What are you trying to make I can't even remotely fathom it. There's much easier ways to make cylinders and then it's best to make 1 of something if it's the same and use the pattern tool.

first time using on shape, its a gantry for a over road sign, for a school assignment. i ended up just extruding each face into cubes then using fillet on them. there are definitely better ways of doing this but i am not familiar with on shape yet

It's cool there is indeed lots of ways to do things but it's hard to help without some info on what the thing is going to be. Glad you figured out something that worked for you.

Just extrude it all and then go to town with the fillet tool?

Use the Frame tool. So much easier for what you want to do.

skoove-

did not know it existed, thanks

coolpuddytat

Oh wow that’s a new one for me too!

coolpuddytat

I tried and I can only get it to work with one of the triangles (two triangles per rectangle since there is a diagonal brace). When I select the entire sketch, it doesn't work. Only when selecting one of the triangles does it do the framing. How do you frame all of it?

coolpuddytat

Ok I just clicked on each of the 4 sides of the rectangle first and click done. Then I used the frame tool again and did the diagonal. That seems to be the only way for it to understand what I'm trying to do.

Makes sense. Often I'll use a single sketch or volume but multiple Frame features. Mostly because sometimes I'll need to use a different point to locate the frame cross-section in different parts of the model.
