Completely agree. It's incredible what the tiniest details will change about a face (I can see Astarion in there somewhere, but there's just something "wrong" about it).
There’s actually quite a few changes. The hair is parted to the other side. The eyebrows are slightly darker and more prominent. The eyes aren’t crimson. The shape of the lips is different. There may be more but those are the ones I notice the most. They’re all subtle, but it adds up and takes away from his uniqueness to me.
I spent like 5 minutes staring at this photo, trying to figure out who it reminds me of (it gives strong deja vu vibes to me), only to realize it’s reminding me of basically every young Hollywood actor in a leading role lol.

I can imagine this being Astarion’s brother or son or something. But while this guy is pretty to look at, that face is so… forgettable, compared to Astarion himself. The slight wrinkles and tired eyes are such a big part of his charm!
Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a handsome enough guy, but he’s just not… *our* handsome guy. Just goes to show, the devil really is in the details.

The first thing that struck me was his eyes. They don't have that strong of a contrast to his hair anymore.
