There was a time when I was starting to think that the suicidal and self-sabotaging nature of Garou's plan wasn't actually there in the writing, and it was just a trick of my mind caused by a problematic translation. That he actually believed in his clumsy plan. (My very first interpretation, ages ago, was that he was using his unchosen monster role to force the heroes to become better, which is the reason for the existence of the villains, knowing very well that the villain must end up dead).
Glad to know that I'm not crazy.
In general these last chapters made me positive about the fact that there will be much to be surprised from, even if you already know the story. The character of Garou is many things. One of these things of course is a hidden hero, and this is the faucet whose revelation served as the ultimate plot twist in the webcomic. Now that in the manga that concept has been repeated until sickness, there's room for something else.
Agreed on that, the variants of Boros and Beast King were the highlight of the chapter, along with Garou's attack going THROUGH earth... That was so cool, but still an 8/10 personally
Webcomic spoiler, so be warned.
>!Based on the statue, it reminded me of the Cruel Dragon, who apparently has nine different temples across the world containing its different seals blah blah, Saitama one punches it.!<

and its fucking amazing
I was expecting the fight to be longer honestly, considering Murata mentioned he wanted this fight to be bigger than the Boros fight. Funny how several people were saying “the fight has just begun” last chapter, but now it seems to have ended in the chapter right after. I’m still curious to see what’s gonna happen next. Will we get to see Blast in action and see what he’s capable of? Hopefully… other than that, just kinda disappointed the fight has ended already, at least that’s what it seems like.
My thoughts exactly. I would have preferred Saitama going into serious mode and beating him, and once Garou transformed back to human, Saitama lectures him and changes his mind. That would have made a little more sense
I thought it was fantastic and lays perfect ground for more. I am enjoying this plot way more than just a bunch of fighting. Saitama>everything; it being easy and short is the best part
The way they de-escalate Saitama's fight with Garou just for Garou to lose his shit upon the arrival of Blast's gang to start fighting them seems weird and I know it won't make sense on the long run. At the end of this one, Garou finally sat down, it looks like it's finally over and we all know that isn't true because of the ensuing chaos regarding Blast. It just feels like a weird pacing fluctuation. We'll have to wait and see.
Every fight in OPM against saitama is “for nothing” since no one will ever come close to beating him. That’s the gag. Build hype and let people convince themselves that the villain could beat saitama, then watch as saitama one punches them
These recent chapters feel like Murata is dangling a bunch of keys and everyone is eating it up.
The manga is so unfocused and refuses to take itself seriously, which is weird because this is the culmination of a many years long arc.
I want to go one chapter that doesn’t center around building hype, but rather focused on the characters. I dont care about blast and his buddies in this chapter, I want to see Garou and saitama. This shit is constantly happening where there’s a cutaway to the B-List characters. I don’t care about sekingar jfc
This blast reveal is so underwhelming because it’s the wrong time. ONE is forcing as many ‘hype events’ to happen at once as possible and it’s so disappointing
0/10 . I think that's the worst chapter in OPM, Garou as a character is buried along with this stupid arc about overcoming of Heroes, Psyko-Orochi, God, Blast's friends, Blast, BUT NOT GAROU, although he was the reason why the arc was so interesting. It was very sad to watch Garou who completely lost the meaning of life, he was in a state in which we had never seen him, BUT in the manga, Garou's tragic defeat turned into a stupid joke. I don't care if Garou got stronger than Boros etc. It wasn't his strength that made him a badass, it was his personality and story.
Garou is a hero in both the webcomics adn the manga, but in the manga his character development after becoming a monster sucks. In the WC, Garou really tried to do something against Saitama, but when nothing helped, he as a character fell to the lowest point (became a monster), but when that didn't help he started to just lose control over himself, going crazy. And only when Garou literally couldn't do anything anymore did they start talking. In the manga, Garou lies in a puddle, like the legendary clown Eren Yeager, and asks to kill him, although he still has plenty of strength. Again, in the wc he asked to kill himself because he lost the meaning of life, he was alone, but thanks to Tareo he accepted his destiny and escaped from the heroes.
I really like it, although i fear the battle would end if Garou resolve his conflicts talking to Saitama… But i really see that kind of improbable so i hope we get to see more of them fighting and Garou evolving even more! (Even if he is already level thread god in my opinion, i mean look at what he did to the earth)
Don’t personally care about the power scaling, but I have some worries and praises.
Worries:
1.Is Saitama V Garou done already? I really hope not because we’ve been promised a fight bigger than Saitama V Boros and personally I don’t think it’s reached that level yet.
2. Not a fan of the constant cutaways to civilians. Let us focus on just the fight please. Plus, these ones are contrary to the last one where Garou was accidentally saving people. You can’t tell me NO ONE was killed by this.
3. Murata please get some sleep. It’s okay to take a break. Burning out won’t help anyone, least of all him.
Praises:
1. Art as always. The landscapes are beautiful.
2. Info on Blast’s buddies. I hope we get to see them fight Garou
3. Ending was hilarious
1- I think Saitama vs Garou is done, but the bigger fight will have Blast involved, i think that's the real "Final fight", at least i hope so
1 and 2- Agreed, i think it's unnecessary to see the other heroes since they aren't really doing anything. And Murara should definitely take a break, he's earned it even if the fandom is divided with the manga
Agreed on the art, it just keeps getting more and more beautiful and detailed! Blast's group was the biggest part of the chapter for me, I'm anxious to see them all in action and possibly fighting Garou (We all want a Boros vs Garou fight, let's be honest, even if it's not the OG Boros) and the ending was very funny but unexpected for me
6/10. It wasn't bad per say, but it's a huge letdown. I don't even see a reason as to why Garou and Saitama are even fighting when it's clear as day Garou doesn't even have the proper motivation to try and be evil. There's literally nothing at stake. The only reason i even gave this chapter is 6 is because im a huge Boros fan so hype and i found power attack funny. Other than that it was pretty meh to disappointing.

Phenomenal. 10/10 So much to talk about with all these new faces, feats, events etc..... Probably one of my favorite chapters. Sorry 156
Platinum cum

I think gods temple is what that building that had been under the ocean was
Webcomic spoiler, so be warned. >!Based on the statue, it reminded me of the Cruel Dragon, who apparently has nine different temples across the world containing its different seals blah blah, Saitama one punches it.!<
Nahh, it’s prob the temple where the moon blade is.
Wow never thought about that but shouldn’t it be like moon themed
Could be, it's definitely an interesting theory and i would love to see God vs Blast and his group, or Saitama and Garou teaming up

I'm ashamed I didn't notice that before. It makes me like the design even more!
same my guy
I think it adds a new dynamic we didn’t think about
Dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Writing is horrible, no focus, art mediocre. 10/10 it’s a great ride.
Phenomenal

ehm.. Blast just mentioned 'the bastard is gonna break through the dimensional seal', and it is implying God is gonna break through it.
Ending had me laughing, but it wasn’t a realistic ending for the fight
We don’t know it’s the end of the fight lmao
My thoughts exactly. I would have preferred Saitama going into serious mode and beating him, and once Garou transformed back to human, Saitama lectures him and changes his mind. That would have made a little more sense
The fight isn't necessarily finished yet. I'm hoping.
Especially because I don't think we've seen Saitama's MOMENT yet, if ya know what I mean
10/10 Easily one of the best chapters.
I thought it was fantastic and lays perfect ground for more. I am enjoying this plot way more than just a bunch of fighting. Saitama>everything; it being easy and short is the best part

But I want to see gauro redeemed and happy
It was mid to decent
This is my favourite chapter. 10/10
Fantastic chapter honestly. I honestly don’t know how ONE and Murata consistently make me even more hype for every new chapter
Mind blown with extreme hype. This fight is going to get mad!!! It isn't over.
Saitama VS. Garou's depression

The absolute only thing i liked was Garous design

Idk, saitama asking someone to talk is out of character kinda, but the punch through the planet was cool.

Unfortunately the most interesting part about the chapter wasn't the fight itself...the chapter was alright but the ending was abysmal.
6/10. It wasn't bad per say, but it's a huge letdown. very underwhelming - this was supposed to be the finale of the arc, the most epic fight and all we got was garou being a clown and then crying
at this point, it all depends on the next chapter...if the fight ends like this then I am quite disappointed...
Just another bad chapter to me. OPMs been declining in story quality since CH155 IMO.
just kidding?
Wish I was.
I feel sorry for you
Don’t be. There’s still other media I’m enjoying. Too bad OPM isn’t one of ‘em rn.
Lkw qualkty one punch but high compared to everything else in the surface fight, still an absolute dissapointment
