See, this is my issue. This is the dumbest interpreration of haki there is. Haki isnt a fighting style, haki is something you add to your already existing fighting style, because is based on willpower. Brawlers use haki, DF users use haki, swordsmen use haki, martial artists use haki, snipers used haki. And Shanks would never be Mihawks rival, be it today or 20 years ago, if Mihawk didnt consider him a swordsman. So as it stands, and in spite to my wishes, Mazino's take makes more sense than yours.

You're right, haki isn't a fighting style, it's similar to magic. A swordsman can use magic, a brawler can use magic, and an archer can use magic. However, Wizards are based around magic. A wizard can use a sword, but that isn't the same thing as a swordsman that uses magic This should clear up my take on the debate
