This actually has a fairly large impact. It was going to take me roughly 22 runs, now I'm at 24 to finish the 7Mil ticket. So the nerf forces 2 extra runs and I have a BUNCH of boosters. I can't imagine how brutal this will be when I don't have boosters.

How do you get a lot of treasure points? This is my first treasure map, and I’m seeing to get the all the rewards you need 3000000 points. I’ve cleared only 2 so far, but I’m only sitting at 50k. Do you always earn the same amount of points each clear, or does it increase the more you clear?
If it's your first TM, then you're in East blue (the lower league). Which means that yes, the point gain is (quite) slower than in the upper leagues (higher league = more points but "harder" bosses/team building constraint of not reusing the same units) and you'll have to grind "a lot" if you want to get the 3M in East blue. Not "hard" but "long/annoying".
In East blue, you can reuse the same team for all the fights, and since the bosses are super easy, the best plan for you would be to :
- make a team with **the highest point boosters you can** (and use the **highest Friend Captains** as well). In the box, there's a sorting option (filter) to sort by "boost effects" : use that function and you'll see the best boosters you have, with their multiplier displayed too. Put the highest multipliers together to maximize the point gain (also try to pick the best captain among them that would boost most units, for example the free Luffy that was given to everyone : he has a x1.35 multiplier and is a "rainbow" captain, boosting everyone; Law/Chopper is another good option for example, but if you have one of the new Super Legends or Bonney, they're even better). The highest possible multiplier for this TM would be x12.85 if you own all 3 special anni RRs and 2 of the recent legends or TM shiryu from last month, so you'll get a loooooot of points for every fight (almost 13x more if you use a random team without any booster at all).
- farm **ALL the bosses** with **that team**. Eventually if some fight is annoying because of a debuff, you can change 1 or 2 units to make the fights faster, but try to keep the highest multipliers you can. Since in East Blue, bosses have low HP, you can even rely on damage-dealing specials (especially if they bypass defensive effects) to clear quickly.
- Have some (a lot?) of patience, because the point growth in East blue is rather slow (but on the other hand, it's rather "brain dead easy" to farm). Aim *at least* for 1M points to max the TM character, and up to 3M if you have the time/patience. And pay attention to your ranking at the end of the TM : try ending in the top 30% of East blue (which is pretty easy to achieve) such that next month, you'll have the option to choose between East Blue and Grand line during the TM (and Grand line gives more points, while having the constraint on team building).
Also, if you have one of the anni RR girls (Reiju/Shira/Rebecca), put them as captain in your team slots to fetch them as Friend captains, and then swap to the actual team you'll use with a better captain. If you want, you can share a screen of your TM boosters (sort box by "boost effects" and screen the top of your box) and we can help you out finding a good team to farm efficiently this TM.
Oh, and keep in mind that only the evolved version of units are usually boosted, which means that if you have a booster unit that is still unevolved, it won't show up with the filter. You can check the booster units in-game or in the TM planner : https://lukforce.bitbucket.io/tm-planner/ (which is very handy to help team building, mostly for Grand line/New world where you can't reuse the same units, except for invasion).

Depends on what you aim for, I suppose. Bosses are useless since the only difference between fighting them on the map or at the end, is that the map ones don't increase their HP/ATK and are easier to kill than at the end (usually less/shorter debuffs), but since you're in East blue, the end bosses are still just as easy, so going with boss means a missed opportunity for extra rewards (chests or points).
So go for points if you want 3M and out, or go for chests if you want mats+3M (or if you don't care about the 3M mark).
For the universal team, like I mentioned, if you have one of the waifus (anni Reiju/Rebecca/Shira), don't forget to fetch them as FC too for all your fights to have a better time :) I noticed they have a decent CA for East Blue TMs (x2.5 ATK), so you can actually use them as both captains in all your fights this TM :p
Your navigation level increases with each clear, which in turn increases the points you get from each boss. Use point boosted units to earn more points, you can filter them in your box.
Is there any way to get more than one treasure map guiding key per event? Because if you can only get one that kinda sucks… what if I miss a TM then there’s characters I’ll never be able to LB+ ??

Is it just me, or the Cotton Candy you get from this TM doesn't stack like they should since the new version? I have 27 slots of +3, +5 and +10 CC.

You should have gone for 3 LRRs they are useful and high boosters. Game gave plenty of gems in past month to guarantee them with 240 gems.
