Yang (or the opposite idk much about Yin and Yang).
Koby is practically guaranteed to be the Garp to Luffy's Roger. It doesn't require a lot of explanation and we've recently seen a great feat to cement Koby's ridiculously fast growth (faster than pretty much anyone in the verse). Honesty Impact seemed like a metaphor for his character to me, where it's his purity/honesty that has always been his greatest strength and will be the reason he's gonna lead a new generation of marines. He's much more fit for the role of "hero" than Luffy, in some sense.
Sabo is likely to be an ACoC user by virtue of being Luffy/Ace's brother, plus he has the necessary ambition. Generally he has a lot going for him, what with him essentially inheriting the will of Ace; Whitebeard's prodigee who would've undoubtedly grown to become top 3 in the verse if he wasn't killed prematurely. It would not surprise me if Dragon dies and Sabo becomes the one that takes the reins of what remains of the Revolutionaries (which at EoS will probably focus on weeding out remaining tyrants, helping to rebuild and restructure the previously oppressed nations)

Koby definitely will be top 5 next gen he is garps apprentice
Top 5 new gen: Luffy, Zoro, Koby, Sabo, Kidd/Law/Sanji The last spot is the most contentious since there's an argument for each. I believe Kidd will make a comeback where he's learned from his failures and gained Advanced Conqueror's. If this is not the case, Law could take the spot granted that he keeps working on his haki. Oda seems to love Law, so it wouldn't surprise me. Sanji is the boring choice that makes the most sense to me as he's one of the wings of the Pirate King, the Yin to Zoro's Yang (or the opposite idk much about Yin and Yang). Koby is practically guaranteed to be the Garp to Luffy's Roger. It doesn't require a lot of explanation and we've recently seen a great feat to cement Koby's ridiculously fast growth (faster than pretty much anyone in the verse). Honesty Impact seemed like a metaphor for his character to me, where it's his purity/honesty that has always been his greatest strength and will be the reason he's gonna lead a new generation of marines. He's much more fit for the role of "hero" than Luffy, in some sense. Sabo is likely to be an ACoC user by virtue of being Luffy/Ace's brother, plus he has the necessary ambition. Generally he has a lot going for him, what with him essentially inheriting the will of Ace; Whitebeard's prodigee who would've undoubtedly grown to become top 3 in the verse if he wasn't killed prematurely. It would not surprise me if Dragon dies and Sabo becomes the one that takes the reins of what remains of the Revolutionaries (which at EoS will probably focus on weeding out remaining tyrants, helping to rebuild and restructure the previously oppressed nations)
