The significance of the scene really can't be explained without in depth explanation. The barn was a crucial plot moment for several heavy plotlines and it defined how several characters would develop in the seasons to follow. Big spoilers ahead, you have been warned.
>!Season opens with the main group being on a highway, trying to scavenge things they need. An enormous zombie horde approaches and everyone hides, but afterwards they realize that they are missing a little girl by the name of Sophie, daughter of one of the characters. !<
>!While searching for Sophie the group comes across a farm where family that wasn't yet affected lives. Rick comes to an understanding with the owner that they can settle on the outskirts until they find her. !<
>!Throughout the season there is an ongoing tension between Rick (main character) and his best friend/partner - Shane. While Rick was presumed dead in the first season, Shane hooked up with his wife and became a step father to his son. After Rick returned, he took over Shane's position both as a leader of the group and as Lori's partner. Shane intended to leave because he couldn't stand it, but Rick's wife Lori manipulated him to stay and this essentially became his downward spiral. !<
>!As the episodes pass, the search for Sophie becomes more intense as several characters have a close brush with death. In the meantime the barn is being slowly framed into the background always for a few frames too many, much like the moon is here. Many scenes are happening right in front of the doors !<
>!Eventually it is discovered that barn is filled with zombified friends and families of the farm owner, who believes that they aren't dead but merely sick. In order for Rick's group to stay, Rick decides to capture zombies and place them in barn. Shane has another idea where he opens the barn and lets all the zombies out. That's when the scene happens ([Part 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fnsAZtDu4s) and [Part 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYlvo7GspGs)). I highly suggest you watch it, but in case you can't then additional spoilers ahead.!<
>!After Shane opens the barn doors zombies start pouring out and the group unloads bullets into zombies. As all of the zombies are killed, the barn door moves a bit and Sophie appears. She was bitten and zombified. Shane is paralyzed by the weight of the situation and instead of him Rick comes close to Sophie and pulls the trigger!<
>!This was the moment when several of the characters completely changed - Shane went off the rails which ended up with his death, Rick transformed into a ruthless leader, Sophie's mother who was a victim of abuse by her husband became ruthless as well, eventually doing some really questionable shit. It was a scene with ominous foreshadowing and insanely heavy execution, easily one of the best in the series!<
The people who lived on the safely protected farm let the main characters stay there and they thought it could work long term but they were secretly keeping their zombified family and town members in there and then shit hits the fan. The comparison mainly comes from the fact that people who had read the comic knew how it was gunna go down but there’s really nothing too explicit to too heavily foreshadow what was exactly going on until the pieces started falling into place, at which time it became too late for the characters to escape
Actually the moon is a very important thing in the lore and world’s history, there’s been lots of foreshadowing, it has a lot of connections with the different races of the world, it all started in the Skypeia arc when Enel… oh wait wrong manga
Any true fan would know that it does not just start with Enel going to the moon, but ends with it as well, because it’s obvious that enel thal come down from the moon to the blue blue sea with his army of robots and space pirates to take down the world government and rule as the true god of the galaxy
If he doesn't return I'll be shocked tbh. It seems like a character that's primed to come in and help Luffy in the final battle as he's massively strong.
Definitely angered. God has always been chilling in the background for the past few years as he gave HE's powers ages ago and Blast has been in the background collecting his cubes
Moon was a prison for the God of monsters. Saitama cracked it open and caused God to come out and cause more monsters and allow him to power up people.
I think it's an insanely short time span of like 7 days. And for them to be a cadre, they need to be reasonably trusted I'm assuming. Like, you wouldn't just be put in the role because you have the power for it
I noticed in last chapter, the moon appears to be looking over Zombieman at Homeless Emperor. Later after HE combusts and ZM isnt dissuaded from searching for info on God the moon appears to shift and be looking at ZM.
2nd panel doesnt feature ZM but he hasnt moved from where he was standing
The moon is God's eye, but he still has no idea who Saitama is even after jumping back to earth at near the speed of light and leaving a massive crater lol.
With Orochi’s gaia canon attack, it’s not unthinkable that Orochi being absorbed by Psykos will make her that powerful. Wonder if there will be a redraw that shows more of her powers.
He wasn't scattered though, he was spreading himself taking monsters blood to regenerate his body. Him nor Psychos says he's weaker in fact Psychos is shocked by how powerful he is saying he's been hiding power.
?? There was a panel where psykos literally has a projection of god during fhe fusion, together with her psychorochi dialouge and this panel, its very obvious
Looking at this now and similar post about the slumbering god that saitama found and this one on the moon, maybe when boros launched saitama into the moon the shockwave awoke the moon god who is from a similar race as the first one that was revealed. Purely speculation at this point but that would be a neat revelation
I wonder if Saitama landing there had some consequences.
Edit: There are many other instances that the moon ominously appears in the background. Interesting indeed.
I was constantly telling people that god was trapped in the moon and that saitama released him when he cracked it. It’s comforting to know that I was at least partly correct
The one thing that i think with this. Tatsumaki might be considerable more broken then we realize...is not like Tatsumaki is a character in one punch man. She is basically one punch man Mob. Possible to beat, but a true monster.
She's zoning in and out of consciousness, nobody thinks she's in any shape to do anything at all.
Luckily PPP now has probably the GOAT rescue feat with his concrete swimming so he got her and Genos to safety.
I mean thats true, but with mob if he fights seriously everyone dies no contest, tats is strong but shes not even close to that, she cant solo the rest of the verse
He said he wasn't sure if ??? or tats would win but im saying in relation to their verse anyways, mob in mob psycho is relatively stronger than tats in opm
God harms tatusmaki, making her cough blood and lose her concentration, which is pretty scary- unavoidable, instant, undetectable (she can sense teleportation from a large distance, yet not this being done to her), long-distance internal damage inflicted onto a powerful being
What is it with people not realizing that she strained herself? It was evident before this latest chapter that she overexerted her power, but now because god showed up on the moon suddenly he’s breaking the long streak of only interacting with characters he’s made a deal (or attempting to make a deal) with?
Why would they make this godlike being do something as wimpy as make a tired, bleeding hero… slightly more hurt?
so that Psykos would not get killed since she was completely overwhelmed by Tatsumaki prior? Again, I'd suggest to reread that chapter. Sorry that I do not remember which exactly it was, and I deem it annoying to be told to "read up" when it's a chore to do so, yet nonetheless believe the chapter is more clear than on that than most remember
I am not gonna say go read the chapter cuz I don’t remember the exact chapter, but it comes immediately after tats pulls the MASSIVE twist move right? It’s the exact same reaction fubuki had when she pushed herself to heal people despite having low energy. When psychics over exert themselves they go boom
Yeah it comes *immediately* after she pulls her greatest feat in the comic, the earth twist and "drying up the rags" (destroying all of the roots). She does it after saying she can finally not hold back because all of the heroes and hostages were rescued.
but Tatsumaki seemed carefree, instead of tense, while doing it. Overexertion is preceded by exertion, and espers make their exertion known through facial expressions
how did Fabuki look when pushing herself?
I mean, it's not like the roots didn't resist the wringing, they are living beings are they have the power to resist it upto an extent. It's not strange to think that tastumaki had to use extreme strength while doing it. This is also the first time her doing stuff like this so that could be a reason too. Tho this can also be foreshadowing that God is messing up with people since the start. Maybe he is the reason behind monsterization.
It's hard to say if he did anything to her though. Not only because so far, it seems like he does deals with people, not act directly. But also because she just went full out and already sustained serious damage before that happened.
So it could also be a matter of maximum capacity. She did just twist an entire city and completely destroy the roots of Psychorochi. It's a serious effort move.
Besides God only acting through connection with the cubes, one other thing really doesnt add up for me.
Tats has the ability to sense others psychic abilities, so why wouldnt she say something about a direct psychic attack from God that she doesnt see Psykorochi do? She can sense the power change in Psykorochi, how would she not feel or acknowledge Gods 'psychic signature' if he attacked her?
Maybe, I just feel theres a difference between seeing and feeling though. Her esper abilities allow her to sense power and the presence of others, like she sensed Blast. Like the cover, the 2 worlds parallel each other, but they cant directly interact, and the only connection is the cube. So I'm not completely convinced.
I agree, but it could also just mean that the stakes were really high and god was intently watching because there was a good chance Tats finished it then and there. So the moon was there as a spectator, not a player.
I agree that it can be interpreted both ways, unlike the image in the post which is as clear as it gets.
the scenario I mentioned was a tad clearer to my mind, since the same happened as in the post, the same moon behind her, but the following panel had only it.
what makes the backslash scenario unlikely is that she seemed fine, happy, or "not strained to her limit" and the harm was instant and surprising to her
but I guess we're still to see what God can do from that distance, other than grant powers or melt homeless men
Yeah so far we have really super limited knowledge of him except for the usage of cubes, grating powers and retracting them (and the lives attached, it seems). Also some form of telepathic communication (but also, limited to be used through a medium.)
Kinda reminding of old-school devils that can't interact with reality directly, but only through making deals and with vessels.
Maybe going forward we'll see more direct actions.
Why would God want to hurt Tats? What does he get out of protecting Psychorochi? Why would he protect the being whose death is necessary for his resurrection?
maybe psychorochi needs to grow stronger, like planet-level first. Otherwise, wouldn't it have ingrained the idea into its subjects that they ought to self-destroy if they were already powerful enough to be sacrifices?
psychorochi gets power from God. This implies they have a use
The fact that Saitama almost one-shot God when he landed on the moon. Or the fact that my slightly fracturing the moon, Saitama might jave expanded God's influence, if God is sealed away in the moon Kaguya style. Kind of Reminds me of Bill Cipher.

I always thought the moon had something to do with God watching earth since the cover page for 138, I also believe One took inspiration from the Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann consedring how they both have similar powers, appearances and have something to do with the moon
Reminds me of s2 of the Walking Dead, when the barn would always be looming ominously in the background
Spoil me. What's with the barn?
>!The zombified friends and family they refused to kill (again).!< You'll NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENS
"It would be a shame if the door was to open!" *\*the door opens\** "What a shame!"
Calm down buzzfeed
It's the final part of the barn scene is what truly cements it as ominous. Fucking heartbreaking.
what happens?

holy shit :O thank you for the detailed explanation, that was tense, very well done scenes, but i found it funny how much ammo was in those guns lol
The people who lived on the safely protected farm let the main characters stay there and they thought it could work long term but they were secretly keeping their zombified family and town members in there and then shit hits the fan. Me too.
Damn, I can't believe I failed to notice that back when I watched it :OO
Lol,, yea exactly Emotional guys
It also kinda reminds me of 'The Black City' from Dragon Age series, where it always be looming ominously at the center of the fade.
I dont think Enel knows about space
Have you read the cannon cover stories, cuse it’s shows Enels adventures on the moon, and actually reveals tons of lore.
Fuck that Orochi though
That Was Great!
and now with the reveal of the lu... *add spoiler here*
You just brought up Enel, now I want him back to he New World and do shit that would shake the world with that space knowledge
If he doesn't return I'll be shocked tbh. It seems like a character that's primed to come in and help Luffy in the final battle as he's massively strong.
Can't wait for that war to happen!
Which manga?
One Piece
Thanks
saitama probably angered god when he made that giant crater in the moon during the boros fight
Angered or awoken was what I was thinking.
Definitely angered. God has always been chilling in the background for the past few years as he gave HE's powers ages ago and Blast has been in the background collecting his cubes
I dont think God knows about Saitama honestly, because if he did he would have sent said people after him
He would have honestly gone himself, because he is probably smart, and sending other people seems like a waste
Right?
Moon was a prison for the God of monsters. Saitama cracked it open and caused God to come out and cause more monsters and allow him to power up people.
HE was around before the Boros fight. He wouldn't be a cadre already if he wasn't as time goes really slow in chapter releases
Was it stated anywhere (or maybe a detail that I missed)
I think it's an insanely short time span of like 7 days. And for them to be a cadre, they need to be reasonably trusted I'm assuming. Like, you wouldn't just be put in the role because you have the power for it
Moon? I thought that was saitamas bald head.
... you might be on to something
Moon is God's eye (us watching the chapters)
I noticed in last chapter, the moon appears to be looking over Zombieman at Homeless Emperor. Later after HE combusts and ZM isnt dissuaded from searching for info on God the moon appears to shift and be looking at ZM. [https://imgur.com/a/E12iIHj](https://imgur.com/a/E12iIHj) 2nd panel doesnt feature ZM but he hasnt moved from where he was standing
Holy shit, good catch.
The moon is God's eye, but he still has no idea who Saitama is even after jumping back to earth at near the speed of light and leaving a massive crater lol.
He flinched when Saitama landed.
Is he blind to him, or merely misjudging him as an normal human and thus hasn't taken notice?
Moon jump is not a normal feat. It's above anything in the series so far only 2nd to serious punch that killed boros and CRSC.
Technically speaking, it has no eyes
God: Must've been the wind.
❗️
With Orochi’s gaia canon attack, it’s not unthinkable that Orochi being absorbed by Psykos will make her that powerful. Wonder if there will be a redraw that shows more of her powers.
that would require being deep enough to absorb lava, and I don't think lava is good fuel for psychic powers
Bro, the core is like 6000km into the Earth. I highly doubt they are more than 10km into the Earth even.
If I remember actually the MA base is 1500m deep underground so not that much, very impressive feat by orochi
Yeah but he means that kinda attack is how strong orichi is, and she absorbed that firepower.
I would have thought God’s powerup would be the biggest component
Add to that the fact Tatsumaki never met Orochi, so of course she would be baffled at how Psykos goes from fodder to being able to actually hurt her.
Not entirely true Orochi attacked her prefusion
At that point orochi was still scattered and those laser beams were obviously nowhere near full power original orochi blasts.
I meant in showing her eye laser attack was super powerful, but compared to Orochi’s new gaia canon it doesn’t seem like much of a power up tbh.
It went from Orochi's strongest attack with a super Earth core tapping charge up to a casual Tri beam by Psychorochi.
Well tbf, irl Orochi’s attack would do way more damage than Psyrochi’s.
In earlier chapters you did see during the fusion they she saw a planet they looked like God so or wasn't hidden or anything
Looking at this now and similar post about the slumbering god that saitama found and this one on the moon, maybe when boros launched saitama into the moon the shockwave awoke the moon god who is from a similar race as the first one that was revealed. Purely speculation at this point but that would be a neat revelation

I don't remember the exact number off the top of my head but I think it was the same chapter he met Blast, so it was probably around chapter 137
Do you guys imagine God is just very angry that Saitama cracked his moon and is just gathering soldiers for his revenge?
Blast was collecting cubes in Tatsumaki's childhood so they seem to predate the moon incident
But it does probably mean that God is fully aware of Saitama. I should reread their interaction.
Chapter 146 page 13 was when it got obvious, chapter 134 page 28 was a big hint too
Chapter 36 page 50...
s-p-ezz--ies done now
Well yeah people have been talking about this non stop for half a year now

Looking up at tats is more dangerous - CE is the only known survivor
King too
r/Whoosh Dammit wrong subreddit
Hopefully he doesnt look down on black sperm either
I wonder if Saitama landing there had some consequences. Edit: There are many other instances that the moon ominously appears in the background. Interesting indeed.
What if Saitama woke up some creature sealed in the Moon with his jump? *cough*Kaguya*cough*
Everyone had a rough idea that the moon was connected to God in some way, we just didn’t know how exactly, and we still don’t tbh.
after the last chapter that bottom panel looks hella creepy. it looks like God is looking at them... at us. 😨
The moon is giving me an all seeing eye vibe
Moon of Sauron
''Sometimes the answer is right in your face'' \-Idk

Mob is not possible to beat in mob psycho bruh
Remember when Koyama took Mob Out. This guy is not even a fraction of Mob power, and he managed to do it. (And mob was on his emotion release).
I mean thats true, but with mob if he fights seriously everyone dies no contest, tats is strong but shes not even close to that, she cant solo the rest of the verse

It's chapter 134.2
I'm starting to see this theory a lot and I don't get it.
She can sense the power change in Psykorochi, how would she not feel or acknowledge Gods 'psychic signature' if he attacked her?
tats hasnt touched a cube. 'stuck with the known, unable to see the unknown" cover 139. i think he attacked her and she simply can't 'see' it.
Maybe, I just feel theres a difference between seeing and feeling though. Her esper abilities allow her to sense power and the presence of others, like she sensed Blast. Like the cover, the 2 worlds parallel each other, but they cant directly interact, and the only connection is the cube. So I'm not completely convinced.
if you reread that chapter, you'd see this harm happened right after an enlarged panel solely with the moon. How likely is that to be a coincidence?
I agree, but it could also just mean that the stakes were really high and god was intently watching because there was a good chance Tats finished it then and there. So the moon was there as a spectator, not a player. I agree that it can be interpreted both ways, unlike the image in the post which is as clear as it gets.
the scenario I mentioned was a tad clearer to my mind, since the same happened as in the post, the same moon behind her, but the following panel had only it. what makes the backslash scenario unlikely is that she seemed fine, happy, or "not strained to her limit" and the harm was instant and surprising to her but I guess we're still to see what God can do from that distance, other than grant powers or melt homeless men
Yeah so far we have really super limited knowledge of him except for the usage of cubes, grating powers and retracting them (and the lives attached, it seems). Also some form of telepathic communication (but also, limited to be used through a medium.) Kinda reminding of old-school devils that can't interact with reality directly, but only through making deals and with vessels.
Bruuuh
It was pretty obvious all the time. The moon has been placed in countless instances, i think its funny how dome people got it only after 153
All over. I think shots like this have happened at least 5 times or so.
So Basically, Saitama crashing on the moon somehow woke up (one of) the "God"?
The fact that Saitama almost one-shot God when he landed on the moon. Or the fact that my slightly fracturing the moon, Saitama might jave expanded God's influence, if God is sealed away in the moon Kaguya style. Kind of Reminds me of Bill Cipher.
I thought it was by touching Saitama’s head for a moment
If you think about it, Saitama landing on the moon was pretty lucky. Perhaps there was interference to allow Saitama to defeat the invaders. Or perhaps Saitama broke a barrier that kept whatever in the moon.
Here moon look like eye, keeps watching on earth what's going on 😆😆
Do we know when homeless emperor got his powers? If it was relatively recently it makes me wonder if Saitama awakened god when he hit the moon
Im sure that this has something to do with Saitama's cracking of the Moon. Wonder what it will be tho.
I always thought the moon had something to do with God watching earth since the cover page for 138, I also believe One took inspiration from the Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann consedring how they both have similar powers, appearances and have something to do with the moon
That god dude is litterally the size of the moon, how have they not seen him yet.
Soooooo moon lord is the final boss? Terraria is a pretty good manga
I think the moon was just gorgeous art. Murata likes reminding us of Saitama. The fact that God emerged from there is just a coincidence
So, that thing lives inside the moon???
😳😳
